All I can say is stay away from here. I was first told from an engine light, that something was wrong with turbo. I then brought it in when I could and they said it's not turbo. It's real bad it's pistons, this, that and the other. That they had to rebuild engine! I freak out of course, but spoke with warranty and they said fix it. Long story short. I had it all done. Rebuilt, same day I pick it up, engine light comes on and Alex says it's probably just a glitch. 12 days later my engine dies on highway. Alex says nothing can be done, it's hydrolocked and engine is toast??? I say ok well it's being replaced. He says no it's a failed fuel injector (which is only thing not covered in failing engine? Imagine that?) So, it's not covered?????????? $12,000+ I paid not even 2 weeks before and now Alex and E.P. Automotive aren't fixing it. SCAMMING FRAUDS. Now I have to figure out as a single father what I can do. ANY STARS ABOVE 1-2 MUST BE A FAKE REVIEW GENERATOR! Notice how anything above 1-2 star is a few words, but the truthful 1-2 stars are really long telling the truth? He was busy too, but still he squeezed us in, looked it over, and helped us to feel good about our purchase. And then he didn't even charge us! I have been using Eric as my mechanic for almost 15 years. The price is always fair, and the work is always amazing. One time, I got a bill for five bucks! All he had to do was reset a light, and it took them a few minutes. He could've billed me hundreds of dollars, and I wouldn't have known the difference. But they were honest. The only downside is that they are so busy sometimes there is a bit of a wait. I can hardly fault them for running such a great business and delivering such an amazing service. Biggest thing they're helped me with Was them diagnosed a bent refurbished axel that my auto insurance paid their preferred mechanic to work on but never got it right. Have been working with EP for years. However our most recent experience goes something like this. 1 - Took the car in for a tune-up and maintenance cycle - was told there was nothing needed, car was great. 2 - 2 weeks later check engine line comes on and we take it back. They tell us that spark plugs need replacing and the timing tweaked. Why didn't this get done with the tune-up? 3 - 2 weeks later and the check engine lite is back on. They tell us the oil solenoid is acting up, but an oil flush and change will fix it. Why didn't this get checked with the first check engine lite? 4 - 1 week later and the check engine lite on again. The oil solenoid needs replacing and the oil needs flushed again. Oops, oil guess was wrong, 3rd engine lite means do something? 5 - 2 weeks after that fix, we go another mechanic and surprise, repeat #4, BUT they recommend basic maintenance work cause it is obvious it hasn't been done for a while. So what was EP doing? 6 - 2 weeks again, engine light and now we are being told the camshaft actuator and the solenoid need replacing and that a 2 grand check are in my future. 2 1/2 months and a couple grand later and it all started with, "Hey your car is in great shape and nothing needs done." Trying to same me time and money has cost me time and money. read more

My car wasn't starting consistently. It would start one day then the next it wouldn't even turn over. I paid to get my car towed to EP auto repair. I told them that my car wasn't starting and I would like them to diagnose/repair the issue. I also told them that my car was recently bought used and I wanted a full inspection done because there were 'check engine' lights on. They called me after having my car for 1 day. They said it started just fine and everything was OK. They billed me $100 to charge my battery and not do a single thing to my car. They knew full damn well that my battery was over 5 years old. Looking at it, the battery was bulging with acid residue all over the electrodes. The car battery CLEARLY needed to be replaced. They never gave my car a thorough inspection, they just pretended like I hadn't asked for one. I left EP auto with my 'check engine' light still on... even after they told me the vehicle was running "just fine". Can you guess what happened the day after I took my car home? It wouldn't start... *gasp* I took my battery to an auto parts store and they tested it and charged it for FREE. Then I took my car to another auto repair shop and they actually did a full inspection on my car for a fraction of what ep auto charged me. I replaced the battery myself and now my vehicle is actually running reliably. Thanks for taking my money and making my fix my own damn car. I don't care how busy you guys are during the holidays. If someone agrees to pay you to fix their vehicle you should be thorough. I guarantee you these guys didn't bother to touch my car after they barely charged my derelict battery. read more

