This is an absolute MUST!!! We visited for breakfast on our way home and I am so so glad we did. It was one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. It was a rainy morning here this morning and the kids didn't want to get out of their pajamas so we decided to order a take-out breakfast feast and just bring it back to our cabin to enjoy. Yesterday we overheard someone saying Elvira's was very good so we gave it a try. We were really impressed with the great food and reasonable prices. The people were super friendly on the phone and also when I went in to pick up the food which was ready in five minutes as promised. We got an assortment of things including the mountain man omelette, biscuits and gravy, buttermilk pancakes, buckwheat pancakes, hash brown casserole and bacon. Everything was delicious but the casserole was really outstanding- we were sad we had to split it four ways. I would highly recommend Elvira's Cafe- worth the drive even if you aren't staying close by like we did. Hoping to make it back and try lunch before we head home. read more

Great southern cooking with a twist! Elvira was a great hostess for our group. We had Sunday brunch here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Biscuits were Great!! This place looked good due to many cars in parking lot. However the service wasn't the kindest. And they messed up every order. But the omelets were fantastic. They told us they were out of biscuits, when a table that was seated after us and order after us and they Got biscuits. We were very unhappy. This is a very charming little place nestled in the Smokey Mountains. The view on the way up is wonderful; make sure you make time to stop and take pictures. I was a little underwhelmed with the promised mountain views at the actual restaurant though. The service was excellent (we had a very sweet young man seat us). My chicken salad sandwich was very good, second only to Paula Deen's Bag Lady restaurant. The fried okra was excellent! My hubby had the scrambled eggs with ham with a side of hash-brown casserole, both were very good. For sure it was a little on the expensive side, and the portions are not large, but I found that to be true anywhere we went in Pigeon Forge with only one exception. All in all, it was a nice early lunch experience, I would go again if I was in the area. read more

Only one of the waitresses was wearing a mask and it was only on her mouth. All other servers and kitchen staff were also without a mask. And I'd say about 20% of customers waiting for a table were not wearing masks either. And this is at a time when the county government mandates masks and Tennessee is one of eleven states who have had recent surging virus cases. We ate here because there weren't many other choices, but now I regret it. The staff was rude and no Covid precautions were taken. A sign on the door asks guests to maintain social distance and says that you can ask your server to wear a mask. But they sat someone right on top of us when there were other tables open. When I asked politely if they could leave that table unseated to maintain distance, they rudely told me we could go sit outside if we had a problem with it (it was 54 degrees). We kindly asked the server to put on a mask since she was not able to stay 6ft away but she never did. The food was not good either. My fries were cold. I have seen responses posted here by the owner (I guess?) who clearly does not understand how Covid is spread. I felt completely unsafe and will not be back. read more

The food was great. Chicken tenders were small but there was plenty of them. Good was hot when it hit the table and no complaints across the board. The bad Service was horrible. We sat down and had our drinks quickly. That was the only quick part. Very long wait time to get our food. Now granted we did have a larger party, but multiple tables of 2,3, & 4 got their food before us and they had sat down after we put in our order. -1 They had a limited brunch menu on Sunday. And by limited I mean an 11x7 piece of printed computer paper. No country fried steak, sweet crepes and all the other good stuff. When our food did come out she forgot the sides for a couple. No big deal except when I asked for them she responded with a slight attitude like I was being a pain. Because of those I took off another star. All in all I would go back. The food was amazing. But I would go on a different day when they have their full menu. I also understand they might have been busy but having worked in a restaurant for years I can tell you that giving the customer an attitude will never win. Our hotel in Townsend recommended that we try Elvira's and I'm so glad they did! The garden salad was a nice mix of spring greens, dried cranberries, feta, and almonds, but the real star on that plate was the ranch dressing! Super rich and fabulous! The rotisserie chicken, cornbread, and potatoes and onions that my boyfriend ordered were scrumptious, to be sure; however, my fried okra, pickled beets and stuffed portobello were outstanding! Oh, my, y'all!I had to be polite and share a bite with him on account of he's pretty great; but, I can tell you that I wanted to scarf all that up myownself without sharing not even a single little nibble! I heartily recommend everything I just mentioned; however, be careful and save some room for dessert. The coconut creme pie and the blackberry cobbler with ice cream were superb. Seriously. Elvira herself was running the register when we were departing. I love to see a business owner who takes such pride in her establishment. She was a lovely woman who clearly runs this place from tip to grip. If you are going to be in the area, this restaurant is a Must Do. Elvira's is a little cafe nestled in Wears Valley. We decided to stop there on our way to Pigeon Forge. I had heard great things about Elvira's and was excited to check it out. I ordered the French Toast and it was freshly cooked and fluffy. I liked it but it had a drizzle of what I think was sweetened condensed milk and that part wasn't that great for me. I plan to go back and give it another try and get the Crepes. My daughter got the kids flap jacks and I thought they were delicious without anything on them. The service was the best part. Our server was sweet and attentive and the place has a "everyone knows your name" feel. When we checked out, it was by Elvira herself. Based on Reviews we decided to give Elvira's a try this morning. My wife and I both got the Mountain Man omelets, the two grandsons also got omelets. Nice to see the orange juice was real orange juice. Some of the restaurants in Townsend sell Sunny D and call it orange juice. The food was very good, no complaints. The service was very good as well. Breakfast for four was about $60 which is high in normal terms, but normal for a tourist area, which this is. The only thing I could complain about, is the omelets were presented as three egg omelets, but seemed a bit small for three eggs. Must have been small eggs...otherwise, a nice homey comfortable place on Wears Valley Road. I expect we'll be back! read more

We stopped by while in town. Sandwich was good, nothing spectacular. Portion size a bit small. Very disappointed that they are not sanitizing tables and seating. But the fact that the staff have masks hanging from one ear or pulled down under their chin is not worth them even having them. Didn't see any staff wearing masks properly at all. They don't have seating spaced 6 feet apart either unless seated on the porch. Due to lack of patron concern during a pandemic and trying to stay in business I'd say this seamed like business as usual. Will not recommend during a pandemic . read more

First impression was good. But, if you prefer mask, sanitation and social distancing they slack they aren't very good about it. For the most part the employees did not not wear a mask. When they cleaned the tables I did not see them sanitize the table. People were seated next to each other. The other issue I have is the fact that the charge you a fee if you use a card. But, we were mot made aware of it. Don't expect to get sandwiches in the evening. That's only for lunch. Some servers were very friendly. I won't return. read more

Not good. We hit at 11:15 but breakfast ended at 11 and no options for eggs. Instead I had adult cheese toast which should have been called ham and cheese. Greasy.
