Had an enormous baked potato with pulled pork on it. The pork was kind of dry. My son had what he thought was pretty good brisket on his. The chalk board said they had blackberry cobbler and I ordered some only to find out they didn't. A fairly lackluster dining experience, all in all. read more

Recently moved to the area and was use to Rudy's or Sonny Bryan's BBQ... Although, this place wasn't quite as good they did have great fried okra and good potato salad. The slice beef sandwhich was good but a little over cooked. The bun was good, and toasted. Sandwich and one side was 7.99, not too bad. My husband said they needed to have a spicy BBQ sauce as an option, which might be nice. Overall, I thought it was good BBQ. read more

Great management and customer service, fantastic food. I didn't think that they were overpriced at ALL, compared to the other BBQ options in town - sure they're more than Taco Bell across the street, but I'd expect that. For the price, the meals are large, the portions plenty, and the quality is excellent. The meats were tender and moist, the sides were delicious, and the sauce is thick and amazing. This is the best BBQ in town! The cowboy tater nachos are amazing! The beer tower may be my favorite thing (reasonably priced) the baked potatoes are great. Their smoked chicken is really good! That being said they have the best salad ever it's a smoked chicken salad and its big enough to share or take home for another meal. Wait staff is always really nice! I want to love this place because it's always busy and seems like it should be good. But they have two flaws-price and menu items. The prices are quite high for being a restaurant in a small town-around $10 for a sandwich and one side, no drink included. And the menu item problem they have is that every time we've been, they've never had baked potatoes for stuffed potatoes. This seems to be a specialty of Tx BBQ joints and this place-while they say they've sold out-just never seems to have them. The last time we tried to get them, it was around 8:30 at night and they told us they had sold out at like 4:30. So they knew they had been out for quite a while, and walmart is only like 2 minutes away-I don't see why they didn't do anything about it. And while this has happened at least 3-4 times to us, they don't offer much of an apology about it. More like too bad, so sad. Sides are ok, but Mac & cheese is just noodles with velveeta poured over, and the portions are minimal even on the higher priced menu items. Sauce is good, but it's left on the table in a squeeze bottle-so don't expect it to be warm. You may have to ask for that. They also keep a small selection of desserts by the hostess stand; apple pie, cookies, brownies or whatever and the first time we went in there were several portions of apple pie in there covered with mold. read more

I was so glad when this new outpost opened! I pass it each day going to and from work, and it's so great to be able to dash in and grab a pound of chopped brisket or pulled pork to take home when I'm not in the mood to cook. The meat is cooked to perfection. The dining room is always spotlessly clean and the waitstaff is super friendly. Took a co-worker here because he said he had never had BBQ. I let him down by taking him here for the ribs. Maybe it was a bad day but they were EXTREMELY DRY! I HAD to use BBQ sauce to make them edible.. Great Atmosphere. Wont be going back for the BBQ though. Maybe a burger and a beer. read more

Service here is great! My family loves the fried pickles, homemade soups and desserts. Just had the Turkey Melt and I am stuffed. Prices are average for eating out -$10.00 per person. Coldest beer in town with great mixed drinks. Many TV's to watch all the games on. We eat here once a week. Recommend and enjoy! read more

When we want BBQ this is the first place we think. Love the potato chip appetizer smothered in cheese. Last time we were there we took a picture of it and sent it to the kids in Atlanta. The decor is BEAUTIFUL in here! However, we've only been once. The chopped beef has a lot of fat in it and they only have one type of bbq sauce. The mac and cheese is weird. They have very little cheese in it and I guess for what they are lacking they putt shredded cheese on top of it. It's family owned...the owner has pictures of her kids everywhere. If you wanna change up from Dickies bbq or the Longhorn bbq off 287, you might try it at least once. The baked beans are super good. read more

