What I left with was a nightmare--my hair chopped drastically short, front above my jawline, sides straight, and nothing like the photos. When I pointed this out, she casually said it would "look like the pictures in 8 weeks." I was shocked and humiliated. During the haircut, she even told me twice not to cross my legs--something I've never experienced at any salon. I asked to switch stylists, and was told I'd have to pay extra, even though the issue was not my fault. Ruby then claimed that because I agreed to a graduation in the back--which she suggested--she had to ignore my other requests. I cried in my car on the way home, devastated. $160+tax for a ruined haircut and a traumatizing experience. I can only hope no one else has to go through this. Wow! Couldn't be more impressed with this lovely doll. I've tried out the best stylists looking for someone that could work with my curls, but I had come to the conclusion my hair was just too unmanageable for this city. I had a friend that recommended me to Emily and I gave her a shot. I was SO impressed that I couldn't stop talking about it. And not only is it always spectacular when I leave, but it consistently grows in wonderfully weeks later. She's great at knowing exactly what cut works for each individual's face/style/personality. I've been hooked on her for the better part of a year now and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. She's always a joy to spend time with, consistently responsible with appointments, and an incredibly hard worker. I recently found out about her Aveda Institute credentials and I'm not the least bit surprised - she's a total virtuoso with her tools. If you care enough about your hair to check out reviews on stylists, you owe it to yourself to visit with her. read more

I had been trying to grow my hair out for a couple of years before I found Emily, but I would go into some of the other top salons in Austin for a trim and the stylists would just botch my hair off. They never listened to what I wanted and just did whatever they felt like doing that day. I finally found Emily through a friend and I have never been happier. My hair is long and healthy now and I get compliments on it all the time from people saying how much better it looks. I've also gone to her several times for a 'Royal Jelly' deep moisturizing treatment and I think that has made a huge difference in my hair. No stylist cares as much as Emily about making each client look their best. She is so great at listening to what you want and then using her expertise to make it look even better than you imagined. If you are looking for a stylist, you really owe it to yourself to give her a try. read more

I've never been loyal to a particular hair person because before Emily I've never really been 100% happy whenever I left the salon. Emily was recommended to me by a friend and now I don't know what I would do if he ever left Austin. She gave me the best blonde color with so many textures that even my bangs looked better (if that's possible) and just recently she made me a dark brown brunette and both times I've left so excited about my new hair. She is phenomenal with color. She asks me for my preferences throughout the entire process to make sure I'm getting exactly what I want. She's the best. read more

I started going to Emily a few months ago and left the style completely up to her. I figured she should know what kind of cut would look best on me... it's kind of her job. Well she's the first stylist that has really matched my hair style to my attitude while giving me the flexibility I need for whatever situation. I like to look clean cut for my office job, rock n roll when i gig with my band, and just fun messy in between and the cut she gives me (along with badass styling tips) works no matter where I'm going and always feels like me. 5 stars no question. read more
