I was looking to buy a new Ford Fusion and came across Encinitas Ford on an online search for the specific model I wanted. After submitting my name and contact information, the people at Encinitas Ford contacted me almost immediately to let me know they would find my specific car if it's not already on their lot. I want to thank Frank and Michelle for helping me find such a great deal on a brand-new Ford vehicle. Thanks guys you're great. read more

I wanted to say a big thank you to Andy at Encinitas Ford! We went in to look at some cars the other day and left with 2! Andy was the best salesman ever! Putting up with our 5 test drives and numerous questions. He is terrific, patient and not pushy. He really took good care of us. Especially my mom who has terminal cancer. He was so kind and considerate. Lyndsey in finance was so kind and had everything organized for us. Easiest paperwork ever. All in all a terrific experience! read more

We went to Encinitas Ford to purchase a specific vehicle, and what we wanted was a little complicated. The general manager, Scott Cook, took it upon himself to make sure that the entire transaction went smoothly, which is not something I could foresee happening at any other dealership. The very fact that Mr. Cook even spoke to me was great, and handling the deal personally, is customer service beyond all expectations. Scott was extremely professional, patient, and maintained a positive attitude throughout. It was like talking with a friend, always feeling assured that it would work out. In addition to Scott, we want to thank Daniel Kekuva, Mary Ann, and the team for superior customer service in helping us buy our new car! read more

Since my Lexus was now around 11 years old, I decided to call my friend Mark Wheeler, the owner of Encinitas Ford to see if he had any ideas about a possible trade in? From the moment I got there, I got an incredibly warm reception from virtually EVERYBODY in the organization - from the Owner -Assistant to the Pres - Mary Anne,- the Sales People and Staff - the Financial people - AND virtually every employee that I bumped into. When it came time to talk terms, they gave me a GREAT deal on a car - and a GREAT trade in for my Lexus! Although many people in the car industry have gotten poor reputations, the opposite is true of ENCINITAS FORD! They couldn't have been nicer and 'especially' more Fair! They bent over backwards to give me 'Exemplary Customer Service' - and in a day and age where 'Exemplary Customer Service' is waning, I can assure you that ENCINITAS FORD is outstanding! I know a quality organization when I see one and can state unequivocally - THIS IS A FIRST CLASS ORGANIZATION, and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a quality car from a quality organization! I'll definitely keep coming back to them. read more

Fun to give a car dealer 5 stars when I didn't even buy the truck from them. They showed me great trucks, great service and gave my 10 year old some a glider airplane from behind the self because they saw him eying it. When they followed up with me I explained why I bought a different truck from a different dealer and they could not have been cooler. They were stoked for me! ...not bummed. Local families keep coming back and I get it. read more

Once again the staff at Encinitas Ford took care of me from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. I was able to walk out same day, with a new F-150, at a great price. We just completed the purchase of a new Ford Expedition. From our first meeting with David to driving out of the lot with our new vehicle, the experience was friendly, relaxed and professional. These are not normally terms used to describe an encounter with a car sales consultant. We were trying to decide between the Expedition and a vehicle from another dealer/ manufacturer. Once we met David, we never returned to the other company. David answered all our questions and was extremely knowledgable about the features and benefits of the car. We received a generous trade in on our old car and a great deal with excellent financing terms on the new vehicle. We would not hesitate to recommend David and Encinitas Ford to any family or friend who is looking for excellent customer service with their vehicle purchase. read more

What an awesome dealership to work with!! Buying a car is stressful on a good day and the team at Encinitas Ford was efficient, helpful and all around just enjoyable to work with. They priced out my trade and did their due diligence on finding me the lowest interest rate possible all in the course of a few hours. My amazing salesman, Andy, went to bat for me on all points that I brought up to get me to my ideal price point and into the car that I wanted and even helped me clean out my car! Doug in Finance was helpful and patient as well with all the questions that I had. I left the lot smiling and feel like I have a dealership to partner with for a long time. Thanks for making car shopping as pain-free as possible and not living up to the stigma of car dealerships! read more

Rip off. Always trying to make the extra dollar, never try to help the customer. Example, the bad ignition cylinder that is on almost every ford focus SHOULD have been a factory recall. Anyways, they want $200 for the part and $210 to "RE-KEY". EVERYONE else on the internet charges $75 for the part and $20 to "RE-CODE" the lock (shift the tumblers) to fit your current key... based on your Vin #. Then they send it to you and it's a 5 minute install. read more

