The staff is very friendly and helpful, they upgraded me to a full size SUV for free as a compact suv was unavailable. The deposit they require is much less than their competitors and they had no problem letting me keep the car longer than I expected to need it. Service was good, however when I picked up rental there was only 275 miles of gas DTE. When I filled it up it said that there was 480 miles DTE. I rented two cars in consecutive weeks and had the same experience in both instances, i.e. putting more gas in that what was left for me. Either the renters before me were beating the crap out of the cars or else I was getting short tanks of gas and I don't think driving habits could account for 200 miles worth of gas difference. This has been by far the worst rental experience I've ever had. Enterprise tried to scam and overcharge us for a vehicle that was supposed to be fully covered by insurance. We've now had to drive to 8 different locations, none of which had a single sedan available. The "manager" was extremely unprofessional, repeatedly asking the same questions, joking around with staff instead of helping us, and ultimately refused our form of payment. My boyfriend's card was damaged in the accident, and since they don't accept Apple Pay (which would have been far more convenient), we were left stranded without a vehicle. This location shows zero professionalism or customer service--staff were more concerned about their headphones than helping customers. I have had good experiences with Enterprise in the past, but my interaction with this particular office was highly disappointing due to surprisingly lacking customer service. I was in town for a wedding and rented a car to drive the bridal party from Chicago to Naperville for the wedding. Our car developed a slow leak and flat tire on the way. Overall, Enterprise was not particularly helpful in solving the issue, but they did waive the 1-way fee and gas refueling fee, since we coudn't effectively drive the car, which we appreicated. The best solution we came up with was to pump up the tire and drive it to the nearest Enterprise (the only one within a 15 minute radius open on a Sunday), who offered to do a vehicle exchange for us (we still had to get back to Chicago in the evening, and had paid for the car for 24 hours). This office initially seemed helpful and understanding. They were open until 2pm on this day. I initially called them at 1:30pm once we had gotten to our venue and was on the phone with them for 10 minutes. They told me to come in for the exchange. It then took 10 minutes to re-pump up the flat tire so we could safely drive the 11 minutes to the office. We called on the way (at 1:53pm) and let them know our ETA was going to be 2:03pm. We were told on the phone that we would just have to drop the keys in the drop box and there wouldn't be an option for an exchange. They told us they would "be well out of there by 2pm". We were astounded, since we assumed the office would remain open until 2pm (as posted online) and, given the phone conversation, had assumed they were willing to stay a few minutes late to help us. During that phone call, they seemed to lack any of the empathy or understanding they had shown on the previous call for our situation. Apparently it wasn't worth 5-10 minutes staying late to provide good customer service, because when we pulled into the lot at 2:03pm, they were indeed long gone, office locked and lights out. As a healthcare professional who has spent many minutes of overtime helping patients in need of assistance, I was sorely disappointed in the lack of empathy and unwillingness to go above and beyond for a customer that I experienced from this office. We had to pay for an Uber back to our wedding venue, and anticipated having to pay up to a $100 fee for an Uber back to Chicago. We were not offered any additional refund on the vehicle that we had paid to use for 24 hours and had only gotten to use for 6 hours. Enterprise's website says that "Customer Service is [their] way of life" and lists it as one of their values. They continue "our goal is to exceed every customer's expectations." In my opinion this particular office fell sadly short of that goal. read more

The team at 504 Illinois Rte 59 in Naperville have loaded inappropriate charge three times across two rentals. They are scam artists. Or at least try to be. I have lost hours recouping over $400 of charges. This is a very unethically run business. The other facility at 715 Ogden Ave. is materially more ethical and legitimate. read more

My wife picked up a car at 11, for a trip to Detroit. I asked her to bring it by the house so I could check it out because well, it's a rental car. Sure enough, the car's oil life was down to 10%. We called right away and asked if we could switch it out. "We don't have any other cars, why don't you call Firestone to see if they can get you in for an oil change." We were willing to do that and asked them to call for us because, well we are the customer. They called, couldn't get in for an oil change for several hours!? We took the car back to the branch, and suddenly, there were cars on the lot. No thanks, you missed your opportunity for good service. Oh yeah, as we were pulling away, I saw the manger walk out of his office and look at us. Yep, I saw you. You should have acted like you cared while we were there. read more

We rented a 15 seater van for a week (07/24/2021-07/31/2021) to travel to Disney World. We had our whole week planned out on our itinerary. We ran into an accident Thursday morning (07/29/2021), a flat tire. We brought the vehicle to the nearest enterprise, (1307 S Collins St Plant City, FL  33563) who told us to deliver the vehicle to a nearby Tire Choice (2102 James L Redman Pkwy Plant City, FL  33563). However, Tire Choice needed approval from the Naperville Enterprise location before they could change tires. Sadly, we called several times over the course of 3 hours until we finally got an approval. We finally got our tires replaced after almost two hours. We ended up losing much needed time that day and several reservations. It was a terrible day with many consequences afterwards, but we understand that accidents can happen, we just didn't expect this minor one to put such a major dent in our schedule of coming home safely. This accident affected our timings in returning home in a safe manner. I noticed that we were charged an additional 2 days. I was asking to waive at least 1 day from this charge as we did our best to return safely, on time, after experiencing an accident we are not at fault for. We were hopeless that the manager doesn't even want to communicate with us. I emailed them but did not get any response. We will not go to this branch anymore and will warn our family and friends. read more

