I didn't have a car for 6 months and rented cars weekly or monthly. When Cheyenne was there this was the best location. Unfortunately after Cheyenne left (I was told he was promoted and is now at a different location), this location went downhill FAST. Shane is the absolute worst. I'm SHOCKED that someone with such poor customer service skills got promoted. On my most recent (LAST EVER) visit, I walked in and was not greeted. He finished up with another customer and then continued to not acknowledge me. I sat and waited while he took a call that came in after I did and talked to them for a while without ever acknowledging that I was waiting. Then he hung up that call and just worked on his computer silently talking to himself as if he was alone. He ignored me for a good 20 minutes until I finally walked up (I was the ONLY person in there with him) and asked to be helped. He then rushed through the process, didn't do the walk through, and pretended he didn't know me even though at the end he made a comment like "I know you don't want insurance" which proved he did know me. He was just so so rude to me. It was unbelievable. And this is just the most recent time! I'm not even going to recount all of the other numerous times he has been rude. ZERO stars for Shane, 1 for Edgar because at least he tries, but he seems stressed overwhelmed and pissed off most of the time I see him in there. He's not as bad as Shane but he's still pretty bad at customer service. It's too bad they lost Cheyenne. One additional star because the cars are usually good (although they have a serious deficiency when it comes to their key fob batteries - they're often broken or super low which is a big issue when they rarely give you the back up manual key). But other than that the cars are good. If you must go to Enterprise, go to the Alhambra location instead - they are much friendlier and more helpful. But honestly, five stars for the Budget on Arroyo. Those guys are the best! They helped me out with multiple long term rentals. The cars are slightly less luxurious, but the whole experience is so much more affordable! And best of all at Budget I don't have to deal with Shane being rude a-hole. read more

Rented a car from this branch and a few things A. Car that was rented to me smelled like vomit after having it a few days( the air freshener wore off I guess) It was so bad I was starting to get headaches. B. The car had a scratch in the windshield that turned out to be a crack. Which got bigger little by little after cleaning the windshield with a squeegy a couple times. I believe water got inside the crack and the heat made it expand, thus cracking it further. I am being charged for this damage that I had nothing to do with. I am going to get to the bottom of this but I will not pay for damage I didn't even cause !! I have a garage and drove to the beach a few times .. THATS IT ! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE AS ALL THEY HAVE IS EXOTIC CARS. I ONLY RENTED FROM HERE BECAUSE THE AUTO SHOP SENT ME THERE This is in no way a reflection on the employees. I've rented 3 cars recently from Enterprise, the first was from the Colorado Blvd. location and that car was old and had stains everywhere. I also had to wait 45 mins to even get in it when I picked it up. At THIS location, I've had 2 super clean vehicles and have been in and out with the car in less than 10 minutes. The staff is super nice and clearly they are held to a bit of a higher standard here. The manager even texted me near the end of my last reservation to check in on things. Happy to be renting from this location again while my car is in the shop. read more

Friendly staff & quick service- helps to call ahead. My car has seen better days and while it's still been getting me around locally, I don't trust it for anywhere that's more than 50 miles away. Sucks when you like to travel and there's so many cool places to go. So... rental car! I've been to my fair share of rental car places in the area. I used to go to Avis, but their recent policy change sent me to Enterprise. As far as Enterprise goes, this was a new location (for me) and the best experience I had with them. Usually, I try to reserve rentals at least a couple days in advance - but this was a last minute trip - so here I was multitasking at the mall trying to find a car that was available NOW. After calling about 5 Enterprise locations in the area, I finally found one with a car for me to rent - plus the guy on the phone seemed really funny and nice. I told him I was on my way and found the place really close to me - just north of South Pas & the 110fwy on Fair Oaks. If you passed the BBQ place, you just missed it. The guy, Michael, already had my paperwork started and ready to go. It was even a good car- low miles- super comfy- and lots of trunk space! They even double checked the tires for me to make sure I was good to go for my long trip. I was in the rental and out the gate within minutes. When I came back to return the car, everything was super easy & really quick. Once again, the people there were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I feel bad that the previous reviewer had such a poor experience, but perhaps they had time since then to work out the kinks. The only thing I didn't like was that they close at noon on Saturdays and aren't open on Sundays - so, if you want a car for just a Saturday, you'll get stuck with it all weekend. Adds up. Will never rent from this company again. Only used them because my auto insurance sent me there. Rented a car from their Alhambra location and only drove it 2 days to work and back less than 20 miles total. Returned it to this Fair Oaks location and got a call an hour and a half later that there was damage under the door. I will fight this and win beware of any damage when you rent and make them document it even under the car not visible when standing up. They did not even check the car when I returned it and probably charge multiple customers for the same damage. read more

