First of all, I was told my repairs would be covered 100 percent. When I received my paperwork in the mail the last page said I was only covered for 70 percent of a repair bill. I never used my policy. I then sold my car and attempted to cancel my policy. Apparently everyone at the company has a different way of canceling a policy. It depends who you ask. The first time I called, a guy said, " Okay, you are cancelled". He didn't even verify my address or make of car or anything. I later found out the next month they (Empire) had taken out a payment for my policy. I called Empire and they told me a representative would be calling me back. I never got the callback. So I stopped payment through my bank. Then they started texting me threatening me that my policy would be canceled if I didn't make a payment because my payment did not go through. I called Empire again. The representative asked me if I had filled out a cancellation form. I told them, "No, no one told me to". She said with her 'know it all attitude', "Well the last person you talked to made a notation that they sent you a cancellation form". I told her with the same attitude. "Well, he did not send me the form and I am not going to fill one out. Just cancel my account." (hang up) Then, I received texts from the company on a daily basis for three days. Again, threatening to cancel my policy. I called back again. I spoke to another representative. I told him what was happening. He said I will take care of it right now for you. I have not heard anything from them for about a week. I hope this is over? read more

My experience with Empire Auto Protect has been extremely disappointing. After trading in my vehicle, I contacted Empire Auto Protect to cancel my extended warranty. I was told I would need to provide a copy of my bill of sale before they would process the cancellation. Because the trade-in documentation is embedded within my purchase contract and contains sensitive personal and financial information, I explained that I was not comfortable providing it and asked if there was an alternative form of verification. Instead of working with me to find a reasonable solution, I encountered customer service representatives and a manager who were rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. While I was simply asking questions about the company's cancellation policy, my calls were disconnected multiple times without resolution. Customers should be treated with respect, especially when asking legitimate questions about a contract they purchased. Requiring unnecessary documentation containing confidential information, combined with poor customer service, made this an extremely frustrating experience. I hope Empire Auto Protect reviews both its cancellation procedures and the professionalism of its customer service team. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. read more

The worst auto protect company, very rude staff especially claim manager Mr. Richard Cruz he kept on denying my claim that was covered under the purchased plan. my dealers service department provided all supporting documents and test results but Empire Auto Protect people did not buzz and kept making excuses. My experience with Empire Auto Protection has been absolutely unacceptable. I was hung up on multiple times while simply trying to get help. On one call, a rep got combative and aggressive instead of helping. When I asked for a supervisor, I was told to call back another day. That is not customer service. If you value being treated with basic professionalism, I would strongly caution against doing business with Empire Auto Protection. The moment you need help is exactly when they fail. read more

I cannot caution you enough to stay away from this company. I bought a policy then tried to cancel it a month later. When I called them and explained why I wanted to cancel an extremely rude customer service rep told me that my reason was not good enough. (I went with another company). He said if I wanted to cancel I had to wait 6 months or pay $195 cancellation fee. I paid it just to get away from them. I would not recommend this company at all. read more

I canceled this policy after only a week or two, so I clearly see on my app.with Empire it says Canceled on it! if that's not enough these crooks took $99.00 off my debit card without notice I told them about it and this was last Monday the 24th of August , and the man said I should have my money back in 24 hours I'm still waiting and it's the 27th ! So I also get a welcoming letter from company called Mepco! saying thanking me for my contract and they will be taking the money on my debit for recurring payments I never signed up for them and the only company that gave them all my info was Empire ! So at all costs stay far away from these crooks at Empire Auto protect! I'm going to the BBB and put a complaint with them also!! read more

Run from this place!!! I believe these are a couple guys working out of a house or a basement somewhere, They are not a legit company. I have been paying them for almost 2 years monthly for my vehicle. I took my car in for a legitimate reason and they asked for a teardown of the motor at my expense of $6000 before they would pay for anything. The car itself is not worth that much so I am having to buy a new car and I am out the past two years of almost $200 a month payments that I made to them. Stay away from this place I believe it is a total scam company and not a legitimate business, with bad business practices. They also hang up the phone on you when you're asking them something they don't want to hear as I noticed in a lot of these reviews when I called them yesterday to cancel my warranty. The guy hung up on me. I called back and he said oh we got disconnected then he told me the cancellation department's not open right now such a scam. This scam storefront supposedly in Delaware, and the guys working for it definitely have some karma coming their way.. BEWARE!!!! Of this place! STAY AWAY!!!!!! read more