This was my first time renting a car from here and they did a great job. They gave me a "free upgrade" to a Hyundai something while I didn't know the car, nor would it have been something I'd choose for myself, it drove like a dream. Getting the car was relatively quick even though they were super busy the Tuesday after Memorial Day. I didn't realize it until a few days later that my license plate on the car was actually from Florida and had I known I would've requested something else because I don't like driving around Chicago and people thinking I'm a noob who doesn't know how traffic and lights work and like they can honk and be the dominant car. But other that, all was well. I dropped the car off my last night in town and got a wrap up email at 5am the next day and a call first thing in the morning letting me know I'd forgotten my phone holder thing in the car and they'd retrieved it and were holding it at their facilities. What a total mess. I made a reservation on-line 4 days before needing the vehicle. I became member of Enterprise Plus since I have rented cars from the company before. However, when I went to pick up my car, they had no record of my reservation and did not have one car in the lot that I could use. The told me to come back tomorrow. I had just arrived in Naperville on the Amtrak train, and I needed a rental car to drive to Michigan. But the man at the office had absolutely no concern for the fact that I was stranded in Naperville. So I made a reservation at a motel. While there, I got online at Enterprise, signed in and the site had no information about my reservation even tho a had received two confirmation emails from Enterprise. Let's start the with the reservation process I understand a slight over booking to compensate for cancellation, ect., Take 8 reservations for one car and have no cars and no form of assurance that there will be a car available at any point this scenario repeats itself for 3/3 Enterprises we called. What's interesting is the uptight folks who live in Naperville Illinois actually tolerate this. Anyone who knows Naperville understands what I am talking about. Let's get on to the next point PRICE GOUGING! These guys even have the intestinal fortitude to say and I quote " supply and demand". This is Enterprises answer to telling consumers one price over the phone and a completely different price at pick up. Then they keep trying to up sell everything. I felt awful for the team at this store they where so severely understaffed that it really looked like a three ring circus. This location gave the poorest customer service I have experienced at a rental car facility. When I arrived I asked if they had any larger cars available, a female manager came over and had told the newer associate that I was working with, to put me in a Buick. I agreed to take the vehicle, and after waiting 15 mins for the associate to write me up, he was having problems. A different manager came over and said that my rental was for an intermediate and he was overruling the other manager and I had to take a Ford Focus. I was not okay with this. I was just told a Buick and waited for at least 15 mins for it. When I booked the reservation it was a charger an ultima or a midsize car. A focus is the smallest car they had. I was going to cancel and they said I could take an ultima so I sttled. I realized I forgot an I pass, so I called in and they told me to come back and get it. I drove 45 mins back to the location, and when I got there, the same manager was like "you don't have to come back, you should have called" I told him that I did call, and his people told me to come back, but trying to make the customer feel stupid, especially after inconveniencing them was a poor business move. Tonight however, was the largest inconvenience. I went to return my car after hours, and the drop box was left completely unlocked. I could have accessed 10 different sets of keys no problem. I called the roadside assistance line because it was the only way to get a hold of anyone to tell them, and they didn't help at all. They said that I should wait until tomorrow to return my car then but still be charged for another day! I said I would return it tomorrow night if I wouldn't be charged, but they said I still would be. Why should I pay more money because you forgot to lock the drop box preventing me from returning my car?? If anything you should thank me for calling to tell you that you have 10 cars that anyone walking by can just grab the keys to. You would think they would be happy somebody informed them, and send someone by to lock it up ASAP. Worst customer service. Hugely time consuming, rude managers. Avoid! read more

