Juan and his partner were very friendly, respectful, and professional. The quality of work was impressive. They cleaned up, hauled the old carpet away and the furniture was as they found it. They worked hard until the job was done. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Installers did a piss poor job, my floor is still warped and the toilet was put back improperly caus it to leak through the floor they just claimed to fix to my downstairs living room. So we recently purchased a new home (approximately 1500 sq ft) and needed carpeting for every room sans garage. I called Empire solely based on their buy one, get two free promotion. I scheduled an in-home estimate and here's what happened when the salesperson came by: 1. The salesperson didn't even bring in any "buy one, get two free" carpeting. When I asked about it, she said I wouldn't want it anyway because the promotion is only for crappy carpeting. Great, next time try emphasizing that in your commercials before I waste my time. Maybe it's just me, but I find that very disingenuous that Empire does that kind of advertising when it's only restricted to the crappiest quality stuff and that your own salesperson won't even show it to me because, apparently, it's that bad. 2. Not only did the salesperson not show us any "buy one, get two free" carpeting, she also didn't initially bring in any nylon carpet. We had to ask for it and even then, she brought only one sample, which wasn't even very good. She also kept pushing us to buy her polyester carpet. Sorry if I want a more thorough selection and don't want to be pressured to buy whatever it is you're trying to get rid of. 3. Salesperson did say if we wanted to do the bathrooms (we have 2.5 at our place), she had some tiles that did qualify for the buy one, get two free promotion. We were thinking OK, that's good news...that is until she gave us the estimate. Tiling for 3 bathrooms (all of which are pretty small) came out to be close to $1,700 before tax. From what we've been told, tiling normally costs about $500-$600 per bathroom, depending on size, tiling selected, etc. I have no clue how our bill could come out to be that high WITH the buy one, get two free promotion. 4. Salesperson would NOT give us price per square feet. She kept reiterating that prices are based on the project, not the area. The final estimate for polyester carpet + tiling 3 bathrooms came out to be a shade over $6,000, tax included. In sum, if you want straight answers, good selection, fair pricing, and accurate advertising, you probably want to look elsewhere. On the other hand if you don't mind disingenuous advertising, choosing from only whatever the salesperson wants to sell you (in our case, that was originally 3 carpet samples), ambiguous answers about price per sq ft, and crooked pricing (at least for our tiling), Empire is your choice. For us, we're still looking. We heard good things about laminates from IKEA so we'll give that a look see. read more

Here's the shorthand version. Had a guy come out for a quote. $4000. OK, that's what other guys said but, they were boasting 50% off. So the regular price would be $8000? OK, so that's obviously crap, but wasn't interested in discounts. The main reason I was interested in them was because I needed it done asap and empire boasts "next day". Biggest problem is they said they couldn't save my baseboards, which are a very specific stain to match all the other woodwork and would be costly and a pain to reproduce. The baseboard is only 6 yrs old, and I already removed it from one room and it came off just fine and is ready for re-installation, and I'm an AMATEUR! Told him we'd think about it. Got a call a few days later from a "rep" who said "hey we can do that job for $2100 now". REALLY!?! So your saying if I said yes the other day you would have taken me for an extra $1900??!!!! He proceeded to say "well, maybe the rep who came out was off" Again, REALLY!????!!!! By almost twice the right price???!!!!! That's not a mistake, that's a RIP-OFF!!! Look at these reviews. I mean, OK some businesses have some 1s but it's usually a mix. but these guys are pretty much ALL 1 star. Give your money to a local honest small business, you're not saving anything with empire and may even get ripped off. read more

Met with sales person. Sold carpet and install scheduled. Installers show up, walk in, literally take 5 mins and say they cant do the removal and need to call their boss for direction. They get in the van and drive off. No communication about what happens next. Message left by Ronnie with no call back number. My office is shut down to do this carpet install. Call customer service and no-one is there. Get sent to Texas. Get sent around the United States. Finally connect with someone who says the installers don't want to remove old carpet because it takes too much time. Amy cant seem to figure out how to help. Tells me I need to rip out my own carpet even though the contract I signed with Empire states they will do the rip out. It is IN the contract. No help given by Empire. Monday morning, when my office opens, I cannot serve clients and am literally losing money because I cannot use my own space due to prepping for carpet install for Saturday. I ask for a refund and told it will take 7-10 days to put back on my credit card. Mean while, I cant see clients because the carpet is not in. The incompetency of this place literally is costing me money. And... It was not next day installation. It was a 2 week book out. Getting to a real person that can help is impossible with this company. This is the most poorly run business I have ever seen. Poor customer services and once they get your money you might as well forget it. Run from this company. read more