This was the worst car buying experience of my life! They told me they would match another Ford Dealers Costco pricing.....well they lured me to drive up for nothing. I just bought a certified preowned Ford F150 Lariat. Dooley was my sales guy. Professional and found me exactly what I was looking for. Never tried downgrading me into a different truck like I had experienced with other dealerships. He knew what I wanted and made sure he got me into that truck. Thank you Encinitas Ford. Made my 1st time buying a new truck a great experience. read more

Recently purchase a pre-owned Ford F150 from these folks. I called and talked to an Allen asking about a specific truck and wanted more pics. He said he would take them and send them Surprise #1: He did it. Then I called and said that my pet peeve on buying vehicles and I have bough a lot over the years is every time it takes FOREVER to get out of the dealership. Even when paying cash. He said it would take a total of 1 hour 12 minutes. Surprise #2 I showed up and Allen handed me over to a nice young man named Nate. Nate showed the truck got started on the paperwork and Allen LIED! It didn't take an hour 12 minutes. It took and hour and TEN minutes. Surprise #3. The beautiful lady named Marianne took care of the paper work and was amazing in explaining everything. I left the dealership and called her when I got home and noticed there were no floor mats. She said she would see what she could do. She called me back and said that the truck didn't come with them but the owner would sell them to me at the employee cost. I said thanks. Surprise #4. Marianne called me back and said that she was buying the mats and sending them to me. Surprise #5. Two days later the mats showed up. Simple but major surprise that people today still follow through with what they say, especially when it comes to customer service. Very hard to find. A HUGE shout out to Allen, Nate and Marianne for for making an expected unpleasant experience a true pleasure. Great truck, great price, great service. Thanks guys and gals. John read more

I drove from San Diego to Encinitas Ford today a 25 min drive and the truck that the "Loan Specialist" called and talked to me about was "sold" when i drove up there 25 min after i got off the phone with her. These people are so full of shit. No apology, no offer for gas money for "Their Mistake" (according to her). This was a total waste of my time & gas up there and back. NEVER AGAIN!! EXCELLENT experience! Buying a new car with Encinitas Ford was nothing less than spectacular! I had been looking for a vehicle for a couple months and early in my experience had an experience that was so awful I stopped looking all together. Thank goodness for Encinitas Ford! Their website made it easy to browse their selection and made prices and specials very clear, I then got a welcoming and friendly phone call from one of their senior staff inviting me in and promising a better experience. When I got there I was kindly greeted by Marianne and then handed over to a sales person, Frank, who was very helpful without being pushy! Frank had just met me and I got the feeling he truly wanted to get me a good deal with a good car. I found the one I wanted and working with Doug in finance was so seamless as well! The whole team worked so well together my time at the dealership was kept to a minimum though my previous experiences had been much longer at other dealerships. When I was finishing up in finance the rest of the team was working on my car to make sure it was shined and beautiful and with a fresh tank of gas. Frank went over some last few details of technology in my new car and made sure I was good to go! I have nothing but excellent things to say about this dealership and would recommend them to anyone!!!! read more

By the mixture of reviews you can tell they pick and choose who to treat with respect and courtesy. I applied for financing through a 3rd party referral service and received numerous calls and emails over a day or two about coming in and meeting with the 'Finance Manager'. I wasted an hour here and an hour of round trip driving dealing with unprofessional people such as Doolehy Wifak asking intrusive and degrading questions (i.e. "if you put this down payment, are you going to be struggling afterwards?" "do you have kids, of course not, you're a beautiful young woman!) single women - regardless of finance options - think twice before coming here alone. read more

