Please listen to feedback...I've been a huge fan since you guys opened up at your original location. Today I was highly disappointed to say the least. It was our first time at the new location and it was the last time we'll be there for quite some time. We ordered a Khal Drogo, Hulk Hoagie and two orders of fried cheese curds. When I got there, there was no line and it wasn't crazy busy. I sat there waiting for 40 mins and witnessed several other frustrated customers. No urgency or update on our order. I had to go to the counter to get an eta and no apology for the long wait. There is no organization in the new location and it was half the time to get the same order in the old place. It's obvious that the kitchen is not organized or has a process figured out. The decor was surprising to. I remember the Twisted Moose and the place wasn't that bad looking when they held down the location. It looks like you moved in with no plan and just expected everything to work. It looks cheap with the neon spray paint on things and the old tables and torn up chairs. The food was not worth the wait and sadly to say we would have been better off driving through Arby's. Get back to the basics, class up your joint a bit, cut the wait time down and take care of your loyal customers. I miss the old deli feel of the original spot. Figure it out and care about your business read more

Johnsburg location had great food and fast service. This experience was a total let-down. Waited in line for 20-25 minutes to order for takeout as the dining room looked pretty full. Stood waiting for our food for an entire hour for three sandwiches and some fries! Sadly, we saw others waiting just as long. When we got the food home two of the sandwiches were not what we ordered, we were missing an order of fries, and the fries we did get were so over cooked we couldn't eat them. So disappointed in this visit and $40 wasted. I will wait a while and give it another try some day. I hope they get it together soon. read more

Saturday night at 7, maybe 30 people. Over half an hour to get 2 sandwiches. Told we were lucky, usually much longer. Dining area was filthy, tables, floors and over flowing trash cans. Big disappointment read more

My family usually loves this place! But since it moved locations I am super less than impressed with the service. We waited in line this evening for over 35 minutes for us to make it to the front of the line to have them inform us that they were out of pulled pork. Each of the sandwiches that we had selected contained pulled pork. The fact that they did not make an announcement to the huge line of customers that they are out of an ingredient that is in a large percentage of their sandwiches was in my opinion incredibly no customer friendly. They are severely short staffed and need to figure it out soon. This was most likely our last time visiting the restaurant. read more

First time to the new location and it will be the last. Cashier was very nice and friendly. Ordered a cheese sandwich that was on two giant pretzels and was supposed to be grilled. Cheese wasn't melted and the sandwich was luke warm. Went up to the counter and talked to a woman. Told her I was not happy with the food as it was undercooked and not hot. She just stared at me. Said it again and she said "I will get my manager - you can't just come up here and fling food in my face". The manager refunded my money and I declined to order something else. Don't bother with this place. It needs some professional management read more

I have mixed emotions about this place. It's either a hit or miss depending on what you order. 2/5 times I liked what I had. The Gump was outstanding if you like shrimp. But MAKE SURE YOU GET THEIR SANDWICHES IN A WRAP! The bread that they use it waaaaaay to thick you can hardly taste the ingredients. They should consider ripping out the inside of the bread like jimmy johns does! I don't recommend ordering anything with chicken, every time I've had a chicken sandwich of some sort there. The chicken is SO DRY! They put too much on the sandwiches as well, so you literally have to chew like 30 chews before you can swallow. I'll be going here again...but I hope to find some better options on their menu. read more

food was ok . a bit overrated and the server was now the friendliest

I love that they have vegan options but the service was awful. They lady taking the order was rude. Didn't say hello. Didn't smile. Working in the service industry really puts things into perspective. Also didn't know what charted went. Won't be coming here again after this experience... read more

Hire more employees!! Why move locations if you can't accommodate your demand? Staff was stressed and overworked at 2:00 pm on a Saturday. Take your paninis off the menu if you aren't going to make them for your customers. 2 stars instead of 1 because half the food ordered was very good. Chimichanga and BLT were great, wailer and salad were not good. read more

