Great place for line dancing during the week. There is a mini class at the beginning of the night, and then you can dance the night away. Parking can be a bit tricky there because it is in a residential area. There is a parking lot on the side but it is very small and tight. Wings were okay, and took a while to order. read more

Ok, I was fighting between 2 and 3 stars and landed on 3. We came here to see a band play one Saturday night. Parking is BRUTAL but I can't hold that against them. We found parking about a block and a half away. The vibe inside is really cool. Very clean and very upbeat. I loved it. The acoustics for the band was great. Just a real chill environment. Service was very friendly but also seemed very confused. We ordered wings and got the wrong flavor. And then when we got our check at the end of the night, shots from the table next to us was on our bill. Thank God I was drinking soda most of the night or we may not have caught that. We started with the wings and honestly, they were below average at best. No crisp to them and some parts were just oddly chewy. I saw the table next to us had this wedge salad and I was then really craving it. We opted not to get anything else to eat because the wings were really just that disappointing and at the price point, we didn't want to risk it. Not to mention, the first two beers my buddy asked for.... They were sold out. You're having an event, how are you sold out before it even begins? There was a $15 cover to get in. I was ok with that because the band was beyond phenomenal and let's face it, they're not there for free. It has a ton of potential and from reading the reviews, I'm thinking maybe it was just an off night but I have to base this review on my experience. read more

This dive bar is a great place to go watch live bands. It's not a huge but a decent size. I didn't have anything to eat there though they do have tables so that you can have a meal before the show or even while the band performs. I did enjoy some drinks at the bar though. My only complaint is that there was a cover charge to watch the band. I think that they should waive the cover charge if you go have your meal there before the show. That would be nice. Regardless, I would definitely return since I had a fun time and it's close to home. read more

We had a milestone celebration party for work and needed a good spot to go that would support a large number of people in a hurry and that also had food to match with the drinks. Coming to Shawn's made the most sense because of the close proximity to the project. About 30 of us all showed up unannounced and wanted to have a beer and maybe a bite to eat. The nice woman behind the bar took it in stride and didn't seem flustered at all with sudden influx. The bar is pretty big and easily fit us and the rest of the patrons. On one side of the space there is a large area with a stage for live music and a few tables there. And on the other, some bar top tables and a few TVs to watch the game. Bar food and pizzas came out pretty quick and tasted pretty good. That's pretty ok with me. read more

Yes I'm surprised to be here giving Shawn's saloon a 5 star... because who would think after their renovation, the place looks so much more inviting. And I started coming here for Tuesdays line dancing and that is when I started to love this place. Everyone is so welcoming and line dancing is a lot of fun! It's a great way to spend a Tuesday night with friends or alone! People come alone and become regulars! Also the food is actually very good! I say actually because if you go to the other locals bars around north Arlington, the food is not good. So pick this place! I've had multiple things and all have been delicious so far. I usually only get off the appetizer menu because I'm there for line dancing. The tater tot's are really good. I've had their fall special autumn soup and it was SO GOOD, yes... soup at a bar... and they did not disappoint!! I really love this place and I am so glad it's here in north Arlington. read more

This was my COVID bar because they had a nice back patio set up outside with live country music almost every night. However, a lot has changed since then. This bar decided they wanted to be more like a club, installed all these large windows, started charging $15 cover charges, hardly have any more country bands, raised the price of their drinks, and their food prices are more expensive than NYC prices. However, they still have line dancing every Tues night which is cool, but still doesn't draw much of a crowd last time I went. They advertise a happy hour Wed - Fri 4-7pm, but not transparent about the prices. In fact drink prices aren't posted anywhere. I still enjoy coming here a few times a year, but it was much more divey back then, which I enjoyed better. read more

Huge upgrade from the previous owners, that place was dark and terrifying. A decent size space with beautiful open air windows and it's immaculate. Love that they offer great live music. Sticker shock from their signature drink menu ($28...this is North Arlington not nyc or vegas). Staff were not super friendly or welcoming, just kinda there. I rarely feel compelled to leave reviews unless a meal is so memorable and made with so much love that I am thinking about it for days. Likewise, when someone really cares about their business, I also feel an obligation to share my opinion. Tonight, following a Google search for live music within 20 miles of our house, we ended up at Shawn's Crazy Saloon in N. Arlington, NJ, watching a Rolling Stones tribute band, Tattoo You. If you look around this venue, it is obvious it is run by someone who cares. Every inch of this place is spotlessly clean and well organized. Despite being a neighborhood bar, the cocktail menu (I tried several) rivals anything you can get at a top NYC cocktail bar. The service is superb, attentive, polite, friendly, and they REALLY care about their customers. The food is also imaginative, well-prepared, well-presented, and delivered promptly. Superb experience all around; every aspect of this place should be rewarded with a visit from anyone who likes great drinks, great food, great service, and great entertainment from an owner and staff who really give a damn. read more

