Our house was built in the early 1990's and the cabinets throughout the house were what's called either "honey oak" or "golden oak". The doors were square and boring. They also had a wide (3") stile between each cabinet door. The boxes themselves were in good shape. About a year ago we looked into refinishing the cabinets and received some bids. I was surprised by the high prices but it's a very labor intensive job so I suppose they made sense. In the end, we'd still have the oak and the boring look. Fast forward one year and we started looking into re-facing. We received three bids that were all close to each other. We found Cabinet Cures at the Phoenix Home and Garden show and immediately liked Kelly (the owner), their process and the door samples. We scheduled an appointment for a bid. At first all we wanted done was the kitchen, a hutch, and a base bar cabinet. However, after looking at the prices and talking with Kelly we added the master bathroom, the main bathroom, a half bath and the laundry room. Yes, that's a lot of cabinets! We couldn't be happier with the way this project went. They came out twice to take and then confirm measurements and we waited about three weeks so the new doors, etc. could be made. As Cabinet Cures will explain to you, they don't just apply thin veneer to your boxes and cabinet fronts. They attach quarter-inch facings over everything. Rather than the peel/stick glue used with the thin veneer they use wood glue with brads around the edges. No way moisture or heat will affect the bond in the future. The crew showed up on the first day. Nice, friendly guys who laid paper down on the floors in front of the cabinets and the hallways. They also covered the counter tops with paper. After that they went to work removing the old cabinet doors and drawer fronts. Installing all of the quarter-inch panels and strips took days. We found that another plus to using quarter-inch sheets was they were able to shim it out to cover an area that was a bit out of kilter. On the last day the doors were installed. Talk about a transformation! Our cabinets went from dated and boring to brand new and up-to-date. All of the new hinges are hidden and self closing. They worked with us to place the knobs and pulls and the final result is, in a word, perfect. Because of the number of cabinets (over 60 cabinet doors and 30 drawer fronts) it took five days to complete which is what we were told up front. There was no sense that they were in a hurry to get it done. In fact, just the opposite, I was impressed with the attention to detail. Each day the crew swept the floors, put their tools and materials away and left the house they way they found it except for the paper on the floors and counter tops. Although Cabinet Cures is new to the Phoenix area they've been doing business in other cities for a number of years. This was my only concern going in and I actually joined Angies List in Oregon so I could check their reviews. I also checked Oregon's version of AZ ROC and their BBB. FRAUD ALERT: Anthony Duenas apparently purchased the franchise from the former owner. He came to our home, provide an estimate for a medium-size job, and took a $2025 deposit to pay for the materials cost. Just prior to the installation date, he called and said the maker of the drawer boxes had an equipment breakdown and we'd be delayed a week or so. When that time expired, he called and said there'd be another delay. When that time expired, he called and said the drawer boxes had been built but he had moved them to storage because he was in a business dispute with "Corporate" and had been served with a cease and desist order. Claimed to be setting up another business. After giving him some additional time, we asked for a refund, he said he'd get us a certified check. When that was supposed to be delivered, he called several times over several weeks providing additional excuses for the delay. I asked him to deliver the boxes to my home so we had something to show for our money - he said he would. Again, several delays, numerous excuses, no boxes delivered. I asked for a copy of the receipt for the bill he allegedly incurred for having the boxes built. Said he would, didn't, then stopped responding to my questions. I don't believe the boxes ever had been built. I think he took our money and used it for other purposes. Since we originally paid him by credit card, we still had time to dispute the charge. That is still in progress. Unless we are reimbursed, I'm going to the police next. He always comes across as nice and agreeable but fails to deliver on any promises made. I'd suggest you stay away from any business dealings with him. read more

SCAM ALERT - Anthony made big promises and delivered on some of them. Initial job was done but needs some repair work. Signed a second smaller contract to add some pullouts and deco panels to the existing job. Problems started right from the beginning. Placed the initial order in March for install int he first week of May. Got a call to postpone to the 2nd week due to a more demanding customer. Was promised the work would be done it 3 days. It took 6 because Anthony kept pulling his installers off for other work. Work was completed with some minor issues to fix that were promised to be done when the the follow on work was scheduled. 6 months later and hundreds of excuses and we are still waiting for the work to be completed. Called "corporate" and found that they are not really the corporate office, just the owners of the name that they licensed to Anthony. But "Corporate" did promise to make things right to protect their name. I have since found out that the phoenix website is down, his license is suspended and his phone numbers now go to a generic voicemail instead of the nice Cabinet Cures voicemail. I guess he is not out of business and has taken everyone's money for any jobs not completed. read more

