Thank god I did not get sent to LODI where my husband was not only tricked into buying insurance that they knew very well he did not need - also they told him to use THEIR EZ-PASS which meant him loosing his EZ PASS discount and instead going to them (like door dash - added cost to retail) ANTHONY in Paramus was such a gentleman, pleasant and truly an honest person and a pleasure to do business with him. Don't ever rent from this facility. They master in the "bait and switch". I tried renting a sedan from here on their website. The website showed sedans were available and issued me a confirmation after booking. When I arrived to pick up the car, the person told me there were no sedans available. The only thing that was available were SUV's at a higher price. After she refused to rent me the SUV at the original price I had for my sedan rental, I left and got a better vehicle at Hertz in Paramus. I was told I could not escalate with a local manager. I could only escalate with customer service on their website. I wish I could give this location 0 stars, because that is what they deserve. Never again, Enterprise. This place is the absolute worst place to rent a car. Do not rent from Enterprise on Route 17th South in Paramus,NJ. The they gave me an auto that had only a 1/4 tank of gas, it was dirty and the tire pressure light came on within 48 hours. I then added air to the tires and the light would not go off. Additionally, the wiper fluid was almost empty. I called at 10 am today to get a replacement car since my tire pressure being low would make the car unsafe to drive. The manager stated they did not have any SUVs but he would try to locate another one and get back to me when he had one. I never heard back from him as of 7pm now the location is closed for the day. This company needs to monitor their management, especially the Route 17 South location in Paramus, NJ. If the manager doesn't follow up on things chances are the staff will not. read more

I deal with the different enterprises pretty regularly because of my job. I can tell you they are not at all equal. They are a business so obviously they want to upgrade and you sell you insurance but some reps could be pushy. My job set me up with a rental reservation over the weekend and some locations were unable to rent anything to me for the amount allowed and insisted on upselling me. This was the only location that was willing to accommodate me, provided me with an upgrade, and understood that if they didn't, then they would have rented one less car over the weekend. The cars are all sanitized and maintained regularly. The staff was professional and friendly. This location is conveniently located on route 17 and the staff will pick up if your local. You can rent a car for the day for about the same price as an Uber ride or two so it's a no brainer where to go if you need to rent a car. read more

Went over to Enterprise a few hours later and the manager stated, that yes they don't have the economy car that I wanted and was willing to upgrade me for an additional charge. Decided to wait and check out other rental options with local agencies. It would make sense and positive customer service to upgrade my rental with no additional charge, since they cannot produce the economy car that was agreed upon. Not a great way to do business. I was really so pleasantly surprised at how professional and efficient the staff were. I ended up dealing with 3 or 4 of them and they were all the same in a good way. The ABSOLUTE WORST RENTAL AGENCY EVER!!!! We had an appointment to pick up a car at 1 o'clock and when we showed up the doors were locked and they refused to turn on their computers and unlock the door and rent us our reserved vehicle. We had NO idea that they closed at 1pm on a Saturday, nor did the agent tell us this on the phone. You'd think that in busy Bergen County, NJ we would have been adequately and rightfully informed!!! Unfortunately, the customer service capabilities of this location is sub-par. What started with a booking through the corporate site for a 12 passenger van for a single-day use has turned into a 2 week (and counting) saga to get a credit for additional insurance that was waived from the start of the reservation. Somehow, a credit for ~$60 (for insurance and other nonsense) has turned into a complete waste of time and energy with only a credit card charge dispute left for me. Very disappointed with Liam, Adam and the "accounting back-office" that cannot seem to figure out how to give a credit. Never mind that phone calls are never returned and I'm simply placed on hold only to find out that the person I'm on hold for left for lunch. This is the level of service and training that one should expect from this location if you should have a billing dispute. In a word, it's amazing this is the caliber that Enterprise trains its people in. What an experience for the customer! Fortunately, there are other rental agencies available and chargebacks that Enterprise can now deal with. read more

I was surprised to see some negative reviews (maybe bad old management?), I had a great experience at this location in Paramus. I held a reservation for a car via Kayak.com and was able to cancel if needed. No credit card info was needed until the day I went there to rent the car. Justin, Brittany, and everyone there were very friendly and helpful, even on the phone calling in. No hassle, just picked the car up, which was ready within a couple of minutes, and went where I had to go. I was even able to keep my car that I used to get there in their lot in the back which was very helpful and convenient. I have had to secure an attorney to resolve the situation ... If you are not going to heed my advice at least do yourself a favor and take before and after photos with your phone... Too many issues with this transaction and then to top it off, paid much more than the online advertised weekly rate for the vehicle. To begin with, when making the reservation, I was told I needed to bring a utility bill to confirm my address. This was because I was using a debit card. One agent insisted I couldn't rent a car w/o a utility bill; then the manager said no problem, all I needed was my insurance card & license. That was just the first headache. Completed the reservation after 2 calls; specifically asked for a full size sedan. I explained I needed to fit 3 car seats in the back side by side. Still, they showed up in an economy car to pick me up from the dealership. Could not get my car seats in. Luckily, one kid was not present or it would have been a safety hazard. We headed back to the Enterprise where I needed to wait over 20 minutes for them to find a car that would fit. Had to shuffle all my belongings and car seats out of the first rental. Again, I was told my options were limited by my choice of payment, even though they were holding over $300 in my checking account. Since they had none of the class of the car I'd reserved, (except one with a broken stereo), they offered me a minivan for a slight up-charge. Just a side note, I've been to another Enterprise office (Oakland) where they upgraded me to a pickup truck at no extra fee when they didn't have my requested car. I was unsure how long I needed the car; the agent insisted it was no problem, if I needed it longer, just keep it and they would charge me when I brought it backed. Because of a delay with my car repair, I needed the car for 6 days. Expecting to pay the weekly rate I saw online (194.90) plus tax for an estimated $240 total, I was shocked to receive a bill of $337.00 at checkout. The manager, Sabrina, skirted my direct question about a weekly rate vs. 7x the day rate. She insisted the week rate was not available "for me." The rate advertised on the website was a complete mystery to the staff. Even though specifics like the location ewere entered. After speaking to 3 agents I got a $40 refund. Still paid $60 more than the online price, and I'm including taxes and fees. If you want to waste your time, be ripped off, and given irrational explanations by incompetent agents, go ahead and give this place a try. Won't be using them again at this location. read more

It was at this point that we realized you need to leave a lot more than an hour to get from the UES to the Enterprise on Rte 17 in Paramus. Luckily for us, Joanne was working today. Affraid that we wouldn't make it, we once again contacted Joanne who had helped to take our reservation earlier. She assured us that we would get our car so that we could make it to our last snowboarding weekend of the season. This is the one of the worst experiences of Enterprises I have ever went to. I had a reservation for a small car. I was 1hr & a half late. I had other obligations. From the other locations, they'll give you a call & ask if you're still picking up your reservation. I didn't get a call nor did I ask to get something equivalent to what I wanted. I live near the Enterprise branch in Hackensack, but I rent from the Paramus office because it is run so efficiently. Pierre is the latest in a succession of excellent managers at the branch, and the staff is always efficient and pleasant to deal with.
