Note that Endangered Species is no longer run by Jon and I think the chocolate production has moved to Indiana.

Had a great time at South Bend Chocolate Company…read more This place is such a fun mix of a café and chocolate shop. Everything feels warm and inviting, and of course the chocolate and desserts are the stars - rich, indulgent, and exactly what you'd hope for. What I really love, though, is the atmosphere. It's the kind of place you can actually hang out in for a while, not just grab something and leave. A really nice touch is that they have board games available, which makes it even more enjoyable if you're there with friends. It adds a relaxed, social vibe that you don't see everywhere. Overall, great treats, great atmosphere, and a place that's easy to spend time in. Would definitely come back.

South Bend Chocolate was honestly a great surprise. From the second you walk in, it smells amazing,…read morechocolate everywhere. They've got a ton of stuff from bars, sweets, pastries, and even popcorn. Easy to get distracted. Staff was really nice and helped me find what I was looking for. I ordered the hot chocolate... just one sip and wow, I already knew. This jumped straight to the number one spot for me. Best hot chocolate I've had in the States, no question. The flavor was deep and full. You get those darker, slightly nutty notes right away, then it settles into this smooth, creamy finish that just stays with you. Every sip hits the same, and it just keeps pulling you back in. The whipped cream on top melts right into it and adds a little extra sweetness without taking away from the chocolate. The whole drink felt like an experience. I even asked how they make it and found out they use actual chocolate bars... makes sense. 100% worth it. And definitely be coming back for more.

Quite literally one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. It was very flavorful, fresh,…read moreand light. It can get a bit messy with the flakiness of the croissant, but no complaints there! Just have napkins ready. I am always worried about egg overpowering all of the other ingredients but it did not. It was all so well balanced and the egg was extremely fluffy. I really wanted to try the focaccia but they were sold out by the time I got there. Must be really good then! The space inside is pretty large, and there's ample of seating. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area.

The baked goods are awesome at this trendy bakery and coffeehouse downtown. The cases are filled…read moreexquisite pastries and breads. I couldn't decide what I wanted! I wanted one of everything. I finally decided on the Breakfast Sandwich which was made on one of their house-made flaky, buttery croissants. The hot sandwich had City ham, bacon, egg and Gruyère cheese. It was decadent and delicious. My husband had a Potato and Fontinella cheese danish, which he devoured and enjoyed. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The food was delivered quickly. I thought prices were reasonable. The dining area has a modern industrial vibe. There are tables or comfy seating if you want to kick back. There were several people sipping coffee and working in the small work space. Free WiFi is available. The outdoor patio looks inviting during warmer weather. We were able to find free street parking directly in front of the building. I highly recommend!!!! Easy 5 stars.

wow wow WOW! this was such a cute blast into the past…read more First, you hear that iconic storefront bell ring when you walk in. Then, you see rows, islands, and walls of candies and sodas. You can find classics like Necco, or new things like spicy gummy bears and ranch-flavored pop.. I was most impressed with the *treasure chest* full of cotton candy. From chamoy pineapple to Dr. Pepper (I do not recommend) -- there were so many options!! Out of everything I tried, the gummy sushi platters were my all-time favorite! But I highly recommend picking up something new to go along with it... just make sure it isn't the Chocolate Bacon soda or Salted Black Licorice. I'd only wish those on my enemy :)

Whenever my lil buddy comes to spend time with me, we have to explore things together. It's a must…read more Rocket fizz and I have a wonderful relationship as it always carries some of my old school favorite candies and when my grandbaby mentioned he wanted to try rock candy, I knew exactly where to take him too. Rocket fizz has 2 locations that I am familiar with. One in Plainfiekd and one in Downtown Indy. I love both locations but downtown on the circle was our choice. When the monument isn't under construction I love walking the steps. We parked a block away and walked back. And once inside we were in candy heaven. We spent alot of time perusing. Because their were so many choices it was hard for my grandson to decide until the store clerk mentioned she just made some grab bags. Excited he was. They were pricey but it was for the fun of it all for him. It has been a while since we've gone but he still talks about our visit. And for me, the memories are worth every dollar spent.
