There's no better feeling than discovering a spot that takes over as your favorite ice cream I'm not sure if I'm right but this reminds me of the ice cream I would get at local farms growing up. If you've ever had that you'll know what I mean. The rich, super cream and real milk fat taste Everything was PACKED with inclusions. Flavors we got in the cone. Pumpkin pecan (we both agreed that was tied for favorite out of everything we sampled) had a creamy pumpkin, subtle butter pecan taste with tons of pecans inside. The chocolate birthday cake was rich and BIG chunks of yellow birthday cake. Cookie dough was unreal because amazing vanilla base but tons of chocolate flakes and big dough pieces. The "Twister" was a Nutty Buddy. Chocolate base with peanut sauce, crushed peanuts, and topped with crushed peanut butter wafer. Nothing over blended to where it's just dusting of everything. You got a bite of everything throughout The taco.... Holy shit. Now. They only do those on Thursdays. That is when you need to go. We got the strawberry shortcake ice cream (limited flavor you need to get that was tied for first) topped with their homemade whipped cream The location, the atmosphere, the people working, the options. I'm very surprised that this place only has 21 reviews! It's very popular in this region. I've only been here a few times, but the ice cream is simply delicious! Today, I gave the peanut butter Oreo a try by ordering a full pint. First off, I noticed how awesome the prices are! For an entire pint of homemade ice cream, you only pay $4.50. That's competitive with the brands in the grocery store, which are mass produced. These pints are very high quality, though. The peanut butter has a very natural taste, and it's perfectly balanced in sweetness and nuttiness. There are thick chunks of Oreos in here, too! Love it. Nice variety of rotating flavors (I'm looking forward to trying the pineapple sorbet). *My only caveat would be that the Cappucino Crunch might not be made in house. I have also tried the Nutella flavor. This is delicious as well. It's very creamy, and the ice cream base has a lovely chocolate and hazelnut flavor. There are little chunks of Nutella inside of the ice cream to add even more delicious flavor! The birthday cake flavor has real chunks of birthday cake (yellow cake)! I will definitely return to Emmerlings. It is now one of, if not my #1, favorite ice cram place. Competitive prices, great variety of treats, and delicious flavors. read more

Ohhhh wow. This ice cream was so, so good. It's all homemade and it definitely tastes like it is. Currently only the drive up window is available but we ordered online and the pickup was seamless. I'd suggest doing this, as I've heard the line can get a bit crazy. The online menu worked well and was easy to navigate and customize your options. Everyone loved what they got. I ordered a scoop of the hard ice cream (peanut butter) and that was plenty but I'd love to try the soft serve too. So many choices. The homemade whipped cream was pink which was unexpected but it tastes amazing and the bright color made me feel like a kid again. Of course. Order a full pint of pure sprinkles to save for later? Coming right up! Root beet float with freshly brewed I.C. Light and two scoops of rocky road? Sign me up! I've been coming here for years and have yet to see the tortilla soup get the recognition it deserves. Every time I come I get the same thing: A cookie dough twister, a sprite float, and a LARGE bowl of tortilla soup. The sprite float is one of the most unique desserts I've ordered, but it pairs perfectly with the cookie dough twister and the freshly made tortilla soup. I guess the soup is a seasonal thing which is why they don't advertise it, but I always ask just to be sure. This is not life-changing ice cream, but the cup I had was very good; this is solid ice cream. I am an avid menu reader and normally take a lonnnnnng time deciding, but at Emmerling, I was quick. As soon as I saw that on their homemade ice cream list that they had peanut butter ice cream with oreos mixed in, I was sold. I ordered 1 scoop in a cup (I like me some spooning rather than cone licking...and I don't love cones anyway) for $2.25 including the tax. While I enjoyed my cream as the only customer at 11am on a Sunday, I read the rest of the menu. For those who want to know: about half the flavors are Hersheys and half are homemade. Many have peanutbuttery goodness. They also have slushies, soft serve, different flavored dips for your soft serve, off-brand blizzards, milkshakes, sundaes, banana splits, a kids menu, and hot food with basic concession-stand items like hamburgers and hot dogs. They advertise $1 hot dogs on Tuesday evenings. They also offer ice cream, popsicle, and ice cream sandwich catering. There isn't anywhere else to stop like this on this stretch of 910. I can't believe it took me so long through all of my visits up this way to try it out! I have to say I went pretty simple- a vanilla and chocolate twist. However, it was the perfect consistency and flavor for this delicious combination. A small gets you a good amount, at just over 2 dollars- I was pretty excited about this! I did also try my mom's peanut butter/ chocolate milkshake made with their chocolate soft serve. That, too, was just perfect. I didn't try any other food, but it's nice that they have lunch specials (hamburgers and hot dogs) if you're needing more than just ice cream! I wanted so much to five-star this place, but unfortunately a couple of things didn't go that well. It's a nice family-run establishment and they do a good job with service. We arrived at 9 p.m. to get ice cream before they closed at 10; it seems that normally they offer ice water to customers who stay and eat at their tables after they order their ice cream. Unfortunately the cooler was out of water an hour before closing, and the owner just didn't want to refill it even though I asked about it (and even brought the cooler to the service window). The cappuccino ice cream made by Hershey's that they serve there isn't very good, and unfortunately it doesn't taste anything like any form of coffee. The owner was very friendly and allowed me to replace the ice cream that I didn't like with a different flavor. I thought it was definitely an indicator of very good customer service. read more
