Been seeing this healer since I found him in 2013. Folks, I have a western medicine Dr at Dr Phillips Hospital AND I have my Eastern medicine Dr in the Mills50 District. And honestly, Arturo has helped me more than my Western Medicine team, well except for the X-rays. I mean Arturo is good, but I am not sure if he can ACTUALLY see through skin down to the bone! I have scheduled two appointments, both of which were confirmed by on the phone and via their email registration and BOTH times no one showed up until 10AM. I bought a Groupon for 3 60 minute massages. At first, I had a hard time getting someone on the phone. I shared my frustration and Arturo personally reached out with his cell phone number and a link for making appointments online. I appreciated the response and everything was convenient and easy from there. Keep an eye out for the online appointments as they are a small business and the therapist cannot be massages and answering the phone! My first massage was wonderful. He consistently checked in with me to make sure the pressure was comfortable and spoke to me about why muscle were hurting as they were. I always opt for deep tissue massages and have noticed the difference between therapists. when his knuckles touch my neck, my whole head starts pleasantly tingling. The hour went by too quick and I wish I could have laid there another hour. I noticed that I didn't leave completely covered in oil as with most massages. Big thanks on that! My second massage, I added cupping. This worked wonders. Again, Arturo was professional, skilled and aware. Flowing between comforting music in the background and reassuring check ins. I had a lot of bruising from the cupping as expected but it was not at all painful. I do bruise quite easily as well. My third massage, I accidentally scheduled during a prior engagement of mine so I left Arturo a message. He quickly got back to me and rescheduled. For this massage, I tried acupuncture for the first time. He opened the needles in front of me to assure me they are new, which was very appreciate as I know that all respectable tattoo artists do the same. Although, I am not scared of needles, he was very gentle and delicate inserting them and describing how it would feel and why. I felt the needles more than I thought I would. It was an odd sensation, but never painful. Some sort of electricity was then attached to the needles so that pulsing waves would go into your muscles. This is the part where he worked closely in communication with me, as he cannot feel what you feel. He lets you know what you will feel, where you will feel it and to tell him when it is at an acceptable level. The care and attention he took make it very comfortable is important. It was relaxing to the point that I almost fell asleep on a table half naked with needles and electricity running through my back. I would definitely recommend it to people. Though, it is new and intimidating, it is worth it. The space is always clean and inviting. I really enjoy that I am supporting a small Orlando business and would suggest Healing Spots to my friends. I have been going to Arturo for about 6-7 years for acupuncture, massage, cupping, and heat therapy. He is the most competent acupuncturist and massage therapist Ive had throughout my moves and travels and I would not trust anyone else besides him for needle work. I dont consider myself an athlete, but I do work out more than the average person. I do olympic weightlifting, crossfit, and spartan races. All of this makes my body hurt and ache, and sometimes, cause injuries. I have a torn meniscus (bucket tear) in my right knee that is about 10 years old and every now and then it will get swollen and aggravated. I have been able to escape surgery through acupuncture. I sprained my wrist when I missed a "clean" and Arturo got it back to working condition through acupuncture and massage. After a car accident (I was rear ended and my back was TIGHT), I was going to chiro and massage therapy at a place recommended by my attorney, however, I Was not getting any better. My back was still tight, and I couldn't even put on my bra without wincing. I went back to Arturo and he did acupuncture and electrode acupuncture (I'm probably using the wrong terminology) and did massage on my shoulders and back to loosen up the muscles that had remained constricted from the car accident. After 2 sessions, I was back to weightlifting and crossfit! I am back to Arturo now to treat my other knee, which has decided to rebel against my heavy squatting. He did acupuncture and cupping to relieve the inflammation. I highly recommend Arturo with Healing Spots. Does not honor morning appointments. Has been a no show at least 5 times. Attempted to charge my card for an additional massage I did not receive one time, says it was a mistake but blocked me after I requested a refund (I asked very politely I may add so this has left me shocked and confused). He has still not attempted to make contact to this day. I have never harassed or bothered him, just requested that one time. Check other reviews about this same issue.