Owner is Anthony Duenas, business AKA Cabinet Cures of Arizona. He refaced my kitchen cabinets and 2 small hallways 1/24/18. Horrible job with the stain, very blotchy. The stained cabinets he showed me in his catalog were beautiful, as were the ones I saw on his website. Mine look nothing like those. He agreed to replace everything but the skins. This took nine and a half months. I got lies and one excuse after another and they look worse. He did not replace crown molding which is 2 different colors. I have photos with dates, to prove that. He said, "that's the way the wood took the stain." Maple has the least inconsistencies and should not stain this way with the proper procedure. The Registrar of Contractors can only hold him to the MINIMUM standard. He has my $7,200. I have dealt with warped doors, broken lights, missing hinge on door, missing skins on each side of microwave, missing skin on left hand side of refrigerator, and raw wood in crevices of several area on doors and a fine white powder coming out of the doors. He told me that was sawdust. Sawdust coming out of brand new doors? I have to hire a professional to paint my cabinets. This will cost me approximately $3,500. Remember, just because a business has many rave reviews, that does not make them REAL. They can have their friends post them. read more

I got 6 estimates to reface my old kitchen cabinets and Anthony from Cabinet Cures came in right in the middle pricewise, but we picked him because he seemed to have a higher quality product. He came to the house with samples and when we chose a finish even had a sample door made and sent to us to be sure we liked the finish.Our old oak cabinets were very worn but we had nice granite so refacing was definitely the way to go. They just finished the installation and we couldn't be happier.The kitchen is transformed and there were a lot of extra touches that I wasn't expecting that really made the cabinets look high end. Things like upper and lower molding, wood applied on the bottom of the upper cabinets and non-laminate box siding. The crew was respectful and tidy and FAST. I honestly can't believe this is the same kitchen. As a realtor I can tell you that the value of my house just went up far more than what I paid for this improvement. Cabinet Cures re-faced all of our kitchen cabinets and they look wonderful. I would highly recommend Cabinet Cures for any re-facing projects. I met Anthony at the Phoenix Home Show and I was interested in their product. I called Anthony after the Home Show and he came out and explained the process of re-facing and took measurements and gave us a quote. We also picked out the color of the cabinets. I did try and get another bid but that person said he couldn't compete with Cabinet Cures price. After I booked the job, we went to the Showroom to check out the different colors and styles to make sure I was happy with my choice of color and style. Anthony was very patient us and answered all of our questions. Anthony provided us with door samples of the style and color of the cabinet. We couldn't decide if we wanted the glaze or not, so one sample was with glaze and the second sample was without glaze. We decided to go with the glaze. We were able to shop with the sample door to figure out what type of hardware we wanted. Anthony came out of the day the work was to be started and took off all my kitchen cabinet doors and drawers. The next day, the men came to the house and started the project. I felt sorry for them because our air conditioner broke and they had to work in 105 degree heat with our swamp cooler and fans going. They were troopers. They didn't complain and said that it wasn't too bad until late in the afternoon. I didn't feel that they were trying to rush and get the project finished. Both of the men were hard workers and they answered any question that I had as they were re-facing the cabinets. They cleaned up each day. You would have never known they were in your house. They finished the job ahead of schedule. They installed the hardware for the cabinets and drawers. We were missing 8 new hardware handles for the drawers and they waited a little bit so that we could go purchase the hardware. We highly recommend Cabinet Cures if you're in the market for resurfacing your kitchen cabinets. I think our new Knotty Alder cabinets are absolutely stunning! We got several estimates prior to deciding on Cabinet Cures, who was in the middle cost range of the bunch, and chose that firm because they use solid wood (instead of plywood) on the cabinet ends. In addition to the crown moulding and baseboards, the price also includes moulding on the bottom of the cabinets to hide under-cabinet lighting. This job was for a second home we are renovating to sell, and I've got to say the quality of these cabinets is far superior to what we have in our primary home, which was a new build 7 yrs ago. Although other reviews complain about the inability to get call backs, we had no trouble reaching them the first time. Plus, they moved up our installation date by two weeks, and got all 58 linear feet done in less than two days, leaving our house without any mess at all!
