I was recommended this place by someone and was not disappointed. We came here for my boyfriend's birthday and it really was amazing! We had a reservation and were seated as soon as we walked in. The actual restaurant was very clean and had a nice vibe to it! The seating was comfortable and spacious. Our server was a male (I forget his name) but he was great! He was very friendly, informative of the menu, and also attentive! Service can make or break your experience so I am glad we had a great server! My boyfriend said he had the best lemonade he has ever had. Our food was incredible. Everything tasted so fresh! We got a mixture of a bunch of things. I shared the steak and they were able to cut it in half and cook it at two different temperatures. The steak and mac n cheese were soo delicious!! Our server was kind enough to bring out a birthday dessert and package our food up for us! I knew the prices before walking in here, so I knew exactly what to expect. Most of the reviews say it's too expensive. It was "expensive" but the prices seemed VERY reasonable for the quality of food and the amount given. Overall, I had a great experience and I will definitely be back!

The restaurant is beautifully decorated outside with light and a courtyard area. Inside, was spacious with plenty of room in between tables. The seating was a dark blue velvet decor. We were immediately greeted by the hostess and brought to our table. Our waitress, Kate, was exceptional! She explained everything we needed to know, and gave us ample time to make our decisions on drinks and food. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. The bread came out hot and was very tasty. The salmon was very good and came with a tater tot potato which I was not a fan of. The Caesar salad and Wedge salads were excellent. The 8oz Filet Mignon was good, but not worth the $70 price tag considering that it did not come with any sauce or side dish, because it was a-la-carte. The chocolate torte was dense and rich in flavor. I recommend you look at the menu prior to visiting.

pros: beautiful ambiance, comfortable bar seating, friendly attentive hostess, menu handed to us via a. iPad which was nice as many pictures of the dishes were on there. Many options on menu such as small plates, medium plates, apps, dinners. We opted to share 2 medium plates. The sliders and lobster risotto. Risotto cooked perfectly and had generous chunks of lobster. Great flavor. The sliders came with 3 and were out of this world melt in your mouth delicious. Espresso martini made with real espresso (very important to me) . Cons: verrrry expensive menu. Some staff give off a pretentious vibe (so unnecessary) , probably could've staffed the bar with more than one bartender.

Went here to celebrate a birthday a couple of nights ago and will definitely be going back. Our server Tina was great! ( so was the hostess!) She answered me honestly when I asked for her opinion on a side dish and ended up with something really delicious. The ambiance was a little loud due to a large party seated near us but other than that it was a gorgeous restaurant with a nice vibe. The drinks were just ok in my opinion but they do have a great selection so maybe there are better options than what we chose. Overall a good experience. Will be going back!

- A Feast for All the Senses Ember and Oak isn't just a steakhouse -- it's an experience that blends rustic elegance, culinary precision, and true hospitality. From the moment we walked in, the jewel-toned velvet, glimmering chandelier, and open kitchen set the stage for an unforgettable meal. Our server, Sam, was exceptional -- knowledgeable, warm, and deeply passionate about the menu. She anticipated our needs, made fantastic recommendations, and made us feel like we were in the best possible hands. The bread and butter service alone is worth mentioning -- pillowy, fragrant, and paired with butter so perfectly whipped and seasoned it could be a course on its own. We began with impeccably fresh oysters, followed by artisanal cocktails from Gabriel, a mixologist whose attention to detail and ingredient quality makes each drink both a work of art and a delight to sip. The steak was the star -- beautifully crusted, deeply flavorful, and presented in a way that felt both rustic and refined. Impressively, Ember and Oak can cook a single giant cut multiple ways to accommodate different preferences at the same table. In our case, that meant both medium-rare perfection and a juicy medium-well from the same cut -- a true feat. The sides were just as memorable: the best tots I've had anywhere (crispy outside, tender inside, pure magic), rich and flavorful vegetables, and salads that were crisp and bright. Dessert was a masterpiece -- layered, textured, rich yet somehow light, and the perfect finale to an extraordinary meal. Yes, it's a splurge -- but for a special occasion or a night to remember with friends, it's worth every penny. You won't just leave full; you'll leave overjoyed. 5/5

8oz filet, loaded baked potato, and signature old fashioned.

The current rating of 3.5 is likely accurate. I gave it a 3 after my first and only experience. The loaded baked potato was great. The signature old fashioned was good, traditional old fashioned would probably be better. The 8oz filet was sold à la cart at $70. I'd say it's about $50 overpriced. It was not seared and lacked the depth of natural flavor that a prime grade filet contains. Ambiance felt cramped. I ate at the bar but had my back to the restaurant and many patrons waiting next to me for their table. Service was below par but likely because the bar was under staffed on this day. Their competitors next door provide a significantly better service. When in doubt, opt for a view.

Bistro salad with sirloin (added roasted beets)

This swanky place is hiding in Melbourne- And if you haven't been at all, or in awhile, you NEED TO! The bread they serve when you sit down is so fluffy, with a crunchy salty rosemary brushing, it was surprisingly good. Another thing that surprised me was the Brussels Sprouts, the tuna appetizer, the sliders, and the pork chops! I was able to try so much because I went with a large group. I ordered the Bistro salad and added 5oz sirloin- which was *plenty* after tasting alllll the other things. Go and enjoy!

