I just purchase a 2006 ford f150 and not even a month later I had to spend $1200 in repairs that the warranty did not cover do to ware and tear I only had it for a month and I already needed a tuneup and windshield had a chip as well. The main sale rep Jeff Gelf would tell me that all the places that I got quote for prices we're ripoffs I even took it to Drew ford and he called them ripoffs too wow really!!! Please stay away if you are looking to buy anything used!! read more

We bought our 2nd vehicle from Encinitas Ford last weekend. Our first purchase was in 2015 and we wrote a 5 star review then. Since then, our oldest son also bought a car there. We returned last weekend to get a Ford Ranger for my husband. I will never buy a vehicle anywhere but Encinitas Ford! Mary Ann is amazing as the first contact and our sales person Austin was absolutely delightful. Once again, we worked with Kevin in Finance and he, again, made the experience painless. We were in and out -- from the time we arrived until we drove off -- 2 hours and 50 minutes. Start to finish. And a beautiful truck at a great price. Once again, thank you Encinitas Ford for making the experience so positive! By the way, we don't live in North County. We live in San Diego by SeaWorld but we drive all the way to Encinitas because we love this dealership. read more

I just would like to thank John from the service department for being such a kind person. He was very nice and super helpful.

We bought 2 cars at one time and have been pleased for last 6 years! Rigo in parts & service is wonderful and delivers the most amazing customer service. In an age when most people buy cars online, I trust this place and look forward to buying my next car. read more

Don't know about sales department but on 2 occasions I have been to the service department out of convenience as it is close. On both occasions I found the service personnel flippant and non customer friendly. Work was completed correctly but sales coordinator was not interactive relative to a completion time and did not call to notify when complete. Much better experiences at Kearney Pearson Ford. Don't know about other San Diego are Ford dealerships. read more

Special thanks to Drew Davis and everyone at Encinitas Ford for the great service during my car purchase! I visited twice before making the final decision and Drew was very helpful in exploring my options. I ended up with an AWESOME Edge and highly recommend! read more

I bought my car here years ago and take it in once in a while to get serviced. I prefer not to go to the dealer who charges 4 times more than my mechanic. But they send me service notices and so I made an appt. I pulled in to the service end and there was already a line! They must make a lot of appt's at the same time. I waited patiently in my car, since it was backed up, they had a service guy come to me to check me in, so by the time I got to the front, they were ready to take my car. They told me it would be about an hr and a half. I had errands to run, so I took off. They called me and told me my car was ready at about an hour and a half, so I walked back. It was all ready to go. I had a friendly conversation with a gentleman that has worked for them for 23 years in service but hurt his hand and is now helping out in the front. Super nice guy. The one who checked me out took forever. I nice lady asked if she could do it but the guy was already working on it So I waited. I think is nothing unusual for a service dept and all in all, I was happy. They have been really good to me all these years, always following up and sending me deals for service. If they have what I want for my next car, I would definitely go back and buy from them. read more

Great truck buying experience. Shopped for many months for the right truck. Encinitas Ford was one of the few dealerships that actually returned calls and followed up consistently. They were friendly, quick and made the transaction easy. There was even a minor issue with my windshield and they sent someone all the way to my home in Riverside to resolve. Overall I'd highly recommend and was super pleased with giving them my business. Everyone I dealt with from sales, finance and customer service was stellar. read more

Dale is service made me wait about 10 Minutes before he could help me on a Saturday morning with no other people around. Ford wants to take my car (they can't do this without the car bring LEFT there for several hours) and charge me $36 to add the HOLES for the front license plate. It is law to have the front license plate in California. Dodge did this for me last year in 5 minutes for free. Maybe I should take my car over there. read more

Finally got notice to bring my Mustang in for air bag replacement. Scheduling the appointment, bringing the car in to be serviced, and the whole experience was effortless. Also had them do a full scheduled maintenance job while they had the car for the recall. Couldn't be happier with the way I was helped. Great work all around! read more

I found a car online and stopped by for a test drive etc. We liked the car, salesman was nice enough (Dooley). The online price is basically the lowest price they want to sell the car for. I did my best to get a better deal and ended up walking. I thought I could get it for a better price. No such luck. I'd give them a higher rating if the online price was marked as "no haggle price". read more

