STAY AWAY. This outfit is super shady. As soon as payment was made over the phone when signing up for a policy, I received an email that was blocked by Gmail because it came through from an email spoofer. Not from a trusted alias. This made me suspicious. This initial email was supposed to contain an onboarding packet/explanation of coverage, but did not. I attempted to email the (likely fake) email address in the email and never got a response. After reading terrible reviews on the BBB and several other sources, everything in the reviews was lining right up. I had originally spoken with an alleged "Eric" who's caller ID actually showed as a different name. After taking payment, "Eric" was MIA and unable to be reached. Once the red flags were raised, I called to cancel. I was transferred to an extension that did not exist, so I called back. Again I was transferred to an invalid extension. I called a 3rd time and was told that "the department that takes cancellation is likely out to lunch and that is why they didn't pick up"....but, the extension was INVALID, so this was obviously a lie. I was told to call back in an hour. I did, then was told by Customer Service that management was going to reach out to me. Of course, nobody reached out. What I ended up doing was going to my bank and stopping payment and disputing based on being unable to make contact with Empire and cancel for refund, which they had stated was a no questions part of the deal for the first 30 days. The next day, for peace of mind, I called Empire to make sure they would cancel my policy. Immediately upon answering, I was greeted by a very rude and overly patronizing person on the other end of the line. The tone was extremely unprofessional and they did confirm that I had been cancelled already, but it was because I disputed. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE. If you do, and you are not proactive about taking care of yourself, you will end up getting screwed, just like the hundreds and hundreds of bad reviews everywhere say you will. read more

Liars, Liars, Liars!!!! requested a cancellation and refund hours after my transaction with them. I was ignored. To this day they have not honored their 30 day unconditional cancellation and refund policy and its been more than 3 months since my request. I filed a complaint against Empire Auto Protect for fraudulent and deceptive sales practices and for failing to meet their stated obligations, with my Banks credit card fraud Division and more importantly with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (A Government Agency). I won my case against Empire Auto Protect (with my bank)and my funds were returned to me by my bank.Overall it took me 3 months of frustration and aggravation to complete the process. I can't state strongly enough how unsavory representatives of this company are. If you are seriously thinking about doing business with them don't. They will lie to you and then lie about their lies. They will deceive and manipulate you to sign up with them. Their word and their guarantees are worth less then nothing. Forewarned is forearmed! I wish I would had investigated them properly before acting against my own best interests Do not make the same mistake I did. I promise you, you will regret it. read more

HORRIBLE people, HORRIBLE service! I purchased a 5 year warranty upfront. I never had to file a claim until 3 years into the warranty, but when I called they gave me the run around. First, they could not find my ID, my last name or VIN. The hung up on me! I called back and Richard was the same guy that answered, suddenly found my file. He said they changed software systems, but he found it and told me to have the service shop process the claim. I had a bumper to bumper warranty, which covered everything, 100%, no deductible. I paid for the best warranty because I had a Mercedes Benz and I knew if anything went wrong I was going to need coverage. Salesmen sold me the top coverage. Now, they not only had problems finding my file and giving me the run around, they also denied the simple claim with the repair shop! Note, this was not a major transmission or engine repair, this was only to replace the air pump for the massager front seats. Simple, not a big claim, yet they denied the repair. unbelievable to think there are people that work for crooked companies like this. There are so many good people paying for this insurance and Richard and the people that work at Empire Auto Protect are heartless crooks. RUN AWAY! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE CROOKS read more

All I can say is my experience with this company has been nothing but a nightmare. When you get ready to file a claim they pull out every trick in the book to not have to pay. Stay away from this company. It is not in your best interest. You will end up spending money monthly thinking you are protected and if something happens to your car you will end up paying out of pocket because they will find a reason why the repair is not covered even though it states in the policy it is. Fraudulent and deceptive people. They need to be closed down. Very shady. The companies they work with are just as fraudulent and shady as well. My dealer's choice... Magellan service corporation... Oh my God, I have been trying to cancel this for days. I signed up not knowing the full details of this company. They say they are a full warranty company but they are not. I can't get anyone on the phone to cancel my contract, they keep saying they will send out a email. Nothing. Now I have to cancel my debit card just to stop them from charging me for something I have been trying to cancel for days. It was also supposed to be $99 per month. just received something from Mepco wanting to charge me $133 per month.... What gives...??? DO NOT SIGN UP!!!!! For real.... Read this carefully, along with their other reviews. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!! After a long conversation with Christian Lucas and taking copious notes, I gave him a down payment and a credit card for monthly payments, with the promise that I had 30 days from that date to review the contract and cancel if I wanted to. Ten days later I received the contract and it was totally different than he told me. He told me $99 for the down payment and monthly payments (24 total), but the contract said $195 for the down payment and $108.54 monthly (25 total). He said my car repairs would be covered 100% "bumper to bumper" with a $100 deductible, except cosmetics, paint, seals, gaskets and tires. When I inquired later, I was told my EV battery would be covered. When I received the contract 10 days later, it said I would get a 50% reimbursement for repairs and there were 26 items listed as not covered, including my EV battery. The "manager" Richard I spoke to that day told me that, if I wasn't happy, I should cancel...so I did and told him to refund my down payment and cancel my credit card. I also sent a letter and email to the company headquarters (no phone number). Less than 30 days after signing up, they charged my credit card for a monthly payment, and I have never received a refund for my down payment. When I spoke with a "manager," he wouldn't give me his name and called me a "F___KING BITCH." (I was not rude!) He said they had received no notification that I had cancelled. I sent another letter to the company and no one has responded. Thirty days later they tried to charge my credit card again, but I had cancelled it. read more

