Our server Omar quickly filled our drink cups with cold water and took our actual drink order. They have premium lemomades and also fountain drinks with free refills. When he returned he gave us great recommendations from their 8 dollar tapas menu on happy hour (M-F 3-6). We ordered 3: Tacos de Cochinita Pibil / Slow cooked pork marinated in achiote sauce . Calamares Fritos / Fried steak calamari w/ alioli sauce ... Albondigas / Five Spanish pork meatballs marinated in wine tomato sauce with bread .... The bread with the meatballs should be toasted and it was cold. The calamari were AMAZING. Not chewy at all. And tacos unique and flavorful. The nicest part was Omar brought us complimentary shots of some sort of strawberry cocktail with a chili rim. He was so thoughtful and brought my sister who was 12 a non alcoholic version. Looking at the restaurant's ratings, it's hard to believe this was an isolated incident. The manager's reaction made it clear why so many guests leave disappointed. Good restaurants know that service recovery matters just as much as the meal itself. A sincere apology and an effort to correct the issue would have gone a long way. I hope ownership takes this feedback seriously and provides additional customer service training. Guests spend their hard-earned money here and should feel valued, especially when celebrating important occasions.