Ozzie helped me when I got there and they did not have my Compact model car so he offered me a Barracuda which I did not want for a long range trip to Utah to go snowboarding. He then offered me a Chevy Malibu which had good ratings and good mileage so I took that one since it was getting late. He did say that if I waited he could get me a Compact car, but it was getting close to 6pm and I did not want to wait. When I returned to drop off the car the person checking me in was very efficient. I asked about being dropped off at home and ir was raining. Wil the assistant manager told me that if I waited someone would take me since I lived further than the 2-3 mile range normally allowed. I really appreciated what he did and I was not in a hurry to get home so I waited until the driver came back and he took me home. I never knew that this location was there because the sign was not that visible but I will use them in the future because they had great service. read more

Four words: Don't. Waste. Your. Time. I normally use the Enterprise branch located at Colorado and Allen, where the staff knows me, or at least appreciates my loyalty as a customer. (I rent from them fairly regularly for work and whenever Bumpy is in the shop, which is a lot these days.) I was a bit apprehensive about being referred to a different branch by AAA when they made my reservation after my recent car accident. However, I figured one branch wouldn't be much different from the next. Oh, how wrong I was. The customer service overall is abysmal. The wait time for a car is extraordinarily long. Employees stop working with you in the middle of your transaction to work with another customer. It's woefully understaffed. They hardly have any cars on the lot. The car I was put in for the first couple of weeks after my accident was a Chevy Cobalt with an unpleasant odor and a broken driver's seat. Every time I came to a stop, the seat jerked back sharply - wow, that felt great on my aching shoulder! Considering what a hassle it was to deal with them when I went in the first time, and realizing I'd be doing a minimal amount of driving, I decided to tough it out until I needed to turn in the car before leaving for vacation. When I brought it back, I mentioned the issue to Jen, the only decent employee at this branch. (She's also the only reason they get two stars instead of one.) She promised she'd take care of me when I returned. When I came back to town, I called the branch and Jen picked me up within about an hour. However, after 45 minutes, I still didn't have a car and they didn't have one on the lot for me. This was especially frustrating considering they knew what I needed when I called, knew they didn't have what I needed at their branch, but went ahead and brought me in anyways so I could sit and wait while they half-heartedly attempted to get their shit together. I was offered a mini-van, which would be too big to fit in my parking space. The employees were calling around trying to find me a car when I finally asked what exactly was going on. (God forbid they actually let me, the customer, know what's happening.) Finally, fed up, I asked to be driven home so I could at least get some work done. Jen was apologetic, while her colleague Rayshon seemed not to care one way or the other whether he helped me. Meh! Anyhow, to summarize, this Enterprise branch sucks balls. [UPDATE: I was sent a message, public and private, by a Melissa, who wanted me to call her and offer more details. I told her my review contained tons of details. Never heard back. They just like to put public comments so other reviewers think they care. They don't. Stay away from this place.] This place sucks. And Jose who works there really sucks. I go to drop off my car at a body shop a mile away from Enterprise. My appointment to drop off the car is at 9:00. I call Enterprise and ask Jose to pick me up at 9:30. He refuses. He says I have to call from there when I'm done with the paperwork and that they'll come right over to pick me up. I told him the paperwork was already done and to pick me up at 9:30. He refuses. I tell him that I don't want to do it his way because I know there will be some BS when I call ... that they're busy, that he's alone in the office, that they have to pick up other people, etc. Jose says, no, that's not gonna happen. We'll come right over. At around 9:25 Enterprise is called and say they're coming right over. They are one mile away. Five minutes pass. Ten minutes pass. Fifteen minutes pass. Twenty minutes pass. They nice lady at the auto body place calls them. Enterprise tells them that they left immediately and should soon be there. Twenty five minutes pass. Thirty minutes pass. Nobody. At that point I decide I would never give my money to Enterprise. They are liars. They play games. They don't care about clients. So the owner of the body shop drives me to Hertz. While driving there, the owner's wife calls the owner to say that they didn't come because they had other pickups to make. No call. No apology. No nothing expect boldfaced lies. Buyer beware here. They've demonstrated ... especially Jose ... that he'd rather lie to you and tell you something false and put you through waiting than to have an ounce of courage and tell the truth and allow you to make a decision of whether you want to wait. It's a sneaky, horrid way to conduct business. Shame on them. read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Why do I have to carry this around all day? Annoying - Car Rental Near Me - Pasadena, California