So this location redeemed the Enterprise brand after a fiasco only some movie script could have topped. My car was being towed from my home which is closest (practically walking distance) to the Enterprise on Trade St and Ogden. I call, the woman takes my information, tells me the rate and that a car will pick me up in an hour. Great. An hour 15 minutes go by, I call, they don't have my reservation it is at the Lake St office (much further and not the one I requested). They give me (no not transfer) the number to call, so I do, they don't have it, it's at Trade St. I tell them I was just told you have it, they transfer me to Trade St. Now mind you have an appointment that has now been rescheduled based on not receiving the rental. Where were we..oh yes, Trade St tells me they don't actually have any cars and the reservation has been transferred to Lake st. I explain that Lake st indicated they did not have my reservation, Trade St give me (again, no transfer) the number to call. I call Lake st, they just received the reservation 1 minute ago and will be there to pick me up. I hang up. The phone rings, Lake st tells me I am out of their driving radius and cannot pick me up. Yes this actually happened..not making it up. I ask isn't there an office on Ogden, in Naperville, (now mind you, I am doing all of my problem solving here), what is the number (no offer to transfer me) and I call. Finally, after explaining the events, this office picks me up and provides me with a car. They offer to waive the gas for the week. Fine, I am happy to be moving on. This was all wrapped on top of the fact when I got to the Enterprise office, I call the service shop to make sure my car had arrived, he explains to me that the car flew off the truck as it was not properly engaged with the break. Yea,, it was that kind of day. The driver called me and sent me pictures, my insurance company, who recommend the towing agency, was notified and began a claim, As I am pulling out of the Enterprise lot, a huge bag of Dunkin Dounuts trash rolls from under the drivers seat. I call to speak with Chris, he waives the entire week. Yea, it was that kind of day. So, a week later my car is ready, no real damage from the tow truck incident and the original issue was the alternator. All good. I call the Enterprise on Ogden to ask if I bring the car in will they drive me to pick my car up which is in Batavia. The woman indicates, no that's out of our driving radius so you will need to have a ride of your own. I ask her to ask one of the managers or Chris if I can then leave the car at the service shop and their St Charles office pick up the car from there. She indicates that this is not the policy and she is just explaining it to me. I thank her and ask to speak to the manager or Chris. I am on hold for at least 15 minutes and then there is no more music or recorded messages. I call back and ask to speak to Chris, he comes to the phone immediately. He has talked to the manager at the St Charles location and I am all good to go, no charges will be deducted from my credit card. St Charles will pick up the car. For a Family Owned company, they need to get their customer service consistent across branches. While I don't know if this incident will go further in the company than the ears I spoke them into, they need an training intervention across the company. Depending on where you go, or if you are caught in that corporate phone purgatory, your experience on any given day has a better than average chance of being a Hot Mess. I drove off in the first car they gave me and a mile down the road realized the low tire pressure light was on and two tires were very low. They clearly do not inspect each car and make it roadworthy before giving you the keys. Incidentally... This same vehicle was in terrible shape. Big dents in both driver and passenger doors - it was an embarrassment and should have been removed from service. Since I was taking my family on the road I insisted on a car without tire leaks. After some back and forth they finally agreed. Shouldn't have been a question even. Turns out the car I finally took had an expired license sticker! Awesome work. Fortunately I never was pulled over. But come on - they didn't even remotely prepare these vehicles. Tried to mention my experience to the management team and they never got back to me. Got an email from them saying "No need to call and confirm, your reservation is ready!". It was not. They didn't have a single car big enough to take the 7 of us. They offered no help in finding an alternative. I had to call the other nearby car rentals to figure it out on my own. Felt like an episode of Seinfeld...they just can't HOLD the reservation. I've rented several times from this location and been somewhat satisfied. It's rare that you arrive and your car is cleaned, ready and waiting. The last few times the car appears still dripping from the car wash, the interio seems vacuumed but once on the road one can see that the windows and windshield are dirty. I travel extensively and have the opportunity to experience other car rental companies and I can say that I have never experienced this with any one of them. Rudest people I have ever met. Especially the woman, who may be the manager, but she was a awful human being. This would have been my first time renting a car...would have... My car unexpectedly broke down and I was supposed to be leaving for vacation the next day. I went to this location with the hopes of some guidance of the process of renting a car. OH MY GOD this woman gave me a look of disgust and acted like I was the biggest inconvenience in the world. She rattled off the rules and stuff of car renting so fast, never once making eye contact with me, I didn't catch 3/4ths of what she said. I am 27, have a major credit card, insurance, license, but no utility bill, because that's something that everyone carries around. When I stuttered and sputtered a little bit because I was still confused she snapped at me very nasty "if you don't have those things I can't help you!" I grabbed my license off the counter and walked out. Horrible horrible customer service. Never have I been treated so rudely. read more

I love this Enterprise location. I have always exclusively rented cars from one of their competitors but after my first experience with Enterprise at this location 6 years ago I have only rented here. The cars are always very very clean and almost new. The staff is amazing, especially the manager Zach and Adrian. They take their time to go over the contract and how to operate the cars. They remember repeat customers like myself and are super friendly. I've also gotten rides when I needed to pick up a car and the driver is very friendly and patient. I was forced to rent a car from here due to recall on my car. They gave me a sedan when I have a family of 6. I ended up having this car for 3 months! They said there was nothing they can do. Sadly, my IPASS did not work a few times, so they are charging me the toll amount people pay when they do not have an IPASS. They did not wave any fees. Their "consolation" was an upgrade to a bigger sedan the next time I rent a car. I Have a family of 6 and will never rent from any Enterrpise again. Stay away. read more

I do my car renting from Hertz normally but had to use Enterprise cause that's who the dealership uses. They are not very friendly or helpful. They also can care less about what they can do to get you in a car that you request or wanted. They just want to get you in and out. Dealing with customers is out of their realm. read more