I found a Corvette on the internet that I wanted to buy, but I live over 800 miles away, so I called them to have it inspected before I flew out. They told me in detail not only any mechanical issues, but they told me flaws in the paint, what kind of tint the windows had, and even what kind of stickers were on the car so that I knew every single detail and was confident when I bought the car without even seeing it first. Over the years, EP auto has proven time and time again that they do quality work and are incredibly honest. One thing you'll notice about EP is that it is always busy there. The reason is that everybody trusts them and for good reason. I just had another positive experience with EP, when the transmission on my car went out. They looked at my car and recommended me to Dean's Quality Transmission in Spanish Fork. Dean's did a great job, with awesome customer service along the way. I was very impressed that Eric and Ben with EP didn't push me to install a used transmission with them, which would have meant business for them, but wouldn't have been the best solution for me. I had to make a Yelp account for this and I'm very mad about the service here. It's by far the worst place to go to get your car fixed. Basically, I'm trying to sell my car and the potential buyer wants to get a diagnose for the car, that's fine, the car didn't have any problems other than the ones I informed him on. I take the car to EP and I'm greeted with Eric, nice dude, not. I proceed to greet him and tell him what I'm there for, he takes the car keys and gives them off to one of his men, alright makes sense. They later take an hour to check the car while I wait inside. Later they come back and hand me the key and tell me literally nothing. Nothing at all. I thought it was okay at the time because I didn't pay for the service but the potential buyer did, so he had to be informed. I go outside to find out my car isn't starting. Odd, i replaced the battery and the computer on it not even a month ago. Finally it turns on, I drive away to find my second problem, the driver side wheel is making noises, weird because up until then, The wheel itself didn't make any noises. I drove around for a bit longer and realize there is a lot of noise coming from the hood of the car. I pull over to find out the bottom frame of the car is completely detached. Now I'm mad, I call back EP to talk to Eric and I explained to him my problem and he proceeds to tell me that he didn't touch a thing. I know he didn't touch a thing because he was too busy to even go look at my car, he had phone calls and a customer to attend to. Which led to my problem not being resolved and a bad review. TLDR; I left EP with more problems on my car and lost the potential buyer and now, I have to waste money to fix their mistake. read more

They turn me away when nothing is wrong and it's no charge, they greet me by name and are ALWAYS polite and friendly, they do a great job when I need something fixed, an oil change, a state inspection, new radiator, etc. I am always shocked at how many car keys are on the counter - but they never failed to get me my car when they say they would. When we first found EP, I called around to compare quotes to fix our car the first few times we needed a repair and EP always came in lowest. Beyond that, they always work hard to squeeze us in and get the work done quick. We feel like they are honest and not recommending work that is not needed. And there have been several times where they have been more than fair and very helpful and generous in the work they have done - thrown in a little extra without charge, etc. We love EP and have come from car trouble in Salt Lake County a couple of times to make sure our car got fixed there. I have never met a more honest and caring auto shop in all my life. They have treated me as if I am a family member. The first time I met them I was told by another auto shop that it would cost $1300 to fix my issue. They took a look at it and did a couple things within seconds and fixed the problem. They didn't even charge me a penny. I have gone in multiple times since and they continue to be absolutely honest with whatever needs to be done. I don't know these guys. I only know them from going in from time to time. I have recommended everyone I know to them and they have felt the same way about their honesty and service. I now recommend them to you. If you're looking for an honest mechanic, this is the place. On multiple occasions EP Auto has saved me hundreds of dollars compared to what other car shops said I needed. Recently, Les Schwab tried to sell me $700 plus for multiple parts/labor without looking at the actual area of concern. Took it here and they made a minor adjustment and didn't charge me anything. Issue was fixed. They only perform what is needed and don't try to screw you by selling you services/parts you don't need. They are very busy so make an appointment. I would give them zero stars if I could. Absolutely AWFUL service. The worst customer service we have ever experienced in our lives. I never, ever write reviews, but for E P Auto, I'll make an exception. We took our car in to have the mechanic install three things. We were very specific; nothing was broken, and the car just needed upgrades. We made sure to supply good instructions with no ambiguities, so that none of the hardware would go to waste. We should have saved ourselves the effort, because the mechanics did not even look at the instructions, and ruined several car parts that we had planned on re-selling, once they were replaced. The installation should have taken about three hours total. We waited and waited, but the auto shop never called. In fact, the people taking our car and details never even asked our names, or anything, except for the credit card information. When we did call to inquire as to when the car would be ready for pickup, we were treated with contempt and irritation, though we were perfectly friendly and polite on the phone, making no new demands or requests whatsoever. Seven to eight HOURS after we had dropped the car off, we were finally informed that it was ready. As soon as we got home, we discovered that the installations had been done incorrectly. In addition, some of the parts that were ours had been stolen from us. The parts we did get back were in less-than-ideal condition, rendering us unable to sell them, as we had originally planned. We were also charged for car parts, even though we provided everything that was necessary for the small jobs we had commissioned. We drove back to E P Auto, and talked with the owner for a few minutes. He indicated that he understood the problem, and the car was taken back into the shop AGAIN. When we came to pick it up the next morning, he feigned ignorance, and was unwilling to take any responsibility for the horrible service he had provided. He wasn't kind, friendly, or understanding in any way. What an awful way to spend two days. Take my advice and stay away from E P Auto, unless you want your week to be spoiled...and to have to pay for it. The kicker? Even after the second time in the shop, the installation was done incorrectly. We finally did it ourselves. read more

