With John K. at New Wave Salon in my corner, I felt confident that this was going to work. During our consultation in April he described the whole process and instructed me to let about 2" of the natural color grow in so he could match the tone. In August he spent a full day to implement the transition. Not only did he explain the process step-by-step, but he also made sure I understood the range of results I might see. I couldn't be happier. John was patient, thoughtful about what would work best, and made sure he did nothing to damage my hair. The results speak for themselves. Without reservation, I am recommending John for complex coloring work. I'd also like to share that I was mortified with the prospect of letting the gray show while I was growing it out. At first I tried to cover it up with coloring sprays and hats, but eventually nothing concealed the amount of gray that came in. I was pleasantly surprised by the encouragement I received from family, friends, acquaintances and strangers who freely and continually told me how much they liked my 2-tone look. This made each day leading up to my transformation with John so much easier. My advice for others who are contemplating going natural is, trust the process, and trust John. An encouraged reader asked me to provide info about the cost. I've never had my hair professionally colored so I don't know what the standard cost for coloring is, but this was likely well beyond that. One factor is that it took a full day of John's time with only short rest periods between applications, washing, and blow drying (which occurs between each step so the chemicals are absorbed by dry hair). Another factor is that it depends on variables including how your hair reacts to the chemicals, what chemicals can safely be used without damaging your hair, and how many processes are needed not only to strip the old color but potentially add low lights if quasi-darker tones remain. All this before the silver tint, potentially a glaze top coat, and a final blow out. It's likely that your colorist will provide a complimentary consultation before you start letting the gray grow out. You can ask questions about timing and expected cost range at that time.

I I looked up yelp and the majority of salons in Rockville area were closed on Sundays... I came across this salon while checking out other salons and saw that they were open on Sundays ... I read the reviews here and was pleased by the satisfactions clients received and commented so I decided to make an appointment ... Now I was in a rush, my church services starts at two and when I called the salon they booked me as soon as possible... A friend recommended me to Patty, but she was booked.. So the receptionist recommended me to Valerie. I decided to make an appointment with her because of the fact she was the only one available at that time.. Right when I walked in the salon I felt right at home, and it was my first time at that salon. Crazy? The energy and the atmosphere in the salon made me feel so secured and calm somehow. I was ten minutes early but Valeria took me right away with a kind greeting.. I showed her a picture of the type of hair cut I wAnted in my phone. She explained to me that my face shape would not fit the style because I have a round face, she then explain what style cut would suit me and compliment my features because of my face shape... She then started layering my hair.. I was surprised how patient and careful she was with me as well.. Oh and btw I have a really thick and heavy hair and my ends were completely damaged walking in that salon.. Valeria did exactly as I asked.. She gave my side swept bangs with layers .. She got rid of all my damage hair.. Now my hair feels more lighter, fresh, alive and most crucially healthier...!! I will be honest but I hesitated first when the receptionist recommended me to Valerie because I never heard of her and I didn't know who she was.. But I'm so happy that I got Valerie to cut my hair.. And I want to thank the receptionist for recommending me to Valerie as well!! I'm so happy with the results... And I recommend Valerie for anyone that wants to get a hair cut.. She definitely knows what she's doing.. :) thank you so much for making my hair finally look healthy while looking so trendy as well.. I will definitely come back to get a trim from Valerie... !!! When I first walked in this salon with my wife, I was impressed how modern-contemporary-looking this salon looks. At first glance, I mistaken the salon for any other regular salon that is typically located in a shopping plaza. But as I stepped inside, I was amazed how elegant the furniture was and the overall atmosphere of this place. My wife wanted to try a different salon and one of our good friend told her about this salon. So she called and scheduled her haircut the next day with a woman name Patty. The price was a little pricey, but very reasonable for the type of service they offer. After all, she did an amazing job with my wife and she looked stunning with her new quality hairdo. As I was sitting down waiting at the siting area, I was catered by the staff of this salon, offering me water, Champagne, or any other beverages I prefer. For the past 20 years I've been to a hair salon, I have never been offered any type of beverages in any matter, nor have I been catered to by welcoming staff members. I must say that I am very impressed. The hairstylist dress and act very professional, the front desk clerk ensures that everything is in order, and the shampoo girls welcomes me with warm smiles. Even as I was waiting for my wife, I was greeted by one of the hairstylist and had a decent intellectual conversation with him. I even scheduled a men's haircut with him next week. All I can suggest is to come to this salon and experience it yourself. read more

This is salon is FANTASTIC!!! I walked in and was greeted immediately, offered water and hardly had a wait to be seen. I've had awful experiences and have been on the search for that one hair stylist that gets my hair and understands what I want without having to be so specific. Diane is that stylist! My hair has been a little intimidating to some previous stylists but Diane didn't even look twice at the curly mess on my head...I wanted to touch up my roots and get it blown out. Normally I just ask people to touch it up and not blow dry it since my hair takes a lot of effort and they can never really get it straight...But Diane insisted that she would take care of everything for me...and that she did!! She even put conditioner on my hair after the blonde touch up to make sure the bleach didn't dry out my hair. She blew out my hair with no problems and finished it off with a flat iron...I have NEVER felt my hair to be so silky and smooth after a salon visit. I was so impressed. She was so nice and the salon is so stylish and clean...You will not regret your visit here...Promise! read more

I have been to many different salons in the area and not all have been great experiences. Most have good talent but there is so much more to a good salon experience. Eloquence Salon seems to have figured out the formula! Bright, clean environment: everything is new and nicely appointed. Don't let the outside facade of the strip all fool you: it feels much better on the inside. Attentive customer service: everyone is friendly and truly wants to make your experience a good one. Top talent: Patty is magic with a pair of scissors and a blow dryer. I can't believe it is my hair when she's done! From what I can tell, the other hairstylists are just as good. The only con is the parking on a busy Saturday, but I just found out there is parking up the stairs and in the back so it isn't as bad as it may look. Bottom line: Great service, nice atmosphere. Two thumbs up! read more

She gives great shampoos. As she massages your scalp you feel so relaxed and pampered. I don't want to leave her chair. Before Barbara passed away, she recommended that I try Angie for my styling needs. I have been going to Angie for the past 3 months. She is sweet, caring, and does a great job. I am happy that I have continued to go to Zohra. The staff is top notch and each works hard to please their clients. It was really hard coming back and not seeing Barbara. It takes a special salon to honor her memory and continue to do a professional, caring, and superb job for all of their clients. I urge you to support Ofeer and the rest of the Zohra family.
