He told us that had we not come in, our SUV could have caught on fire as there was a fuel leak. Went to Mitch with an air conditioning issue during a heat wave this week. I called in the afternoon and was able to get an appointment the next morning. He accurately diagnosed the issue and fixed the problem for a reasonable cost. He was not overbooked and I waited only 90 mins for the repair. While there I spoke to a young woman who has been going to Mitch for 3 years after being treated unfairly by other shops. Good, fair-priced repairs. They finished my repairs 3 days later than what they originally told me. Basically, if you want stuff done on your car for a good price but you don't need your car back immediately, I would take it to them. I've talked to the business owner at Mitch's AutoWorks about your situation and concern. He stated he gave you a quote that you agreed to; both parts and services. After the services were rendered, the Secretary billed you out. Mitch and the Secretary stated you seemed okay with everything before and after the services. They didn't realize you were upset until after your comment on Yelp. Mitch's concern is he never received any questions or concerns before the services or even after the services were billed out. Mitch stated he would have addressed your concern if you had stated them beforehand. We want to give the support/advise for the next time any incidents might happen; to both the customer and the business owner. Our question to you is, how could Mitch help you at this point? Customer Resolution Department My review does not say anything about me not agreeing to pay. I agreed to the service and paid. My review simply explains that I was overcharged for things. Mitch told me himself in a conversation after the fact that he paid $225 for the alternator. Yelp led me to Mitch and I want people to know what to expect if they go there. It is my fault for trusting that he was quoting me a fair price when I told him to go ahead and do the repair. I should have told him I would do some research and then get back with him. My fault for trusting him. His fault for overcharging for parts. It is simply dishonest to itemize a bill that claims the part costs $400.60 that in reality he paid $225 for and admitted to it after I posted a review on yelp. Sorry, I didn't address the question. In my little fantasy world, I believe that people are trying to be honest and deal with people fairly and not trying to take advantage of situations. It was a pain to tow my van over to Mitch's shop and was prepared to pay what it cost to get it fixed and I had put a lot of trust in the reviews. Drove by a lot of shops on my way being towed there...I thought maybe my experience would be a pleasant one like all of the other reviews. So, I blindly trusted that I was being treated fairly. Everything in my world is not a negotiation. I expect people to give me quotes that reflect actual costs. I know parts are marked up by mechanics. Mitch can do nothing because the damage is done. I like doing business with people I can trust without verifying. Yes, I didn't complain to him because I only looked up the price for an alternator after I was home and had paid for it. I really should have looked up the price before I said yes and then made the uncomfortable call to Mitch and told him how much he was working me over in parts cost and then negotiated a better price...but there again, I just like trusting that I am being treated honestly by fellow human beings. read more

Mitch is a kinda nice guy. DO NOT USE HIM! He used to be the best mechanic in town. Unfortunately I discovered that Mitch has become very dishonest and spitting out lies. I had not been to him for years. Then I brought new air conditioning system parts to him to install. I dropped off my SUV on a Thursday morning. HE DID NOT WORK ON IT FOR 3 DAYS! I had to go babysit him to make sure he did it! To make things worse, my a.c. compressor clutch Did not engage And a week later after throwing parts at recommended by Mitch, My compressor clutch STILL DOES NOT ENGAGE. I paid him $386 for an a.c. system that does not blow any cold air, and the clutch does not engage. He says, I've ran a few years and everything looks good. Bring it back for a diagnosis. WHAT THE HECK DID HE DO WITH IT THAT HE DOES NOT KNOW THE PROBLEM??? So, Trusting him against my gutt feeling that he is lying, I BRING it back, and this time "Doc" Diagnosed it and says my Engine control module is bad. Then still with NO A.C. Mitch Hastings charges me another $80 just for that. I told him that should be part of the $386 I already paid, He says "every time you bring in your car it will be at least another $80, TIME IS MONEY MAN!" Well enjoy this review Mitch! I regularly visit from out of town and this particular time I was scheduled very tight with appointments from salt lake to Springville. While coming out of an appointment I noticed some squeeling from the power steering. I stopped at an auto parts store and topped off the fluid. The guy at the store took a quick look and said he thought it was a leak that drained into the rack and pinion boot. He quoted me a price of $320 with an exchange of the old rack and pinion core told me it was a job for a pro and would take awhile. That was Friday late evening. Saturday morning all the fluid had leaked out and I began calling rental car agencies to rent and make my scheduled appointments for Saturday Sunday and Monday. I looked online for a repair shop and began calling. Surprisingly most were closed, but Mitch's answered. I explained my situation and time frame and he said if it was still drivable to bring it down and he would take a quick look at it for me. I did so and he immediately assessed the same thing. I told him I wouldn't be back in town for at least a week maybe more and would need to park it at his place until I could return. He said no problem. When told of the quote by the parts store he matched it. I left my tacoma pickup and attended to my appointments in Salt Lake. Later that day I received a call from Mitch stating it was done. My weekend was saved by his quick attention and he had a pleasant personality. Same day turn around on a Saturday to a first time customer is not normal. The whole experience was five star.
