I'm glad I shared it with my sister. The portion was generous. The carrot puree, red rice & lentils complimented the pork so effortlessly. The pork was tendered and flavorful. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the dish. Delicious! Huckleberry is a regional favorite and a thing in Wyoming because they grow wild in the area. I had to try the Huckleberry Cosmo. Snake River grill has been around for a while and it's designed with that log cabin, woodsy lodge vibe. I love that old world cabin-y feel and they nailed it. Very beautiful space to be in and different from most restaurants in the area. Service -- mixed bag here. Our server was very kind. But she disappeared several times throughout the night. There was a solid 20+ minute lull between apps and entrees -- longer than normal -- which would have been more palatable if a server stopped by once or twice. We sat with an empty table, empty water glasses, and empty drinks. We had to stand up to finally flag down another waiter. Overall - this place is generally regarded as running a very sound operation -- so hard to say what was going on, but definitely put a real damper on the experience. Food - we had 4 total dishes, 2 great, 1 okay, 1 not great. We started with the gnocchi which was prepared in a zucchini cream type sauce. I'm not a big gnocchi guy - usually too heavy for me -- but this summery preparation drew me in. It was stupendous. The zucchini sauce with deliciously fresh zucchini chunks and perfectly delicate gnocchi was an overall excellent dish. We were licking the bowl. For entrees - we had the the spinach papardelle with a rabbit ragu which was also excellent. Rabbit ragu isn't something you find everywhere and it was beautifully executed. The papardelle was infused with spinach and had a perfect chew. Amazing dish. The not so amazing - the bavette steak. The meat itself was good and this is a great cut that's lesser found on menus. The problem was the smoke on it. It was egregious. I don't mind a little bit of smoke on my meat but this tasted like it had been cooked over a wood smoker for the last 2 weeks. It was hard to get past the smoke and neither my wife or i could really eat it. Very surprising that with such a high level of smoke, the menu or servers wouldn't call this out. Smoke is definitely polarizing and not something everybody likes. The whole dish was ruined by it. Big miss. For dessert we had the fruit crumble. The fruit was a blend of several fresh fruits -- delicious -- but the proportion of crumble to fruit was way way off. May sound like nitpicking -- but these are the details that matter and separate an okay dish from a great one. There was a very thin layer of crumble on top (which was great) and below was about 2 inches of jam / preserve. The crumble was gone after a couple bites and we were left with a swimming pool of jam. Less jam / more crumble and you have a top notch dessert on your hands. Overall I'd give this a true 3.5 stars. Ambiance was closer to 5 stars, service 3, food 4. Definitely go check it out

Some of our group stayed here while others headed out to eat, but this was the perfect little spot to relax, people watch, and hang out with the locals. They've got pool tables, bar seating on both sides, and round tables if you just want to sit, chat, and enjoy your drinks. Definitely a fun stop while visiting the area! The portions here are definitely generous, and one meal was plenty for two people for us. One thing that really stood out was how creative the food seems to be. This doesn't feel like a restaurant simply following the standard pub menu. Several of the dishes sounded like things they've experimented with, developed, and really made their own. There seems to be a lot of creativity and personality behind the menu. The sauce served with our Reuben was especially good. It reminded me of a cross between Thousand Island and a Big Mac-style sauce, but with its own flavor. Whatever it was, it was top-notch and went perfectly with the sandwich. The atmosphere is definitely that of a true bar/pub. We aren't drinkers, and alcohol is obviously a major focus here, from the decor to the overall feel of the restaurant. If you're not a drinker, you may feel a little out of place in the main bar area, so that is something to know going in. That being said, they do have a separate side dining room away from the main bar area, as well as a patio that looked like it would be a wonderful place to sit, eat, and enjoy the beautiful Wyoming scenery. The building itself is definitely older and a little worn down. It appeared clean on the surface, but you can tell the restaurant has seen a lot of use over the years and could probably benefit from some updating and a little extra attention in certain areas. At the same time, the rustic, well-used feel does fit the personality of a longtime local pub. Our one meal came to $25.68, so it is certainly on the pricier side for a sandwich and fries. This was our third summer in a row in the Daniel/Merna/Pinedale area but our first time giving GRB a try due to a few people saying the slaw dawg was good. The first night we arrived in Daniel I went in and a lady served me at the bar and she was attentive and somewhat friendly. A couple nights later I went back with my wife. Nan (the owner) was running the bar and cooking. Nan is hands down the sweetest lady we've met is Sublette County, and that's saying a lot as most everyone you meet in the Sublette County is super friendly. Nan will guide you through the menu, tell you about the area, and give you recommendations on things to do. She runs the place with a smile, even with the bar/restaurant being busy (and it does get busy). When we go back this winter, or next summer, we will definitely go to GRB a few times. My boys loved the Shirley temples and Roy rogers with a heaping handful of cherries! Please know that the building is over 100 years old and it looks old. But it's not dirty, I saw it being cleaned and mopped while we were there. Also keep in mind that it's a bar frequented by locals who support local business establishments and life long friends.
