I very seldom give a place 5 stars. The owner and chef is very nice. The portions are enough for 2 meals. Prices are great! Staff are very friendly. The food is delicious . It is usually packed to the brim. Only thing I miss is the delivery they did during covid. The restaurant is clean and with the business they do, I can see where they wouldn't have time to take orders for delivery. Limited hours open but are open early. Portions are generous and they have the best tasting biscuits and gravy I've had in the Sturbridge area and I've been to all the good breakfast places within a 30 mile radius. I wish I knew where to start. This Cafe is a gem in the town of south bridge. The place is clean, every server was incredibly friendly. The food was amazing and also incredibly affordable. Every food item came out fast and fresh as well. I've been to A-lot of Cafes and diners and this is by far one of the best. I wouldn't change a thing. I was amazed by their service, as every employee was beyond friendly and very attentive to their guests. Their menu has great options too. This establishment really feels like home. YUM,YUM,YUM!! The food here is sooooo good, breakfast or lunch, it's all good! My son doesn't want to go anywhere else for breakfast, legit. If I tell him were going to breakfast he immediately asks, "Elm Centre??" Lol, yup where else! I love the oatmeal french toast but the pancakes are amazing as well, HUGE but amazing. Prices are a little steep but who's aren't?! My only complaint would be the waitresses, I find some of them to be a little crude and very much your typical diner waitress. The Elm Centre Cafe is an amazing local diner in Southbridge Mass. As mentioned in other reviews, it IS very hard to find, but SO SO worth it. The best tip I can give, is that you have to turn into the parking lot for a municipal building to find it, it is not visible from the road. Stopped here after a weary night of driving through an ice storm on our way to NYC for the holidays. It was an icy/slushy gray morning, but once we walked through the doors of the Elm Centre Cafe, all of that was forgotten. They have counter service, tables and super comfy booths. They have a ton of breakfast choices. In our group we ordered a western omelet (awesome), the house made corned beef hash (super good, made in the style of the canned classic but much much better), poached eggs on pumpernickel (perfectly cooked), a blueberry fatcake (so good, and HUGE) and a side of homefries (expertly prepared). The coffee was hot and bottomless and the staff was SUPER friendly. While I would say that the menus is extremely varied, What set this diner apart from others in my opinion, is the skill of the chef working the grill. Basic breakfast staples were cooked with a fine touch, it was clear the cooks here really know what they are doing. All four people in my party absolutely loved this diner, we all wished we lived closer and could become regulars. read more

We've all heard of hidden gems. This place is simply hidden. Located in the rear of a building across the street from the firehouse there are no signs from the street directing you in. You simply pull into the parking lot for Town Hall and look to your left. they must be doing something right as there were quite a few people here when we walked in around 9:30. We walked into a surprisingly large and very clean dining room. We sat down at a booth and the menus were right there in front of us under the glass table top. The staff was quite friendly, even had a cup full of crayons and a coloring book for Baby B. I kept it simple, opting for scrambled eggs with bacon, home fries and rye toast. Was in town again for a few days. This place has potential, with decent food. But for a place with a lot of regulars the staff seems pretty dysfunctional. From " please wait to be seated" and the waitstaff ignores you, so we seated ourselves. To having to eat without my wife being served yet, or wait for my meal to get cold. Then she ate her meal once I was already done. Everyone knows everyone, so they do have some experience. Not sure where the brakedown is. Will keep it in mind as a back up. read more

Nice quaint and clean breakfast place in the center of Southbridge. Ordered the egg white omlet with spinach and feta, hash browns and side of bacon. Service was pleasant and fast with a smile. Food was cooked fast and brought right over. It was perfect! I love the hash browns, they're the shredded type. Coffee was Good as Gold which was awesome. What a great find! We were in Southbridge for a wedding and looking for a local place. Cozy, no frills, super-friendly (even post a sign saying everyone of all colors, all ages, all races...welcome!) and the food is fast and delish! My husband had a made to order omelet packed with bacon and I had the pastrami melt. Yum. The wait staff is a team and you don't sit waiting for a second. It's as if a tap dancer was doing a jig on your taste buds. Jeremy Buteau the head chef and owner is so friendly to all of the customers and the staff do an excellent job. Like I said the service is amazing and the food is spot on. All I have to say is if your looking for a big meal just buy one, yes only ONE pancake and you will be set for the rest of the day.
