This place was nice until I notice that they were charging a little more than the given total, like recently I was given a total and what was charged on my card was 29 cent more. Yes it's just cents but they do add up, I'm not sure how long has this been going on. Additionally, one time I went in and got my usual order. I arrived in a hurry on the prowl for some donuts and donut holes. It was a bit before 8 and there was no line, and 2 workers. I quickly ordered both a chocolate sprinkled and pink sprinkled donut. I also bought 2 dozen donut holes! Needless to say, I was so happy with all my purchases especially since the staff was quick to bag all my items up. I've grabbed Spudnuts several times for work now and everyone asks where they're from because they love them! I'm not sure how these compare to other Spudnuts around town but I'll continue to visit this one since it's only 5 mins away from me. They have the usual variety of donuts - mainly raised and a few cake donut options. They also offer sandwiches and smoothies which I have yet to try. It's located next to Wendy's in Old Town Goleta - the parking lot is really tiny and is shared by multiple businesses. To exit the parking lot you have to go all the way into the back and turn around. read more

I understand that California is known for not having good bagels, but this was a new level. I almost don't know if I can classify this as a bagel considering it was less than an inch thick. I ordered the cheddar jalapeño bagel with jalapeño cream cheese and received this squished bagel even after waiting in line for a decent amount of time. The bagel was warm and toasted well but seemed stepped on and had no fluffy chewiness.....yikes. Cream cheese was good but they were very stingy! Walking home from getting a coffee we had an urge to try a donut from here. The crumb topped cinnamon roll caught our eye. Since it was so big we decided to share. It came out to $3 for 1 donut. It was big so we went for it. The first couple of bites were disappointing as the donut seemed stale. But from about the middle on it seemed way more moist. Best donut spot in town, I'm not sure what everyone else's reviews are complaining about. It's a donut spot, I'm not going to review their juices or whatever else because honestly I've never tried it. Because I go for the donuts and they are.... again THE BEST. I will say the coffee is good too, just don't go trying to order a latte or a double pump whatever. It's coffee and they have cream and sugar that.... guess what?! You put in yourself to your taste! Solid spot but be weary about donut availability on weekdays. I suspect some donut fiend comes by in the morning and takes everything that is good. Maybe not however because they probably just move the good stuff to Isla Vista. I rarely see this location heavily trafficked. What kind of donut business runs out of donuts by 8:30AM? Spudnuts in Old town Goleta, that's who! What an interesting approach to business. Anyways, I will clarify that they weren't completely out. They had like 10-15 standard donuts left but the majority were chocolate bars, maybe 2 jelly filled. Absolutely no maple, sugar twists or glazed left. How am I supposed to pick up a dozen for my office with no variety? When I asked if more were coming out anytime soon, I got a "no, this is it." Seriously? You're open 24 hours and don't have donuts on rotation in the oven? What a waste of time. 2 stars because I've used them once before and the donuts were "fine." Likely won't be back here. read more

A new donut joint that recently opened less than a year or so. It is opened 24 HOURS so I am able to go during the wee hours of the night when I am craving for delicious sweet fluffy goodness. The ambiance of the place gives off a comfortable kicked back mood with seating inside or outside if it is a nice day or evening. There is a wide variety of drinks and coffee along with two showcases filled with SPUDNUTS! A few of my favorites include: the french cruller (light and heavenly), any sized type of glazed donut or even the cinnamon buns or rolls! yummmm!! NOTE: Ask to put any donut in the microwave for 15 seconds. OMG. IT is a MUST try- although it is great the way it is, the microwave tip helps the taste buds and heavenly feeling come faster when the donut enters your mouth. read more

