I enjoy the food I have had from the restaurant so far, however, the chicken fried rice... It was not good. Is it not made fresh? It tasted like it was precooked and sitting in a warmer for a long time. The pieces of chicken were hard. It was $20 for WAY overcooked chicken. It didn't taste fresh. It was not enjoyable at all. Yea, they don't want to deliver you food. I offered $40 on a $19 bill, and they refused service. I'm not out-of-area... they simply refused. I called back to make sure and yea, they refused, and then tried to make me feel bad, with me on speakerphone whilst their crew was jabbing in the background. They launched ad hominem attacks while I was on pricing. Yes I was heavily & aggressively arguing pricing (a pricing discrepancy of one single dollar to meet delivery threshold, mind you...), but it did not deserve ad hominem in return from the staff: Nothing in my demeanor warranted such brazen disregard for shared Humanity from these people. I gladly would've paid the $40, cash. I did not personally attack as they did. Yes: this actually happened-- and they made a back-of-the-house show of it on speaker. All of this as consequence of their pricing scheme being $1 short of their delivery threshold which they themselves came up with, and which I had been willing to pay well beyond at the 200% price-point at end of day (e.g. $40 on $19)... Husband and I went for dinner last night , I ordered the teriyaki chicken and prawns with chicken chow mien ., the chicken was tough and rubbery with a leathery outside , I could not chew it at all ! the prawns were more like small shrimp in a thick greasy pancake like batter ! chow mien was ok but a little dry , no sauce . I was so disappointed . Our waiter was very nice and the restaurant was clean although the booth we sat in felt like we needed a booster seat ! My husband was also not happy with his food and said his general chicken was not spicy enough although he did eat most of his vegetables . Not so much because of the food, which was mediocre (to be fair, I ordered gluten free but the noodles weren't that good until I got home and put GF soy sauce on them. Called and asked about the Sunday steak special. They told me the price and that it ends at 7. They failed to mention it had to be eaten in the bar. Drove from Shelton with my daughter, just to be told I couldn't order it from the restaurant side. So disappointed in this establishment. The manager was very rude about it as well. On December 29, 2022 we ordered 2 B dinners and hot and sour soup for delivery. Unfortunately, the food was horrible. The almond chicken was cold, greasy and inedible. The shrimp was burnt, the sweet and sour pork was burnt and hard as a rock. The hot and sour soup had a weird sweet aftertaste. We have eaten there many times and have had delivery many times but the food has gone downhill. I did email them about the food before posting a negative review but never received a reply. On Tuesday, we ordered "pick up" at Emperor's Palace Lacey. It cost us over $52.00 for 2 combination meals. When we got home one of our orders, they did not add gravy to our almond chicken. It tasted really dry and the breading tasted old. I couldn't eat it. The BBQ pork did not contain the "fixings" (sesame seed, ketchup and mustard). I emailed the restaurant as well as called and have not received any return call or email. Very expensive lesson in where not to eat. I think the food is good for what it is, American Chinese food. If you are someone with a gluten allergy, know that the chicken is breaded for a majority of the chicken dishes. I'm assuming that rather than making fresh egg flour soup, they must have mixed day old with some old hot and sour soup. Pretty lazy considering it was a lunch time order. Did not receive rice as was supposed to come with the order. Portions have gotten smaller. Box immediately leaked all over my table and onto the floor after taking it out of the bag. You see the 2.5/5 star rating this place has out of 117, and now 118 reviews. There's a basic reason for the low rating. This place is garbage. I went once to this location for takeout, and a couple times to the West Olympia location. Once for take-out Lo Mein, and the second time to order it again, spontaneously, and I made the huge mistake of waiting in the bar/lounge area, and had a couple of Bombay Sapphire gin and tonics. The Martin Way location food was some of the worst Americanized, cheap faux-Chinese slop I've ever had in 54 years of existence. These are the kind of places that great food lovers, and local restaurant supporters hoped would not survive the pandemic. We don't need bad restaurants. The West Olympia location has been there, apparently for decades, and the bar was home to the usual cheap fake Chinese restaurant, regular alcoholics. This is "Cheers" where everyone knows each others' names, because they come there probably every night to drink cheap, atrociously made drinks, by people who are not real bartenders. They are the equivalent of one who pours beers and cheap glasses of wine, and can barely make the simplest drinks, like a screwdriver, which they would probably screw that up. I had to specify that I wanted Bombay sapphire, and Schweppes glass-bottled tonic water (the best they had) for the drink, and they still screwed it up with the ratios. This is the seedy side of Olympia. Avoid these two locations at all costs. You won't find any authentic Chinese food here. You will have to go to Chinatown in Seattle, but who wants to go to Seattle anymore? You would be better off getting frozen "Chinese" food at Safeway instead. For real Cocktails, You have a handful of places only in Olympia, and now Dillinger's closed, so even less. Pathetic excuse for a restaurant and "bar." read more

I have a hard time finding a decent Chinese food place. I'm most likely always disappointed. This place wasn't any different.... The food wasn't spectacular. The chow mein has a funky smell to it. I've never been fond of traditional chow mein as it lacks flavor. However, their chow mein wasn't eaten due to the foul smell. The fried rice had no flavor either! The sweet and sour chicken and almond chicken are pretty standard for Chinese food, they were not the best, but they also weren't the worst. The pad Thai, medium spice, lacked flavor. All I could taste was spice (5-spice). I couldn't taste the chicken, or peanuts. The bean sprouts were also missing. read more
