Now these are donuts done right. Having tried their maple round and chocolate sprinkles cake donut, I instantly became a fan. Thanks go to my SB local coworker who bought the office Eller's donuts. Always looking for donut places around my uncle's retirement home at Maravilla. Eller's was pretty close. This is January 2025, but they still have Covid distancing going on in the store. They make it so you have to stay three or 4 feet away from the donut cases. This is a negative for the ambience for me. Could be a positive positive for you though... A bummer is no fountain drinks,,,,, just bottles and cans..... The lady behind the counter was nice... The donuts were actually pretty good! The owner was harassing us for walking into the business with a service animal. He kept staring at us and telling us a dog was not allowed. I said she is a service animal and is trained to perform tasks related to a disability. I explained to him that he was allowed to ask two questions and I answered those. He kept staring at me and then a patron began to continue to harass, as well. And called our service animal a thing. We had to leave because it was such a hostile environment. read more

Dropped by on a slow morning and decide not to ever come back. Very rude and ugly service, and the transaction felt rushed. Walked in and dint even get a good morning, when asked about prices was responded with snappiness from the man. I said out loud "oooh so many choices to choose from" and was met with a rushed tone from the man asking me again after asking once, 'what do you want' conveying that we should know what we want asap. Coffee is terrible here/ they don't fill it up all the way for their price and their donuts are okay- could research and have some better out in SB! If you're looking for that classic donut shop feel, this place has got it. They have $6 day old boxed donuts which are a great deal, and a big selection of donuts and drinks. My cinnamon twist was delicious and fluffy and my fiancé enjoyed his classic apple fritter; tasted the same as he remembered from being a kid. 3 stars because it's an older building with random Thai food items for sale since the owners owns the Thai restaurant nextdoor. When you look Ellers up it says they accept contactless payment but they don't. Accidentally left my wallet at home but saw on yelp they accept contactless payment, went over there and they don't. A bit of wasted time. I had dropped my kids off and thought a donut sounded nice. Not a huge deal but they should update this so others don't waste their time as well. The donuts are fine, comparable to any other donut shop around town, except Hook& Press- that's the REAL place to go if you want an incredible donut with good, fresh ingredients and amazing flavor. Ordered some donuts, thai coffee for the wife and I ordered a peach boba. I will say they keep the place clean. Some lady was wiping down/cleaning. The boba balls were super fresh because the bottom of my drink was warm. I personally didn't like the boba because they were too chewy (too fresh), but the wife who doesn't like boba liked them because they were soft and chewy. The flavor of the peach reminded me of the Asian peach flavored drinks/candy. I really enjoyed the flavor and would totally get thier ice blended drink again. As for the donuts...I was honestly too sugared out to try the day of so I can't give a good donut review. The strawberry glazed donut didn't have a strong strawberry flavor and the glazed donut was not as soft as milpas st (as noted I ate it about a day and a half after buying it). We did order Thai food from the Thai place in the same plaza and their menu is the same...I guess we could have saved time and ordered it at ellers. read more

This is one of my favorite donut places. It's a no frills, straight up donut shop with some extras to purchase. I know a few places that contract with them for donuts (Lighthouse Coffee and Cottage Hospital). I've never had an issue with the quality of donuts I purchase. My kids love coming here and picking out a donut to eat. The parking lot is small so parking can be a slight issue but people come in and out all the time. read more