I needed a rental to get me through two weeks, and this Enterprise was the closest. A male sales associate walked me through all of the paperwork, asking me if I wanted X, Y, and Z. After answering all of his questions, he circled some boxes and told me where to initial and sign. After I signed everything, he showed me to a car with what appeared to be a spare tire -- apparently it was just damaged, ugly, and mismatched...but not a spare. Ok, fine. I just needed it to be drivable. When I returned the car, I found out that he circled not the boxes I told him I needed but the option that would cost the most. There is no way I would have wanted all of the insurance or the road side assistance -- I have AAA! Owning up to my mistake of believing the salesman to be honest and therefore not reading the boxes, I paid almost $700 for 2 weeks with a damaged car. I won't give this company free advertisement by saying how much it should have cost, but I was *without a doubt* ripped off. Don't trust these guys. read more

These people were very friendly, cheerful, and extremely helpful. I got in a car accident the other day and was in need of a vehicle. I called the Enterprise location on Colorado Blvd. between Parkwood and Greenwood right after I got off the phone with my insurance company to make arrangements. Needless to say, things with that location did not work out. My insurance company made arrangements with this particular location that I am reviewing and I wish I would have just stuck to it! After the disaster with the other location (they said they would call me at 10:30 am the following day and then said they "didn't mean to convey that message to me" and then made arrangements with this location), they came right out and picked me up. I was expecting them to take longer, but in no time, I got a call saying that they were at my house! They brought me to their location and were very fast, friendly, and helpful. I saw a new Toyota Camry in the lot and I was able to drive off in it in no time and they will deal with the insurance company directly for payments so I don't have to worry about getting reimbursed. If you need to rent a car - this is a great location! I highly recommend it and if I ever need to rent a car again, this is the location I am going to call. read more

This place seems to be shady as my experience with them over the weekend and what I read on these previous reviews. Instead of mentioning to my friend of a prior account problem on a previous rental the manager says come right in and we will set you up,once we arrived the manager didn't even bother to look at us after his name was mentioned,he let his staff deal with us,the woman was a bit snappy and since my friend thought she really needed the car she was going to agree with the prior rental disagreement and the current rental. Totaling more then $500,with that money my friend could do upgrades to her vehicle and not worry about renting. A) my friend should have worked out this situation months or maybe years ago. (not sure what that deal is) B) establishment dealt with the situation very unprofessional. I fly from San Francisco to LA every month. Instead of renting a car at the LAX Hertz which I used to do, I rent at Enterprise at Fair Oaks Ave. There are many good reasons: (1) Free pickup at my place at San Marino (2) Weekly rental is actually cheaper than the weekly rates at Hertz LAX (3) I like the cars at Enterprise at Fair Oaks Ave. the VW and Charger were particularly my favorites, rather than the boring Camry at Hertz. (4) I get reward points which entitle me to get a day for free, almost every other month. (5) The staff is quite helpful, especially Evan. (6) The location is quite nice and safe, unlike the windy place at Hertz where the customers were herded from the shuttles to the bulletin boards for your name & car (and sometimes you may not find your name even you had a reservation online.) Kudos to the guys at Enterprise at S Fair Oaks Ave., and to Enterprise for the rental promotions and discounts, and their great selection of cars. read more

