First time for high tea at Elixir Tea House. It was great. We had a large group for a bridal shower and they were very accommodating and welcoming. I took my husband out for a date night and we had the High Tea experience. It included a variety of pastries and sandwiches. The ambiance was perfect for us, and the venue is quiet. There are also more private rooms for groups. The staff at the tea house were helpful and kind. Of course, the teas were amazing. One tip would be to check out their decaf menu if you are visiting later in the evening. Their selection is delicious, and if one flavor isn't your cup of tea, the High Tea package lets you get a new tea instead. It's unlimited if you get the package. I was recently at a high tea with four other ladies. We were in the Alice in Wonderland room which was absolutely adorable. The food and the tea was awesome. There were many different teas to choose from and you could try as many as you liked, caffeinated and decaffeinated. The only suggestions I would make is to somehow label the teapots so you know which type of tea was in the pot. All the pots looked the same. I would also like to suggest tea warmers to keep the tea hot on the tables. Tea is wonderful when it's really hot but it cools fast when it's just in the tea pots. I also thought the servers were too quick to take away our dirty plates and flatware. I was working on the dessert pieces when I found I didn't have a fork or spoon to eat with. You need to make a reservation. Started off with a small salad and then started with the layered plates when hot scones were served. The scones were light and buttery and sweet. They have a nice choice of teas from caffeinated to non and herbal teas. Family member loved the caramel chia and the raspberry cotton candy tea. The owners are so nice as well. The lavender coconut tea was tasty. You get a pot of hot tea (about 2 cups) The rooms have lost their way. Alice in wonderland room was the cleanest and stayed with the theme. Great room for a child's birthday. The rooms are in need of cleaning and redecorating, especially the furniture. The decor in the rooms started out with a theme then got confusing ie: the vintage or Victorian room had a Chinese statue on the floor. Just too many things that don't go with the theme. Bookshelves are a mess. The outside front should be attractive. It too needs to be cleaned up. Just a bunch of plants pushed against the building wall with a bench. Was in town visiting for funsies with my boyfriend and my mother because my mom insisted we take a mini vacay and use her PTO before she retired. It was a fun vacay and I must say, this tea spot was one of my favorite highlights!!! It was definitely a cafe like no other! Think of it like going to a karaoke bar and having your own room with your group, but without the loud music and fun chaos. Instead, it is the opposite -- calm music, comfy couches and chairs, and no one singing off key hehe. They offer a VERY WIDE variety of teas and they're served by the pot so we shared the Magic Moon and my mom got a cappuccino for some extra caffeine. My boyfriend wanted some dessert so we all shared a Malenka cake and Blueberry Muffin. Right before the ride home, I ordered a boba to go and I was skeptical at first because it's not really a boba shop but a tea shop that happens to serve boba... but to my surprise, the boba was good for a not-primarily-boba place! Unfortunately, it had been some time that had passed so I forget which boba I ordered. Overall, I like the uniqueness of this place and I appreciate the calmness before driving back home. I must update my review since it's been over four years. These last couple weekends we have been here two Saturdays in a row. We love this place and it's so comfy and homey. We love that they have separate rooms for groups of people. There's 6 rooms with different types of themes or decor. They also have a front open area and an outside back area. The first time we came back last week we sat in the Asian theme room with the japanese cherry blossoms. I like the decor in there the most. Yesterday we were in the the chill room which is the beach room. This will be our fave room because of the couch areas being the most comfy. They have bigger rooms with a fireplace and another with a round table for a bigger group. The outside area is nice to sit at night and listen to someone singing or playing music. I didn't realize someone was there at first. In regards to their teas, I've tried their fruit ice tea, their pineapple Chocolate tea and tiramisu tea and my husband had their Apple strudel tea and their caramel chai tea. They have nice desserts too. My husband loves the caramel chocolate cake and this time he wouldn't let me share so I got my own sugar free chocolate cake. They also have coffees and wine and boba drinks, hot and cold tea, and light bites and sandwiches. They have lots of games as well that you can keep entertained with your group whether it's a family, friends, or a couple. Everyone working here is quite welcoming and helpful! Went with a family member for high tea. They have a public area up front and cozy, private tea rooms in the back. Super cute place! The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their tea offerings. They have 80+ teas on their menu! The food served as part of the high tea package was really really good. This cute little tea shop it smells so good when you walk in all the flowers and leaves are loose in jars. Teas steep for five minutes and you get to pick out how you want your mixture of flavors you get to sample the smells they give you a lesson on where it came from how it's processed They give suggestions on what mixes well together. You pick out and decide what you want then they take you back to one of mini rooms each one is decorated differently with with sound systems, very relaxing and calming to have a nice conversation with your friends and family while your Tea steeps for five minutes, they do have tea party size sandwiches and desserts but we just wanted to relax from walking around and traveling and exploring the little town before going out again. Service is amazing. They bring the tea to your room. They checked on you. the owner waited on us along with a family member that took good care of us. They're extremely knowledgeable, pleasant. Native