This company appears to be like a scammer. They tell you one thing at the initiation processes and then later on you find out it wasn't that at all what they were claiming. At the beginning they kept calling me to sign me up and finally since I was looking for a good warranty company for my BMW 530I, I accept their offer. Then they made me pay $99.00 and I then called to several times to talk to the same salesperson who sold me the so-called warranty, he was nowhere to be found, despite the fact he had told I can call anytime to ask him any questions. Ultimately, after several tries, I was able to talk hold their switch board and talk to them and asked to cancel the policy but the flatly refused and hung on me. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY!!! Empire Auto Protects covered a previous vehicle I owned. The I was happy with the coverage and decided to get a quote on my new vehicle. The quote came back high, so I decided not to get coverage from them again. They took the banking information they had from my previous vehicle and started charging me for coverage without my permission. I contacted them and told them that this was inappropriate, and that I wanted my money back. They said no. I had to cancel my card and get a new one to keep them from pulling more money out of my account. I Filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau asking to have this resolved. Empire Auto Protects said they would close my account and refund my money. They never refunded my money. I filed another complaint with the BBB about them never refunding my money and Empire Auto Protects claimed once again they money was sent back to me when it wasn't. I strongly advise everyone to STAY AWAY from Empire Auto Protect. This company is an absolute fraud and does not honor their policies. I purchased a plan for peace of mind, but when my vehicle experienced a legitimate mechanical failure, they did everything they could to avoid paying the claim. Endless Excuses and Denial My car needed a costly repair. I followed their claims process, but the nightmare began as soon as the repair facility submitted the required documentation, including the itemized repair bill. On the phone, their representatives were not only unprofessional and had an extremely poor attitude, but they also constantly gave me excuse after excuse. They claimed they couldn't "hear" the details of the repair receipt or that the documentation wasn't formatted exactly how they wanted it--a clear tactic to stall and deny the claim. It's obvious they are intentionally making the process impossible to pressure customers into giving up. A Dishonest and Fraudulent Company I believe this company is engaging in fraudulent business practices. They take your money, but when it's time to honor the contract, they use every dirty trick to deny payment. I am out hundreds of dollars for the policy and now have to pay for the full mechanical repair myself. Do not waste your money or your time with Empire Auto Protect. They are not a protection company; they are a complete scam designed to collect premiums and never pay claims. You will be better off putting your money in a savings account for repairs than trusting these people. read more

I was called several times from Empire Auto Protect. Eventually I signed on with them late January early February. When courting and begging me to sign on daily. They were quite courteous. I stoned up for I was told was the Platinum plan. This is what I was told and quoted for my 2020 Cadillac Escalade. However, upon encountering an issue with my vehicle in March. I found out that I wasn't covered because they put me on a comprehensive plan. Which I never once discussed with know one. So, when O called I explained the issue with a SUPERVISOR named Shawn. Who sympathized with me and apologetic for them misleading. Assuring me that I'd receive a full refund since that's not what I signed up for. Nor was I ever spoken to about a limited plan without coverages for a vehicle with 80,000 miles. I never received the refund so I started calling daily for Shawn whom I spoken with on March -6, 2026! Well that's when the shenanigans began. From the rudeness threats and being told you're not a customer I'm not transferring you to Shawn. He's out then call back in 20 minutes. Those folks are frauds thugs and wanna be gangsters. One of there customer service reps told me he'd come to Miami and do something to me. I've never encountered such a horrible unprofessional company. They should be shut down!!!!!! read more

