Oh man, this place is super gross. Truly looks like it hasn't been cleaned it a long time. Bathroom is absolutely gross, flies flying around sitting area, walls all scuffed, makes me feel like back of house & blenders can not be clean. Beyond agonizing and disappointing. I took a client with special needs in to try the smoothies as she really loves Jamba Juice. This being a healthier option seemed intuitive and I hoped it would be a positive experience for her. The staff were wretched. The gawking and treatment was disgusting. Emerald City Smoothie is my favorite place to get a healthy and refreshing smoothie. There are so many options and many additions you can add. I have liked all of them. The smoothie menu lists calories, fat and protein content, and they organize the smoothies by what you're trying to accomplish. From the 220 calorie banana, strawberry, papaya "Island Breeze" low-sugar smoothie, to the 1270 calorie ice cream & protein "Builder" smoothie, and everything in between, there's something for everyone! You can add a variety of boosters, including Bee Sure (protein + green superfoods), Fat Burner (burn baby burn!), Calcium, Energy, and many more. They offer soy milk for those of us who don't care for the real deal. My personal favorite for a good source of protein without all the calories is the "Zip Zip" with apples, bananas, Bee Sure, and soy milk. The menu is extensive, ill give them that but the smoothie lacks the wow factor in taste. The consistency is very thin, almost watery. The taste is just ok, a bit artificial for my taste. This place might be a big hit for most people especially kids but for serious healthy smoothie consumers, im not sure. read more

But each smoothy on the menu is very similar and when I try to create another type of smoothy, the waiters seem annoyed and do not give any insight into what they think it will taste like. Had my first "Lean-Out": chocolate soy protein, nonfat milk, banana and peanut butter. Really yummy, and a nice texture. The staff here was excellent. All the staff are friendly helpful and know my drink when i walk in but still give me the opportunity to mix it up. Their happy hour deals are killer if you are an early riser. And they offer punch cards which is nice for frequent guests as my self to be able to work my way to a treat on the house they have a great selection of flavors and supplements to add as well as purchasable supplements to add to your own creations at home. What a gem in Bend! We stopped by here on a roadtrip for a delicious smoothies. Prices were on the higher side but I expect that from a whole fruit smoothie versus one made with syrup. We chose the Maui paradise and it reminded me of the islands. It comes with protein powder but we omitted it for fear of a weird aftertaste... Maybe next time? Lots of choices for drinks as well as some supplements and protein bars. We will be back! read more

My hubby and I love this place. This is not your average smoothie shop --it's all that and them some. You have 100s of flavor combinations of deliciousness to choose from. Any of the cranberry shakes are to die for. They have lots of alternatives and substitutions to choose from: soy, almond milks; vegan protein, and so on. We were in Bend with some friends about a month ago, and we found a coupon in our entertainment book for Emerald City Smoothie. So we went in and tried it out. I was blown away, and hooked right away. My wife also enjoyed her smoothie. I had to go back the next 2 days in a row and get a smoothie. I only wish there was one closer to home! The store has more than just smoothies, it has many other healthy choices, protein bars, power bars, etc. Go in and check one out.
