Love this place. Price is affordable since it's all you can eat. Staff is nice and they have a decent selection of food. Been going every Saturday for years. Kid friendly as well. read more

Long time buffet enjoyer. But you guys really need to clean! I was recently seated under a wet ceiling and next to this moldy disgusting cord. Foods good but I lost my appetite and will need to stay away for a while. But don't worry I'll be back read more

Empire Buffet - Chinese Near Me - Woonsocket, Rhode Island

I'm not the type to bash on people. I've been a regular customer. The waitress messed up my drink order. Gave coke instead of Diet Coke. Understandable mistake but I'm a type one diabetic so I carb count. Bill came out to $78 for my family. Five of us. This is where it gets weird. Waitress counts the money in front of my family and points at the tip line. Mind you I left $94. Confused I ask her what she meant. She said I forgot the "tax"(she meant tip). I told her I tipped more than 20% which is unusual for buffet style. She looks at the money and apologizes. Super embarrassing. I really feel no one should be asking for a tip especially not that aggressively. Might not come back again. Super disappointed. read more

I love it it is clean I love the food but it is sometime moldy the bathrooms are not in the best condition but is is a good place.

We went on a night where the place wasn't too busy but the food was incredible. Plenty of it and everything was hot. A very good value for the price they charge for the buffet. They do not offer a senior discount. read more

It's a buffet right , tell me why, I made it through my first plate went onto my second and then went up for a desert to finish, and the lady started aggressively sweeping the floor so I couldn't get to the food literally had to jog away from her as she practically chased me down with the broom, then to top it off , my bill came to 98 bucks as expected for the 5 of us , at a SELF SERVE BUFFET and we pay the money and one of the workers had the audacity to demand a tip for doing absolutely nothing for us other than bringing us a check. Nasty work ethic and terrible customer service . read more

The food was generally bland and tasteless. I tried many dishes, nothing was outstanding. Price was decent, ice cream was ok, dessert and fruit not bad, orange slices were good, hot and sour soup was nothing special, mussels were picked over when I got there, no sushi, chicken wings looked a little scary, big problem was the general bland flavoring overall. Was not impressed. Hope they can step it up in the future. read more

stayas far away as possible from this place.....every time we eat there we get some kind of food poisoning....been on the toilet for 3 days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Seats people of color in a separate room or in the far back corner. The ones or Manger sits and stares at you. The servers are most ok just looks like a toxic work environment. The food is mostly just fare its the professionalism and respect for all people that's lacking. Won't be going back there, and I would not recommend it. Hopefully there's a change in ownership or management soon. read more

Great selection of food. Very clean, fresh, hot and immaculate. Great price for a huge lunch buffet. Ladies were very attentive and kept up with refills . Highly recommend this gem tucked away in Woonsocket. read more

On the way home from Providence, I passed through Woonsocket and decided to stop in at Empire Buffet for a late Friday night dinner since I was very hungry and the AYCE Dinner Buffet was only $11.99 plus tax. I arrived here around 9:30 PM and the place was not very busy. I was seated immediately in a worn out booth (taped seats) and helped myself to the food. The selection of food was very good including plenty of seafood options, typical Chinese dishes, American food, pizza, sushi, fruits, salads, and desserts including hard scoop Warwick Ice Cream. I enjoyed crab legs (not many left), steamed clams, stuffed shrimp, stuffed clams, mussels, salmon, dumplings, lo mein, egg foo young, spring rolls, crab rangoon, California rolls, seaweed, fried rice, chow fun noodles, macaroni & cheese, stuffed mushrooms, corn on the cob, cheese pizza, mixed vegetables/broccoli, onion rings, chicken wings, chicken teriyaki sticks, and coffee ice cream with strawberry sauce bananas. I was stuffed afterwards and the total check with tax and before tip was $12.95, a very good price for lots of tasty greasy food. During the course of my buffet dinner around 9:45 PM, I was the only customer left and the staff was doing mad cleaning including very noisy vacuuming of the carpet and shouting to each other in Chinese. read more

What a terrible experience. I had a question about the bill abd I was treated like a enemy of the establishment the manager was rude and yelling at me and the waitress was aweful she never came back to check on us yet she wanted that tip. I did not give her one. I will never go back there they made me feel so terrorized read more