First of all I was told that there was a$100.00 deductible. When I called about something I was told no, it's a 30/70 split. I was also told that I would pay one year and get a year free It's pay 2 years and get 1 year free. I sent an email asking to cancel and no response. I tried to call Thursday and Friday but they were closed and they close early on Fridays. I spoke with someone in sales and they said that if I call Monday morning they would refund my payment that came out on Saturday. They are closed over the weekend so there was no way to stop it. When I called on Monday the extremely rude person I spoke with told me there would be no refund of my Saturday auto pay. I asked to speak with a supervisor and and he just kept repeating that there would be no refund. He said that I didn't understand what he was saying and then told me he was a supervisor. Im amazed at how rude he was. I guess that he didn't care because I was canceling. I told him that I was going to report him to the better busses bureau and he said good. read more

What a horrible experience with their AI sales bot who promised several things that weren't done. It promised to charge my account 4 days later for the billing cycle but then charged me immediately. It didn't send info as promised. It didn't show the right make and model of the car nor the right level of protection promised. When I finally received the info it was much less than was promised and cost more. When I called to cancel at first I was hung up after the person wanted to save the sale, then 3 more times I was passed to people trying to save the sale until I finally reached a guy named Eric who claimed to be a General Manager. He also fought with me for more info and finally claimed it was cancelled but I haven't seen anything in writing. Just the cancellation took 30 minutes. I can see why this company is not BBB accredited. read more

Do yourself a favor and stay clear from this company! What a rip-off! The salesman clearly told me that the Extended Warranty Policy would cover 50% of the cost, and that if the vehicle required engine or transmission repair, that it would cover 100% of the cost, which is untrue!!! The most it will pay out is $500.00 per occurence with a maximum of $2,000.00 per calendar year. I feel like a complete idiot for not doing my due of diligence, which is why I am writing this review. I was paying $99.96 per month for this policy and I'm just so mad that I fell for this scam!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

For every consumer who has been scammed by Empire Auto Protect, please contact the New York State Department of Financial Services and file a complaint. They are regulated under NYS Insurance Laws pursuant to Article 79. Do not do business with Empire Auto Protect before reviewing the complaints on the Better Business Bureau's website, Trusted Pilot, Consumer Affairs, and several other consumer sites. I purchased a warranty in October of 2024 for $2,900.00. I was setup on automatic bill pay. In June of 2026, I lost my debit card and my payment declined. Empire Auto contacted me about the declined payment and I advised them of the situation. On July 1, 2026 I provided my routing and account number to Empire Auto to process the missing payment. Empire did NOT process my payment and did NOT tell me I couldn't pay by ACH. Instead, they waited until July 6, 2026 to tell me again my payment didn't go through. I called with my new debit card and made the payment. A few days later, my car broke down and I tried using my warranty. Empire Auto told me I did not have coverage as my policy just started 4 days ago. I had paid $2,399.00 since October of 2024 and knew that was a lie. I downloaded their mobile app, created an account, and found that Empire Auto cancelled my previous contract that I had paid $2,399.00 towards and issued a new policy for $2,900.00 with no credit of the $2,399.00 that I had already paid. Empire Auto Protect also materially misrepresented the mileage on the new contract stating the vehicle only had 102,000 miles when it in fact had 120,000k. They also changed the terms on the policy to 36 months or 30,000 miles (also undercutting actual mileage by 18,000). So in actuality, their contract would have only covered 12,000 miles. These deceptive business practices must be reported to the proper regulators. This is unjust enrichment and fraud. Do not do business with Empire Auto Protect. Check the reviews and complaints on the Better Business Bureau website. Contact the NYS Department of Financial Services and file violations against them. read more

