It's fine, certainly overrated and overhyped. I've been several times over the past few years and the food is really big and filling, but that really bumps up the price a lot, and it just doesn't ever really taste spectacular or worth it. All of the food on the menu just seems like the guy inventing it went "Ooo what can we cram in a sandwich, cheetos? Chicken fingers? Sweet, let's just find stuff out back and put it in bread." Been to the new location 2 times now and I love that they moved to a bigger location that has better parking as well!! Prices are decent, servings are large, lots of different options!! The other thing I love about this place is their unique offerings!! Deep fried pickle spears, fried oreos, fried twinkies etc. etc. It's enough to make a fat-girl sob with joy!!! Time to stop going here for awhile. Just not what it used to be. When the brothers ran it all the time, you knew the food was gonna be the best you've ever eaten. Since the move to Schaid Ct., food quality, temperature, and just about everything else, has gone down the tubes. Can we get a cashier who gives a damn about working her position, and not on her phone? How bout wipe down dirty tables with a hot rag, or take the overflowing garbage out? How bout some cooks that don't look like they just rolled out of bed, and threw on whatever smelled clean, and went to work? You guys had a reputation for being different, and now the name and past experiences, is what's keeping you alive, in my eyes. Bring back the simple things. Everyone in an Epic shirt so you can tell the hipsters from the employees, give a damn about the food and the way it is presented and cooked to temp before it goes out the door, and please stop trying to one up the last week's specials with vegan this, and super spicy that. Sorry guys, used to be a loyal, and repeat customer. Gotta stop coming for awhile, until I hear things have changed. read more

Such a crafty joint! The menu is huge! The sammies are actually Epic! They offer unique food and drink you can't normally find or think of.. Just do yourself a favor and stop in.. The homemade sides are yum as well.. Plus video games!! The only thing missing is BEER, but that doesn't stop me.. Glad these guys are in my local area. read more

I am new to the area and heard good things so decided to give it a try. I'm glad others seem to like it but I'm puzzled as to why. I went when they only had a few families there. I believe 2 people ordered before me and were still waiting when I arrived. My sandwich took forever...15+min for a chicken panini which turnerd out to be made of dry lunch meat? Opening night was a rough patch for Epic Deli as other reviews have mentioned. Traffic has since mellowed out and their food is still awesome! Fries are actually better I think (as does my 3 year old). I'm not happy they don't have Panini bread anymore as my favorite was always the Dolly and I can't imagine it's hard to obtain, but I don't think it's appropriate to base a review on one item. Atmosphere is decent, color scheme is a little different (but fine!), music is good and the jukebox and stage for music (once put to use) are/will be fantastic! I use to give this place 5 stars until they started getting popular. Service people look pissed, like they have to work and they stop doing deep fried candy at a certain time, where does that say that on your menu? Hopefully next time I come back don't have to give it a worse rating. read more

This place is incredible. I've been here too many times to count, and I do not have a single complaint. You walk in to a relaxed location that is eccentric in decoration. The music is great, nothing boring or inappropriate. The staff is always friendly and happy to help at the counter. The food choices are extraordinary. The sandwiches come from the wildest dreams, but they are great. The food will neverr disappoint. There is literally something for everyone. They have a kids menu and a pretty extensive dessert menu as well. The weekly specials are interesting and unique, I would suggest trying them occasionally as well. If you are looking for a delicious place to pick up some dinner, Epic Deli is a great place to do so. Enjoy! read more

Two sandwiches, two drinks, two fries and a dessert. Guess how much. Cheese would have been extra! Have heard a lot about this place. While driving by thought we would give it a try. Cool vibe. Epic deli is a great place to pick up a sandwich. Service is good but food is great! Portions are unselfish. We usually end up bringing home the doggie bag....(only if you order the 12 inch sandwich.) I would say that if you are going there for the first time it would probably be a good idea to go online and read the menu and pick a sandwich before going. read more

