This is a great neighborhood bar with really good bartenders and great food. There are tv's everywhere. There is also a jukebox. The burger is really large but delicious and the menu is simply and yummy. There are different night specials, like one night; 1 large pizza w a pitcher of beer for about $7 bucks. Love this place for the Wings, Beer and NY Strips! Owner needs to hire a wait staff though. Place is too busy for the bartender to handle the bar and tables. Wait is too long, but the staff do the best they can. Love the staff they have, just need more of them! The more staff they'd have the more money they'd make. If we didn't have to wait 30 minutes between drinks we'd probably have at least 4 more each during the course of our stay. read more

Hidden gem!! Does not have the greatest curb appeal, but once you walk in, you quickly forget about that. Staff is very friendly and extremely patient. Food came out fast and was delicious. Great place to come watch your favorite sports games with friends. Came here with friends during football season. Will be returning again this season. The only issue is parking, but there is street parking available. read more

Emerald Corner just celebrated their one year anniversary in September and is doing a great job in my mind. They're right near the Delawanna train station and walking distance from the La Quinta, Cambridge Heights and other townhome communities. The owner, Brian, is the nicest guy. The kitchen pumps out huge burgers, spicy wings (other flavors if you prefer) and serves up plenty of large beers. Nothing on the menu is over $10 and some items even come with a beverage. They allow private parties and are really flexible too.You can't go wrong with this place if you want a friendly atmosphere and yummy large portions of bar food. read more

I have been there twice in the past month and both times we have not been disappointed. They have a strip steak special for 2 every day for $21.95 and after a certain time $26.95 I believe. Steak was perfect , thick and huge. Comes with a side of mash, fries or onion rings. Homemade coleslaw and a pitcher of beer! We ordered two appetizers, dinner and extra pitcher of beer and was under $45 before the top! Ugh works for me and we left feeling very full and happy. My boyfriend is picky when it comes to steaks and said way better than Franklin Steakhouse ! Place is clean, small and wait staff friendly. Tues they have $1 bottle beers. I am so glad I found this tiny gem! Every single time I walk through the door, I'm treated like family and the bartenders always have big beautiful smiles on their faces. Especially my favorite bartender, Jillianne. She is humble and such a sweetheart. The bar is usually packed when she is working especially during football. I can't get over the impeccable customer service that she dishes out. If you want to be treated by family just walk into Emeralds on any night or day that she works. Having a bad day? Jill always listens to her patrons issues and ends up putting a smile on the faces of her loyal following. I usually call ahead to make sure she's there. The menu is great as well and their drink specials can't get anymore reasonable. 5 stars for Emeralds ALL because of Jill!! read more

Local bar with a lot of regulars, had that Cheers feeling to it. All the bartenders are amazing and they always have drinks specials or food specials. I never thought I would find good food at a local bar but this food is amazing, even better than most chain restaurants. Emeralds closes at 3 everyday so it's the perfect spot for an after work drink. read more

Nice little dive bar. The seating area around the bar seems tightly packed, but there are a good amount of tables, so I imagine it would be good for groups. I sat at the bar with a friend, lots of chairs, and more importantly, lots of bar top space to grab some food. The menu was typical of most pubs, but their most popular item is probably the wings. There are 15 sauces available, but the bartender (Jill?) was very helpful in narrowing down what I was in the mood for. I went with Sweet Thai Chili, or something like that, very tasty on the wings, which were cooked perfectly, moist inside with a crisp outside. Very delicious! Prices were really good; 5 drafts, 3 vodka drinks, and wings $45, can't beat that for a fun night. I'll be coming back here again! read more

Emerald Corner is simply the best local type of bar that I have ever been to. It never fails to deliver great drink prices and the most delicious food. Service is always amazing and the crowd of regulars very friendly and fun to watch sporting events with. Their daily food specials are worthy of a visit from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! I've been going to Emeralds for a few years since my time at Montclair State. Although it does get busy around dinner time and during sporting events (as does any bar) you can always tell the staff is working their hardest. Yes I do think they could use a dedicated waitress at times but they will do you well as long as you're courteous. It is a bar full of regulars but they are always welcoming. I would definitely suggest the wings, burgers are great, I've heard the steaks are good and pretty much everything on the menu is under 10$. It gets a little packed in there at times so be prepared if you're going during peak hours. read more

If you go don't get anything off the tap. It's literally just beer flavored water. I guess you get what you pay for. Other than that the food isn't bad, typical bar food. I have been going to emeralds corner for the pass three years. I always enjoyed that it was a hidden gem in the Bergen/Passaic county area. The food is great (especially the wings) and they have decent specials. But as of late this dive bar has been going down hill. With new owners/management the prices have went up significantly and they got rid of a lot of awesome deals such as "beat the clock". A recent incident has put the final nail in the coffin for me. I went with a few friends to get a quick drink before heading home after a night out in montclair and the bartender, Chris, refused to serve us because he thought my friend was "too drunk" which she was not. She was standing by the bar waiting for me while I was saying hello to some people I knew. After asking why he rudely told us "first it is my prerogative if I want to serve you and second I don't want to." Not only did he do this to my set of friends but to serval other patrons at the bar. He was obviously lazy but not lazy enough to serve his friends at the end of the bar. I would have understood if we arrived close to closing time but we did not - we got there at least an hour prior to closing and with enough time to have one drink. It pains that my favorite bar to recommend to people is now one that i wouldn't wish my worst enemies to walk into. read more

