Great food, great service, great bar! The best bar in Mt. Clemens!! Jello shots when the train goes by!

I love the Engine House!! I had never been before when I stumbled upon the place while browsing the restaurant.com coupons. I figured what the heck, bought a coupon, and headed up to the Clem and have been going back regularly ever since! Parking can be a little tough, especially with the current construction, but don't let that stop you from eating here. Also, the few time's I have been here on a Wednesday they had trivia which I think is kinda fun, and who can pass up the chance to win some free drinks! :) I'm not sure if that is a weekly thing or just a coincidence of when I was there though. Service has always been pretty good and I definitely think that is a key factor in why we keep coming back. The appetizer sampler is huge and phenomenal! I honestly can't say enough good things about the potato skins and the ribs fall off the bone. The bbq pizza is killer too, especially the crust. And if you have a sweet tooth, the lava cake is a must! MMM! Even writing this review makes me wanna head up there right now for a beer and some of the hands down best bar food around! read more

Fun neighborhood type bar. Shared Reuben sandwich and a burger along with fries and onion rings. All the food was quite good $2 draft beer during tiger games. Great service and fair prices! Received free Jell-O shot also, guess a train went by. read more

I have been here twice now, when I first walked in I was not expecting much, seemed like just a corner bar. I then wowed by the food on both occasions. Their pizza is fantastic and at a good price. The jello shots for the train pass are always fun and even their soup is great. The service is above average and quick. read more

If I'm going to a casual dining restaurant, there is an level of atmosphere I enjoy. If I'm going to a seedy pub, there is also an atmosphere I can appreciate. Engine House feels like they're trying to have their cake and eat it too amongst both sides. A beautiful restaurant no doubt, and a menu that held my interest. Unfortunately, the food was a tad bland and the service, while really friendly, just lacked some professional courtesy. Free Jell-O shots when the train goes by?? A cool idea, in theory, but ended up a little sad when executed. I think the waitresses know the combination to the Jell-O shot vault. Great pizza on half off pizza Tuesday! However ordered 2 shots of cuervo tequila and even though the bartender says it was cuervo, it was some cheaper house tequila poured in that bottle. The Engine House has AMAZING food! I love their salads. The food is always fresh and delicious. Their Michigan salad and Cobb salad are my favorites. They have these yummy garlic bread rolls and they're to die for. They also have great homemade ranch, which is always a plus!! I always get my food to go, and the quality is never compromised. Started going here when our former place of choice before bowling became our worst nightmare week after week. From week one, the service has been outstanding. The food is awesome but beware, when ordering a burger and you want it medium rare ask for rare. The chicken finger pita is awesome. We've been going here week after week now and really enjoy the food and service. Jello shots when the train goes by is a plus as well. The Engine House service and food has steadily gone down hill in the several years I have visited it. It started out friendly and attentive service with good pizza and burgers. My last visit the burger was dry, the bun stale, the wait service from opening drinks to the check took forever. Just get the pizza if you go, prepare to play the game of " Try to get your servers attention" and remember fondly the Fire House at 16 and Harper while you wait. read more

We visited this place for the first time about a week ago. What stood out during that first visit was the exceptional service. From the time we entered the building we were promptly greeted by, who turned out to be, our waitress, (Murph). She was so engaging, funny, friendly and down to earth. We had a square pizza and an appetizer, and we were satisfied with the quality of the food. However, it was solely because of our service that we chose to go back. We decided to give this place another try, and went back to see "Murph" only to learn that she no longer works there. We decided to stay anyway and had the worst experience ever. Our drinks took over 15 minutes to come from the bar, the server (who never introduced herself) either forgot to put our food order in, or the kitchen took over an hour to make two Engine House Burgers. My husband's burger was under cooked, and he was supposed to get cole slaw that never came out. When we finally got our bill we were disgusted to see that the second round of drinks that we ordered, but never received, were on the bill. We brought this to our servers attention, once we tracked her down AGAIN, and her response was unacceptable. Instead of being apologetic it was if we were putting her out by showing her the mistake. We didn't wait for the corrected bill, we paid the INCORRECT bill and we left. Not impressed. Go with caution. read more

Very slow service and mediocre food. The bread basket was actually very good. I ordered the Cajun Chicken Fettuccini with marinera sauce. The chicken had zero flavor and was dry. Was cut into tiny pieces and thrown over a mound of flavorless, over cooked spaghetti noodles (not fettuccini) with the marinera sauce which was just as bland. I think it was just pizza sauce. I was also excited to find a very long hair in the food. Never coming here again. read more

This place was terrible. I had very high expectations reading the reviews about the pizza, however i was very disappointed. We ordered the calamari appetizer and it was served on a small plate soaking in some sauce and there were only 8 small pieces for 10$. while it tasted ok the presentation was horrible. my wifes bloody mary was no good, my bottled beer was good (they cant screw that up). The service was terrible, the server seemed to only care about the regulars and bigger tables. She was very cold and didnt seem to care whether we were satisfied or not. I would like to try the pizza maybe a carry out order once just to try it but i will never go back here for food and drinks. They did nothing to insure we were satisfied customers. I strongly suggest the owner to try the calamari and see if he thinks it is worth 10$. The atmosphere is nice i must say, that is the only thing good about this place. read more

Great for Teams!!!! Our hockey team played at Mt. Clemens Ice Arena and went here after the game. I called ahead and the table was set up for us even though we were early. The food was very good and they had no problem dividing the check by jersey numbers. We will be back!!!! read more

Went there for dinner and a cocktail after a long day at work. Went there years ago and loved it. Tonight I was ignored by the female bartender while everyone else around me was served when they got there after me. I would have loved to try their food but never even got water. I walked out. Reaching back a couple of weeks, because both guys happen to be lazy.... the Engine House No. 9 in Mt. Clemens. This night I was out with the people that live upstairs, luckily we got to get a bar burger instead of Asian Cuisine. The Engine house is a neat place with a mixed crowd all out for diner. Tons of t.v.'s playing everything, trivia games, and some billiards, and of course decked out like a firehouse. Whats not to like here. There was a "5 Alarm" burger on special, I chose to avoid it. I like spicy but this sounded like the insides of the Tower of London, torturous. I settled on the "Engine House Burger." It was 1/2 lb of "juicy premium hamburger" with cheese (.75) and add bacon ($1) making it $6.95. The lettuce, tomato, and onion were included. Burger- 2 just lacked a flavor kick Price- 3.5 Service- 4.5 Overall- 3.25 Place would probably be a lot of fun after dinner. It has the making of a good time. The service was spot on. Well, the Monday drink prices were good. The waitress was nice. But, they were understaffed so my fries were lukewarm when they finally made it to the table. The fries and my tuna melt were also soggy and our Caesar Salad was large pieces of green romaine drowning in dressing. So, go for the drink specials and skip the food. read more

Excellent! We had a hockey tournament this past weekend. The place was packed and they were able to accommodate a party of 4 adults and 4 Children within 10 minutes. We ordered pizzas and they hit the spot. Also they have a great selection of beer. read more