This is the best place to eat in all of McHenry. The options are endless, not only to meat lovers but also vegans! They offer vegan specials and you can always customize your sandwich to be vegan. I love the Skiba!! It's so good. Just take off the cheese and the meat it's still amazing. My boyfriend isn't a vegan and he loves it here, there's sooo many combinations for people to choose from. If you're looking for a great place to get a quick bite to eat, or even to just chill, definitely come here. Tons of seating, TVs everywhere, music playing. Don't miss out on this gem!!! read more

Starting with the line, 15 people and 1 register? I've seen 10 different faces behind the counter but no help offered. Sad. Made our order and went to get out fountain drink while we wait. Soda dispenser reaching for Dr.pepper be prepared to get your hand wash as the machine is broke and needs repair. Waited 15 min to get food. Wow and all the help they have. Again line with one person ringing. Sat to eat and looked like it would live up to the name, nuff said. I have never a soggy panini in my life. Sad but nothing epic to report here. Sad the girl at the counter didn't ask if we wanted chips or anything with the meal. read more

Amazing food. Sandwich are like no other place we have been before, very creative combinations! Highly recommend!

Always a great, huge sandwich! Every imaginable combination available, house specialties are good. Come hungry! These sandwiches take a while to make but so worth it. Staff a little off beat but friendly. Lots of sitting room, call ahead for take out read more

You could go crazy just trying to decide what to eat. The menu is amazing as is the food. If you have room the sides are worth it too!

Attention VEGANS; I chose to go full vegan 7 months ago following a poor score on a coronary calcium scan. As a lifelong carnivore, it hasn't been easy making the adjustment, especially when dining out, but Epic Deli has an offering that I'll be back for whenever I'm anywhere near the place. Try their vegan burger that comes on a pretzel bun, it's absolutely delicious and filling. I went with their standard fixings consisting of vegan mayo, plus mustard and pickles. read more

New location SUCKS waited almost 35 mins for COLD food. We both ordered hot sandwiches came out very cold. The long line was insane need to have more people working. Can't really comment on tastiness of food as it was too cold to swallow even. Pretty disappointed. read more

The food here is always unique, love it. Now that they've moved, service is not as slow, greatly improved. The food is always with any wait. Highly recommend. read more

After a 20 minute wait to order, we waited 30 minutes for three sandwiches and three hotdogs. The people in front of me were done eating! I could've sat down at a nice place, had dinner and been home for the time and money spent. When I asked if it always takes 30 minutes once your order is placed the kid said I could call in an order-no apologies. I will not be visiting them again to wait 30 minutes for a sandwich. read more

This place used to be decent. Maybe 4-5 years ago when a sandwich cost $7.95. (Which was still overpriced). Had the worst experience tonight. Go there. There's a couple in front of me. They order and sit down. I go to the pickup register. Stand there like I'm invisible for 5 minutes. So after that is said and done i get my bill for 2 sandwiches and an appetizer. $35. Are you kidding? 2 sandwiches and some GARLIC BREAD. $35. Wow. Way to RAPE your loyal customers. My meal should be $20. Never going back. Rape someone else. read more

Like it, don't love it. It's a fun place to go for something out of the ordinary, but my personal preference isn't for meat-overloaded sandwiches. Once had bacon that was very undercooked. But it's great to support local businesses and I love seeing Epic Deli thrive. read more

COLD food and RUDE MANAGEMENT/WAIT STAFF -- Not from the area but took a chance at this establishment ... what a mistake!!! While the menu, at first blush, looks interesting, what is finally delivered does not meet up with what is advertised/described on the menu. Food was cold and, strangely, just not very good. That could have been that you're eating what should be a hot item when it wasn't just lukewarm but actually cool. All of us left the majority of our order although the fries were good. Even worse than the food, however, is their personnel. One of our party was actually chastised by a worker which was just SO inappropriate and certainly colored our experience. I will certainly never be back nor could I ever recommend. read more