Telling the truth and not deceiving potential clients into buying policies... I asked for full 100% coverage and was told everything is covered except suspension, by the agent. I got the policy and my coverage was 50% and maximum coverage was $2500 per year...that was the "supreme enhanced" policy... When I confronted them about this, they lied and said I wanted the cheaper policy...then they claim there is a "titanium" policy. It turns out I didn't get the car, that I put on the policy, too many mechanical issues( wiring harness, brake lines, waterpump) And being deceived by the policy, I decided to cancel within 30 days.. Highly fraudulent. I signed up in February. Stated we have 30 days to get a full refund. I called multiple times and even texted a guy named Erik or Jay. He will lie about his name. Never received a refund until the 30th day which they charged me again under a different company billing name called WALCO. Only after I called AGAIN I finally got the initial refund. But guess what I never got refunded the second charge made a month later under WALCO. I then get charged AGAIN in April. When calling to speak with Erik he lied and said his name was Jay like a coward. Then tried making up a whole story as to why it wasn't cancelled. Then threatened me to not refund me because I left them a 1 star review. I have this call recorded on my phone. "You'll have to fight for your money I'm not helping you out." Childish business tactics. The best part is when I initially called back in February to cancel his exact words were "it's only $137 if you want to cancel go ahead and cancel we aren't concern about it." Apparently they are. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL and UNETHICAL! OK, there are companies that are Sh!tty and then there are companies that are complete Sh!t. Empire Auto Warranty is the latter. I purchased a policy on July 3rd 2025 and was charged $298.00. I was told I would receive a copy of the actual contract within 7 to 10 business days. I was also told if I did not like the policy I could request a full refund within the first 30 days. Side Note - Having the right to a full refund within the first 30 days isn't an Empire thing. It is the law no matter what warranty company you are dealing with. You are entitled to a FULL 100% Refund within the first 30 days. 20 Days later I received a copy of the contract and the coverage went from the Elite Plan to their Essentials Plan. The Elite being their highest level of coverage and their Essentials Plan being their lowest level of coverage. To add insult to injury the rate for the coverage when up as well. I was told that the Elite Plan would cover pretty much everything the original manufacturers warranty covered with the exception of standard maintenance items like brake pads, tires, ect. I was told that the Elite Plan was going to cost me $149.00 per month for 2 years and I would receive an additional 2 years of coverage for free. Pretty good deal right? However, when I received the plan 10 days later then promised I was given the Essentials Plan that pretty much only covers the Engine and the Transmission. That plan was going to cost me $177.09 per month for 2 years. Classic bait and switch. Upon receiving the contract I called into Empire auto protect and was told that the change to that plan was due to the company that actually under writes the warranty. I asked to speak with a manger and after a brief hold I was connected to Zack who was a complete jerk. Zack started to get loud with me and said things like I will cancel the policy right now etc. I didn't want to cancel before having another policy so I told him not to cancel the policy and I would call back. Throughout the next week received a handful of calls from Empire Auto Protect. 2 were to see if I wanted to purchase the policy and another call returning a call I never made to them. After an exhaustive search I found out the AAA actually sells Auto Warranties. Because my wife and I already have their road side assistance with them and have used used them in the past I felt totally comfortable signing up for their auto warranty. I received their highest level of coverage "Platinum" with no obligation for $167.63 per month. As mentioned I can cancel at anytime by giving 48 hours notice. I was also able to download and review a copy of their contract and was able to sign my self up for the coverage via their website. OK - So now that I had coverage I called Empire auto protect to cancel my policy with them. I call and requested too speak with a manager and was transferred to Eric. I explained to Eric what had happened and told him I was canceling the policy and I would expect a full refund to avoid any back and forth. I mentioned to Eric that by law they needed to refund 100% of my money or I would call American Express and claw the money back from them anyway. I then asked Eric to confirm the amount I would refunded and I was told that I would be refunded the full $298.00. Before I could thank Eric and wrap up the call Eric decided he wanted to become a telephone tough guy with me. Eric said "You don't have to threaten me and if you want to threaten me why don't you come to his office in Freehold off of Wyckoff Rd. He didn't give me the full address but OK. At this point I told Eric that he had my home address in Point Pleasant Beach NJ and anytime he wanted he was more then welcome to stop by and see how that would work out for him. I also mentioned he could simply call me from the Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk, The Boat Yard or any other place he would like in the beach and that I would be more then happy to meet up with him. The actual address is - 145 Wyckoff Rd Ste 105, Eatontown, NJ 07724. if anyone is interested. I don't write reviews I find them suggestive at best but I just need to let folks know what type of company Empire Auto Protect is. They are a joke. To allow their employees to speak to people like that is inconceivable. By simply mentioning I would expect a full refund and that they were obligated by law to do so and if they didn't I would contact American Express and they would make it right anyway Eric went to "If you want to threaten me." All I can say is. Eric you have a lot to learn when it comes to how you carry yourself and how you conduct when it comes to business. Empire Auto Protect - If that was my employee Eric would be looking for another job. Thank you for the bait a switch by the way. That is also against the law. read more