The old English phrase "a leopard cannot change it's spots" is one that comes to mind...We weren't too trusting of Empire - the flooring people because a few years ago, they tried to get us to commit to carpet our 4 bedroom house for $18,000.00 a few years ago!; however, we decided to give them a try to see if they changed... This time, we wanted to tile the bathroom & laundry room, wood laminate the downstairs family room and hallway, and maybe carpet the two bedrooms - the price seemed fair and the offer to laminate the 3 stairs downstairs at no extra charge was the clincher...so we signed the papers to have it done... Clue One: As we debated to carpet the bedrooms - we decided to go with the wood laminate, called our representative and he quoted a price of $1700.00! - a bit steep for two 10' x 12' rooms don't you think? So we decided to price match.. Clue Two: When the gentleman came over to install wood laminate, he stated that you can't put this on stairs cause it's too slippery?? (What does that say for the whole downstairs then...) So we ripped out the carpet for nothing! Clue Three: I got the price match from Lumber Liquidators for $826.96 (material & installation) called up our rep again to let him know and he says he can't match it?? What about the television and radio ads talking about price matching, to which he replied - I'll come down to $1500.00 but no more!? Clue Four: (my favorite) Then our rep states - you quote 7mm wood laminate, an inferior product, while the laminate we install in 10mm, a higher quality of wood laminate...I have a couple of empty boxes of the Empire wood laminate here and it is 7mm - so my question now is: Did Empire install an inferior 7mm wood laminate on our floor or is it suppose to be 10mm that their representative stated in his email? - Nothing further from our rep!! Clue Five: I started talking to customer service but they needed a copy of the price match paperwork - and when she went to our rep and his manager, they seem to have lost the paperwork so they want me to have Lumber Liquidators come out for another measurement! Clue Six: In the mean time as they drag their feet and talk to us every other day, I decided to ask Empire customer service the same question: Did Empire install an inferior 7mm wood laminate on our floor or is it suppose to be 10mm that their representative stated in his email? - Nothing further over the past week! Shame on you Empire! You continue to dupe people out of their hard earned money, charging extraordinary prices, claiming that you match prices of your competitors when you clearly don't, and probably don't install the correct item that people purchase! At least it seems that way based on my comments above...If there is anything we did learn from this process, it was: that the old English phrase "a leopard cannot change it's spots" is true... read more

Not even sure where to begin. Due to the catchy jingle, this was the first carpet installer we contacted to do our 200 square foot bedroom in laminate flooring. We were quoted almost $4k, which to me, even though I hadn't done my research, seemed high. The sales guy finally came down to $2500 and we felt a bit better. After confirming our apt slot, we did a bit of shopping around to find out that we were WAAAAAY overbid. I was finding $700 to $1100 quotes for the same product including installation. I called Empire back and they knocked the price down to $1500. Knowing we already had a time slot booked and they'd already been out to see the space, I caved and said okay. Two weeks later brings us to today, installation day. Where it all went downhill. Got a call at 7.30 from our installer this morning - oh great, he's calling to let me know his time frame of arrival today... no no, he's here, early. Ah well, that's great. We'll be done early. He then tells me that they are actually out of stock on the trim that they need to complete the job, so they'll have to come back a second time to finish he installation. He is telling me this WHILE OUTSIDE OF OUR UNIT, as though we are going to cancel on it with him standing outside. They had TWO WEEKS to let us know they were out of stock. All our clothes had been removed from the closets, our drawers removed from the dressers, our room upheaved to prepare for this installation. There is no way we were turning back now and they KNEW that. Sleazy. We then realized there was only one installer. Which meant that my husband and I (I'm pregnant btw) were responsible for helping a) move the furniture with our installer b) bringing all the product, pads, and equipment up from the truck - which there was a lot of and it was heavy and c) help haul our old carpet away. NONE of this is something we signed up for. I called the corporate office to complain and they spun me in circles saying 'your satisfaction is guaranteed' as the answer to both of my complaints on the above. Not sure where that got me... nowhere really so I plan to call back later to hopefully talk to someone more competent. to at least get a further discount for doing half the labor ourselves... and for an incomplete job and the hassle of having to do this all over again in a week. My husband is now at home dealing with the mess (likely helping install since they only sent one man because of the 'nature of the job only required one man') And this means that we lose yet ANOTHER day to an install where we'll have to rip out the furniture, uproot our lives yet again so they can complete the job. DO NOT USE EMPIRE IF YOU CAN HELP IT. read more