I had a great experience at Encinitas Ford. From first speaking on the phone with Mary Ann, all the way through the entire process everyone was pleasant to work with. Mary Ann was extremely friendly and kind. Nate took me on the test drive and he was very patient, calm and attentive. He answered all my questions and there was absolutely no pressure put on me at any point in the process. Doug in finance was also very helpful and we had an enjoyable time even as I was signing numerous papers. After a relatively short time, I walked away with a beautiful Ford Escape. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a car that they come to Encinitas Ford. read more

If your looking for a Ford, be sure to make Encinitas Ford your very first stop! I started the process online, and was in and out of the dealership in less than two hours with a brand new car. The exact car I wanted with outstanding financing, trade in, and rebates. Be sure to see Sid Robinson, Sales & Leasing Agent. With Sid Robinson's professional and courteous assistance, it was the smoothest of four new car purchases that I've made. I received quick customer service. He listened to my needs and made everything work specific to my situation. I could not be any happier. read more

I brought my truck to another dealer while out of town due to a break down. The dealer could not fix it. Brought it here the next day and the service manager said he will having to me by noon. Sure enough I had it back and working like new. Great service team. I was treated with respect and felt great I had them do the work. That is the 3rd time I used them and will always go back! This place sets the standard. Every Ford dealer should live up to how Encinitas Ford treats its customers. I had an amazing buying experience with Kevin Sale. He really worked on my behalf to get me the best deal. A little story: Sometimes what differentiates a company from others is what they do when something goes wrong. After I bought the car, a problem turned up that would not have been covered under warranty. It wouldn't have been noticed before delivery unless they drove the car daily. Bad luck! I was so upset. I called Kevin and he worked to make things right. In two days I was picking up the vehicle from service, with everything fixed and at no charge to me. This would have been a costly repair (an estimate elsewhere came back at over $1400) but Encinitas Ford treats their customers right. They made this right. I won't go anywhere else! This is really a rare find - a trustworthy dealer! read more

Not happy at all! No stars is actually my rating! Took our Explorer in about a year and half ago to have the hatch back latch fixed. It was fixed. Then earlier this week, it broke again. I called and spoke with Service, they passed me off to Warranty. Warranty said Ford only has a 12 mo warranty and I was over it. I asked what they could do for me?... the nice lady said they might be able to help and passed me on to owner/mngr. Don. After I discussed that it was the same problem they fixed, Don said to bring it in so they could verify it wasn't something different and he would "see what he could do to help". He passed me on to a gal to schedule the appt. So... today I brought the Explorer in to see "what they could do". The nice gentleman wrote up a ticket and wanted me to sign and pay the $xyz diagnostic amount. I said no, that Don was taking care of it. He said Don told me there was a diagnostic fee... which is not true! Neither Don or the scheduling gal said anything about the diag. fee. (I don't like being blind sided.) So the nice gentleman went and got Don. Don first said he told me about the fee, I said that is a lie, that he nor scheduling said anything. Then he went on to say I only paid $xyz for the original fix, like the amount is no big deal. Well it may not be a big deal to someone in the management of a dealership, but it is a big deal to the small business owner, aka ME. I asked him if he was willing to stand behind the work they did and wave the diag fee. He said I would have to pay the diag. fee and then still pay the cost of repair. What a waist of time! If that is how Encinitas Ford does business, I will not be back for service or a new vehicle, nor will I encourage anyone to go there. Don could have simply waved the fee and found their faulty work broke! I guess quality service and customer satisfaction is not a priority! read more

The salesperson Dooley was great- very helpful, patient and understanding--even though i had bad credit he was able and willing to work with me. The finance manager, on the other hand, was terrible, as if I was not qualifiable and should never have stopped in. He was very judgemental; rolling eyes at me, arguing with me regarding facts regarding my situation. I almost walked out I was so insulted by his treatment. I had invested much time in purchase; typical story--time invested by a customer ensures deal--I wasn't happy with the requirements--however felt pressured and disregarded by finance department. I would recommend going elsewhere if you can. They willl finance you with bad credit--however-buyer beware!! Stay far away from finance Dept. David is his name and nice is not his game--The sales seems good, but behind the door is rudeness and judgement. read more