Small place. Very Divey. Great prices on food and drinks. Good wings. They don't list any flavors you have to create your own flavor and they will try to make it (ie. hot garic would be hot sauce and minced garlic.) Go on a monday grab a pitcher of Rolling Rock and some wings for 25 cents. Be warned that this place get packed out during football season and you will have an impossible time trying to find seating. Service is run by the bartender so it can be slow at times but, it's one of those super chill places you just don't care. read more

Every night there are different drink specials the food is great!! My favorites are NY Strip, Prime Rib, buffalo wings and fried mushrooms. We tried to go to the Shannon Rose for dinner, but that place was PACKED and noisy as hell...ended up at the Emerald Corner & absolutely LOVED IT! Small place, a lotta locals, a lotta TV's showing sports, & the best drink & dinner specials I have ever seen!!! Went here for the steak and pitcher of beer special (which is awesome) and have been back many more times! Just a very comfortable friendly bar and they pour a very generous cocktail. Ok, so I have came here three times before and what would you know? Three times a charm aye? Yeah... no. Before my last visit there I had nothing bad at all to say about this place but there was one specific bartender that gave me every reason not to go back! My friends and I were sitting at the front bar (CLEARLY NOT GOING ANYWHERE). One friend orders the first round of drinks and left his wallet on the table. Let's not mention this bartender from the start didn't greet us with a smile, & just asked for ID ( I could already sense the age discrimination). After finishing my FIRST drink I politely called over the bartender asked him his selection of beers and ordered my choice with a "please" and "thank you." I asked how much it is was, gave him the money I owed graciously. HERE'S WHERE IT GETS GOOD: Immediately after giving my change I placed the money on the bar and that's when I was attacked by this rude (excuse my french) A**HOLE stating AND I QUOTE "If you don't tip me, you will no longer be served."............ WHAT THE F? This was my first drink I was paying for and that's coming out of your mouth?! I'm sure he'll be reading this once its posted so let me just say that as an experienced bartender I know how it feels for people not to tip you and it sucks. But never in my life have I thought that being aggressive and rude to a customer would ever get me a tip especially if they aren't finished with my services and are sitting right in front of me. Here's some advice, next time smile and don't let that stick in your a** effect your professionalism. And in case you were wondering, I took your advice and I did have a Good Night (some place else) and I will not come back to this establishment if you are still there. So the only good days to go to Emerald Corner are Tuesday nights. I've been there on weekend nights and it's too overly crowded to even move around! I only like going there on Tuesday nights for their Dollar Beer Night, but I haven't even gone to that in a while. A lot of people who live in the Clifton area end up here because of dollar beer...So, after waiting over fifteen minutes to place my beer order, no bar tender came to our table so I decided to go up to the bar and waited for another five minutes, I then asked "Can you please take our order?" and the bartender, a big-baldhead bloke called Chris responded back with very loud "Do I f**king look like I want to take your order?" and then he said to the female bartender, "Do not to take his order!", so I then asked him, "What did I do to warrant this?", and he then angrily reacted "Get out!" He then pushed me and said "I will call the cops because you are now trespassing!" and I am like what's his problem, I didn't do anything wrong and I was thrown out for no apparent reason. I felt really embarrassed because Chris (the bartender) disrespected me in front of everyone in the bar.. Would I ever come back here? NO WAY! I call this extremely unprofessional and terrible customer service! If he can't work in a crowded location then he shouldn't work there at all! He should be fired for sure! Ok, this was a surprise even to me! Yes, the outside looks like a neighborhood gin joint which is, in fact, what it is. But OH BOY, is it great! The drink specials are amazing (and cheap). The service is terrific -- Lynn at the bar managed to serve everyone all by herself and still smiled at everyone. I had the cheesesteak sandwich and hubby had BBQ ribs and both were terrific. I thought the rib sause a tiny bit too sweet but what the heck, at $12 for an entire rack plus very crispy fries, it was a great deal. We went at 6 on a Tuesday and the place was full; I gather on the weekends, it's packed. So put on your jeans and tee and go enjoy yourself. read more

We were recently introduced to this diamond in the rough eatery, sports bar. Although, not a fan of loud, drunken patrons, the food and service more than makes up for the occasional boisterous patron. I think if you go on other than a Friday or Sat night, you will thoroughly enjoy the food and beverages that certainly gives you a great bang for your dollar.