Overall I would say the experience was great. Kelly our salesperson was very knowledgeable and was very low pressure. She did a good measurement, showed us many samples of carpet based on our initial phone call to tell her on what we were looking for. I don't expect someone to haul every sample they have to my house, they'd need a moving van. Anyway, all in all it was good. Pros: Very clean, neat and professional installation. This included all new tack boards, haul away of the old carpet and moving of furniture to a degree. Cons: The installers need to understand english a little better to explain certain elements of the installation process. They are subcontracted by Empire, but they must sign an exclusivity contract with Empire to work for them. Side note: Wait to make a deal as the corporate office called and gave us a quote that was half what we received the day we met. And yes they honored their buy one room and two rooms free. read more

Totally over priced, i had them come out and do an estimate. they tried saying it would be just shy of 12k for my entire house and that was on their special of buy 2 rooms rest are free, so you are saying it was 6k for two rooms whatever. I took their measurements down to Great Floors for the same stuff, installed etc it was only 6.5K. read more

We just bought a new home and needed to re-carpet a couple rooms before we moved in. I checked out Empire Today since they have so many ads on TV. Their website was useless to figure out a rough price or get any details on what was available. I also checked out the reviews on Yelp and was amazed at how many bad reviews they had. I did see that on average the rating was quite low but there were two kinds of reviews - "these guys suck" or "these guys rock" and not much in between. After learning more about the firm, I think one reason for this is they use independent contractors for sales and installation, so quite a variation in the quality of both is to be expected. I made an appointment to have a sales rep come to the house, but the more I read, the more concerned I was. We looked at carpet at a few other places (Home Depot, Lowes) so we had a pretty good idea of our target price. The problem was most places don't stock much and it can be 4-5 weeks before you get the install or settle for something in stock that really isn't what you want. We wanted it done in less than a week, before we moved in. So the appointment time came, and a local rep (Mike Brame) showed up. He brought in a pile of carpet samples and took some measurements and we talked about our lifestyle and what carpets we liked and what would work best for us (particularly since we have two big dogs). He was very knowledgeable about the products and what works better and the pros/cons of the different types. One of the first things I told Mike was I was aware of how poor their Yelp rating was. He was very aware of this. He said several of the good reviews were his customers and he took pride in that and he promised to make sure the install went well and resolve any problems. I also mentioned that many of the reviews had two common threads: initial pricing was initially very inflated to make you feel better when you "negotiated" them down by 50% or more. The other common thread was poor installation quality regarding damage, etc. So to get things started on the right foot and not waste our time, I told Mike I had a price target in mind of about $4 a foot installed (two rooms and some stairs) and haul away of the old carpet. So we picked the carpet and colors (different colors in the two rooms and a different carpet on the stairs). He ran the numbers and came up with a not unreasonable first offer. My wife and I talked about it and countered with a lower price with, tax included, must be installed within a week, free haul away and no interest financing for 12 months. After a couple calls, he got the offer approved with the free financing. So today (4 days after we signed the deal), the carpet was installed very quickly and looked great. The two guys on the crew worked pretty fast, did not damage anything and cleaned up perfectly when they were done. They arrived exactly at the promised time, said it would take 3-3.5 hours and it took them just over 3. All in all I have to say we were quite happy. The sales process was pretty painless (maybe because I made our expectations clear up front), the carpet is very nice quality, the colors are great and the installation was done very well. For others considering them, do your homework and know about these wildly varying reviews and address them. Know what other carpet places charge and have a target in mind for total price. read more

