    Elysian Coffee Shop.

Close to SPH for a quick coffee break. Great food and drink. Clean and interesting coffee shop. Took my Mom there for a change of scenery and she loved her experience. She was given a tea pot for tea, a little container for milk, a quaint little cup and this all complimented her shortbread bar. I loved my muffin and Americano.

I'm always on the hunt for coffee shops to work at and this place isn't bad, I'd give it a 3.5 stars if that was an option. I like their espresso, I get their beans there, and they have a decent selection of drinks. The baristas are friendly. I like going there when its sunny because there lots of sunlight in that place. It's never too loud even though it's pretty small. I just wish they had outlets there, and I don't usually like to stay too long especially if it's cold, because the cold air goes into the small shop every time someone opens the door. Very casual and good experience, just nothing outstanding or anything. Bumping it to 4 stars because I do regularly get their coffee beans.

Stopped by with a friend for a catch up coffee. I like that they had a specialties drinks menu with holiday flavours but it was missing prices. When I asked the cashier the price of a drink, he didn't know. I got pumpkin spice latte and it was good. But as soon as we sat down to drink, we were told the shop is closed now so we had to leave. It was annoying since we only went there to sit and chat and it was 3 PM on a Sunday so we didn't expect to close so early.

GREAT EGG & ROSEMARY MUFFIN. Great coffee as well. Awesome spot beside the burrard hotel. They even have interesting books you can buy. Tumblers, coffee press etc. they make their own latte flavours too!

Stopped here on a nice afternoon and got a latte and an oat bar. The oat bar is DELICIOUS - perfect pick me up treat that's sweet but not too sweet. The latte was huge and delicious. Really affordable prices for the portion. Convenient location to Wall Centre and away from the hustle. Drank half my late before taking a pic but you can still see the pretty art

Amazing service, delicious food and drinks and that quintessentially cool coffeehouse vibe with lots of plants, an outdoor space, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend!!

While waiting for a tour bus, we happened to stop in here for coffee and something to snack on. I ordered a latte and a jalapeño muffin. The latte was made quickly and tasted hot and creamy. The jalapeño muffin was heated up and was delicious. Everything is made in house and you will not be disappointed. Everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is so calm and inviting.

This Almond Cranberry Croissant and egg muffin was good ones. Delicious

Elysian cofee on the first floor of the hotel where I stayed in Vancouver. If you want to have a quick breakfast in the morning, I recommend this place. I brought a cranberry almond croissant with egg cheese muffins to my room. OMG~These were very tasty. Pasteries are limited in number, so I recommend coming in the morning if u want to eat croissant.

Needed to grab a quick late lunch bite and swung by here. Service was friendly and the food was delicious! The ham and cheese sandwich was just what I needed & I really enjoyed the honey mustard that came with it.

    Over $7 for this coffee!

Earlier today I met up with an old Seattle Elite Yelp buddy who I've not seen in many years. He was staying at the Burrard Hotel, and this coffeeshop is located on the main floor of this hotel, street level (on Burrard, corner Helmken, right across from St. Paul's Hospital). So...super convenient downtown location. The interior is small but clean and full of natural light, and they have a decent selection of croissants and the like in the display case at the front counter. I asked the girl behind the counter for their smallest size for a dirty chai. She showed me two cup sizes, saying that's all they have, and that the dirty chai is only available in the large size (I think she said it was 12 oz). Hmmmm, well, okay. Strange but okay (I didn't really want a large, as I can't drink all that!). I was also taken aback by the price: my cup of coffee cost over $7! That's insane. I've never had a dirty chai that expensive. To add insult to injury, I wasn't even that keen on the coffee. To me, it tasted somewhat bitter and off-putting. (I'm sure coffee aficionados might appreciate the beans and the richness here, but for someone like myself, it's not my proverbial cup of tea. I prefer smoother coffee tastes). Another disadvantage here: they don't have free wifi. In this day and age, this is a real negative IMO. Even if they don't want people lingering here, it's still mystifying, having people use their own data while spending so much money on their coffees here. I acknowledge that discerning coffee people might like the coffee beans and beverages here, but for me, this wasn't my kind of place.

Their muffins were quite good. Their coffee was also good. My friend liked that they had vinyl records.

The atmosphere is lovely - very MidMod. Friendly staff. The Americano was perfect and the berry scone was refreshingly not overly sweet.

We ordered the following: Tiramisu Latte Caprese Bite London Fog Apple Cookie Cherry Matcha Tonic Tiramisu Sea Salt Caramel Gelato The Cherry Matcha Tonic was pretty but wasn't too crazy about the flavor. I should have just gone with my original gut instinct and chosen a hot beverage like Hojicha Latte or something like that. I was sort of thirsting for something cooler for a change though, and the Cherry Matcha Tonic was the first "cool" drink that caught my eye so I decided to go for it. Won't do that again. Everything else was good though. The Sea Salt Caramel Gelato was the star of the show! In the store there's a sign beneath their gelato section that says "Canadian Gelato Champion". I believe it after tasting the Sea Salt Caramel! They had Nama Chocolates too. I was tempted to get some but...only so much a person's wallet and waistline can handle at one time. Will try the Nama Chocolate some other time. You can order in person here, or you can place an "Express" order at the Kiosk. We tried both ways of ordering. Ordered at the counter first and then after finished my Cherry Matcha Tonic decided I wanted to try the Sea Salt Gelato so then tried ordering that from the Kiosk. Most of the parking in this area is paid but I lucked out and got a free spot right around the corner from this place!

I could tell even from outside that it's a popular work and study type of coffee shop with your free wifi and outlets. I hope this post doesn't give it away and make it way too crowded for me to find a seat next time. There's a steady flow of people visiting the stores while I was there on a weekday between late afternoon and early evening but there's always extra seat for anyone new looking for a desk to work or chat with friends. A few could be better are the pricing and temperature. They offer free oat milk substitute and -$0.35 for bringing your own cup but no more employee discount. And it was so cold in there, I could see a lot of people kept their winter jackets on, I don't think it's a heating issue but the constant windy seems to suggest the AC is on rather than the heater, oh wells Im out of there now. For that reason, unless I'm bundled up, it'll be a hard sale to be back again! I got a hojicha latte and it as pretty good, perfect sweetness and temperature for my cold with no ice. The barista was super great to work with.

Knowing how good 49th Parallel is with coffee I thought I'd try their version of the London Fog. I wasn't disappointed. In fact it was best London Fog I've ever had. I've had them at other places but I've never seen a preparation like 49th. They use loose leaf Earl Gray tea in a tall paper tea bag. They put the bag in your cup pour the steamed milk in and the tea steeps right into the milk. It's the smoothest London Fog I've had and isn't cloyingly sweet like many I've had.

I was in need of a snack and this was a short walk from our hotel. 49th Parallel is well known for their thoughtfully sourced, house-roasted coffees and their cult-favorite donuts, but they also offer a small menu of sandwiches if you're looking for something more filling. It wasn't too busy when we got there, though most of the tables were taken. We ordered a mix of sweet and savory: the chestnut brûlée donut, a salted caramel old fashioned, and a couple of breakfast sandwiches--the Doug and the Cascadia--both served on soft, buttery brioche buns. My other half also grabbed an Americano to go with it all. The chestnut brûlée donut was my fav of the bunch. The chestnut flavor was perfectly balanced--nice and light. The sandwiches were also good, especially thanks to that pillowy soft brioche. Overall, 49th Parallel was the perfect stop for a small, simple snack! Would recommend.