The morning after a fun night, my housemates and I woke up craving donuts, and I'm so glad I found Eller's because it totally hit the spot! On top of the reasonable prices for the unique donuts (I got the blueberry fritter, and my housemates got a glazed donut and a chocolate bar donut), they also had a Thai lunch/dinner menu and a small selection of Thai groceries! Having lived in South East Asia for a portion of my life, it was so great finding Thai MAMA instant noodles which I haven't had in years :) Definitely will be coming back here in the near future! The apple fritters are the best ever. light and crispy on the outside and like cake on the inside. had a bit everyday over 4 days and savored it. They sell and advertise bagel w/cream cheese and bagel sandwiches but don't offer "bagel service". I asked for a bagel toasted with cream cheese, and their response was we don't do that but they could offer a side of cream cheese with a bagel. I asked if they could at least cut the bagel in half and their response was "we don't do bagel service". They aren't welcoming/friendly and the no bagel service is strange to me. I get they must be understaffed but you can't step in the back for less than a minute and slice a bagel?? I only come here because it's on my way to my kids school and to work and im disappointed every time. Wow. I was surprised at their Thai menu and mini market the first time I passed by and decided to come back and give it a try. I heard the woman on the phone ordering a Tom yum soup with chicken for pick-up, and the owner Peeta sounded like she knew exactly who it was and how she liked her soup prepared. I decided to order the same thing with shrimp, it came out to $15 for a large order and a 20 minute wait. No big deal, I'm getting my oil Changed across the way. Got my soup, she said come back again to try everything else. Got back to the office and opened it up...holy smokes did I just find the best Tom yum soup I have ever had? I'm Asian (surprise!) , and I have had a lot of Tom yum soup in my time from San Francisco to San Diego. This was fire. I mean, fresh ginger? Fresh lemon grass? Fresh galingol ?!??!!!!! Longtime establishment, still the same great donuts. My family lived in the general vicinity for a few years when I was a child and I have fond memories of coming by here on a Sunday morning. The restaurant is actually pretty spacious and there are a number of tables for dining. It was around that time when they started serving bagels as well but I have yet to try them. I gravitate toward those donuts! I'm happy that this childhood favorite of mine is still around and I'm still happy to patronize them. The donuts are still as great as ever - something about their classic glazed really sets them apart from the competition. They are incredibly fluffy and totally melt in your mouth. A true indulgence. The parking is pretty tight but I've never really had an issue as I go early enough before the other businesses in the plaza have a chance to open. It's visible from the freeway but in a strange section of Noleta, and you've gotta get off at the nondescript 154 exit to access. Completely worth it, though. read more

The buttermilk was so totally obscene- it weighed at least a 1/4 pound and the flavor was that thick rich buttermilk flavor that Chicago so sorely needs to learn a lesson in. Plain donut - crust is better-than-average, but still in the middle range. Delicious dough. I could gorge on these. Maple is okay. Lighter crust, heavy glaze, decent flavor. Yeast are average. Overall, a very good middle-of-the-road donut for people who don't like greasy donuts, but don't like a lightweight taste, either. read more

Bottom Line: Poor service isn't a good recipe for much other than researching another establishment This place (used) to have a special place in my heart as my dad who was a firefighter, always came home on Saturday mornings with a bag of doughnuts from here. So there was always a kind of romantic feeling about it. Personally, I have been coming here off and on for years. My son recently started getting his hair cut next door so if he behaves we all get something to share. Since we have started going here on a regular basis we have experienced some pretty bad service and the last time that we went, we just stood in front of the glass case for about 10 minutes. Nobody talked to us, nobody greeted us.... one of the ladies was behind the counter doing something. More and more people started to pour in and I was afraid of losing my spot in line so I tried to ask the her if I could order something and she made some kind of motion to the back of the shop and a few minutes later, another lady came up from the back and took our order. It doesn't cost anything to be nice to people. Customer service is a good thing and it makes people feel good when they come into your store. If you don't care to be nice to people, they just won't come back - that seems pretty simple. Oh and they have doughnuts and they are your average sugar/bread situation. Nothing special. read more

Rude!!! We just left there after a horrible experience. We've been coming here for 2 years once a week. Today we had the worst customer service we've ever had. They've always been somewhat inconsiderate but today takes the cake!! My son accidentally spilled his chocolate milk and They actually reprimanded my 3 year old! He started crying and kept apologizing to them while they tisked and spoke in Vietnamese to each other shaking their heads.
