Walleye special, choice of sides
Susan C.

Went in on a Sunday early evening for dinner, with our son who lives in the area. Have to say, it was quite solid. Comfortable interior; didn't seem to have many beers on tap, mostly bottled. A great surprise was the steaming hot breadsticks---soft, garlic, parm, butter---whoa!!!! Don't skip them --eat those carbs, yum. So good. The three of us really enjoyed our dishes, I had a special, the walleye with mac'n cheese & green beans. It was very delicious, & some went home. Husband had the Ahi Tuna with fries & the green beans. Our son had a burger with onion rings, which he said was good. Our food was all so hot when served, it was great! So delicious & cozy. Staff could be friendlier. Our waitress was bare minimum friendly? but she was there when we needed her. Maybe she was tired & it was the end of her shift, I don't know, but it's nice to be made to feel welcome. Lots of menu options, nice side choices. We'll go back when in the area.

Gluten free Ruben pizza

As the name would suggest, the place is themed around an old engine house. Lots of brick and firehouse items, and many large screen tvs. The wait staff were on top of their game and very attentive. My husband ordered the lunch special of half a sandwich and cup of soup, and I had the Ruben pizza on gluten free crust. We both enjoyed our food. Prices are responsible. We will likely be back.

This restaurant was within walking distance of the museum and we wanted lunch so off we went. We came in through what we thought was the front door but the hostess station was actually at the other end of the restaurant. We seated ourselves and eventually a server came to our table. The menu has a nice selection of items, and the prices are pretty on point. You can get sandwiches, pizza, salads, and a few other items here as well. We each ordered our own pizza but my friends sister wanted a sandwich so that's what she got. We all enjoyed the environment as it wasn't terribly loud and had plenty of seating. The bar area was busy and they had TV's on with some random sports games on. Service was a bit slow but I think it was because they seemed busy for a Saturday afternoon. Fair enough. Server was nice and we loved her through out our meal. Would gladly return in the future.

Truly enjoyed this place. The service was outstanding. The environment was welcoming and inviting, and overall the food was plentiful and delicious. My colleagues and I ended up here seeking wholesome food with an atmosphere that allowed us to get loud and enjoy each others company over a meal. Our server was very helpful, shoutout to Sherry, and steered each one of us in the best direction for our appetite as they varied significantly. The square pizza was everything I look and desire for in pizza, crunchy (not hard) dough, stretchy cheese bursting with flavors of topping such as pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom. A must in the area and one I look forward to coming back to in the future.

Busy Tuesday night with 1/2 off pizza!

Pizza is outstanding!! We've always had great service with friendly staff. Restrooms are very clean. There's an outdoor patio that's very nice. We're never disappointed.

My sister told me about this lovely restaurant close to our home. My husband and I decided to check it out. When we walked in, it was super busy. If you come in the front door, you need to walk to the back for the hostess to seat you. We got seated by the front door and it was a tiny bit chilly when it opened, but it wasn't too bad. The hostess got us drinks as well. Our waitress was super fast. She kinda rab past the table a lot. I think she had quite a few tables. It wasn't really an issue though because we always had a new drink right away. We both ordered chicken tenders entres, one with mac and one with fries. My husband added clam chowder for an extra few bucks. I also ordered the garlic bread for $2 and trust me it's worth the extra bread. The mac was delicious and it's a big serving. It's worth $4 for a small side of mac if you want to try it. The tenders were good but very crunchy for me. Overall, the food was pretty good and a great price.

First time here in a long time. I wish I had found a reason to come back sooner, but my last…read moreexperience wasn't great. This time, though, was darn near perfect. What a great way to celebrate my 64th birthday. Gumbo's reminded me why I love southern cuisine so much. We don't have much of that 'round these parts, but it's always nice to get a reminder. I've always loved the hush puppies here. An appetizer order of 8 puppies costs $5. It's happy hour, so all appetizers are 30% off. I ordered 2, and we finished them off before we left. They are formed out of flour, cornmeal, and buttermilk, then deep-fried. These are not the least bit greasy, and dang I want to have some more now. If a restaurant serves a shrimp poboy and I don't like it, we cannot be friends. Fortunately, this is an amazing shrimp poboy. The shrimp are meaty, and fried to crispy perfection. As with the hush puppies, there is not the slightest feeling of greasiness. I never appreciated before how great this chewy New Orleans style French bread is. It's not often that I think about how good the bread is when I'm eating a sandwich. My daughter loved the chicken fingers, which look nothing like fingers. They are the shape and size of a chicken wing, which is pretty cool. As with all dishes, it includes a generous helping of fries that taste like they were freshly cut from a potato, and not defrosted from a bag in a freezer. I will have to come back for the dessert. If I'm going to ruin a diet, I'll do it with pecan pie and pralines. Totally worth it. Our server was also the bartender. I think she also had to go into the kitchen to help prepare sides and plates. Despite that, the service was excellent. And, through it all, she kept her cool, despite the fact that it seemed like she hardly stopped moving. She kept everything running smoothly. And, I would be remiss if I didn't mention how my heart skipped a beat when I walked into the main dining area. I've only been to New Orleans once, 10 years ago, but seeing that transported me back. The food reminded me that I didn't have to book a plane there any time soon. I can take a trip to The Big Easy right here.

They both tasted like they were made in house and not from frozen. I would order these again any day. I also tried the shrimp po boy. The flavors were good, but the sandwich only had 6 shrimp. Po boys are supposed to be loaded up! I'd definitely go back and order the Mac and cheese bites and catfish appetizer, because they was amazing.

Very friendly and fast customer service. And the broth was surprisingly rich compared to other ramen shops I've been to in USA. I also enjoyed texture of the noodles. It's a bit different kind of ramen compared to ones in Japan but it has its own flavor that I enjoyed . Spring rolls are huge with lots of glass noodles , meat and vegetables and fried to perfection. I think the pork topping is something like pork cooked in clock pot , sliced and pan fried to make it crispy outside. It's unique and I didn't dislike it. If I'm around the area again I'd definitely go back.

The birria ramen was interesting, the meat was chunked, not shredded and the broth had flavors of clove or cinnamon- was not expecting that and I did not care for it. As for the Cheeseburger buns with the mayo type sauce we all thought they were horrible. The katsu was good still - yay. I used to crave this place and tell everyone about it when it was New Age Noodles and now I have zero desire to go back since the menu change/ rebranding. Sad. RIP.

It took 20ish minutes to get drinks and refills. I had asked for a water several times and we had to end up sharing. We got chicken tenders, poutine and pierogi for appetizers. The poutine and chicken tenders were both amazing! The chicken was fresh and very good quality, it seemed to be hand breaded. The poutine had great flavor also! The pierogi was dry and not great, so I would skip those next time. For dinner I ordered the mac and cheese and French onion soup. The French onion soup was so salty it was inedible. The Mac and cheese was also disappointing. I thought it would be baked or have a sauce and it didn't. It reminded me more of a kids meal (but with adult prices) and was a small portion. Husband got the fish and chips and he enjoyed them, but said he wished they gave malt vinegar with them. Overall the service was slow and some dishes were great and some were not so great.