Run from this place !!! I had a really disappointing experience with Empire Auto Protect. I paid for coverage for about a year, expecting to use it once my manufacturer warranty expired. When I called to ask about activating/using my coverage at that point, the representative instead told me my policy would be canceled and that I wouldn't be refunded for the time I had already paid. There was no clear explanation upfront that the coverage wouldn't work the way I intended, and no effort to resolve the situation fairly. I feel like I paid for something I never actually got to use. BE CAREFUL!!! This is a bait and switch company. 13 months into a 48 month contract this company just arbitrarily switched me to a much lower coverage and milage protection amount saying original protection plan was not available and there was nothing they could do about it. I spoke to my original sale specialist and he told me no problem, they would switch me back to the original. I also spoke to the general manager Eric and he told me no problem he would make sure it was switched. I found out they both flat out lied to me. I would not recommend Empire Auto Protect based on my experience. I purchased two vehicle service contracts in Sept2025 and paid $6,400 upfront in good faith Oct2025, including paying both policies off early. After only a few months of use (March 2026), I requested cancellation and a prorated refund as outlined in the agreement. Instead, I was quoted approximately $399 with no clear explanation or written breakdown. When I requested documentation showing how my payments were applied and how the refund was calculated, I received vague responses and was directed to a third-party payment processor rather than being provided answers. As a matter of fact the response provided was, "there is no refund as the agreements were FINANCED". But the $6400 was paid in advance. What was being financed? At no point was I given a clear payment ledger or a proper prorated calculation. The lack of transparency and consistent communication has been extremely frustrating. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others against paying large amounts upfront. If you cancel early, you will not receive a refund that reflects the unused portion of your agreement. read more

I've used them 3 times, and the auto shop said never change them; they are easy to deal with.

I don't know who uses Yelp! But maybe this will help someone. When I contacted the company, I was told that the warranty would fully cover the power train and other major components at 100%. However, when received the policy, it clearly states 40% up to $2,500. In addition, I was told there was a one-hundred percent refund if canceled within thirty days. I called to clarify and was told that it the forty percent was for other maintenance, contrary to the verbiage. I called another warranty company and received the proper coverage. Thus, I attempted to cancel the alleged warranty from Empire Auto Protect and was told that the cancelation department opened at 10 CST. At 10 CST, I again called and was told the Cancelation Department queue was full and I would get a callback. I waited three hours and called back when the no call was made to me. When I called, the customer representative told me that I could not cancel because I was dissatisfied with the product that was not what I was sold (bait-and-awitch). He stated that was not a good enough reason. When I asked him if customer satisfaction was not a good reason, then what was? He stated he didn't like my attitude and hung up. I called my financial institution to stop all future payments and dispute the last payment that was made. I then again called Empire to attempt canceling the warranty. The customer service representative asked me why and I told him it was already covered under another policy. He asked who and I replied Endurance. He lied and told me they were the same company. He stated that he would recommend that I should keep my Empire policy and he would cancel the more expensive Endurance policy. He also informed me that I had home coverage and that was due today. However, I never agreed to any such coverage. After getting nowhere with that rep, I received notice from my bank that Empire attempted a charge of $104.04, but it was blocked by the stop payment order. Very deceptive sales and customer service. They have an offer that if you pay for two years you get two more years free. I gave him the odometer reading and had him read it back to me. When I get the plan information booklet things didn't look right. First the cards had no company name on them. Very odd. I read the fine print and the plan a said 48 months, not 60. On top of that they recorded the odometer at more than 9,000 over. I told them I only put 4-5k @yr on this vehicle. Any claims would likely be denied because of mileage discrepancy. I called customer service. The CSR said he could see that my plan should be 60 months and asked for a photo of the odometer. Said it would be corrected and I would get a confirmation call and new contract asap. Ten days went by and no word back. I tried calling and lines were busy so I requested a call back. No callback! Days went by and I kept calling until I got somebody. CSR said they were denying the 60 months and that was my only option. I said cancel plan immediately and issue a refund. He said that he would do that. I saw a refund in my credit card and was pleased. Then after the plan was cancelled, they billed me for another month!