I went to Epic Deli this weekend excited to try their poutine. It was a Saturday afternoon, so the moderate wait time to get to the register didn't bother me. I appreciate that management knows how many orders the kitchen can handle coming in at a time. Sadly, the food was disappointing. However, after only one visit, I am not ready to write the food off completely. What really bothered me was that I spent the entire time drawn toward the negative environmental impact of the establishment. I was put off when I saw styrofoam cups, and I slapped myself on the wrist for forgetting my own reusable straws. I know, however, that change takes time, so I tried not to let it affect me. Then things only got worse. The menus are printed on paper which can only mean they need constant replacing. This also includes the weekly menus which will only be thrown out after seven days. I was shocked when our food was brought to the table and every element of the dining ware on the tray was disposable. We ordered two poutines and a hot dog. Each tray was needlessly covered in two square feet of butcher's paper, each paper boat was lined with aluminum foil, and the silverware was disposable plastic. I was disappointed to see that the carry out containers were also styrofoam. I spent more time thinking about how much waste was created by our order and less time attempting to enjoy the food. I would love to see a restaurant with ideas and menus so hip and innovative attempt to match that creativity and innovation in their choices that impact the world in which we live. read more

As far as I can tell, you cannot go wrong here. I have had their ramen and loved it. I have had a panini, and loved it and now the BLT. It is so good and the staff is lovely. I also love that they serve Pipeworks beer, and they have a special on Monday nights for the beer. We also tried the turtle cheesecake and my husband loved it. Was decent a couple years ago. New place, less customers, longer waits... I guess management has gotten lazy and they are understaffed. The menu is too busy so I think that contributes to the extreme wait time (30 minutes for a sandwich is absurd). There is something off about their oil. Everything deep fried tends to have a plastic aftertaste to it, my guess is they aren't cleaning their equipment properly since overall it's not the cleanest place I've been too. Do not get the shark meat sandwich... ugh, not a lot of meat and what was there was over fried and very tough. Take a bite and a whole huge chunk comes out of the sandwich, not just the bite... it was frustrating and average tasting to boot. Epic Deli turned into an epic disappointment. Too bad... read more

Do not waste your money. I have to say that I do not post many reviews, however this was so bad, I felt it necessary. I was referred to Epic deli from a friend who'd been to the deli in the past, raves about a couple sandwiches. We had split a Rueben, the Leslie Chow, small Pandamonium & some poutine just to sample some stand out items. What I can say it was an Epic waste of $50. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not complaining about the cost at all, disappointment period. Sandwich meat was institutional at best, sandwiches were greasy tasting, dressing (chow) was just cheap and tasteless. Poutine was cold and sent back, twice. Aside from the low quality food, upon entry the place smelled like a urinal disk which should've been my mark to turn around and walk out. In response to other reviews about the staff being rude, they're young kids, running someone's restaurant. They're just young, not their fault. In fact, upon the 2nd return of the poutine, the young man brought me my money back for the dish, I explained that I didn't want it and tried to give it to him as a tip and he honestly replied that he could not accept it. Solid kid. These sandwiches are an Epic disaster and so is the place as a whole. Vendors, I'd warn for an Epic closure of an establishment like this and patrons I'd warn for Epic heartburn hours later. You can crush your own Doritos or Cheetos on a Subway sandwich for a fraction of the cost and build your own Epic sandwich without the heartburn or odor. If I could have rated zero stars I would have, one thing is assured, I will never return to this Epic debacle of a sandwich shop, never. read more

I went to Epic Deli with a couple of friends and my husband. The food was just ok at best. One member of the group ordered a burger and said it was terrible. Worst part by far was when the food came out and my husband stated that he ordered fries and not tater tots the person that brought the food out literally shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I liked this place better at the last location. The new venue feels like a dirty beer hall decorated by stoned college students and therefore limits who I would take there. Some of the food combinations are so junky that I would NEVER consider ordering them. Lots of calories and who knows what chemicals. I will say that they have a wonderful Reuben sandwich. I use to really like Epic Deli but the new location is not as welcoming as the old one. The service was slow and employees did not look very happy. We ordered the Kahl Drogo, which had Italian beef, mozzarella, and giardiniera. The girdinera was not put on the sandwich. So pretty lame sandwich. Overall I would no longer recommend Epic Deli based on location and service. The sandwich could have been fixed so I would still say the food is half way decent but not worth waiting forever for, which we did. read more

This place was definitely epic when they were still a small deli and at their old location. Once they moved to their bigger location they hired rude employees, it seems they have gotten sloppier with their food as well. If they want to continue being an overpriced deli they should really work on their customer service and cleanliness of the place. read more