After we waited in line to give our order, the cashier told us we can only order to go because it passed 4 o'clock, that was rude, she could've let us know before read more

I love how unique this place is, especially the names of the food. I went way too risky with what I ordered ( Deadpool), which wasnt bad, but not great. They have so many options that are intriguing and would send me back, though. Plus, everyone else at my table had awesome looking meals. read more

Good but not great. . .save money and order a smaller yet satisfying portion. Unique tastes and combinations. . .better than most Lake County quick food. read more

***I will never eat here again.*** READ UNTIL THE END.*** Before Tuesday it had been at least 2 months since eating here because my mom had found *HAIR* in her BLT. But I decided to give them another chance and placed a to-go order. The guy on the phone was an idiot, I asked if I could get vegan cheese fries or if they need to be on special. He just told me he doesn't know... didn't try to investigate it further for me. So I get there and pay, the same dork who took my order brought out my sandwiches (Audrey 2 and Viking Quest), the fries were still cooking so I stood there and waited (which is totally fine). So when you have food to go they give you a black plastic bag similar to a grocery bag, he comes out w the 2 fries in sleeves and proceeds to place them in the plastic bag - you know so they can spill all over?! So I called him out on it and he got out the styrofoam to-go boxes all the while spilling one of the fries on the counter and then picking them up w his bare hands, touching all the fricken fries! Real great! Fries all over dirty counter and his nasty hands and I'm still expected to eat them apparently. Wait for the real kicker... so the Audrey 2 is a vegan burger that they put it in a clear to-go container, while I'm driving it starts rocking around so I pull it out of the bag to secure it better. WELL. I'm not even home w my food and I can see a FRICKEN WHITE ASS HAIR THROUGH THE BOX ON MY FOOD. WTF!!! THIS PLACE IS DIRTY AF! DONT EAT HERE! EVER! They use to be *decent* and ever since moving locations they have gone down hill major, there's never ANYONE (as in customers) here when I go but it's always disgusting/dirty inside. Also their vegan options are not even appealing, I make waaaay better "Audrey 2's" at home. I'd rather starve then eat here. Go somewhere else! read more

Ordered a corned beef on rye. They toasted the bread and burnt it then they covered the sandwich up so it steamed the bread, so then I had a burnt mushy bread. (Who toasts a corned beef sandwich?). By far the worst sandwich I have ever had. I never will go there again. read more

Slow, over cooked, over seasoned, terrible customer service. I waited over and a half just to get over seasoned okay-ish creative idea based food from a rude waitress. I'm not from here and I would never recommend it to anyone that has standards. read more

Understaffed, long lines, extremely long wait time... the food is good, but not that good. Definitely not worth the wait. They need to get their act together. You knew that moving your business to a larger location would bring in more customers, you should have planned to handle the increase in business. Bad business call. You lost my business. Maybe I'll check back in a year or so, after you get it together... read more

Highly inappropriate environment for all ages. The food was good, but my husband and I were shocked and offended to see that 4 of the TVs were playing what everyone in our group considered to be borderline pornography. We asked the people behind the counter to change it twice, and they finally changed 1 TV but left the other 3. Definitely won't be returning. read more

Never again. Waited for an hour and 25 minutes... Staff rude, yelling, overworked. Try checking on your order and get a death stare. Have been looking forward to trying this EPIC experience for awhile and was highly disappointed. After all of that waiting, my panini was a tiny wrap about the size of a taco bell soft taco (can't think of any other way to compare sizes, LOL). I asked the staff and they said, we don't make paninis anymore. That would've been good information to start with. If I wanted a cold sub sandwich, I could've went to jimmy johns, got twice as much food for half the price and saved myself an hour and 20 minutes! I was trying to be compassionate to the staff who clearly had many issues. But I thought at least my food would be EPIC and delicious, and I was wrong. They should've offered to refund my money and make me something new, but nope. Good luck to them, I have no clue how they can stay in business operating like this. read more