Birthday dessert (flourless chocolate torte)

This was my second time visiting Ember & Oak, and I chose it again for my birthday dinner because of the consistently great food and service. My husband and I both ordered the steak frites, and we shared the mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts as sides -- everything was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. I had the Pink Daisy mocktail, which was refreshing and well-balanced, and my husband enjoyed the Ember & Oak Old Fashioned. The main reason I returned, though, was for the incredible service and especially the Biscoff cheesecake... only to find out it's no longer on the menu . That dessert alone was worth coming back for, and it truly needs to make a return. Please bring it back! Shoutout to our server, Zach, who was attentive, friendly, and an excellent multitasker despite how busy it was for a Tuesday night. While I was disappointed about the cheesecake, I ordered the flourless chocolate torte, which was a solid and satisfying replacement. 4-star rating -- only because I need Ember & Oak to bring the Biscoff cheesecake back permanently! Everything else, from the food and drinks to the exceptional service, was absolutely deserving of five stars. Once that cheesecake returns for good, it's an easy 5/5.

Soup bowl size risotto. Cup size lobster bisque. Emulsified salad dressing in exchange for red wine vinegar. As we entered the smell of something funky was everywhere like a high school boys gym locker. Soon we found out the smell emulated from some putrid fish served to the next table. Waitresses address everyone by calling them 'my love'. So cringe. In a nutshell, meh food, smelly air.

Excellent food and a beautiful restaurant! The inside has very comfy seats and beautiful lighting as well. We were greeted right away . Our server was excellent- made some good recommendations and made sure to check in on us the perfect amount. The only downside was dinner service was very slow which was hard for us trying to keep our 2 yr old entertained. The bread that they serve melts in your mouth - it's incredible. I got the lobster bisque to start with which was also very good, it had a great lobster taste, but also with a little bit of a kick/spice. Just not a lot of lobster, For dinner I ordered the 10oz sirloin with the Demi glaze and it was cooked perfectly . My husband ordered the ribeye and cleaned his plate . What a wonderful restaurant! We had to bring our 2 year old and thankfully he was on good behavior- the staff were awesome with him too! Thanks for a wonderful birthday dinner !

This place was absolutely amazing. To start off, we came here for a special occasion, and was greeted not only once but three times by the host, server, and manager. The food options are top notch, as is the presentation and tastefulness. To start, we had a few cocktails and beers, along with the Brazilian sliders. For entrees we tried the lobster risotto, steak frites, sirloin, filet mignon, and truffle mac and cheese. I can begin to explain how delicious the food was, along with the attention from our servers. I will be back for special occasions, no doubt!

Certainly we could have overlooked the service, but the food was just OK. But as far as the service, sure one server for the whole place, it's gonna be epic. NOT! I was also a little put off how limited the menu was. Then again, I'm pretty sure they want you in the tavern part, not the dining part. I had the special Avocado GoGo. It was bad bad. You can see from the pictures not much in the way of avocado. They should have called it an olive tampanade with a slice of cheese. Yeah one. At least the olives were good. My wife had the Mansion Burger. It was good. Very sloppy and who doesn't like a sloppy floppy burger. The fries came out cold, no biggie. When we mentioned it, they brought us two giant bowls full of fries. They were great. All in all meh. Now, if you drink, you want to visit their tavern. That looks so cool. Go there for that.

The food was consistently good, the drinks were always on point, the service was welcoming, and the atmosphere made it easy to stay much longer than planned. I'm not sure I'll be able to return anytime in the foreseeable because of those (great) memories tied to this place, but that has nothing to do with Hemingway's. I accidentally wandered into the valet area while trying to figure out where to park, and one of the valet attendants behind me repeatedly laid on his horn hike making what appeared to very rude and insulting hand gestures. When I eventually parked and walked toward the restaurant, the same attendant gave me a pretty intense dirty look, which made for an unnecessarily uncomfortable first impression. I had made a reservation, but we were actually there for happy hour. I wasn't asked when checking in, so I was initially seated in the regular dining area before learning that happy hour is only available in the bar/outdoor area. No big deal--we relocated, my friend joined me shortly afterward, and the waterfront setting is absolutely gorgeous. Our server, Jonathan, was wonderful. Attentive, personable and quick to correct the couple of little issues we encountered. Our cocktails were fresh, crisp and beautifully made. My friend's drink unfortunately came with an unexpected tiny swimming companion , but Jonathan noticed and immediately replaced it. The patio also decided it wanted to participate in dinner. The wind kept catching the heavy plastic curtains behind us, causing them to billow out and then come crashing back into the backs of our heads. It happened several times before another server eventually noticed and secured them. Definitely memorable, although perhaps not the kind of interactive dining experience we were expecting. Fortunately, the food was excellent. We ordered the truffle fries, which were beautifully crisp and well seasoned. The coconut crunchy shrimp were huge, plump and perfectly fried with a wonderfully crunchy coating. I ordered the fish tacos, which were fresh and generously filled. I requested blue cheese on the side and initially received ranch, but Jonathan caught the mistake and quickly corrected it. And those sliders! The meat was incredibly tender, juicy and generously portioned--the standout for me. Between the gorgeous waterfront views, excellent happy-hour food, great cocktails and Jonathan's service, there was plenty to enjoy here. There were simply too many small discrepancies throughout the visit for me to call it a five-star experience: the uncomfortable valet interaction, confusion over happy-hour seating, the bug in the cocktail, the dressing mix-up and our brief careers as human punching bags for the patio curtains. Still, the things Chart House did well, they did very well, particularly the food and the service recovery. Jonathan handled everything graciously, and I'd absolutely return for another waterfront happy hour.
