Ok so, I've worked at a doctor's office before, so I know how insurances work. I handled referrals so I always ** had patients complain about specialists and how they treat people with HMO vs PPO insurances. Unfortunately, I experienced something similar. No one WANTS to have surgery, but unfortunately I've been dealing with tonsillitis for 10 years and I can't handle it anymore. The PA was extremely attentive and kind. She listened to my concerns and said I checked off the requirements to have a tonsillectomy. However, when Dr. Yun came in... my experience changed. I told him I unfortunately had a freak accident where a pill got stuck on my tonsil and I was choking for a few minutes, hence why I decided to FINALLY see a specialist. He kept discouraging me from having the surgery, stating "pills don't get stuck in tonsils." I'm literally sick every month. And he shrugged his shoulders when I told him I was sick every month in 2025. Instead I was prescribed a sleep apnea exam, which I'm completely fine with, I definitely need it anyway. but like I said, I don't WANT surgery, I NEED it. I've been avoiding it for ten years. He said he can submit the request if I want but that my insurance most likely won't approve it. So yeah, I understand my previous patients now. I think more providers should be empathetic and understanding. Not assume folks want surgery JUST BECAUSE. read more

The audiologist in the office was very personable and caring.The ENT doctor was not personable and gave me a piece of paper with a list of medicines that would help me. He did not at any time tell me that he was going to prescribe medication's. I found out the next day when the pharmacy called that he had prescribed medications, that was after I purchased over-the-counter antihistamines. He seemed to be in a hurry to finish with me. read more

Waiting an hour past my appointment to be seen. The staff is incompetent, why are you in healthcare when you lack basic human decency? I asked when i was going to be seen and i got no answer, just an offer to reschedule, when i kept pushing for an answer they put me in a room, then i waited 30 min in there and when i asked when i was going to be seen again the doctor immediately came in and examined me, though he was nice some of the advice he gave me seemed like BS, not to mention i didn't even see the doctor i actually booked with, one of the other doctors came in to examine me. Dr. Yun is the most careless doctor I have ever seen in my life. I am going to repeat his exact words that I heard from his mouth right after my surgery, "I don't care what you feel and what you want, it's better to go home than stay here". Even though I was having so much pain after my surgery. In short, I made a decision to stay there to control my pain. All night I had up to 10/10 pain but Dr. Yun and Dr. Ahn refused to authorize anything to help reduce my pain. I am having the California medical board investigate this issue right now. Prisoners of war do not even get this level of torture that these two unprofessional doctors put me through. read more

Dr. Yavurian has no idea what need to do as a professional and in order to get money from insurance, he sends patients for hearing tests (for no reason). Nothing was done and nothing serious happened, just normal ear pain. Before any procedure I asked them if my insurance covers the visit, test, etc. and I was told that my insurance covers all visits. After 2 months I start receiving bills and they explain to me that my insurance does not cover them. This place is a mess and useless, it's all about the money and doesn't care about private or insured visitors. I highly recommend not doing business with them!!! read more

Dr. Yavrouian performed a septoplasty and turbinate reduction about 2 years ago. I can easily say the surgery was a success and I can breath 100% better. after two years post surgery -- I know and feel very confident that he has done a great job and is an experienced surgeon. Btw it takes months to heal ...things were good around 2-3 month mark but didn't start breathing "perfect" till about 6-8 month in, maybe even a year. Be patient. read more

Imagine waiting YEARS to have the courage to see a doctor about ongoing issues... to be gaslight & not properly examined. I saw Dr. Hrair Koutnouyan. He has horrible reviews on Health Grades, btw. He didn't listen to me, & he was so dismissive and belittling. As soon as he came in the room he started in with "you're probably stressed" "this could be caused by an emotional traumatic event." WHAT?! he didn't even examine me before he started dismissing me. He wouldn't listen to my symptoms, & told me "I don't want to know your symptoms, I want to know your story." He then went down a rabbit hole about a separate medical event that had NOTHING TO DO WITH MY APPOINTMENT. I kept repeating that I didn't think it was related, and he didn't even pretend to care about my years of symptoms. Why would multiple doctors INSIST I go in for a biopsy if I didn't have a real reason to be there? He didn't care. He didn't care. HE DIDNT CARE. He saw a woman walk in and thought I was stupid/dehydrated/faking it. I was so frustrated during my appointment I broke down in tears. I haven't had a man, let alone a medical professional, gaslight me that hard in years. RUN! It's been a full day and I can't stop thinking about how awful this visit was. His office is only there to upsell you on cosmetic procedures. The front desk was so rude over text. they changed my appt. without asking, and tried to tell me I was lying about my appt. date. They were not even remotely nice about it. "You were never booked for that date"?! Then why do I have multiple confirmation texts and screenshots? Everything, start to finish, was awful. read more