I went in wanting to look at a preowned 2013 ford focus hatchback. After a test drive with Ricky, I was set up with Andy Hutchison. Since i got my U.S licence back in May '15 I have been on the hunt for a car. A "proper" Car and not some jalopy that would crap out on me 2 months after I had paid like, 2k off a lot i'd never heard of or the kind that spring up only to vanish again half a year later. I moved to San Diego recently and knew at some point I would have to buy wheels. So I went shopping and everywhere I looked was a firm 'NO'. My credit history was none existant; I had not had a licence for a very long time; what kind of insurance or liability was I? Pretty much the same treatment I got when i was 17 back in England. No's all over. So I was pretty much consigned to the fact I would end up with a POS until it fell apart and then replace it with another. Recently I filled out this pre-qual authorization form that goes looking for you for dealerships that specialize in individual cases like mine, So I filled it out and didn't think anything of it as I had done similar times before about 3 and 6 months prior. The next morning I get a call from Mary Ann ( who has to be one of the most polite and loveliest people I have ever spoken to at a dealership) asking me to come down and take a look as they can definitely work with me. TBH I just thought that was spin for - "come down and buy what we tell you and then drive away hating your life". I could not have been more wrong. I got there and met with a gentleman called Andy who wanted to get to know my needs my requirements and offer a more familial approach on what I could realistically afford, rather than me just waltzing in there pointing to a Boy Racer I loved and then pouting because the bank would never finance me. Instead we sat and chatted and walked around and really had a long lengthy conversation about my first purchase here in America. My first Car. With all my information he proceeded to show me EXACTLY what I was looking for. I'm not throwing this out there lightly either. He absolutely nailed what I was looking for. And he did so in a very nurturing; caring and professional manner - wholly unlike the impression I had in my head of dealerships after my run ins with some absolute stonkingly awful Sales folks in the past who held a proverbial gun to my head and had decided my lot in life was to pay through the nose for something I loathed. When they say "we will work with you" here they REALLY really mean it. I know SO many places have ruined this phrase by churning it out as B.S but I could not have been further from the truth. They really REALLY really do work with you. Its transparent and its on the level. Yes your rate might be high since you have zero history with them or any other lender. Yes it sucks... FOR NOW. But all that is negotiable in a few years. And instead of driving around this ball and chain you just want to dump into the San Diego river you're actually driving something you love, care for and really enjoying as your investment in joining this family. Because that's how I felt here. I felt like my dad was walking me through buying a car. My mum was giving me advice and that they all had my best interests at heart rather than see me just leave completely defeated or go buy some God-awful junker and waste my money I had worked hard for. Family. Earnest desires to be of service. Support. And making the whole ordeal seem less like i was signing away my right lung, but putting one foot on the rung of a ladder that I thought was completely out of my reach, period. This is what Encinitas Ford means to me and showed me through their actions. So yesterday I drove off with my #2 pick! of all the cars I saw after they worked their collective butts off to create a package for me that worked and wasn't based solely on "we don't care how broke this makes you buy the damn thing and get out." moreover they created a customer for life. I swear the staff here have changed my entire outlook on how buying a car should be and I won't go anywhere else from now on. I told my Parentals back home in England and they were impressed. Business like this that run like this that run consistently like this instead of blowing smoke up your butt to make a quick and shady sale are few and far between. Little wonder that nearly all of my friends here that I surf with on my rare off days or know from the coast have ALL been here and gotten cars from here. And keep going back. I cannot recommend this place enough. They will be honest. They will listen they will really want you back for life - and it shows. Just go and listen. You owe it to your wallet and peace of mind, at the very least. Thank you THANK YOU Andy and co. for getting me my first car as an Immigrant here - it was a huge milestone for me personally and I could not have had a better team in my corner. As I drove off down through Olivenheim I called my Mum via the bluetooth and she said I sounded like I did when I passed my test at 17 back in Manchester I was THAT stoked. Family. Love 'em! read more

Deceptive practices - watch out! Just beware of possible deceptive car dealership tactics if you visit this dealer! What ever happened to honesty and integrity? Online, we found the car we wanted and talked to a sales representative, Daniel, to negotiate the deal. We told Daniel it would take us about two hours (each way), and therefore it was critically important that all details of the offer be firm before we hit the road for the long drive. Daniel calculated the exact cost we would pay for the vehicle (vehicle, plus tax and license), so off we went on our drive to pick up the vehicle. Once we arrive, the vehicle wasn't washed or detailed, but it was good enough, so we entered their trailer-like offices to sign the paperwork. We were completely appalled that the paperwork presented to us had the original price!!! We asked to meet with the manager, Jeff, and explained the situation (and even presented text messages as proof of the negotiation with his employee), but unfortunately Jeff decided not to honor the deal. The fact that this business did not operate in good faith made us walk away. Honesty and integrity is not what we found at this dealership. We operated in good faith (spending over 4 hours driving), however they used the lower price as a ploy to get us in the dealership, then pulled the rug once we we're there. So, so sad that people choose do business this way read more

