I recently visited Clermont Herb Shop and Spa for a one-hour massage with my partner. The check-in process was quick and easy, but upon entering, the establishment's setting raised concerns. Housed in a converted home, the massage room had a mildew smell, and the equipment was subpar, with a broken table and an improvised head frame causing discomfort. The awkward intake involved the therapist asking about what my body was telling me, without clear focus on pressure preferences. The massage itself was disappointingly more of a light rubdown than a proper massage, with minimal pressure, resembling a family member's attempt at a neck massage. The therapist incorporated sound bowls, though lacking the proper equipment for an effective sound bath. The session abruptly concluded with a discussion about my body's rotation, leaving me to change on my own. The positive note was the reasonable price, although still overpriced for the service. Overall, the experience fell short, highlighting the need for better therapist vetting, standardized procedures, and more comprehensive training to align with advertised services. If you need a relaxing massage here is the place. There are several private rooms in the building and itis decorated appropriately to help you begin to relax. I cant recall the massage therapist's name, but for the most part, she did a good job. The only critique i have is that she made alot of noise fumbling about in a cabinet a couple of times which broke the peacefulness. Hr technique was different using extremely slow movements with very light pressure. If you a expecting a deep tissue massage it is not happening. The table was very hot when i first layed down so i asked to turn it off as it was almost uncomfortably warm in the room. I am used to a room that is much cooler. At the end of 85 min the table was still warm. I am unsure if it had been turned off. All in all a relaxing experience and i would recommend this establishment. read more

For the last several years I have gotten massages here. Last year I had Charleene and was unimpressed. It felt like someone was just rubbing their hands on my skin. I had totally forgotten about how I hated that experience and I have paired with her again yesterday. I was looking forward to my couples massage with my boyfriend as we had been stressed recently like everyone else. Well, same experience as last time. Just hands rubbing on my skin. I gave her some time thinking since it was 80 minutes maybe she was warming up or something. But honestly, my boyfriend and I were disappointed. He had to massage my back out last night for me as I still was experiencing tightness and cramps from the stress. I used to LOVE coming here when Lori was there. Charleene is a sweet lady, but I cannot believe I paid $150 for two people to rub their hands on our bodies. Highly disappointed. read more

I've been going to see Shelby for the past year or so for massages. She does such an amazing job. I often have knots in my muscles from work and Shelby works her magic to loosen those muscles and get me back to the point that it no longer hurts to move. Upon check out I was told that the item was mistakenly priced $10 lower than it should have been marked. I was then expected to pay full price for the item in question. She took the time to work the knots out from under my shoulder blades and maintain the perfect amount of pressure. It's hard to find that good of a massage therapist. The aesthetician Stephanie was extremely rude and appeared extremely annoyed at the fact that I was inquiring about facial products. Not only did she you walk away from me as I was asking her a question but she had the nerve to answer "uh huh" when I said thank you as I was leaving the store. I have been going to Amanda for my facials for several years now and would not give it a second thought to go anywhere else. She is very professional and your skin feels like your ten years younger. I give her five stars! I give the Herb Shoppe 3 because they need to understand how important it is to have the client feel good about the whole experience. The last time I went for some reason I didn't see Amanda after my facial and she always walks down with me when we are finished and I pay the bill and we chat and it is just a nice closure to the appointment. So my advise is to let your employees be who they are and the clients will feel more comfortable going to the Herb Shoppe to get there facials. read more
