Amazing service, and even better menu! Original recipes and things you won't get anywhere else! Definitely bring your friends.

Stuffed French toast.

Pulled this place up on Yelp, looking for a local diner, and not someplace with a drive through. The grill is right behind the counter; watch the line cooks as they prepare your food. Lots of locals at the counter, eating breakfast and lunch at noon. Quick, pleasant to respond counter service from the waitress, like she has probably been working here for decades. She knows everyone, and apparently their typical orders as well. I ordered the Florentine Benedict and stuffed French toast; raspberry sauce filled. Probably more food than I need, but after several days of road food at service islands, I won't mind getting full on some home cooking. Watching the cook as he prepares the poached eggs for my Benedict. Nicely done. Servings are huge. Didn't need to order the French toast. Both look and taste great. My word...huge meal. Well worth the stop, and the drive off the interstate to get here. Conversing with the locals about the weather and the world.

Steak tip breakfast bowl. Amazing blend of flavors! Not always on the menu, but when it is, get it!

Oh my...a diner but so much more! It is a Hotspot for great food. Not just your traditional diner choices but some really creative ideas that were outstanding! I ordered a special, not always on the menu... grilled steak tips breakfast bowl with onion, green peppers, A1 sauce, 2 poached eggs w hollandaise all on top of a bed of crispy tater tots with cheese... sounds like a strange combo at first hut it really worked! And it was huge and Iam looking forward to finishing it tomorrow for breakfast! We also tried the shaved steak and cheese omelet which earned high marks, and fruit stuffed French toast. When asked what he warned for a filling and they suggested fruits like strawberries, bananas, blueberries, etc. and my brother-in-law said "all of them sound great..and so they did just that! Mixed some of all the fresh fruit fillings into his stuffed French toast...and they also have him a generous dollop of freshmade real whipped cream! It was to die for! Be prepared to wait for a table most days I'm told. We lucked out to arrive when it wasn't especially busy. Service was very friendly, greeted your with a big smile. Checked on our needs often without being obnoxious. All in all, this is a must visit restaurant. One critical note. It can be hard to find because it's located at the BACK of the building!

Our server Ava was very sweet, kind and attentive to our needs. Elm Centre Cafe is always a busy little place but the food and service is definitely worth the wait!

When it comes to breakfast spots, I always aim for busy places and good reviews. Elm Center Cafe is a far ways away from my typical locales, but Ho-ly was this good! Staff were very friendly, got us seated quickly and had our drink orders in just as you sat down. This place was bustling, kitchen staff was furiously churning away at meals and the wait staff was rapidly seating, serving, and taking a ton of to-go orders. My girlfriend got the irish benedict with their homemade corned beef hash, and I opted for the banana nut bread french toast. Even with the surge of orders, we got our meals in about 10 minutes. This place is very efficient. The food though...That's one of my favorite breakfasts I have had in a long time. They got a solid hollandaise sauce, the eggs were poached perfectly, the corned beef had an nice crispy crust, the english muffin was toasted with real butter, and that's just the fork-full I was able to snag. The french toast was amazing. crispy custardy bread with walnuts, real maple syrup, sliced banana, and just a small amount of real butter on top. Surprisingly dense, but not overbearingly so. It was a dessert breakfast, and it was heavenly. I mean, yeah. This place is a great little cafe that deserves its 5 stars. I am impressed, and will be back again for sure.

This place has been around since I was 12 and moved to town, not saying my age but I've lived in the area for decades. Not sure why I haven't helped them before ‍ A family run breakfast & lunch Cafe that has wicked pleasant workers and they are on top of needing drink refills, cleaning off dishes etc. always with a genuine smile. The portions are VERY filling with plenty for take away and a meal later. A great place to start the day

Western omelette was Fabulous.

The service, the food, everything was phenomenal!! What a Great breakfast!!! I recommend the Elm Centre Cafe

Is this diner cash only?

Hello, I don't know the answer for sure as I've always paid cash. But here's their phone number if you want to call. Hope this helps :)… Read more

Can this breakfast spot accommodate a large group (about 30)? How many table seats are available?

Oh dear, no no they can't. Unless you called to book out the whole restaurant :) I tried thinking of a location near this spot and really can't come up with anything to accommodate that number of people, other than Crackerbarrel in Sturbridge which… Read more

That alone would make me a regular customer if I lived closer. Quaint little place, a bit warm, which is a part of its charm. Lots of off street parking.

"Polk Salad Annie Gators got your granny"…read more(Elvis Presley) We found Annie's on Main Street in Sturbridge, just look for their big sign in the parking lot. Speaking of parking, there are plenty of spots in the parking lot where the restaurant is located. Annie's is a family-owned breakfast and lunch spot, opening at 7am and closing at 12 or 1 every day. You'll find just about any breakfast or lunch comfort food here, so even the pickiest eater in your party will find plenty of options. Their menu has a few interesting choices, like three different "Egg White Mixers" that combines vegetables or baked ham with scrambled egg whites and toast. We also were impressed with the Family Style Meals for four or six. We stopped for breakfast on Saturday and were seated right away by Paige. She was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. My wife's breakfast order was a 4-egg Cheese Omelet ($9.50) served with Annie's Home Fries and choice of toast. I went for one of those Egg White Mixers ($8.25) and chose the Veggie with onions, peppers, and tomatoes, It was also served with Annie's Home Fries and choice of toast. I couldn't resist when I saw the magic words "Corned Beef Hash" on their menu, so I also asked for a side of their Fresh Homemade Corned Beef Hash ($7.25). My breakfast was fantastic, and that corned beef hash was loaded with lean shredded corned beef. Two Negatives 1) Have you ever been charged extra for hot sauce? Well, sadly Annie's charges $1 for those tiny plastic containers of hot sauce. 2) Coffee is a pretty important breakfast component, right? When I spend $4 for a coffee, I expect the coffee to be very good. Truth be told, Annie's coffee was terrible; it was incredibly weak and flavorless.

The restaurant is very clean. I've met the owner twice as he tries to get around the diningroom before you leave to make sure your experience was a good one & personally thank you. I feel that in itself makes a big difference in quality control & guaranteeing he is hearing his customers & perhaps can make changes before it becomes a business-changing problem. (Sometimes a few bad reviews spread like wildfire & changing rumors back to the truth can hurt the bottom line). There is a delightful waitress you'll be glad to have serve you if you are lucky enough to be seated at her table. "Grandma (name)?" is a very happy way to start your day. She knows the menu well & can make you smile on your worse days. The menu has plenty to choose from & the portions sizes..epic! Eggs Benedict is 3 egg size. Pancakes & French toast orders are enough for today & tomorrow without adding eggs or meat. But their prices are similar to other places lessor size plates. There is an ramp at the entrance for those with mobility issues. There are a couple of handicap spots too. I do not know if the restrooms are wheelchair friendly as I didn't check it out yet. Even on a packed Sunday morning, the kitchen was quick moving the food out.. the waitress was right on top of refills too. Definitely worth stopping in & giving it a try but bring your appetite. Eating like a bird, I think, is frowned upon.

There weren't too many people there, but it made for a lowkey dinner. The food arrived quickly, and everything we had was actually much better than we were expecting. Cool concept with all of the books lining the dining room, and we appreciated that you could take 3 for free. Also walked around the book cellar too. There weren't really any titles that grabbed us though. My main critique is that it was pretty dusty... we looked at one of the lights and the cobwebs on it made it look like a Halloween decoration. You have to wonder if the dining room is that neglected, how bad is the state of the kitchen? Wouldn't be in a rush to come back, but glad I can say I've been to what's considered such an iconic roadside stop.