By far the worst office experience. Office staff are incompetent and incapable of basic health insurance and medical office procedure. Front desk masked man has memorized his copy paste booklet and repeats himself like a broken record without acknowledging the specific situation. Office manager is oblivious to the fact that they are booking patients every minute with horrendous hour long wait times. Worse wait time and treatment. Canceled appointment and did not wait another minute to see the doctor. After waiting for 35 minutes I was scolded for my insurance card which they inputted the day of booking my appointment. Incompetent office worker and office manager did not know simple facts that our family insurance is the same member id for us all! They want you to do all the work and run insurance while they sit and memorize their lines. read more

Dr Yun is a joke. I made an appt here because the other ENT doctor who I wanted to see in Pasadena didn't have an earlier appt open. I wanted to see an ENT doctor because my ears were constantly getting itchy, clogged and felt like there was liquid inside. Right when Dr Yun walked in, you could tell he was already rushing to get me out the door. I literally only saw him for 1-2 minutes. I explained my concerns how my ears were constantly itchy and always gets clogged. He said " well, stop cleaning it so much." I said "Umm okay. That's it? That's what's causing my ears to itch all the time? But what's causing it to itch all the time? Could it be that something that I'm eating or do I have an infection?" his answer? " Just stop cleaning it" then leaves the room. He was honestly a waste of my time. Will never go back here again. read more

I got to say, this place has horrible Doctors. They act as if they are doing you a favor or if they are doing something for free for you. I have seen all of the Doctors there and they are always rushed, rude and they have no sympathy for the patient whatsoever. This was the most unprofessional doctors office I have ever been to! First of all the parking lot is a disaster!! Then I waited in the waiting room for over an hour, the front desk staff did not understand a simple task my medical insurance agent told them to do. Once I was finally seen by the doctor he did not seem interested at all in my pain and problems with my nose. He was in and out in under a minute with literally no diagnosis. Dr. Hrair Koutnouyan is the worst doctor ever. Never experienced anything like this. Waited in the waiting room forever and took time off work to spend a maximum of a minute with this doctor. Right when he came in he was ready to zoom out. Quickly looked in my ear and said they look ok and you can leave. I told him they were clogged. This thief doctor rushes me so much I felt so uncomfortable. This person should not even be a doctor. Lack of compassion and concern for a patient is pathetic. He is stealing money from the insurance companies since a minimum new patient consultation should be at least 30 minutes not one minute and him getting paid so much. Had a ear pain went in with my insurance paid my co pay. They checked me out said it's ok. Then said you are covered by your insurance do you want to do a hearing test to be sure? Then I get a bill from them and my insurance company saying you are not covered and have to pay for it. Just don't lie if you don't know check what's covered and what's not covered!!! They confirmed overcharged at there once; however, they mailed me $340 invoice without any notice. I saw Dr. Yavourian today. The office flow was very efficient. I was in and out of there is less than 45 minutes. I was being checked for a cyst, after an examination and endoscopy I was cleared and told there is no cyst in sight. I still have a nasty taste in my mouth from the numbing, but i would rather have that than pain. The doctor wrote down a few OTC medications I can use for my allergy symptoms. SHADY business practice! I saw the audiologist because I needed a hearing aid. I had insurance and paid the co-pay to be seen. No problem there. So the doctor tells me that I need a hearing aid and proceeded to tell me that because I only need one, he's going to pick out "the best one my insurance will pay for" . Am I an asshat because I assumed that it meant that I wouldn't be out of pocket for it? He orders a $3000 hearing aid and I go and get it fitted. No problems there either. Happily ever after I can hear again all is well? Wrong. Incorrect. I get a $800 bill in the mail 6 months later. Gah? WTF? Turns out that the "best hearing aid my insurance will pay for" has a $400 copay.. and apparently I'm late so they've tacked on a huge late fee. No one told me that I would be responsible for paying anything; the possibility of me paying anything for the hearing aid wasn't discussed at all. I was disputing the charge (and late fee), when they turned me over to collections! This is ridiculous! If you're running a medical office, you should be more transparent in your billing! I'm young and I've never needed any sort of medical devices or anything, so I had no idea what I was in store for. I would have picked a cheaper one if I knew that I was going to have to pay a huge copay! Shame on you for assuming that I would just pay. read more

Dr Yavrouian is awesome! I was suffering with sinus issues for a very very long time and he got to the bottom of it. I had to have surgery and it was very successful. He's very kind & knows what he's talking about. I trust him. I highly recommend his office because his staff is also very kind and very efficient. Having that surgery was life-changing. I would highly recommend him and his office. I will be changing insurance companies soon and I told them one of my stipulations is whatever insurance I choose this doctor needs to be in my network. I can't remember the last time I was so happy and felt so comfortable with the treatment I had received. I am forever grateful to have found this doctor. read more

I was initially referred here to see an ENT for a severely deviated septum. Before my visit I did some research on Dr. Yavrouian and the office, as I also had some cosmetic concerns. Fast forward four months.. I am 1 week post op and the proud and happy owner of a beautiful and functioning nose! Dr. Y is meticulous, caring, and very pleasant to work with. Nina, Joji, and the rest of the staff I have worked with have been super sweet and attentive as well.
