I love Elm Roastery, it's everything you want out of your local cafe shop. It's moody but still bright enough for group chats. Elm Roastery is popular so seating can get limited during busy hours. The service is always great, always kind and helpful. The drinks and pastries provided are so good, never misses.
I wanted something not too sweet but refreshing to break up my food tour in Elmhurst, and their blueberry spritz hit the spot. It wasn't very spritzy but it was nicely brewed and even came with some fresh blueberries.
Nice coffee shop in Elmhurst with quality coffee. The people that work there are nice. This coffee shop gives community. They sell art and crafts people make in the community. They have a wall just for them. Now the coffee, the coffee is usually very good. They put care into making their coffee. My go to is the lavender latte when it's available. It's beautiful. I also like that they offer limited brews from different countries. It's nice to try something different sometimes. I always stop by when I'm in Elmhurst.
As much as I (and pretty much every New Yorker) agree that we don't need another coffee shop every 2 blocks, this seems to be the case with bakeries in Elmhurst, but not dedicated coffee shops (unless you count Starbucks lol). Coffee shop during the day, quiet bar at night. Good coffee, matcha, and cocktails--what a gem of a spot to find yourself in, no matter what hours of the day. Elm Roastery has demonstrated how a business should give back to the community. They utilize their space for good and host a lot of social gatherings and community events, which is not all that common in this area...unless you dig for it. I've been here more than I can count and have tried pretty much most of their menu and I have never been disappointed. They get very creative with their seasonal drinks, which is always exciting. Lots of experimentation (which I get may not be for everyone) and varieties with matcha. I absolutely love going to this place when they get into holiday season mode--tree is up, and holiday specials are out, and they have the coziest environment during after-hours. Also worth noting that they sell handmade crafts that are sourced from local artists, like as greeting cards, accessories, and jewelry, which makes you want to support a business like this even more. I will say that their drink prices aren't really geared towards grab-and-go people who buy coffee every day out of necessity, and taste/quality is not a priority, but rather for people who want to appreciate craft coffee and matcha. Asian-owned (Filipino, I believe since my friend pointed out that they have hard-to-find Filipino pastries).
Cute little cafe to get some work done as well as grab a bite. The service is very fast and the baristas are very polite. The food itself is also simple but delicious and the coffee is definitely worth stopping by for. They also have decaf options for those who just like the coffee flavor but don't want to be jumping off the walls after. They also have a good variety of sweet treats as well, definitely worth a visit if you are in the Elmhurst area.
We got the seasonal gingerbread matcha latte, iced lavender matcha latte, chili chicken toast, egg sandwich. The gingerbread matcha had a beautiful cinnamon aroma and a strong matcha taste filled with aromatic spices. The iced lavender matcha latte was also pretty solid and I could really taste the hints of the lavender syrup. I'm curious about their coffee options given how good their matcha was. The egg sandwich is phenomenal with its cheesy, creamy goodness. The chili chicken toast was not bad but needed more chili for my preferences. They also have avocado toast, which I didn't try but looked good. This place has a lot of seating options from table seats to counter. Some places are designated social zones so no laptops. They also have games available to encourage people to interact. I was very impressed with their efforts in making an open and welcoming environment for friends to hangout.
I love supporting a local business and it's so coo to see a new, hip, modern place pop up in an area with a lot of more traditional businesses around. Staff is friendly. Food can be a little pricey but drinks are more affordable. I ordered the banana matcha and loved it. This place also turns into a bar after hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday which is awesome if you live down the street and want to go out without going to the city and want to stay local.
Iced cappuccino is good Vibes are also nice, well maintained interior Service was also quick Highly recommend coming for a chill coffee spot
Ordered: Iced Strawberry Matcha (~$8) Aya's take: Elm Roastery is already pretty popular and I can see why. Every seat was taken around 2pm on a Sunday. The drinks are made with skill and intention, they have a wide variety on their menu, and they have a great aesthetic! What's not to like? The Iced Strawberry Matcha was vibrant and bright from the strawberry and earthy and slightly bitter from the matcha. Those flavors combined to make a great drink that was also creamy and balanced. It was very pleasant to sip on and gave me a small caffeine kick. ~$8 it was a bit much but the quality was there. Solid try and would definitely come back when I'm in the area!
Pulled up to Elm Roastery Cafe in Elmhurst like I was just grabbing a quick coffee... walked out feeling cultured, productive, and emotionally supported This place is fancy but not trying too hard. Artisan coffee that tastes like it went to school, but priced like it still lives in Queens. Cozy, clean, plenty of seating (yes, even in the back), and somehow there's always a spot--perfect for working, meetings, or pretending you're working while eating pastries. Now let's talk damage: * Teddy Bear Financier -- a teddy bear-shaped almond cake with chocolate accents. Cute? Yes. Manly? Surprisingly. Delicious? Absolutely undefeated. * Ham & cheese croissant -- baked fresh daily, buttery, classic, zero notes. * Beef empanada -- straight home run. No debate. * Cold brew -- fresh, smooth, flavorful, and didn't bully my stomach. Staff? Super kind, helpful, and actually happy to be there. Bathrooms? Clean enough to trust. Atmosphere? Warm, inviting, neighborhood gold. Elm Roastery is a major win for Queens. Come to work, come to chill, come to eat a teddy bear pastry and question your masculinity for 2 seconds before ordering another one. 83-30A Broadway, Elmhurst, Queens Support good coffee. Support good vibes.
Such a hidden gem in Queens! The coffee is always smooth, rich, and clearly made with care you can tell they take their roasting seriously. I've tried both their drip and espresso-based drinks, and everything has been consistently top quality. The vibe is cozy and calm perfect for getting some work done, reading a book, or just enjoying a quiet moment. The baristas are super friendly and welcoming, and I always feel at ease when I walk in. They make you feel like a regular, even if it's your first time. Bonus points for the pastries!! fresh, not overly sweet and the perfect companion to your cup. If you're a coffee lover in Queens, you need to check this place out!
I like the construction is unique and darker color but place is comfortably bright. The ambience warm and the place always maintains comfortable temperature. The drink are a little pricey but decent. I am able to complete some work here with at least 2 charging ports around. Hours are great and bathroom is clean. Not bad for a working and waiting area. Always people here but always have seats. Very decent.
Stopped in on a weekend at around 1:30 PM and the place was packed, but I was able to grab a seat the coffee bar. I ordered an iced ube oat milk latte; it didn't come with coffee so I added a shot of espresso. It was good but not sure it was worth the price ($9.50 with the alternative milk, espresso and tip).
Beautiful new space with a chill vibe and open windows facing the street. Their bathroom has this fun wallpaper to look at lol. We enjoyed the chicken salad toast and my partner enjoyed their iced oat milk latte (not pictured)! They just opened but have good seating options to do work or meet up to hang. Friendly and enthusiastic staff! In the heart of the Elmhurst area, this will definitely be a popular hangout spot :) read more