Wow everything the other reviews said was true. These people will come to your home and give you a ridiculously high quote. The associate even said i was unrealistic about how much I actually wanted to spend. Little did he know I already had 2 other quotes before he came! My room was probably about 430 Sq Ft and I was quoted $7000 + for laminate floors! When I asked why the quote was so high compared to other estimates I got from Home Depot and Lumber liquidators the associate stated that Empire only has the highest quality floors.... and talked about some sales gimmicks that no one would understand or care about. He ended up calling his manager and magically took down a few thousand dollars to 5,000-6000$ for two different laminate floor options. Which was still higher than Home Depot and Lumber liquidators. I would not recommend going with empire, they didnt bring very many options and do not have a show room for you to see additional options. Floors are a huge investment and you should see all your options beforehand. I would recommend you go to the home depot and Lumber liquidators show rooms to see more options. read more

Empire sold us a product (tile) that was not in stock. We did all the prep the day before the install (removed the toilet from the master bath, moved the dryer and disconnected the washer, moved the freezer (after emptying everything out of it, covered the furniture with plastic). Then, the day of the install, 9:00 came and went and then 10:00. At 10:25 - Empire called to say the product we ordered was NOT in stock. There was not an estimated date when the product we ordered would be in stock. Empire customer service had called the day before the install to confirm everything. No one from the sales office, customer service or management called to apologize or offer a solution. This was our FOURTH purchase from Empire Today. It will be our LAST. read more

Holy bad reviews batman! I have no idea why these guys have such bad ratings here, because after the experience we had today, I have nothing but praise for empire today! So we had been on the long quest for carpeting: quoted from Home Depot, lowes, even private contractors and either it was ridiculous expensive or too sketchy. It was my mom who actually recommended I try empire today based on a great experience her friend had- so that we did! Called and had our free consultation set up initially with a gentlemen whose name I regretfully misplaced (we had met with him right around the time I had given birth to my son...so I blame the baby brain!) - This salesman was very polite, patient, and not at all pushy! He also had a great southern accent (I hope this review may help place him one day!) We had been left with a great amount of information but at that time were still unsure of what option was best for us. Three months go by and we set up our second consultation- the salesman this time was no where near as friendly and was opposite of the first man: young, impatient, very pushy...though, lucky him, we were ready with what we wanted. Set up the appointment after our second consultation yesterday to have our whole house redone today...and I am beyond impressed! I received a prompt phone call, as mentioned, this morning informing me the team would be here in between 8:30-9:30 am. They arrived at 9:10 and began straight away! I was a bit nervous, having a 5 year old and a now 6 month old baby, not knowing if I would have any space to tend to them or if I would be in the way. However, the men were very polite and helpful. They moved absolutely everything and put it all back neatly in place. The job was finished by 5 pm with fantastic results! I can't believe how quick but perfect our carpeting now looks! It is like a whole new house. The men asked if we would like to keep the extra bit of carpet roll as well, which we did, and even asked if we wanted them to add a bit into a closet which was overlooked during our consultation (just because.) They swept, vacuumed and cleaned every last bit and had us do a look over before leaving. Now that all is said and done...according to these reviews, I am wondering which part of experience my "nightmare" should have begun...though I am pleased to say, I have nothing bad to report. Sure, Empire isn't the cheapest but they aren't the most expensive either. The work is fast, sufficient, tidy, and hey, kid friendly too! They definitely don't deserve ONE star (if you look at the history of some yelpers though, you'll notice they only seem to log on here to complain...) I will definitely be recommending Empire Today to everyone I know! read more

This company is incompetent across the board. The sales guy lied to get the sale. The installers were late and unable to do job and the manager of customer service as well as install manager haven't called me back. It's been 11days and still no refund. The only ones who called back were other sales guys trying to save the sale. I have made probably close to thirty phone calls and still no further in refund process. They deserve negative stars. read more

If I could give a zero I would. But the installers were amazing. The company is not. I got their quote and it was higher than another vendor's. I was going with the other vendor when they called me and matched that other vendor's price. When the installers came they collected the 1st original quote. The representative told me I would get my refund of 154.00 in 1 week since the 1st quote was in the system and they had not changed it. Since it's a big company I believed them. 1 month and 1/2 later after many calls I'm still waiting for my refund. I should have never believed they were going to match my lower quote. Next time I have a low quote from another vendor I will have that vendor do the work and not believe It will be matched. Never using Empire Today again. I still need other parts of the house done, they will not be doing anymore of my floors. read more

