I have rented cars for years throughout the U.S. and consistently found Enterprise to be the best ! The Ridgewood office proved invaluable in helping me out in two highly strsssful situations even though I was a new client for that office... It became obvious why Ashley had reached the position of regional manager at a very young age. She is bright, focused and dedicated to deliver excellence. I've always had a good experience prior to this past rental. This was a terrible experience and if I never see enterprise again, I'll be happy. This went through my insurance company. I had to keep filling the right passenger tire with air - so much so that I ended up buying an air compressor to fill the tire. When I called to swap out the car, they didn't have one and were supposed to call me back - that never happened. I finally had to call and they swapped it out after two weeks. Their answer? Oh you could have come here every day and we would have filled it up for free. Right. I'm supposed to drive to their location from wherever I am to fill up a tire? I don't think so. They never offered to change the tire - nothing. It was an unsafe situation to which there was no urgency on their part. I was promised the car had Carplay, which I use for navigation. I travel at night quite a bit and need navigation. Carplay rarely worked - I informed them of that issue when I called to tell them about the tire - no one cared. In the meantime, my insurance company was paying for this car and I had to pay an additional $500 due to the body shop keeping my car longer than anticipated. The final insult was charging me $5 for bringing the car back just a tad short. When I brought back the car to be swapped out, it was over the amount I had taken it out at. Did I receive a refund? Absolutely not! All in all, this was a TERRIBLE experience! I will never recommend Enterprise in Ridgewood NJ and will not use them again. read more

I called this location prior to making a reservation through Costco to see if they could pick up. I was in the pick up location, but was informed that no vehicles were available until later in the evening and that there were no economy cars. I didn't want to spend a lot on a rental car on my trip, so I asked if they could honor the Costco reservation with any vehicle that came in. I was told yes, but that the vehicles were not expected to be returned until 4:30p. The rep said that I could call back within an hour to see if any vehicles were returned earlier than anticipated to get an earlier rental. I did just that and was told by a different rep that they would not honor the price even though a vehicle was available. It was a standard from an economy. When I asked how much the cost different was he said five dollars, but that he wouldn't be able to honor the price on the original reservation. He said there was a misunderstanding, but last I checked, I don't have any comprehension issues, and I took the time to call and make sure the reservation cost would be honored prior to even booking the reservation. So - 1. I was told two different things by two different people at the same location prior to, and after booking my reservation. And 2. They wouldn't match a five dollar difference in cost to honor a reservation that I was able to make online, even though they didn't have vehicles, which is not my problem. Needless to say, I canceled the reservation with this location. Rented from the Mahwah location instead, who both picked me up and honored the reservation price. I am very disappointed with this establishment. I have been renting vehicles from them over the past few years, but this time was very upsetting. I am moving my daughter into college this weekend. I needed to rent a large SUV which I have done in the past. I spoke to someone yesterday from there and I told them that, it would have to be put on a debit card because I do not have any credit cards and they assured me that everything would be fine as long as I brought my passport as a second form of ID. When I showed up there this morning, they told me that they would not rent me the SUV and they wouldn't even stand there to discuss, the circumstances with me as they walked away. Last Fri @4:00, I picked up a car from this location. A young woman was there seemingly alone, handling another customer. She came to me next, had my reservation and began tge transaction. She explained that, due to a major rush of 82.com 9rentals earlier, there were no compact cars which woukd "fit' into my allotted per day from my insurance. Needing a car I had to take the Jeep at a higher rate. I was so angry at being hut, then being hut by the knowledge I'd be paying more for an accident that wasn't my fault. Upon arriving home I got a call from thus dame person, telling me that her manager was going to let me keep the Jeep , at the lower rate. Rather than being on a wait list for a smaller car. For her to express how bad she felt about my situation and the manager doing what he/she did, it was incredibly kind - helpful and having the customer in mind. Be VERY careful before coming to this location. My (senior citizen) mother came for a rental car, covered by her insurance while her car was being repaired. They put her in their most expensive car (knowing the insurance agency was paying) and gobbled up the entire allowance from her insurance agency as fast as possible. She explained the situation and they said they would lower the rate. They didn't. It was a trick of semantics to confuse and older woman and milk her insurance money. And now: my (again, senior citizen) mother is left without a car, walking to doctor's appointments. The new manager is very good at nodding and pretending to understand while completely screwing A SENIOR CITIZEN. I hope Enterprise corporate takes a close look at this location. Judging from some of the reviews, some of them must be fake. If you do rent from here with any regularity, then you know that the old manager was excellent. It is not the same story with the new manager. She is hostile to the customers & a nightmare to work with in resolving any issues. Katie has an attitude that has right working with the public. Katie worked with me to put me in the right vehicle and a decent price. She even switched me when I wasn't happy with the first car. (It was fine just didn't want to spend that much $$.) All while being super helpful and kind. A few months ago Jordan did the same thing for me for another trip I took to SC. Ok I know that sounds like what every car rental place does--or should do. I did text Jason to extend my rental. Responded immediately. Contacted Jason when I was ready to return. Set up return at another location as it was closer to my car which was being repaired. I recently moved to Ridgewood and rented a car from this location! Very unprofessional and prejudice! I picked up the car and it WAS NOT inspected properly. It was raining and the car was just received from a previous driver. They didn't properly clean car before giving it to me. (I made no complaint) He did a quick walk to the back of the car. And sides. NOW when returning the car. He stands on the side step of the Infinity QX80 and looks at the top of the hood and roof. And says Yhe car is damage from Hail. IT NEVER HAILED while I had the car. He said to me he knows this. I also told him he didnt inspect the car when he gave it to me. It was raining and he had a full size umbrella in his hand. He said it's also his word against mine. (When is that ever the reply in customer service) they haven't closed out the bill and no one gets back to me. I now emailed corporate and am waiting on them. Make sure you inspect the car prior and have them do their job properly. Companies do try to put customers at fault and if you not paying attention u will be paying for someone else damages. read more

