The "doctor" is not one as far as I could tell. Also, I was told they only use acupuncture sites in the lower extremities after I had contracted for the expensive series of treatments. The acupuncturist really did not listen to me when I was describing my condition. He pretended to be by nodding etc. but I could sense he just wanted to get to the chase. I did have 4 treatments before seeing a surgeon who rushed me into neural surgery with five days. If the acupuncturist was credentialed as a medical doctor this could have occurred a month earlier as he would have told me to see a surgeon. read more

We have had exceptional acupuncture for years in CA. We always paid per visit. And always after the service was performed. Here you must pay to get a walk through of a small facility and then quoted several thousand dollars for 6 months of treatment with no guarantees whether their treatment would be effective or not. There was no service or treatment, we were just paying for a sales presentation, buyer beware. Too many red flags for us. read more

My name is Darryl, I've had 3 back surgeries in the past 6 years. The surgeries were to correct my spinal stenosis. Unfortunately, I'm still having chronic back pain! I arrived at the office of Dr. Barnett for a consultation based on recommendations specific to a shoulder issue. I was taken aback that his three front desk personnel (the two with whom I spoke were certainly friendly) were not wearing masks... in a healthcare practice... during a pandemic. Fortunately, the doctor was wearing a mask. Unfortunately, the protocol recommended for my shoulder issue was quoted at $2000. As one among the many unemployed at this time, such an expense is untenable. What was surprising and disappointing was that the doctor did not suggest any alternative options. Though as others have noted, he seems knowledgeable. I did walk out with a $50 bottle of muscle rub feeling as if I should leave with a modicum of hope. Praying it will be effective. I won't categorize Dr. Barnett as "uncaring," but I have pause about practitioners who do not seek solutions when the first recommended solution is beyond the patient's wallet. read more

Dr.Barnett knows me from my job at the post office. He saw me stretching and trying to relieve my neck pain while waiting on him. He invited me to try his office and a session of acupuncture. Although I was a bit nervous to try something new he calmed my anxiety and assured me it would help. Went here after I purchased a Groupon, first time doing cupping. Wasn't much of an experience, he asked me some questions, put the cups on for about 10 minutes, left the room, took them off and it was done. The first time I learned about Orlando Acupuncture was through a testimonial video that came across my feed on Facebook. Without any prior acupuncture treatment or understanding of the benefits of Chinese medicine I was a little on the hesitant side of scheduling an appointment with Dr. Barnett. I've seen testimonial videos time and time again and they almost seemed to good to be true. I have been going here for awhile now and am a fan. I was familiar with acupuncture previously and had lots of experience. So I was familiar with the long health intake form. This is a necessity with Chinese medicine so they get a picture of what's going on with the whole system. I appreciate that and that's incredibly helpful rather than the way Western medicine is done ("only treat the part that's hurting the most" type of thing). The staff is incredibly helpful and courteous; the ladies that run the front desk are always pleasant and on top of things. They will email or text you for appointment reminders. They accept insurance, too; we have Cigna and it ends up costing us only $12 per session which allows us to integrate this into our overall health care. I have been treated for head/neck/shoulder issues stemming from herniated discs in my neck and it has helped tremendously. I take the herbs that they recommended but they aren't pushy about the herbs at all. I am treated by Lammie Lambert and recommend her whole heartedly. My husband has used acupuncture for treating his symptoms of Lyme disease and it was the only thing that really worked. Give them a try if you've never tried acupuncture before. They also take evening appointments which is helpful for people with 9-5 jobs. read more

I have really gotten a lot out of my visits here. I've never had acupuncture before, but the staff are very communicative; they take the time to educate patients/clients about how it works; and are good about answering questions. Everything seems to run very smoothly and I have spent very little time waiting to be seen (think about how long you usually wait at your GP's office). Furthermore, if I have a check-in with staff/assistants before seeing the acupuncturist, it is clear that they communicate with one another about what I've told them, so I'm not repeating the same things to two or three people (again comparing the process to that of the typical western doc's office). I feel as if they care about me as a person, which sounds maybe a little silly but it makes a difference to me. Highly recommended. read more

I great up getting acupuncture and acupressure (believe me, we never faked sickness because we knew what was coming!), so I've learned a lot about it over the years. Since moving to Orlando, I've tried at least four other places and have settled here because the doctors are very knowledgeable. Like the first reviewer, I got a Groupon and boy am I glad I did! I have to agree that the process with the office administrator seemed redundant to me. I'd rather have just spent that time with the actual doctor instead of having to repeat myself a few times, but in larger practices, this is standard operating procedure. I have no complaints about the long questionnaire because there's no other way for them to know what my issues are. At no point was I made to feel that I was living my life incorrectly, but there were definitely improvements that could be made -- but that goes for everyone, no one is perfect. I understand that the vast majority of people are not familiar with Chinese medicine and so would benefit from the long spiel, but I would have liked to opt out of it. I wouldn't call it "stressful" but it was the most unpleasant part of the whole process. And sure the atmosphere could be more spa-like, but I am perfectly happy with what they have now. I'm paying to get healed, not for a facial. The bottom line is that I really like my doctor and can feel that he truly wants to help people. So I did sign up for a six month treatment plan and two months in, I am happy to report that things are going well and I am feeling better. There's still a ways to go, but I am very optimistic that they will help me overcome my health challenges. read more

This place has changed my life and given my quality of life back. I've struggled with a nerve disorder for about a year and a half, with daily constant pain. I was skeptical of acupuncture in general, but tried it as one last thing before possible (brain) surgery. And I am so incredibly glad I gave it a chance. It takes some time, but it's easier to be patient about that because my pain lessened as each month went by. I am still doing treatment, but the difference is night and day. I can function again. This was 1st time doing acupuncture and I was greatly suprised. I am unable to see a chiro because of my back surgery and this was my last ditch effort to not be saddled by medication to deal with my pain and spasms. While searching Groupon I found there deal and I am glad I purchased it. The staff is absolutely the best. The cordinator explained the process and also what acupunture helps. It was a real lesson and I was glad I decided to give it a try. After my 1st session I started to see results. The acupuncturists here are very nice and pretty good. The know what they're doing, at least. The atmosphere is far from relaxing, though; harsh lighting with no dimmers, and very institutional. The biggest thing that I had a problem with was administration. I had to fill out a LONG questionaire my first time, and then REPEAT that information to the "incoming interview" guy (who I thought was the acupuncturist...oh no) 10 minutes later, at which point I was not only told I wasn't living my life right, but that I was also WRONG about what things did and did not help or make me feel worse. This wasn't my first rodeo...I've gone to acupuncture before, and certainly know a lot about it and about the theory. I certainly seemed to know more about the body, rhythms, and stress responses; some of the stuff this guy said was just, well, wrong. Again, the acupuncture sessions themselves were great, although I had to then repeat my symptoms and lifestyle for the THIRD time. However, after my second visit (groupon for two visits), I had ANOTHER discussion about pricing etc with an administrator, where I guess they usually do a presentation about acupuncture theory and how it takes a ton of visits to "fix" you. I was asked repeatedly how "committed [I was] to feeling better." Yikes. Two of my friends have already cancelled their groupons, despite it being a good deal. That's sad, because the doctors themselves are good, but it was actually more stressful in the end than it was helpful. read more