Let me first state that I have since rented again and did not go back to this branch. My last rental with the branch was pleasant enough. My reservation was upgraded when I arrived. I did however have to have car washed again before I took it. Black car are hard to clean...this I know cause I drive them for a living. So I refused to take a water streaked card off lot. Also I don't understand why this branch is a few dollars cheaper than others within a few mile radius. The last rental I opted to go to the Burbank Airport. I did call the Fair Oaks branch to make the original reservation but I was spoken to very rudely and then called my neighbor hood store (Lincoln Ave) and a pleasant young lady explained to me that the store was not open on the holiday.....fair enough. Don't understand why ms thing at F.O. store couldn't be as helpful. Also know that I did have a conversation with a manager of sorts at this store a few months ago regarding the rate difference of stores in MY community and their community. Of course he attempted to make me THINK they weren't gauging my hood....but I DO KNOW a few things about marketing & gauging....whatever dude. Yawl make Black folks and other in HOODS PAY MORE. We rented a full-sized car for our holiday drive to Florida. The first car we got was a Nissan Altima, and although I'd sat in it to make sure it was comfortable, my wife didn't get a chance until we got home, and because she's taller than I am, she had a different experience. We called the next day and (I think his name was) John switched it out for us, no questions asked and with out hesitation, for a Toyota Camry which was AWESOME! We were super comfortable for the 3 weeks we had the car. We didn't wait long, picking up OR dropping off (which is great because picking up, we had a 5-year-old with us). And we got a great rate. The staff at the branch here is very helpful and professional. Jose has helped me several times - he is very friendly and goes out of his way to help out when he can. Since this branch is small, however, it sometimes gets too crowded, so you have to bear that in mind. They have fewer staff and therefore you need to use your brains and schedule a pickup at least an hour in advance (think 4 - 5 staff and 40 - 50 customers on a crowded day). If you're from Pasadena, the Pasadena ARTS bus #20 will get you right at their doorstep for 75c. read more

Was sent here by a body shop. When referred by a shop, usually a car rental company with work with you on whatever the ins agency will give you......well the last time I was here...they said they did not have any cars in my range..and I had to pay $3 more/day to get into a car (the body shop even agreed and said they would call them). When I had to rent a car from this location again. I asked if they can work within what the ins company pays...and they agreed. Well the bottom line...my ins company pays $30/day...I thought the car was small but its within what the Ins pays..so I stayed with it and did not complain. Later that evening, I noticed they put me in a car that cost $24/day. They did not say anything to me at all knowing I would have the car for a week or two...nothing about..we can get you in a bigger car to maximize your ins car rental range...NOTHING. I had to call the next day and asked them why they did not give me a car using up my full daily car rental per diem....of course they changed the conversation..saying they can get me in a bigger car that afternoon. I guess even with the body shop calling them...they did not care to use all my per diem...or even an upgrade...they did the opposite. When I returned the car...all they cared about was, if I can give them an excellent rating when Enterprise calls me...THEY certainly did not care about their ratings when they rented me the car!!!! When I asked the body shop if there is another Enterprise I can use...they said I had to use this one...go figure...no wonder the Enterprise does not have to give good service...the customers have to go there. read more