Open 24/7, that's good, but unlike a dunkin donuts or the like, they aren't making donuts 24/7. I visited on a Sunday night at 8pm and business was steady but there were only about 3 varieties in the case. The selection was limited to glazed twist, maple bar and sugar donut. That's about all there was. The lady behind the counter said they wouldn't be making donuts until like 4am. Who knows when the ones in the case were made. If you're in Goleta and craving a simple donut, you really can't go wrong here. I know that the Spudnuts franchise has been in SB for decades, and know that I can order a quality confection each time I patronize one of their locations. As is the case for most mom-and-pop donut shops, the decor is a bit outdated and nothing to write home about. That said, one does not come for the dining room itself, but rather, the food offered. I can always count on Spudnuts for a vast assortment of donuts, including the once-lauded "cronut" croissant-style donut. I've also been happy with their bagel selection, and know that the woman behind the counter will make a selection of breakfast sandwiches before your eyes. Ehhhhhh, the Spudnuts in Isla Vista is way better. Donut shops are supposed to be a place to get a quick, cheap, fast snack, with options for coffee and tea, and if its decor says 2010s instead of dingy 1990s faux-wood tabletop, a place to study with free wifi. The donuts here are inexpensive, but that's about where the good things stop. The sack of donut holes I bought was stale and not fully glazed over. Where there would typically be trays of chocolate and vanilla glazed goodness, the bakery display was definitely more empty than I thought it would be. As other Yelpers have mentioned, the donuts you want might not be available when you get there. They have free wifi, but I wasn't able to log in. After asking the woman behind the counter, she said that the owner doesn't tell their employees the passwords. Not sure what the point is of having guest wifi if they don't plan to share it with paying customers, or put up a sign with the wifi name and password like other cafes do. There was also an "out of order" sign on the restroom, but a bus driver and another customer were able to enter and use it with no problems. I love the doughnuts here but there isn't much more I can say that I love about this place. The service isn't spectacular and their other pastries and drinks are so-so (is recommend getting coffee elsewhere). While it's awesome that they're open 24 hours so that you can get your middle-of-the-night-doughnut-fix, they often run out of most doughnuts just half way through the day. However, If you're going to a morning meeting and looking for sweet treats to share with your colleagues- this place is great. The cronut (mix between croissant & doughnut) is the true star of this establishment. But again, get there early if you want to nab one! Excellent donuts, even better people. When there was a fire on N. Fairview Ave the Santa Barbara Wildlife Care Network needed to evacuate all animals at the facility. Staff and volunteers worked through the night. The next morning at around 8AM they were all upset and exhausted. When I called Spudnuts in Goleta and asked if they would donate 2 dozen donuts for these people they said "Yes of course". John, the store manager, is very kind. Their croissant breakfast sandwiches are my fav! I tried it with the bagel before and it's just not the same without that soft flaky croissant. Our office comes here often to get these sandwiches for our morning meetings, would definitely recommend. The donuts are a little pricier than other donut shops in town however. Tip, if you order a coffee you have to remember to grab the cup yourself which is strange to me. They put different size cups out but I saw people paying for small coffees and taking large cups. Called ahead and the two (2) dozen assortment was waiting for me to quickly bypass everyone in line at 0615 in the AM for my pick-up and was out the door within 2-3 minutes. Parking is tough and the lines in the AM are long but they are all worth it (starting calling ahead last week and it made the trip there so much more convenient and I was able to pick up my order, negotiate turning around in the "one-way in and one-way out" parking lot and was back on the road again within a total 5 minutes. read more

Spudnuts is only okay; the donuts are acceptable but overpriced. ​I didn't find the selection to be very impressive. But hey, it's hard to go wrong with donuts. The only other complaint I have is about the service. As a college student, I needed quarters for my building's laundry machine so I decided to buy like three dollars worth of donuts, give the worker a five dollar bill, and get my change back in quarters. The worker would only give me two quarters back, though (the rest in a bill and other change.) The donuts are inconsistent at times and some are better than others. Though a two star rating seems low, Spudnuts is still the best donut shop in Goleta. Oh wait, are there any others though? No, but donuts at Ana's Bakery are not chewy or tasty. A Spudnuts donut has that slightly crisp exterior and a sweet glaze. The softness and doughiness fluctuates. Overall, Spudnuts is fairly standard for a donut. Some other items here are outright not good. The cinnamon roll lacks cinnamon sauce, glaze, and a chewy texture. Better to avoid this one in particular here. The coffee is also terrible and yes, service is not friendly. The cold sandwiches here are fine if you want one with croissant as the bread, but better options are down the road. read more

For being one of the few spots here in town with donuts, this place does a hell of a job. I live right down the street from this place and man do I love it. Shoutout to the staff for always giving me my double cups and also they make a killer donut. I went to their rival Krispy Kreme the other day and ordered some donuts to try them out because it's been ages since I been to K.K. And honestly it is trash compared to Spudnuts. I love that this spots open 24/7. Come in here at 3am and they're still making fresh donuts in the back and just from that I trust the quality of this place. Went there 7:30 pm, may 14. Hispanic Woman was on her phone, acted like we were disturbing her business. Open-mouthed caughed on donuts. Was super rude and ruined our otherwise good night. Do not support this business. She probably drops items on the floor and puts it out to sell. Horrible!!!! To top it off it was 9 bucks for two donuts and a milk. Both our donuts were stale and tasted of oil. It shames me that companies like this are even in business. I was refused boba because the younger Hispanic worker "didn't think they had anymore boba" this has happened twice.