This place is unreal. My old mechanic (And i say old because i'm now a loyal EP auto customer) quoted me 400 dollars just in labor to fix my windshield wipers because it's an older van with everything in weird places.. They had some trouble getting it done, fixed the other issue preventing me from passing safety, printed me a new passing safety test and sent me out the door..$176. Eric was friendly and honest. I originally took my car to E P Auto years ago. They provided a diagnosis which was inexpensive which another another repair place did not have, Later Eric diagnosed correctly a problem at which even the dealer was unable to do. E P Auto is completely honest and incredibly competent. I have depended on them for years and never been disappointed. Their recommendations have always been excellent and practical - honest analysis and the lowest cost way to repair problems. You usually have to make a non-emergency appointment a week or two in advance. I now have a son who lives in the area going to E P Auto. Highly recommend! read more

I hesitate to write a review because it will likely increase the time to get a car in to be serviced, but EP Auto is by far the best place to take your car. I took a Ford Explorer in after a few estimates from other shops because of a whining noise. The other shops suggested several thousans of dollars for repair and EP Auto made the repairs for no cost. It wasn't an easy process as Eric and his mechanics tries multiple fixes. There were several fuel pumps, power steering pumps, and finally a bushing or joint connection( i don't know much about cars), but EP Auto finally found the issue fixed it and said that it was no charge for the repair. The pain needed to find the problem and the challenge to fix a unique issue was payment enough for the shop and the let me go with no charge. Seriously?! Who does that? They did ask me to never bring the car back because it would likely trigger PTSD, but due to the time required to fix the issue they did the repair for no cost. Most shops would charge all those hours in labor but EP counted diagnostic hours as credit for the repair. Without a doubt they are the best shop in the Valley, State, and likely the World. read more

After bouncing around several shops for several years I went here on a family member's recommendation. I've been going to EP for several years now and won't go anywhere else. The problem with a lot of shops is who is doing the wrenching: you can have an honest shop owner with a dishonest or incompetent employee. At EP Auto the owner, Eric, and his son are in the shop, with the cars, doing the jobs. They are great at what they do, and they do it honestly. I've developed so much trust in this shop I now just leave my cars there and tell them to do what needs doing, no "pre-authorization" required. I gave them that proverbial blank check recently after hauling my car into the dealer for warranty work and got a long, expensive list of "needed" repairs. I turned that list over to EP Auto and asked Eric to do what was needed--and after inspecting my car Eric told me my car was fine, and charged me nothing.