Yesterday I went shopping for a vehicle and started at Encinitas Ford. My dad had worked for Ford for 48 years and recently just passed away so this was the first time I'd ever gone in to buy a vehicle without his assistance. It is also the first time I've ever bought a used vehicle so I was doubly leery about what to expect. Drew at Encinitas Ford met us on the lot and was very friendly from the beginning. I had found the car I was interested in, a 2014 Ford Escape and we right away took it out for a test drive. He was very knowledgeable of the area roads and took me out to some "country" roads to test the vehicle since I live in east county area with a lot of winding roads. The car drove beautiful. Upon returning to dealership, I told Drew that I had a very specific amount I could spend (settlement on my previous vehicle from an accident) and was not able to go over that amount at all. He got the car down to what I could pay and included the Ford Certified Warranty and a 7yr/100,000 Power-train Warranty. We shook on it, started the paperwork and it was said and done within a couple hours. While doing the paperwork, the car was detailed beautifully, filled with gas, and I was shown how all the gadgets in the car work. I noticed there was only 1 key toggle and that the Owner's Manual was missing and Drew immediately ordered me another of both. I would highly recommend starting your car search with Encinitas Ford. read more

Good luck trying to get your car serviced here. Two days ago, I made an appointment to get my car serviced (NAV card stopped working). Upon bringing it in (1st thing in the morning), I was told they are very busy and may not get to it today. I could take the shuttle to work, but may have to leave the car for a few days. Also, because they are so busy, they may "forget" to call me. So, the onus is on me to check in the afternoon, to find out IF they have gotten to my car. Who would feel comfortable dropping their car off under such nebulous circumstances? Why give me an appointment? They ask you to call them, if you cannot make the appointment, but don't do the same for you if they need to change it. Stay away from this service department. They don't honor their appointments. read more

The worst place ever. Duke is a swindler and will take as much money from you as he can for things that are unnecissary and also things under warrenty. Duke told me the work I needed done on my car would cost thousands. I couldnt afford his price and had it towed to Carlsbad Ford and they let me know that all the work that needed to be done was under warrenty and I paid nothing. This place is full of crooks- I would recommend never ever going there ever for any reason. I had a great experience buying a new F150 from this dealership. I shopped 4 other dealerships and not only got the best deal here, but the staff was really friendly, professional and low pressure. Brought my new car in for a recall and asked about an issue with the passenger door.. Turns out it was a small dent someone made which left a space where the door closes.. Repair estimate $1100. This seemed outrageous for such a tiny problem - they were charging for paint, hours of service and more. When I opened that door at home it suddenly had a squeek and a more obvious dent- Whatever they did had made a small issue worse. I took it to another mechanic in Encinitas that had worked on my other car who fixed it up beautifully in 1/2 hour for $30. Now tell me..how long will giving bogus estimates to women at car dealerships last.. I will not return here for my services. Buyer beware read more

I just bought a new 2017 F150 Lariat Super Crew at Encinitas Ford. Overall, the customer service and purchase process was very streamlined and surprisingly painless. **IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE NO STARS, I WOULD!!** We are in the process of looking for a new car and got pricing through USAA. This dealership was not the lowest price, but they called me right away. I was very upfront with the lady before that I had USAA pricing and that I would need that to be matched to even go in to see the cars. I was assured that it would be and that I should come in to the dealership and that either her or the Internet manager would be there to help me. I was also assured that they had the car I was looking for ON THE LOT. So we went ahead and battled TRAFFIC for 45 minutes on a Friday to meet with them. When we arrived this is what happened: 1) Neither of the two people were even there 2) We were informed that they did NOT have a car like the one I priced on the lot 3) We were then told, through a manager via the owner that the dealership could NOT in fact match the price. But wanted to charge $1000 MORE than the quote! I am now sure that the main goal of this dealership is to just to get people in the door so the "owner" can try to sell them on a completely overpriced vehicle. I am lucky that I had USAA to back me, I feel sorry for the others who won't. I will be letting USAA know of my experience, but feel that fellow YELPERS should STAY AWAY from here and buy a car elsewhere. I heard that Drew Ford is really nice. We are going there this weekend as well as Escondido who DID have the lowest price. And can GUARANTEE it. In times when small and family owned business are in the minority it is so sad to see a business run like this one. read more

This is the second time we have attempted to use Encinitas Ford for service issues for our expedition as it is convenient to our home however it is now the second time we have remarked that we will never take it back. After 7 hours in the shop to run a diagnostic, they call to say they need to keep the car overnight as they didn't get to it today (and yes, we had an appointment). After commenting that it really wasn't ok, that this is the second time we have brought the car to them with unsatisfactory results the service guy said 'fine, your car will be outside, come get it'. They really don't seem to care. Service is so much more professional and reliable at North County Ford, we'll be going there from now on! read more