My boyfriend and I visited here on a Friday night because they were having a live band. It was a $10 entrance fee. We sat at the bar and we were near the stage. Our bartender McKenzie was super friendly and provided great service. We had the deep fried pizza and an order of buffalo wings. Both were really good. We had an amazing time. The energy in there was awesome. We will return here for another night out. read more

Shawn's crazy saloon is my new favorite bar!!! They have great food and exceptional drinks. The Guinness is poured perfectly and everyone there is so nice and welcoming. The best part about this bar is their commitment to live music. If you want to catch some great musicians and performers come out on a Friday or Saturday night. Sometimes they even have Nashville acts. There is also a really cool Wednesday musicians jam that has been happening that I've participated in. All in all, it's my favorite place to grab a beer and some food and hang out with great people!! read more

Went to hangout and have a few drinks with a friend. Was informed at the door that The Nerds were playing at 9 pm. Told the owner at the entrance that we were here for some drinks and not to see the band. We were given a table with a time limit on it because it was reserved for another party coming in later. We arrived at 7:30 pm on a Saturday night. Our drinks were not finished and we were told that we had to move because the table had a reservation on it for a certain time. We moved to the bar and then was harassed by the owner that the bar seats were reserved,there was no sign on the seats. I told the bar server that I felt like the owner was bullying me and my friend. Then security came up to us at the bar and told us the BOSS ( owner of the bar) wanted us to leave. I said that I was still drinking my cocktail and was not ready to leave. Security said that I had to go! I was very upset because how can an establishment treat their customers so badly! I spoke to the owner and he changed his mind,and gave us 2 new seats at the bar and told us that we could only continue to sit there for 30 mins more because the seats at the bar were reserved! Shawn's Crazy Saloon's policies are horrible! My friend and I just wanted to hang out for 2-3 hrs for drinks .We did not want to see the band and pay $20 each for the show! Because of that we were mistreated terribly and given restrictions on how much time we had to be at the Saloon!! I was polite and did not cause any problems! The owner was not nice and treated us like criminals!! After we finished our drinks, we left! I will never go to this Saloon again! I was harassed and treated poorly because I did not want to pay to see the Nerds band! They only care about making money and not do not care about their customers!! Shame on you Shawn's Crazy Saloon for treating good people like trash!! read more

This place is great. They serve all my favorite drinks and have no problem making anything i have requested. I absolutely love the cheeseburger sliders and the spicy chicken is to die for. Bar is by far one of the best around! They always have great entertainment and music. Food & drinks are solid and not overpriced. Great atmosphere without the typical bar scene nonsense. So love this place, they have great live music and if you like being left alone or talk to friendly face it's everything you want in a town bar. Cover charge on weekends a little ridiculous. The band would probably get more tips and sometimes they'd have larger crowds if they didn't charge. Had to review because they are renovating and that's great, but more importantly they got a new chef and the food sucks. Did the menu need an overhaul yes!? But they had a good foundation. Wings were great the chicken themselves needed seasoning, but their flour was seasoned right. Plain wings or either of their sauces were good a teriyaki or something adventurous thrown in would have been great. Now they don't even have the chili sauce (what was recommended as a house favorite when we first came there)or bbq. Their new plain wings also are horrible and have no flavor. Was so excited for them to get nachos because what bar doesn't have them or a quesadilla, but a bechamel sauce is not a cheese sauce. A base to making a good cheese sauce yes, but that sauce is not good it doesn't even taste like cheese and it's watery. Burgers, BLTs, wings, pizza and nachos with some salsa not just fresh tomatoes make bar food, not what they are serving now. I don't need micro greens and flowers on my food at a bar. If I did I wake up early for brunch. When I came there I knew I was in for a good time, with a great drink, music and food. Now it's like I can go somewhere else for music and a drink. Please fix this soon. I love this place. 5stars on everything else, but currently 3 stars on food because it's just nourishment with no taste. read more

If you want to feel like you belong or like family this is the place to be. The owners and staff treat you with respect and are very professional. Do you like live music then come on by as the live music when there's a band is great. The patrons and environment at Shawns is nice to be around. Cocktails are great and the beer selection is too. Never had a bad beer here always fresh. Now are you the one who gets hungry when you drink, perfect because you don't have to leave or order, as they have a great selection of food to order. Lastly Shawns Crazy Saloon has taken the proper protocols in this COVID 19 world we live in. Great place, stop by have a cold one. read more

But they charged me an extra dollar for asking for a boiled egg. The kid sized pancakes weren't really kid sized but decently big. I guess adult sized pancakes would've been humongous then. Plate came with 2 straps of bacon. The pancakes were average. My toddler ate the bacon. Bathroom is pretty big and has a baby changing table which is nice. The acidity in the tomatoes was cut by the sweetness of the balsamic drizzle. The white toast was sizeable and firm.
