"In 1966, a Mr. George Schmidt opened a small business called Shoppers Supply. Starting out as a fleet and farm operation in the rural town of Spencer, Iowa, over the years it has blossomed into a multi-store retailing business. Even today, Shoppers Supply continues to be a family-owned and operated retailer, run by three consecutive generations of the Schmidt family." They are involved in the community and also support local animal rescues and local businesses by allowing them to set up in front of the store/in the parking lot. The service has always been satisfactory and typically quick. They also offer complementary fresh popped popcorn which I think is such a nice touch. I personally come here to buy food for my flock (chickens and ducks) and the peach rings.. lol! I always forget to snag pictures but they have lots of items within their inventory. Within the store, they have tools, clothing/shoes, livestock feed/items, guns, fishing items (including bait/live worms), dog items, uhaul services, and so much more. They have live chicks (seasonally) as well which I have to shield my eyes from looking at.... :). Lately they have typically been priced at $5.99 a chick (or more depending on breed). They have had some really awesome breeds in the past. I do feel the value is comparable to other feed stores within the area throughout the years. The prices have raised in the last year so I haven't done a comparison price for price recently. For poultry feed specifically, they offer Country Companion (CC), Nutrena, Purina, Kruse's Perfection and organic brands (this list is not inclusive of all items just the ones I remember). The typical items I purchase are below which I had the price available for as of February 2024: 50# CC scratch is $17.49 a bag 50# CC 16% layer pellets $19.99 a bag 40# Kruse's Perfection super 9 superior scratch $22.99 Peach rings $2.99 per 7 Oz bag

If I could give this place zero stars for customer service, I would--specifically their tool repair…read moredepartment. Our Festool saw broke down while still under warranty. My husband brought it to Timber Woodworking Machinery under the impression that they could handle the repair process. He was told that the Festool representative comes in on Fridays and that he could leave the saw there (without the box), and the rep would pick it up and send it to Festool for warranty repair. We expected a relatively quick process--maybe two or three weeks. Instead, two months later, we were still calling for updates and receiving no clear answers about when we would get the saw back. No one could even provide a rough estimate. For a company associated with a premium brand like Festool, this level of communication was disappointing. Timber would not provide me with a direct contact number for Festool and continued giving the same vague explanation: that a part was delayed coming from Germany and nobody knew when it would arrive. I eventually found Festool's service ceneter's number myself and began communicating with them directly. After multiple conversations with Festool--one of which became unpleasant enough that it had to be escalated to management--we finally received a call from a Festool customer service manager, Melinda. She informed us that because the repair had taken so long, Festool would be replacing the saw with a brand-new unit. Finally, some good news. Unfortunately, none of that progress came from Timber Woodworking Machinery. We had to advocate for ourselves every step of the way. Less than a week later, Timber called to let us know our replacement saw had arrived. I went to pick it up immediately and was actually prepared to leave them a positive review despite the long delay. However, less than an hour after I got home, I received a call from shop manager Ray Ann claiming there had been a mix-up and asking me to return the Sustainer box and manual because they supposedly belonged to another customer. Seriously? At that point, my confidence in the entire process was gone. After months of poor communication, lack of updates, and confusion surrounding the replacement, this final incident only reinforced my impression that the repair process was poorly managed from start to finish. Festool ultimately resolved the issue by replacing the saw, and I appreciate them standing behind their product. Unfortunately, my experience with Timber Woodworking Machinery's repair department fell far short of the level of service we expected.

Unfortunately, I've had multiple negative experiences with customer service, specifically with some of the female employees. During the Memorial Day sale, I politely handed an item to an employee to double-check the price. She responded by huffing and puffing, then snatched the bag out of my hand, which felt very disrespectful and unprofessional. I didn't catch her name, but she was short with blonde hair. It's disappointing because I genuinely like the store, but experiences like this make me reconsider returning. Good customer service goes a long way, and I hope management addresses these concerns.

Our house was built in the early 1990's and the cabinets throughout the house were what's called…read moreeither "honey oak" or "golden oak". The doors were square and boring. They also had a wide (3") stile between each cabinet door. The boxes themselves were in good shape. About a year ago we looked into refinishing the cabinets and received some bids. I was surprised by the high prices but it's a very labor intensive job so I suppose they made sense. In the end, we'd still have the oak and the boring look. Fast forward one year and we started looking into re-facing. We received three bids that were all close to each other. We found Cabinet Cures at the Phoenix Home and Garden show and immediately liked Kelly (the owner), their process and the door samples. We scheduled an appointment for a bid. At first all we wanted done was the kitchen, a hutch, and a base bar cabinet. However, after looking at the prices and talking with Kelly we added the master bathroom, the main bathroom, a half bath and the laundry room. Yes, that's a lot of cabinets! We couldn't be happier with the way this project went. They came out twice to take and then confirm measurements and we waited about three weeks so the new doors, etc. could be made. As Cabinet Cures will explain to you, they don't just apply thin veneer to your boxes and cabinet fronts. They attach quarter-inch facings over everything. Rather than the peel/stick glue used with the thin veneer they use wood glue with brads around the edges. No way moisture or heat will affect the bond in the future. The crew showed up on the first day. Nice, friendly guys who laid paper down on the floors in front of the cabinets and the hallways. They also covered the counter tops with paper. After that they went to work removing the old cabinet doors and drawer fronts. Installing all of the quarter-inch panels and strips took days. We found that another plus to using quarter-inch sheets was they were able to shim it out to cover an area that was a bit out of kilter. On the last day the doors were installed. Talk about a transformation! Our cabinets went from dated and boring to brand new and up-to-date. All of the new hinges are hidden and self closing. They worked with us to place the knobs and pulls and the final result is, in a word, perfect. Because of the number of cabinets (over 60 cabinet doors and 30 drawer fronts) it took five days to complete which is what we were told up front. There was no sense that they were in a hurry to get it done. In fact, just the opposite, I was impressed with the attention to detail. Each day the crew swept the floors, put their tools and materials away and left the house they way they found it except for the paper on the floors and counter tops. Although Cabinet Cures is new to the Phoenix area they've been doing business in other cities for a number of years. This was my only concern going in and I actually joined Angies List in Oregon so I could check their reviews. I also checked Oregon's version of AZ ROC and their BBB. These guys are golden.