FINALLY!!! A nice cafe in Elmhurst! So excited for this new addition! I got to visit during their soft opening and the inside is aesthetically pleasing, it's spacious and also has some tables and chairs. There are even seats at the counter which gives it an even more intimate vibe. The service is great and people are super nice! Their croissants are freshly baked and their toasts are huge and loaded! For the price, it is well worth it! Here are some of the things I tried: - Avocado Toast: topped with elote corn and slices of pickled radish. Love the THICCness of the bread. Super tasty! - Honey Butter Toast: Oh mannnn. THIS. IS. IT. Perfectly toasted bread with warm honey butter. It's the perfect treat! - Croissants: they've got a nice assortment like regular, almond and chocolate. I hope they get more ham and cheese cause those are my weakness! - Iced Latte: solid latte for sure! You can choose between medium or dark roast and other milk options available! The simple syrup is right by the entrance where do you can control your own sugar level. Also a HUGE plus, their bathroom is really nice and family friendly with a diaper changing station! That's a rarity in this area. Overall, a really great spot to grab a snack or drink. The vibes are 100, you'll forget you're in Elmhurst!!! What a gem. Can't wait to go back! read more

One of my favorite cafes in NYC! Each time I'm in Elmhurst I always make sure to stop here for coffee, or a nice cocktail and dessert on Friday and Saturday evenings. The service is consistently top notch, and as someone who's very passionate about coffee, there is a ton of variety from such a small shop. They roast their beans on-site, and offer at least four varieties of pour over coffee, my favorite being the Ethiopia Floral Lily (notes of jasmine, lemon, and blueberry)--I usually enjoy bolder/darker tasting notes in my coffee, but this one packs a ton of flavor and leaves an impression! On Friday and Saturday evenings, the cafe turns into a bar, offering cocktails, wines, beers on tap from Alweife Brewing Company, as well as several speciality appetizers that are only served at this time. On my most recent visit, there was a live jazz band, which enhanced the experience even more. Outside of the food and coffee, I also admire Elm Roastery's dedication to supporting the surrounding community, highlighting local artists and partnering with community organizations and businesses. read more

