I called 5 of them and waited for responses. A manager at Golden Group was the first to respond. I made an appointment with him on the following Saturday and by then 3 others had responded and met me on that day. Long story short: I chose Golden Group and am still pleased I did. They finished the job in 2 days with a large, industrious crew who were incredibly hardworking and did a wonderful job cleaning up. They found the leakage problem under the old shingles on rotting planks of wood which they replaced before adding new shingles. It looks so much better and I would use Golden Group again!

He was on time, professional and friendly. He answered any questions I had and went above and beyond to note areas where there was rotten wood to replace. We were going to replace all the windows anyway, but I'd be really upset if we had to buy new windows because of them. Speaks to their lack of care/professionalism, and communicating with them was difficult at best. They didn't scrape some of the vertical trim at all, just painted over existing peeling finish. Lasted maybe 5 years and needed to be redone. Didn't properly replace wood trim with Aztek, or similar, even though that's what I paid for. I recently had to redo all of it since water was trapped and rotted the wood behind it (which, again, I paid to have replaced). I should have watched them closely when they were here. I'm not sure I even got a second coat either and if I did it was sprayed on (saw them using a sprayer at some point NOT hand painting). Now I have many areas where the clapboards/trim/sheathing are damaged due to years of insufficient protection. I paid for caulking to be applied where clapboards meet the vertical trim. This didn't happen at all, and cost us quite a bit in rotted sheathing and cedar. Around the chimney the work was really poor. Really a shame since the price was good and the owner seemed competant and the company had signs everywhere at the time. All of the vertical trim peeled about 5 years later, exposing raw wood, it clearly had very little adhesion and also had a latex quality about it, not stain. So I think they stained right over the paint. This paint job caused me a great deal these years later. Won't be using them again.

The team also fixed a leak I'd had in the garage for years, and also put on an excellent ridge vent and took care of some rot (replaced boards) on my soffits & trim. Our house has gutter guards - not installed by Heritage. When, in winter, i saw a problem with my gutters clogged/not draining, Kevin came over with his ladder, went up, removed the gutter guard, and cleaned out the down spout front and back of my house - for free... I had been calling around for gutter cleaning estimates (tough during winter) and one vendor pretty much said "you have to replace everything" without even seeing the job. (probably $1000 at least)... Then I called Kevin... Heritage has so many 5 star ratings for a reason.. and I'm adding mine.. Thanks for your professionalism and attention to detail. This is really a 4.5-star review but since I gave 4 stars for the previous job I think it makes…read moresense to round up to 5 this time. I hired Franca this fall to paint the exterior of my house, and remove a significant amount of rotted trim and replace it with PVC. I was very pleasantly surprised by how quickly they were able to get me on their schedule, and they wrapped up the whole project in a little over a week. They were conscientious about removing rotted trim (including from areas I couldn't see well from the ground and so didn't point out to them), the house looks great, and the price was very competitive. Steve, who set up the contract, was very responsive throughout; the crew were professional, careful about cleanup, and showed up on time. The only flaws were (1) initially they replaced some of the trim with softwood instead of PVC, but when I noticed it and asked them to fix it, and contacted Steve to confirm, they did fix it (and didn't charge me for the fix), (2) they were a bit aggressive about chopping limbs off some of my small trees to get the ladders into place - that said, this may have been unavoidable (the yard is small and quite densely planted).

After paying our deposit April 23, we heard nothing until June 20 despite our outreach. The project began July 9, followed by scheduling problems, incorrect footings that had to be redone, and delays. We were told materials were ordered, then given vague backorder explanations. I requested order/vendor confirmation 17 times and received none. Calls and promised callbacks went unanswered. The project manager later said he didn't respond because he "didn't have any answers." We encountered incorrect materials, improper screws, miscut boards, pen markings, and wrong balusters that we had to catch ourselves. Crews failed to show with no communication. The lack of accountability from the project manager, office, and leadership was staggering. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.