I literally love this place, they always so efficient the place is so clean and the food is always so good. And on top of all that is pretty cheap. Me and my sister love coming here lmao read more

The food is okay. Bland but okay. Would have given more stars if not for the fact that I gave them 40 for a 36 dollar bill and they never brought back my change. I fully intended to tip them. But not anymore. You don't get a tip if you just assume you get to keep my change. Absolutely not. read more

Once in a while I stop here for lunchtime Chinese food. It never disappoints. I usually do take out by the pound. The staff is so nice! The place looks a little dated on the outside, but don't let that fool you. read more

Best chinese buffet in the area, probably within an hour drive in any direction. Far better than nearby Sky Buffet. Plenty of choices, especially proteins (they aren't all chicken). All 10 items I tried I liked, no bad ones I wanted to leave on the plate. read more

My fiance and I have been coming here since we started dating in 2014. The food is always delicious. It's definitely our comfort place. We've since moved away from Woonsocket so we don't make it up as often, but we always look forward to our next stop here read more

food was bad service was good strip was not devined it is a death wish to come here I hate it here

The food is amazing for a buffet, if you know which dishes to choose! I suggest the mini egg pies, white rice noodles, white fried rice, ground chicken covered shrimp, jalapeño chicken meatballs, honey chicken wings, black pepper shrimp, general tsao chicken, baked imitation crab with cheese, fried dough balls, and freshly cooked crab!! I come back often for these, which are served during dinner time. Crab on Fridays and weekends. Not sure if there's a schedule for which dishes they put out. They have a great selection of ice cream. Incredible price. Unbelievable discount on Mondays and Wednesdays. Sushi is not very good. The place occasionally smells a bit funky. Friendly staff. Ample parking spaces. Safe area of Woonsocket. read more

It is what it is. It's Chinese buffet. You won't hate the quality of the standard appetizer fare. The crab rangoons, the steak teriyaki, the chicken fingers all bwhile not the best you've had are all up to snuff and bingeable. I mean those alone are worth the price of admission. I'm pretty picky and snobby about food but this place offers insane value and you will never feel like you didn't get your money's worth read more

Chinese buffet in one of my favorite dinners and I have been to all of them in the region. We've been going to Empire Buffet for over 20 years because they are one of the BEST. The last time I went a few years ago, the food wasn't great - but last night it was back to being EXCELLENT. A fabulous choice of hot, fresh food and better than average service. I'm so glad Empire Buffet is back from the Covid shutdowns - and better than ever! read more

I haven't been here in a few years but I decided to go last night and it was amazing. The food was just as good as it was years ago and the service was amazing. We got seated in seconds and they had our drinks at our table before we even got back to it. This place is and always has been great I would recommend coming here if you want some really good Chinese food. read more

I love this place. It comfortable and you don't feel like you need to dress up. The food and really yummy. It's kinda jank in there but if your looking for comfort food it's great. You get to scoop your own Ice cream and it's soft and delicious. I love the decor it's so funny and the people are really nice. I love you empire buffet read more

Let me start by saying, I was way more impressed with this buffet than I was expecting. I went for lunch today and I can't complain. I was able to get in and out of there in no time, the food was all fresh and hot. The only thing was the food could of used some more seasoning, it was a little bland but for $8 I cant complain. The servers weren't the friendliest and I didn't really actually speak to a server almost the whole time besides for my drink and check which is fine since it's a buffet but I've had better service at others. I definitely will be back again. read more

I got food poisoning. Their shrimp tasted like feet. The jello is hard, how does that happen? The hot and sour had way too much tofu and mushrooms in it and it tasted like it sat out for a week. Don't go. You'll get sick. read more

Great place to pig out on a budget. Pretty of variety to choose from. My favorite is the chilled seafood salad. The place gets packed but I've never waited to be seated. Waitresses come to your table quick. My rating is based on service and quality of food in a buffet setting. read more