Was super excited to try this place seeing that they had honey toast!!! Sadly the honey toast did not live up to expectations. The honey used (regular Costco honey) killed the entire thing even further. The iced latte was good! Decor was great but there was a horrible sewage smell that came inside the entire shop from outside that totally ruined it for us. Maybe a good place to get Togo for coffee but not to sit and enjoy sadly :(. read more

This is a friendly competition between an amazing latte and an equally amazing caramel latte. Which do you think looks more appealing? I find them both stunning, but one has a slight edge. Honestly, I love them both, and they taste incredible! read more

This is place is now my favorite coffee shop in Queens, the environment and welcoming staff plus the wonderful caramel cappuccino with the famous Elm Egg Sandwich is made to perfection everytime. I enjoy studying there or window view when it's nice and sunny in the Summer. The instrumental music beats sets the tone of the Elm Roastery. read more

Was in the area and seen the ratings for this hidden gem. It was my first time coming to this place and they deserve this review. The music was perfect (so chill), the place was clean, my food (egg sandwich) was delicious, my coffee (mocha coffee) was perfect, the customer service was great, super nice staff. This is absolutely one of the top cafes on my NYC Go-To-List The interior is so cozy and I could honestly spend hours or part-time live here basically haha. Elm serves AMAZING matcha (+coffee) as well as their signature made to order toasts including the chili chicken and elote avocado which are simple yet makes you wanna go back for more. There are a few tables in the back + outlets + free WiFi so you can do some work, catch up with friends, or just watch the baristas rock their latte art. Everyone is super chill and friendly, just great vibes I also love how they feature local bakers and artists from time to time so make sure you check them out P.S. definitely planning to come back and try their espresso martini at night! read more

I've been waiting for a good roaster coffee shop in my neighborhood for a long time, so glad it's finally happening! I am not a big fan of Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, or Fa Da in my area. To me, those coffee were just so blahhh...no aroma and no characters. I'm a picky and heavy coffee drinker. Can't be happier that Elms Roastery brings high quality coffee to the neighborhood! read more
So happy and ecstatic to have such an incredible cafe open up in the neighborhood I'm proud to be from! Staff is so friendly, the interior design is so welcoming and aesthetic esp with the open windows concept (so much natural lighting), lots of variety of drinks for both coffee and non-coffee lovers, and classic/hearty pastries and light meals to salivate over. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and the space was packed with all sorts of people in the community. You've got families, aunties and uncles, couples, friends, everyone was so friendly. I also like the shelves with merch that represent little pieces of Elmhurst from the travel mug to shirt and baseball caps. Saw people studying/working here on their laptops thanks to free wifi. Oh - the drinks were also delicious as well! We ordered iced matcha latte (so rich) and sparkling berry lemonade (so refreshing). Overall, I highly recommend checking this new spot out and supporting them!!! read more

Ask me about coffee, I've been to so many coffee spots just to work from an environment that is chill, light music and some good food. Some items to take in to account at the elm is definitely the chili crisp toast, it has a blend of Szechuan style chili with a crispy bread and delicious chicken with a blend of some sauce that's making me drool as I write this review. I'll have go back tomorrow. The ambiance is very zen, of course Peter is that guy! Shout out to Peter. The coffee is the best in Elmhurst, quote me on that, they have other refreshing drinks and delicious teas and some awesome Kombucha! The other toast that stands out is the tomato pesto, the flavors sound just as good as it taste make sure you check it out! read more

Met up with a friend for lunch and had their chicken salad on toast. I appreciate the chili oil twist on it! The toast was quality bread from a fresh loaf. The ice tea was refreshing - strong but not bitter, and not watered down. All unique for this neighborhood. The food is beautiful and I appreciated the use of real, substantial utensils. read more

Visited here for their soft opening and it did not disappoint! The ambiance and interior was so chic and pretty. The very nice baby changing station was also a great touch and welcomed convenience for moms. I ended up getting a cold brew and chicken salad toast which were both so delicious. The staff were so kind and friendly! Will definitely be going back! read more

Pristine and spacious coffee shop with ample space to get work done. Service here is friendly and quick. Unfortunately, the cold brew coffee here is horrendous --easily watered down, and they use granulated sugar that doesn't dilute in cold water, instead of using simple syrup. read more