I walked out of Rt 17 Enterprise because the manager was so rude and dismissive. Apparently we had made reservations at Maple ave Ridgewood location, but walked into the Paramus location. Instead of being helped he offered us Maple ave phone number due to the fact "there was no way he could offer us the price we were clearly told by the representative from the day before!" He then rudely continued to tell us "Ridgewood would be the same thing! " Well, we welcomed that challenge and left. Pleasantly greeted by the young lady Jordan, she was extremely helpful, polite and more than happy to accommodate our original reservation at the price that was offered and due to lack of inventory even upgraded the car. I could already see the nightmare it would be to deal with her- she was fighting with someone else who also had a problem with her when we stopped in. I was in Ridgewood visiting family and needed a car to get me and my 16 month old back and forth to Staten Island. The first car I picked was a compact Chevy Cruz. The car seat fit, although the front passenger seat needed to be completely pushed up and the back of the seat totally upright- not comfortable for any passenger. When I took the car above 30 mph, it was clear something was off with the alignment. I called and was told to bring the car back to swap it for a different one- I was surprised they didn't offer to come to my location with a different car, which I'm told should have happened. I was very disgruntled at this point with the whole experience. I went back and spoke with Glen, who I'm assuming is the manager, sincerely apologized and allowed me to take an upgraded car with no cost and threw in a free tank of gas. He was very concerned about my and my baby's safety and really tried very hard to make sure I felt better and more comfortable. While the experience started off negatively, the customer service was excellent and very accommodating. I would use this service again and I would recommend it to others in the area. read more

I was told an amount of $54 in taxes plus 110 and extra 10 days to renew the car. She told me my insurance would cover my full 10 days of the rental plus the insurance. read more

I started using the Enterprise in Ridgewood years ago...my car was having some work done and I needed transportation. They were lovely to deal with over the phone, the rental prices were competitive and it was convenient. I continued using this location after I moved into Manhattan 7 years ago...their weekend rates made it worth the train ride out to Ridgewood and, as always, the staff continued to be friendly, professional and helpful. Last week I needed a car for 4 days - the pre-purchase for gas was a great new feature. When I got stuck in traffic and was unable to return it to their location by 6pm, I called and asked if I could return it to a different location. Within a few minutes, and for a minimal upcharge, they arranged for me to drop off my car at a location that was more convenient for me. I would highly recommend Enterprise and specifically, the Ridgewood staff, to anyone in need of a car rental. I only wish they supplied every car with an EZPASS. read more