The service is great. The employees are friendly and take good care of customers. I had the Daniel plate which is the choice of 2 meats and 2 sides for roughly $15.00 The price alone almost sent me away. The portions were small and the meat was cooked horribly. The brisket was dry and tough and the ribs were tiny and again dry and tough. In my opinion the owners need to hire some real BBQ cooks. And learn that prices and portions matter. The food is horrible. And the portions are tiny. The price is huge for what you get. If I could leave a zero stars that would not be low enough. read more

If you come to drink alcohol then it's your kinda of place. If you come expecting Texas BBQ...well, not exactly. Beautiful, well appointed restaurant, but the BBQ is more reminiscent of something I once ate in Missouri. I went during the lunch hour and there was only three or four other customers, so I really can't judge the wait staff, although I will say that the one I had was friendly. Worst service I have ever had. This was my second trip....the first we sat at the bar for 15 minutes never being acknowledged while the owner and the bartender stood at the end of the bar chatting and giggling so we left. This wasn't much better. 7 minutes before being acknowledged at our table and 14 minutes before our drinks came. Drinks were always empty before refilled and sat empty for several minutes. The food isn't really very good either. A Texas bbq joint should be able to make brisket that isn't dry as a bone. Won't be back. read more

First time here and we brought the kiddos. Very prompt and polite service. The BBQ was excellent. Despite it being pricy (about $50 for my 4 person family) I'll definitely be back. Great ambiance and the food was great. I had ribs/sausage with onion strings and fries. My wife had the brisket tacos. As far as BBQ goes I usually just get chopped beef in either a sandwich or a baked potato so I can attest that the chopped beef and the sides are good. The beer is cold and everything is reasonably priced. read more

My husband and I pass this place once a week on our way to our favorite restaurant (Rising Sun Hibachi Grill, holla!) and we always talk about eventually trying this place. We skipped hibachi tonight to finally come in, and I have to say we were definitely disappointed. I got the all you can eat ribs with macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and Texas toast. When our waitress sat my plate down I could tell just by looking at them that they were incredibly over cooked. I doused them in BBQ sauce but there was no point, those babies were horrible. There was absolutely NO flavor and I just couldn't get over how bad they were. While I had the option of eating all I wanted, I maybe ate 3 of the 8 on my plate. I will say that I really enjoyed the potato salad. It's hard to find a place that does amazing home style potato salad, but I really loved it. The macaroni and cheese was pretty good as well. My husband had the 2 meat plate with sliced beef, turkey, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes. Both meats were cold the minute they came to the table. The brisket he said, was ok, nothing spectacular. The turkey would have been good if it were at least lukewarm. He said the mashed potatoes had no flavor and he ate one bite. 2 stars for the potato salad and the fact that my dog loved the leftovers! read more

Went for dinner on a Wednesday. Service was slow to non-existent, food was pretty bad. Don't waste your time with this one. It is not a "true BBQ" place IMO. I had a sliced beef plate and it was 3 skinny pieces of cold brisket, with warm potato salad. My oldest had the BBQ Bacon burger and it was awful... youngest had ribs which were flavorless. was in the neighborhood so we decided to give it a try and get inside a place for some a/c since it was 99+ outside... as soon as we walked in the door a blast of warm air hit us and my first thought was "is the a/c not working"? so we sat down right away and when the waitress came over i asked bout the a/c, she said since she has been working there that it NEVER gets cool inside and it just cant keep up in the summer??? well i almost decided to leave but we were already there and a lil hungry so we ordered, food came kinda quickly which made me think there was no prep/cooking involved, and i was right, the sides that were supposed to be cold were warm and the warm was cool..... the brisket and sausage was cooked but it was barely warm..... we boxed it all up and took it home so we could warm it more and put the tater salad in the frig for a bit.... the wait staff seems very friendly but the food temps killed the mood!!! and for a sat eve we were expecting the place to be busy but there were only four table in use?? anyhoo unless someone specifically suggest this place to go we will prob not be back!! read more