Do not expect ANY customer service after they have your signature. Made an appointment using 1800 number, salesman showed up at our scheduled time showed us all options worked a "deal" with his boss over speakerphone with us. We were told the laminates for the 2 bedrooms, living, dining rooms, kitchen and hallway would take 2 days (Wednesday and Thursday) and the linoleum for the laundry room and bathrooms would have to be done on Monday. Next day really meant two days out, but we were in no hurry so it worked out fine for us. Contractors, Fransisco and Henry I believe, were AWESOME. Showed up on time, Empire did not communicate that our condo was on the 3rd floor to them or inform them that we were financed so after about a half hour of them having to call the office and work out all the miscommunications they were able to get to work. They (the contractors)did a FANTASTIC job, finished in the two days we were told it would take. Very professional and friendly. Monday comes and our scheduled time is 8-10 AM. My husband gets a call at 945 and the contractor informs him that he has another job and won't be there until "this afternoon". They show up at FOUR PM. First they ask if we want the existing trim put back up because they dont have any new trim on the order. After we say that is fine because we just want our washer and dryer back inside instead of on the front porch, they claim that there is too much moisture in the rooms and that we should have had fans going to eliminate it. They left after 10 minutes. We have concrete sub-floors, and were never informed about fans or dehumidifiers. Empire customer service number employees are of ZERO help in trying to resolve any issues, but commenting on Empire's facebook page conveniently got us a callback. Not a very helpful call as we STILL have no new linoleum in our 3 small rooms but a callback nonetheless. From a customers point of view, it seems like the second contractors and Empire as a whole didn't see much profit in three small rooms so using "moisture" as an excuse was enough for them. read more

This is one of the worst companies that I have dealt with regarding their customer service. Their sales people are like used car salesmen. They will quote you a price and then say it's the best price but when you decline, they will come back with a better price. I did this 4 times and keep getting better pricing. I still wonder if I got a good deal. Then their installers are even worst (even worst than the Cable & Satellite TV companies). They set a time for me on Tuesday 08/18/15 (LVT install 2 bathrooms & Sheet Vinyl install laundry room) & Wednesday 08/19/15 (grout work) and they missed their own appointment. Took off work for nothing. Then they reschedule for Saturday 8/22 and promise to send 2 crews in the morning. Waited all day for them and at 3 pm, 1 guy shows up and says he can only do 1 of the rooms so pick one because he can't work after 5 pm. Had him do the laundry room because I haven't been able to do laundry for a week b/c I had the washer & dryer disconnected on Monday 8/21. Then the customer service reschedules me for Monday 8/31 and then on Monday they now say they can't do it. Needed the LVT installed before the carpet gets installed which was scheduled for 9/3 Thursday. Now they both need to be rescheduled to late September for LVT and October for Carpet. I don't recommend Empire Today and will never refer them to anyone that I know unless you like playing their price game and will take multiple days off work to work around their schedule. The worst thing is their customer service on the 800# are just schedule takers (basically phone operators with no power to do anything). They will need to contact the "local market" and they just say sorry and try to reschedule you again. Worst Company Ever! Don't use them. read more

Don't ever buy anything from Empire Carpets! I took the day off(missed wages here!) to find out that the appt i made for them to inspect my floor(which are splintering) for today was not even on their books! I have added photos of barely 2 yro flooring supposedly to last 25 years(stain not adhering to the planks and splintering at seams) for ur viewing pleasure. Keep in mind no one is allowed to wear shoes past the door. These is supposedly hardy wood, dipped 25 times in stain, and was told it would withstand two dogs. It barely made three months after installation of flooring and had inspector come out to see the failing, he sent repair crew to fix the problems, but to repair the whole problem they had to replace all the flooring in dining room area and company didn't send enough wood planks to replace it. Also found a cracked plank that never got replaced. Technician told me post installation that if it peels off again to just buy stain pen to fix!?!?!? Really!!!!! @ 6 month mark started seeing the stain again come off the flooring, but since i now have to wrk 3 jobs to pay for this floor i don't have time to take off. Fast forward to xmas almost 2 yrs since initial installation i have been trying not to complain and bitch, now I'm walking down hallway with socks on and get stabbed in the foot with 3 inch splinter from the flooring! So now i call and complain. Every time i call to make appt i either get hung up on or forwarded to voice mail. read more