My husband and were looking for a particular type of used vehicle; we live in the Coachella Valley and had been looking locally when I happened to run across on an online ad from Encinitas Ford for the very year / make / model of the car we wanted. I interacted first with Allen, one of the sales crew; he was very pleasant and professional; with very few phone calls we were able to strike a tentative deal for the car. We then drove the two + hours to this dealership to meet Allen and his colleague, Nate. Short story is we bought the car on the spot. Allen and Nate were down-to-earth, professional and efficient. Daniel, the dealer's finance guy, was equally pleasant, professional and knowledgeable; he got our deal financed through a San Diego credit union at a great rate. All is all this was the BEST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE either my husband or I had ever experienced. I rarely write these reviews but in this case I am delighted to encourage others to go Encinitas Ford. read more

Unfortunate experience. I brought 2014 Escape Titanium here for "Works"oil change and car was damaged during tire rotation. Upon brief at home inspection, I noticed that the driver's side fender was not lined up with the door. A trim piece was loose near mirror and two trim clips were missing from fender skirt. I looked closer and could see some deep gouges around entire inside wheel which let to the discovery of bent brake disc dust shield near the bottom. It appears this car may have been set down from lift and moved without the lug nuts installed causing the car to fall on the rim, deform the fender, cause the gouges and damaged brake parts. I returned to the dealership and they had the car for two days and when picked up the fender alignment was remedied but clips still missing. Throughout this their has been no explanation, no apology or offer of benefit to make up for the damage or time inconvenience. It is difficult to be encouraged about the service department at this dealership. The fact that an employee damaged the car and did not report the mistake is very troubling and the remedy is still ongoing. Corporate office called with normal follow up of initial oil change work and has been made aware of ongoing situation. Whether that helps in remedy is yet to be realized. All of this and it was only supposed to be an oil change! read more

I still wouldn't trust their service department after my experience, but a manager and the owner were kind enough to call and they paid for the (fourth!) heater core replacement done at another mechanic. I would have given another star, and indeed would have removed my previous negative review, but they didn't really offer me an explanation about Rigo's lie about leaking freeze plugs. (They don't leak at all, IMO it was just a ruse to extract more money from me, instead of honoring the warranty on the Ford parts.) The heater core was replaced at a different place (which cost less than 1/3 what these guys charged me twice) and now it's fine. The managers and owner made an effort, but after being compelled to make so many trips to Encinitas Ford for the same thing, after patiently explaining to Rigo that it was the heater core again, having him flatly deny that, and shelling out several thousand dollars for a problem that was ultimately fixed by less than $300, I cannot trust this service department. The managers finally took some time to fix my problem; perhaps the sales, parts, and other departments at Encinitas Ford are trustworthy. read more

completely expected and completely unpleasurable dealership service. call ahead and make an appointment for service, then call again to make sure they got your appointment right! I think the service call center person automatically has to input a XX point check service for anytime you bring your car in. DO NOT HAVE YOUR SERVICE REPAIRS DONE HERE!! My car was brought to Encinitas Ford to have a cable replaced. The cost was more than expected and when called we were told that our defrost and heat were running and the service manager did not know why and would look into the problem. Days later they did not know why the issue was happening. After being spoken to very rudely by the service manager I asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor was pleasant but did not resolve any of the issues. We paid for the cable repair and picked up the car that was told to be ready with the heater unplugged until the necessary part came in a week. When we called the manager he returned our call over 24 hours and gasped" oops i forgot" to have the car attended to. Not only was the heater running but the hazard lights didn't work, the volume on the stereo didn't work and No accommodations were made. The service was nearly nonexistent. Encinitas Ford gives Ford a bad name. We are back at Missy Ford and couldn't be happier!! read more

