Hair color was an A+. Customer service was disappointing. I recently moved to the area and booked with Amy as a new client because of her shining reviews. She even rescheduled my initial appointment when I needed to cancel (with notice). I showed up to my appointment 10 minutes early which gave us more time for the consultation. Once the appointment started, she told me she hasn't taken new clients in over a year because the wait for her existing clients became too long. I asked, "so how did I get here?" She said she didn't know and that maybe I just emailed her at the right time. When I left my appointment with frizzy hair (I guess she doesn't flat iron hair or normally work with curly hair) she told me I could reschedule a new appointment next season or next year, it's up to me... I'm sure she is far more friendly and helpful with her existing clientele. I'm also sure I won't be returning but that is probably alright with Amy. read more

I am blown away by the magic Amy can do with hair! I came in with the remains of a 2018 balayage, and some box dye from the summer. Amy is very up front about what she can do based on the condition that your hair is in, and since I didn't have too strong an idea of what I wanted to do for color, I asked for her recommendations. We went with a single bleach session, and toned brunette balayage ($170). We also finished up with a haircut ($50). I am IN LOVE with the results, and my hair still feels super soft and healthy even after the work! Amy is incredibly efficient and is clearly an expert. Wow - I have nothing but praise for my experience with Amy. From the get-go, she was highly communicative on Yelp and quick to accommodate me for a balayage hair coloring/haircut. Upon my arrival to the salon, I immediately noticed the cleanliness and good ventilation in the space. It is clear that precautions are being taken with regard to COVID-19. My hair was very heat damaged, and I appreciated Amy's honesty/knowledge about what level of lightening was possible to achieve before we started the coloring treatment. It was clear that she cared about the health of my hair as well as my satisfaction with the final color. The coloring itself was extremely efficient. Amy completed my balayage much more quickly than those I've received in the past, but with as much (if not more) skill. After the coloring was complete, Amy recommended a haircut to remove damage on the ends of my hair and a trim to fix my horribly botched bangs (note to Yelpers: never try to DIY them yourself). I am extremely satisfied with the result and my previously dull hair is completely rejuvenated. Amy's pricing is fantastic. The balayage cost about 2/3 of what I have paid previously and looks so much better than color I've gotten in the past. Amy was very friendly, efficient, and communicative. She squeezed me in last-minute and finished my hair cut in under an hour. I have a lot of hair and typically my haircuts can take upwards of an hour and a half, so I LOVED getting in and out quickly. I also really loved Amy's cheerful personality and that she seemed to listen to what I wanted for my hair. Unfortunately, the cut was just not good for me. I have wavy hair that is prone to frizz and I let her talk me into "texturizing" (I.e. thinning shears), because she said my hair was "heavy". One wash later and it's clear that was not right for my hair: Without weight, my hair is frizzier. I don't have enough hair to hold styles I typically wear and had to settle for keeping it in a pony tail. Worse, I know have random short pieces of hair (about 3-4") along my hairline where the ends were sheared off. They're not long enough to be tied back, and so just add to the unfortunate frizzy look. I blame myself for getting talked into something I was nervous about, but I can't give a pass for the somewhat random and haphazard application of the technique. I won't be going back to Amy and won't be letting anyone texturize my hair in the future. read more