Sarasotan here... until recently, I had no idea this little gem was nestled mid-block on Hillview Avenue. A great experience if you are looking to slow down and savor a good cup of tea or light bites. The private booths/rooms are perfect for client meetings (or other times when you wish to avoid prying ears/eyes.) Attentive & knowledgeable wait staff - frankly, the tea selection is a bit overwhelming for a novice like me but they make it easy for you. I'm a milk tea fan, since I moved here from the UK. It's a challenge for me to find milk tea place as I am particular with my drinks. I found this cute place while walking and decided to try with my friend. The place looks lovely it has different themes to where you wanna sit. The interesting thing is if you look outside it just looks like an ordinary tea shop but once you go in you realized it has a huge space and has a cool interior. I loved how cool they made the interior. At the time my friend and I got to the place it was just us as it was early and after our shift, so we're able to choose where we wanna sit. We decided to sit on a 4 seater small space with a bookshelf besides us. It was a cute and cozy space, it also gave a bit of privacy with the divider. The drinks we have was also good, I got lavender-lychee which it wasn't on the menu, but the lady who made our drinks is so kind enough to accommodate my request. She hadn't tried making it before before but it came out great. ( this will be my go to milktea flavour here hehehe) The staff was really friendly and nice. I liked that she wasn't scared to try to mix up flavors for me even though it's not in the menu. I'm surely gonna go back and order more of the lavender-lychee milktea whenever I stop by. read more

A delightful little place. We had a group of four. The decor and tea sets were all beautiful. There was a cozy atmosphere and great decor. For $50 a person we had unlimited high quality teas with an assortment of black, green, white, herbal, fruit tea, spiced teas, and fruit teas. Coffees are also available. All were high quality. It was accompanied by an assortment of sandwiches and pastries, and scones, along with a glass of champagne to start. Gluten free options are available at no extra charge. I had the hot strawberry tea & an Oreo mouse cake & they were very delicious! The next time I went with my friends for my birthday. Horrible experience with its reservation system and its customer service that totally ruined my wife's birthday high tea. Long story short--I called a week ago to make a reservation for high tea at 3:30 pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Gave all the details and was told the manager would call me back to confirm. No call. Day of reservation I figured I should call back to ensure we had the reservation, especially since we had a 50 minute drive to Sarasota. Called immediately after the place opened, to discover for the first time that I was dealing with a "remote" reservation service and they had no record of our reservation and had no means of direct contact with the tea room. Gave all details AGAIN and was told they had to "transfer" the information to the tea room and a manager would call me back soonest. No call again --until we were 20 minutes into our drive north to the tea room. Told for the first time by the actual manager that they simply COULD NOT accommodate our reservation for a party of 2 at 3:30 on a Tuesday afternoon on my wife's birthday. So when could we be accommodated?? Not before tomorrow at the earliest!!! Such is the quality of its reservation system and its customer service! Nice job, folks --love that you claim to be "just like home"! Look elsewhere, folks, lest you be screwed like we were. read more

Nice concept. Yea was ok. Taro smoothie had too much ice but was pretty and the boba was very fresh. The cookie cake was very beautiful. The server made a scrunched face at every ordinary request, shuck killed the experience. The room with the orchids was more my style than the Buddha room with salt bricks. When the room became available I asked to move there, And she once again scratched her face and moaned about having to clean it which means takeoff the tablecloth and put another tablecloth. She seems do you have a bad attitude about just doing her job. And if business like this come out where their rooms for you to be by yourself or with friends with a bit of privacy and with ambience, you want to relax and feel good, and might even say, feel a little pampered and have a specialty with a special dessert etc. what you don't want is some sour Puss making faces at every ordinary request that kill your experience. For their menu items I'd give it Area four or five stars for the Celine cookie cake, a one star for the taro smoothie because it had no taste, but I five stars for the bow but it was so fresh in it, and I expected it to you to be a way better quality with much more rose flavor so I'll give that like a two or three stars, and the service I give her minus one star, so for the overall experience I probably get it to class or three stars. It's been a long time since I've had a proper afternoon tea & I was not disappointed. It was a little weird trying to make a reservation for tea for two since it took a call back (after speaking to someone live) to get confirmation, another call to get a deposit & a final call reconfirming the reservation. Upon arrival on said date, we were greeted warmly by the hostess & shown to a cute small decorated room that I was delighted to find out we had to ourselves. The sofa we sat on was comfortable & cushy with plenty of pillows to choose from for support, a great place to sit while partaking in a chat & nibble & tea. We were offered champagne to start but upon finding out my companion was pregnant, a champagne flute filled with juice was offered which we appreciated. We perused the wonderful selection of various tea offerings & after much indecision ordered our own teapots which came not too long after ordering. This was followed by two 3-tiered trays filled with scrumptious tea sandwiches, lovely scones & madelines and a tempting array of wicked mini desserts. Everything was delicious, the teas were of excellent quality, the ambience relaxing & the service was wonderful. The cost was what I would expect for a proper tea & it was well worth it.