This is my first Yelp Review. I've never felt compelled to write (positive or negative) reviews until now. But I feel that people needed to be warned - AVOID ENCINITAS FORD SERVICE CENTER! I took my car in last week because the engine was surging when I stopped at red lights and was occassionally hard to start. It was also running a little hotter than normal. My car is a 10 year old Explorer so I was dreading what they would tell me. They called to tell me that my car needed major work (new mass air flow sensor, new heater core, new thermostat and some gasket that needed replaced). The total estimate was nearly $2,500 for a car that is only worth $3,000. I called to find out what they thought was absolutely needed and what we could skip. They said they could bypass the heater-core (for $500, but that would leave me with no heater) but everything else was necessary. That would reduce the estimate to approx. $2,000. We called another independant mechanic that had done some previous work on my car. It was still driveable, so we took it to him to evaluate. The next day, he called and indicated that the fuel injectors were extremely clogged and my car was low on coolant - total cost $90! He did indicate that the heater car may have a slight leak, but he used a can of "Stop Leak" and was confident that there wouldn't be any major issues with it (although I will need to check the coolant here and there to make sure it's not low). Mass airflow sensore ($800) was working fine, thermostat ($200) was fine, the gasket was not leaking ($400), and no need for a new heater core ($1,100). This was my second BAD experience with these guys. The first one was earlier this year when my fuel pump went out. They replace it with a "non-Ford" part because the Ford part was on backorder. When I got my car back, the gas gauge wasn't working. According to them, the part they used was defective and they wanted to charge me an additional $500 to replace it, because they don't cover labor on "non-Ford" parts. After I ranted, they agreed to correct the problem without charge. Personally, I don't think the part was defective, I think they just installed it wrong and wanted me to pay for their labor cost to fix the problem. Sorry, Encinitas Ford, but you won't be getting anymore of my business! read more

Bought my new Ford Edge from them 3 years ago. I have had a few issues with the computer which they were not happy about fixing (3 times). The service dept is not the greatest and way overpriced. They do not give you a loaner car just a rental that you have to deal with getting. Overall, the building is old and on the dirty side. I would recommend buying and having your Ford serviced elsewhere. Had 9am appt for service and they did not even look at the car until 10:30. When I asked for update I got nothing. Tried calling service manager but he never returned my call. My advice is to never buy a car or get your car serviced from these people. I hear North county Ford is much better. That is my next stop. read more

The horrific car buying experience I had here got multiplied when NINE WEEKS after buying my car, it died. Just kaput. Turns out, Encinitas Ford never checked the battery. It was SO corroded that the bolts holding it on broke off!!! Their Sales Director, Scott Cook, had the audacity to say to me that "batteries sometimes just go bad...like lightbulbs" without even looking at the car or asking any questions. Totally condescending and obnoxious. Thankfully, the Service Manager, Rigo, took care of the problem for us the following day, but we had to waste FIVE HOURS of time and back/forth on the phone while waiting in a parking lot for someone to come help us with the stalled car. Some of the most horrific customer service I've ever experienced. read more

I've been driving Ford trucks for years. I've been to another ford dealership over the years and found myself at Encinitas Ford in January 2016. I received excellent customer service and noticed an obvious lack of sales talk. David took the time to figure out how we could work a deal and stay within my payment range and Lindsay actually took the time to explain every detail of the contract on my 2015 F150. In addition to that purchase, I went in recently to trade in my truck and get into something with better mileage for my daily commute and drove out with a 2013 Ford Fusion....39 MPG! It has a few miles on it but I honestly thought that it was new when I took it for a drive. Again I received phenomenal customer service from Dan (worked at another Ford dealership previously and didn't have anything negative to say about Encinitas Ford) and Lindsay. It was late, they were patient and professional. I'll be buying all my vehicles from them and wouldn't hesitate to refer my family and friends to them. read more

My 2012 F150 with less than 30K miles broke down over the weekend, just 80 days outside of the 3 year warranty. Turns out, the problem is common and has a Technical Service Advisory out for the problem. When I asked the service department to cover it under warranty since they are aware of the problem he put me in contact with Service Advisor Rigo who told me "no, they would not cover it." I have since spoken with 2 other F150 owners who had the same repair just outside of warranty. I gave them a star because they at least took my call. It seems good customer service would have been for the dealership to check for known problems and TSAs when the truck was in for its regular service. Or at least to stand behind their product to make it right when the truck leaves you stranded. No more Ford vehicles for me. By the way, the first time the truck left me stranded was after only 6,500 miles when the transmission dropped into 1st gear from 4th. Also a TSA (and a recall part), but no notice from Ford until after it nearly caused an accident. read more