Beware: No tact, no class. Just a suit that implies both. I rented a car for the weekend, after explaining my trip in long-form to the guy on the phone and again when picking up the car. Going to SF, be back in two days... so, I'm going to SF for work. I'm driving 1,000 miles, two days. There was a 200 mile/day limit on the MB I rented and was not aware, nor did they inform me. When charging me after returning the car he just looks at the screen and says "No, you agreed to that". Back to his computer. He didn't explain to me further. When Shasta came back - that's the guy who rented the car to me to begin with- I said "Next time someone tells you they're going to SF for two days, do the math. 1,000 miles in two days...You might want to pay for the unlimited mileage car." He says "That's your company's agreement." He looked blown away, like whooooaaaaahhh whaaattttt. The left rear tire was half flat when I picked it up. It was the only luxury car in the lot so I had to keep my tongue and go put air in it myself, or else risk losing the car I booked with some BS like "I can't let you take that car, I'm sorry. Take this Kia, instead." Got to SF and had to change the flat to the spare, go to Firestone for half the day and wait for the car to get fixed. When I explained this to them their attitude was "but.. uhh.... you're not blaming us, right?" No, not blaming you. You are all kings in my book. I was just stating that when a flat tire light is illuminated on the dash and it shows "Low Left Rear" before you're able to see the mileage on the screen, you're going to notice that when writing down the mileage to rent me that car, are you not? Maybe you could've fixed it instead of letting it sit in the lot until I picked it up... remember Shasta and company, I was 3 hours late picking up the car and I got four phone calls about it and a warning hat it might not be there when I got there. Lastly, I explained that I rented a Mercedes (or otherwise a luxury) from the Glendale branch when I lived in Silverlake, never had a mileage limit. The goon guy types in my name in the Highland Park enterprise search and says, "you've never rented at Highland Park." (Who said anything about Highland Park?) Then Glendale, "You've never rented at Glendale." I'm like, the one on Glendale Blvd? Yeah, dude. Here's my confirmation email... just a second... In fact, here's a dozen confirmation emails, all of which state "This vehicle comes with unlimited mileage". He didn't look, he went back to his screen, helping another guest. With some tact, he might have said, "I'm having a hard time finding rental history for you at that branch, can you maybe give me more details?" Something along those lines. Don't think that having a big corporate account is going to benefit in any way. The girl I was working with told me "Yeah, but your company is paying for it, so...." and she was the nice one. Are you implying that since they're paying for it I should let it slide that we feel we are getting ripped off? I paid $115 out of pocket and walked home. I'm going to SD Thursday, and Fresno on Friday, and that's just this week. Guess where I'm not renting a luxury car? Pasadena Enterprise? Close. ENTERPRISE ANYWHERE? yep. read more

My family and I rented a couple of vans and when we picked them up and before we took off on our trip I SPECIFICALLY asked if all the fluids were filled up, and the person specifically answered to me "yes sir". Off we went to our trip and i noticed that the front windshield glass was VERY dirty, i hit the wipers and guess what? No windshield fluid was in either car. I could not believe it! Come on! To provide a vehicle to a customer with a DIRTY windshield?? From the outside I didn't notice this when i first saw the vehicles, but when we hit the road i could not believe how dirty the glass was. Second problem. While driving we found out that one of the seat belts was not working. There is no way we were going to turn back to exchange these vehicles once we were on the road. Driving at 70 to 80 mph on the highway with a non working seat belt is completely unacceptable and dangerous. LESSON: Never trust what the sales person is telling you. Always physically check things YOURSELF before you rent a car from any of these places. I was so impressed at how low the customer service is from this place. This comes down to one thing: POOR management. Don't this people check the vehicles before they turn it in to someone else? What would be the company's excuse for this type of poor performance? Could it be that they don't have enough workers to perform all this checks? Then hire more people! Or maybe just hire another manager. read more

Make sure they will actually give you ride home! They lied to me! I called beforehand to make sure they'll take me home when I returned my rental. Told them exactly what time I'd be there and where I live, they said they'd take me home no problem long as I get there by 5:30pm. Rushed there during my super busy schedule, arrived at 4:45 pm and Ryan said NO they WON'T take me home! Made me drive all the way to the Eagle Rock location which was about to close. The girls were so accommodating and within the hour had a car perfect for me. It also rents exotic cars and is a very nice, clean spacious place. Highly recommended. read more

Do not rent mini vans from Enterprise. For 2 hours I was shopping online and found Hertz to be less expensive. Enterprise charges $89.00 a day for mini van rent versus Hertz only charges $62 a day and if you have AAA membership it is even lower $52 a day UNLIMITED mileage. Sorry Enterprise you have to lower your price especially this time where everyone is looking to save. read more

Don't rent from Enterprise, Hertz has better services and cars. They do not how to allocate the works between workers. All the workers are busy picking up customers but no one in the office to help. When i arrived to the office there were 4 customers waiting in line. I waited for 2 hours to complete the rental process. The first car i got have problem with the right mirror, it cannot adjust. The second one i got have the oil change light on. Finally i got a car without problem but it do not have the function of adjust the side mirror by press the button, you have to ask your passenger to adjust the right mirror by hand. It do not have auto window and key lock too. The WORSE car i have ever rent! read more

Enterprise is the largest car rental company in the US and now they have even more to offer! The Luxury division will deliver vehicles anywhere and direct bill your insurance company if you're in an accident and need a car. That is awesome. read more
