Not only was the treatment completely different, but it was also mediocre. They used hot stones I never asked for, and they weren't even hot. Throughout the session, staff repeatedly exposed me by walking in and out of the room and leaving the door open. When I confronted the situation, the therapist tried to pass off the deep tissue massage as a Thai massage until I mentioned that I'm a massage therapist. Then she casually remarked, "Oh, I can just charge you for a deep tissue." To make matters worse, she refused to give me the manager's number, which forced me to call the police and file a report. Usually when my lower back starts feeling that particular way, it means it's about to lock up. This is the first time someone was able to get everything in order before it got as bad as it can get. SHE WAS AMAZING. I don't know how other massage therapists are there. But my massage was intense. She was very intuitive with my muscles and joints. She was the boss of every knot and pain. My first massage I breathed deep through the pain, and it was worth it. I walked out feeling GREAT. The second time I told her to be easy. Again she was intuitive and keenly aware of which places needed work. She pushed the knots a little bit. But she didn't work it nearly as strongly as before, because I asked for ease. Both times she properly handled a sciatica problem I have. I felt great relief. The place is clean. The linens smell clean and fresh. The massage table was sturdy. (I've been on some that squeak with every stroke from the therapist. That's annoying.) The music was a tad louder than I prefer, but I'm sure when I ask her to lower the volume, she will. The brochure says they offer a shower room upon request. I haven't used that yet. I highly recommend this place if you're adventurous. Nothing untoward goes on here. Her English is halting, but she understands far better than she speaks. The establishment has a dog on premises, but she clean and nice. If you have persistent pain that seem to stem from muscle or ligament issues, give Julie a try. Explain where you hurt and see if she can help. If all you want is a healthy massage, get it here. And don't be quiet about whether you need more or less pressure.