After having a great LVP (luxury vinyl plank/faux wood look) install the 1st go round, my wife and I decided to have more of our house completed by Empire. Well after cancelling the first outrageously priced quote, we were provided a second more reasonable quote via email no less, and this was only due to a survey that was completed after cancelling the original quoted price ($5K worth of work/product). This email was responded to in great detail, however there was no return communication/feedback re: scheduling, etc. After finally spending multiple weeks, much time, and speaking to Victor at the customer service dept whom was unwilling to reschedule the initial (new quoted price install of $3K) even after I had to complete all the leg work of communication, I cancelled the entire order (over 1000+sq ft). I stated "I had to contact you all for 3+wks, and you can't adjust the install for 2wks, as well as provide the same quote?! There definitely is nothing you nor your company can do for me anymore Sir." Empire definitely does not care about losing business, even potential returning customers and it clearly shows in their lack of communication. Sidenote - Great Floors can provide the same type of product with a less expensive price. Just ask and/or provide the brand, style, etc. and it can be ordered. Seek products elsewhere. read more

I had them out 2x to give me a bid after deciding to add tile to the entry also. First somehow he forgot to measure the 3rd bedroom and then acted surprised I wanted to do it also. LOL (whole house has been re textured and painted. No drop clothes other than old carpet. Yeah I want to keep the old carpet. haha) Remember it was just re painted meaning there is NO furniture, no trim, nothing to obstruct view of anything not even a refrigerator. Finally got a solid bid that included removing linoleum, underlayment, installing plywood backing and LVT tile in Kitchen, entry, laundry room and 2 bathrooms. Also new carpet in Living room, dining room, hallway and 3 bedrooms. Day of install the installers wanted to install LVT over existing tile and linoleum that would have put it 1/2 higher than the carpet. NOT.. They didn't want to remove the underlayment/particleboard. I was then quoted $1000+ for the extra work and told them No, cancel the work. Manager called back trying to make excuses why the person giving me the bid would not know about the particleboard until I told them the house is empty and even edges of the linoleum is pulled up. Bottom line I would not pay the Extra $1000+ and canceled the job. Last minute up-sell. I wont use or recommend. Wasted my time, 2 weeks waiting for them to start. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Had them install carpet in my family room over hardwood floors for my kids well after 2 years decided to take the carpet out and refinish the floors. After taking the carpet out my wood floors were destroyed from their install. They also installed carpet in my back kids play room. The track strips along the edge go right through the carpet and into your feet. Great to have when it's a play room for little kids. I called customer service and was told I would get a call back within 24 hours to make things right. That was 2 weeks ago and haven't heard a word. Since then I went out and spent the money to put new floors in to make it safe for kids. No customer service and they dont care about anything but making money off you and not following up with their end. Worst experience I have ever had with a company. read more

So far, we are unhappy customers. We had an estimate scheduled from 5-7pm last night. My husband left work early to make sure he was home for the entire appointment window as all decision makers are asked to be present. At 5:20pm we got a phone call that the estimator was running late and would show up between 7-7:30pm. Although it delayed our dinner, we said that would be fine. 7:30 came and went with no one showing up and no one calling. I called the 800 number and talked with someone who said 7:30 was outside the window someone would show up anyhow and we would need to reschedule. I haven't even scheduled anything with this company and I am already pissed off. My husband went on homeadvisor.com and requested an appointment for a quote on laminate flooring April 28th. They set a time immediately and then canceled 5 minutes later. He gave them my phone number and since then have been emailing us both relentlessly trying to set up a new appoinment. Starting this morning May 12th, the phone calls and text messages started. I received the first phone call at 9 am and have been called 9 times since and sent 6 text messages. I am at work and answered the phone on my lunch break and asked the salesman to stop calling me. I wrote down his number and told him that my husband would be calling him back from a different phone. An hour later he called back on my phone and asked for my husband. I admit to yelling and swearing saying "Stop f--ing calling me!" And the salesman saying "do not curse at me or I will hang up". I am hoping that they will now leave me alone. It is obvious that we are not interested. After reading their reviews, I feel like we dodged a bullet. We booked an installation for today last week, moved ALL our furniture, tore up one room's carpet to seal sub floor ourselves, etc. We were supposed to get confirmation call last night or this morning. We waited and waited. My husband took the day off today!! Finally called them. OUR CARPET IS ON BACK ORDER FOR TWO WEEKS!!! We are supposed to live in a completely torn up home for two weeks, and NO ONE even let us know!! They just weren't going to show up???Wtf?? When we talked to supervisor, all they said was "sorry!" No discount, no solution! Just sorry??? Never doing business with them again!!! read more