I've been happy here especially with my service guy Jeff Glover who always explains, helps, goes out of his way to take care of my truck's repairs and work with me on rentals and costs. I recently drove all the way from Los Angeles to purchase an F-150 from these fine folks. And it was well worth the drive. 2015 edit - probably the worst experience I've had and once again - a crap car and bad service. Transmission started slamming, they said it was a quick computer flash. Come in the next day, turns out it takes all day. They don't even know their own process? Okay. Also, a panel was the wrong color in my car. They replaced it, but didn't install it all the way. Now there is a half inch gap between the metal and the cover of the door. What a joke. - - - - - - - - - You have been weighed in the balance and found wanting. I'll update with a more detailed description later, but here is the quick and dirty. Bought a used car. Finance called me, said I didn't make a payment that I needed to; I had already made the payment. They finally figured it out after the shakedown call. It stopped running after 72 hours. Took it back - service shop screwed up paper work left and right, couldn't tell me any codes and was avoiding/hiding telling me that my car wasn't even at their place. Told me my car may be ready on Saturday; shop isn't even open on Saturday. Mari-Ann and Wheeler (owner) had to get involved. Wheeler agreed to take care of the payment for the time it was in the shop and to replace the part that I thought was wrong... That's right. I am a network geek and I diagnosed my own car better than actual mechanic who do this for a living. Guess what? Yeah, I was right, it was that part. Flash forward to last week - car has cost me over $1300 in additional repairs (5 months of ownership). Chalk it up to a bad buyers decision. I go back to Encinitas because I shook Marks hand and promised him I would when I was looking to buy a new one. I figured "There were problems, but in the end, they got handled how I would have handled them". Now... Well... I bought a 2013 Ford Focus and when I go into the dealership to turn in some extra paper work, I find out that they tried to run MY card for someone else's payment. The reasoning; we have the same first name. Not last name, not complete name. Just first name. I've contacted Ford Corporate and am awaiting to see what comes of it, but at this time I can't believe I actually went back there. I stuck to my word, I gave a promise. If there is anything good to say about this place is at least the are consistent. I had a yelp review up for the previous experience, but took it down because I told Wheeler I would. Sorry Mark, but come on dude, I gave you all a second chance and look what happened. Your head has got to be shaking right now. read more

We've purchased 3 vehicles from this dealership over the years. The last one was a true lemon. The general manager, as well as the service manager went out of their way during the process. We were supplied with a loaner through the repair attempts. They helped us navigate the Lemon Law process to have Ford repurchase the vehicle. Today they went out of their way to find the perfect replacement truck. We can't say enough of their genuine care and professionalism throughout this long process. It's one thing to sell you a vehicle - it's quite another to treat you as a valued customer after the sale. If there were 100 stars - we'd rate them at 100! read more

Absolutely the WORST customer service/ auto maintenance service I had ever experience. I made an appointment for a oil change and A/C service. Dropped the car off first thing in the morning. First, I did not get an update until I made contact and finally I get a call for the Service Manager At 3:30 PM stating that oil has been changed, but A/C will not be looked at until a later time/ day. What a joke. Made absolutely no sense for an oil change to take 8 hours. The Service Manager proceeds to say " they have not done a diagnosis on the A/C" and don't have time for it. Ridiculous, I could have went to Jiffy Lube down the street for a 30 min oil change. No reason why I could not have even got a diagnosis when car was there for 10 hours. That's why I made an appointment to have the car A/C looked at. I will not return for auto service at Encinitas Ford and will take my business elsewhere moving forward. I agree with many others on this forum - if I could give them a NEGATIVE star - I would. This place is about as shady as it comes. I've had multiple dealings with this dealership over the years - from shopping for a car to service. My last experience finally drove me to write this review. BE ADVISED, if you use Encinitas Ford for service, carefully review both the recommended work as well as the work performed. I recently took my truck in for service and, no surprise, the service rep recommended another $1000 of additional work. Also, when challenged on the justification for the additional work - particularly because some of their recommendations conflicted with Fords own service recommendations, the service rep gave some very weak justification. In addition, they also recommended product that I just replaced! Either they didn't even check or they flat out lied. Just stay away. Ford should pull their dealership license. read more