Well that was awful! Proof that Rhode Islanders don't get out enough (four stars? Have you never eaten GOOD food? This restaurant did about 25% Chinese and 75% of of American food (fries, nuggets, cheese sticks, pizza etc). Neither of which did they do well!!! I am NOT much of a desert person but I ate my fill to compensate for the lack of entrees that were edible! Even so everything on the dessert bar but the tapioca pudding and jello were definitely defrosted. I have never left and a restaurant without paying a bill but I honestly considered packing up the two kids to do so! I should have been tipped off of by my 6-year-old who refused to use a dirty plate from the get go! read more

I can't believe I'm giving a Chinese buffet five stars But the food was actually really good and very fresh. They did a great job of refreshing the buffet when things got low. The restaurant itself is somewhat run down and not much to look. It is no means exceptional Chinese food but definitely one of the best buffets I have been to read more

This place is incredible. Hands down. A Chinese buffet, Empire Buffet is huge. Lots of food, lots of variety. Good sushi, awesome General Tso's and incredible lo mien. I've been coming here for years and this place has never disappointed. Really cheap, too. Dinner (unlimited trips to buffet) and a soda will come out to less than ten dollars. The servers are always quick to seat you and always keeping an eye out on your drink. I can't stress how much food this place has. There is so much to choose from, it's ridiculous. Cheap, tasty, and convenient. If you come alone or with a group of people, you'll leave full. read more

Better than I expected. Seriously mind-blown. I'm a Taiwanese woman with incredibly preferential tastes when it comes to ethnic cuisine. I have tried many Chinese buffets in RI/MA and Empire Buffet is by far the most "authentic" tasting (a bit sad, but worth it). My husband and I went during lunch time on Wednesday (special $4.95). The food was hot and fresh. I tried their chicken dishes and they were delectable and tender. I loved their fried rice and lo mein. I also love how they have real ice cream buckets instead of soft-serve machines. My only complaint is the variety of unappealing desserts. I agree with most Yelp reviewers that you must go when the place is the most BUSY. The food will be guaranteed freshly made every time. Enjoy! read more

:) it was good. foods pretty basic, but overall good service, reasonably priced. love it.

Excellent buffet...lots of steam tables and choices. Good service, clean and cheery with bar service.

The Empire Buffet is pretty much what I expected for a Chinese buffet in Woonsocket. I would rate the food at about 2 1/2 stars. The pans were kind of empty for certain items, some things tasted like they had been under the heat lamps for quite a while, but were ok. The hot and sour soup was gross. It tasted like it sat out for two days heating and was burnt at the bottom. I would give it 4 stars for cleanliness. The floor was clean entering and everywhere I could see. The buffet area was wiped down and clean. And after a couple left, we watched the girl doing the tables completely wipe down the high chair the couple's baby used. She wiped every inch of it. The staff was friendly and courteous so I would say 3 stars there. And the price was good. They only serve beer and wine if you like alcohol with your meal. I had soda, so it didn't matter to me. read more

Food is good when you get there early and there is a lot of variety there is dessert too which I enojo y and it's not too over priced!

This is the best Chinese buffet I've ever been to, I'm not saying it's the best Chinese I have ever had. The price it can't be beat. The food is always warm, tasty, and full of variety. The wait staff is always kind. If you want a buffet this is the one I'd suggest trying at least once. read more

I have come here a number of times and know that I shouldn't expect incredible service or quality for the price paid, however today's service and quality was so low that I will not return. I arrived a bit early at 11:20am and entered to find all of the chaffing dishes empty, with the exception of the fried foods. I asked the girl who came to serve me how long until the chicken and broccoli would be up. She replied that it would be 10 minutes. I needed to go to CVS anyway so I said that I would return. 15-20 minutes later I returned and noticed that the chicken and broccoli was still not put out. When I was seated I was told it would be out shortly. They also took my drink order, iced tea. After two small plate trips to the buffet the chicken and broccoli was still not up and my drink was still not delivered. When my "iced" tea was finally delivered it had remnants of ice cubes and was room temperature. The chicken and broccoli was finally put out (thus the reason I'm not awarding one star). The food wasn't bad, as usual. The final straw was that the waitress out a coke as my beverage which was inaccurate. It's been a hoot! I'll miss the interesting personalities and the alway entertaining overheard conversation. Farewell. read more