Set up 2 appointments for a estimate and both times technician never showed up. The first time I called customer service 15mins after the scheduled appointment window and they couldn't get a hold for there tech. Rescheduled and got a friend to watch my home so they could get in and again never showed up. Wasting a whole afternoon. If I give them a 3rd chance I would expect a discount read more

These people are not even professional enough to show up for initial appointment do not believe they would show to do the work. Rep wanted to show at 11am for a 1-3pm appointment. Then at 1:15 they call to say he has "car trouble". Doubtful I bet he just didn't want to make the drive out here. They claimed there was no one to take my appointment. I will not use these guys ever. read more

Can't contact anybody for issues about installation. Sales, installation manager won't return calls so as the main line, wants you to leave message. read more

Set up an appointment for an estimate online, Got the day i wanted. My sales person was Judy, she was great, no pressure. We decided to go with them because they could get it done in the time frame i needed. Minus the star because I got a call the day before install to say they were short on flooring. Id like to think once i book an install, the material is allocated to the job, i guess not. So they had to return a week later to finish the job, sort of an inconvenience when i need my days off to pack. The installers were great tho. They worked hard the whole time, and did a great job. The floors look great! They also cleaned up very well too. I read a lot of reviews on Yelp, and thought hopefully i could be one of the few lucky ones that didn't have catastrophic issues, and i lucked out. I would recommend them. read more

I was hoping things would go better, but dealing with Empire was very frustrating. The flooring I ended up with is great and we love it. The problems were with the paperwork and communication side of things. Here are the issues that happened: 1. The salesman wrote my back-up number as the main number, so my daughter was called instead of me. I called 5 times to switch it to my number, but nope- they always called her. 2. One of the reasons I decided to get the floors now was the 12 months same as cash program. The salesman had me fill out the forms and he called and I was approved on the spot. When installation day came, there was no record of that and I had to pay cash on the spot before they could install it. For the carpet installation a month later, the installer said it shows as Wells Fargo credit, so I thought they had fixed it. A month later my daughter starts getting calls again- asking for payment in full. When I called them back they had no record of a Wells Fargo Account and that I needed to Pay it in full or they could send an agent out (another 4 hour window) to fill out the forms again. 3. Just be aware that any of their specials are for the low end products only. We paid more for the higher quality flooring and are happy with that. They contract out the installation and both teams were good. read more

I called them THREE times over five days to install carpet for rooms that they already measured. All three times the dispatcher was unable to contact a sales rep and said that she would leave a voicemail and I could expect a call within 24 hours. They never called me back. Chose another company that will have the carpet done next week. These guys are a waste of time. I am a realtor with a very large company. I will definitely go out of my way to make sure that none of my associates are stupid enough to try to work with these guys. read more

I won't be using this service in my lifetime. Overpriced and there deposit policy is ridiculous.

Cheap and worthless. The document has several pages of lawyer written wiggle terms. And when the product is installed by illegals they use every paragraph to deny whatever you thought you were guaranteed for. AMY at 360-839-2351 is the Customer Service denier. I suspect the Attorney General Consumer fraud division has a file. They advertise all the time but they do not have employees to to the work. They contract out. read more

Sales representative knowledgeable and willing to listen. Very easy and non-stressful. Installers did a great job. Very careful of our home and belongings. Moved heavy items and replaced. Carpet looks great. Would definitely use Empire again. read more

This is twofold. Scheduled appointment online for a quote on carpet and blinds. Locked day and time in. Took time off from work to make sure I would be there. Right before my scheduled appointment, I receive an email. Not a phone call. An email stating my appointment was for another date and time I did not schedule it for. So I called the customer support rep who was very nice. She scheduled me for today 8/16/2018 between 7 and 9pm. I received an automated call at 6:48pm saying the technician will be out in 30 minutes. At 9:10pm I call the customer support person saying I received a call the person was coming out and no one ever called or showed up. She was super nice as well and offered to reschedule me. I told her no thanks as I will find a reliable company. From my experience I will never use this place. Completely unprofessional to no call no show. That is basic business etiquette. read more
