A true hidden gem in downtown SRQ. Great ambiance, decent food and good service! Shoogie Boogie is in Towles Court (near Indigenous). It's hidden in the open along with art studios and is easy to miss. +++ Ambiance is understated European café with a delightful garden. Their indoor café is charming but it's their Garden Room, an outdoor café that I adore. It's where you could share moments and where time could standstill. Although so different and continents away, yet their GR reminds me of cafe experiences along the Mediterranean and Adriatic seas. Perhaps it's because it's unconventional, shabby chic with scattered planters or it's semi-sheltered from the world beyond the walls. It's perfect for celebratory events, dates and catch up time with friends and even some alone time. ++ Food is better. Mostly, I've gotten their salads as they are fresh, tasty and CLEAN. Yet if SB didn't have the GR, it probably wouldn't make into my rotation. + Price is reasonable for the value. ++ Service is better with attention to detail. = Parking is tight....mostly street and a couple of free spots for the entire Towles Court shops. SB is a memory maker....hidden gem of a space that albeit brief, find respite from the mundane! MY RATINGS - - - Inhumane - - Disgusted - Don't bother = Missed the Mark + Good ++ Better +++ Edible...where have you been all my life!

My aunt hosted a surprise baby shower for me here at Shoogie Boogies in August. The preparation the venue put in for the event was so stunning! From the lights and flowers to the overall ambience it was an absolutely perfect day with family and friends and delicious food. I highly recommend hosting your event here, you will not be disappointed! I couldn't have asked for anything more.

    Magical atmosphere.

I recently attended a bridal shower luncheon for my Niece at Shoogie Boogies. My sister wanted it to be special and oh my was it ever. The owner took such great care in making the room so magical with every detail. She poured for the pre luncheon toast outside in the garden area, and gave us the time and space we needed to create a special moment for my niece. The food was delicious. I honestly felt as if the owner had invited us into her home. Each time I have been to Shoogie Boogies has been a wonderful experience!

I've been wanting to come to Shoogie Boogies for quite some time! The day finally came! I treated one of my close girlfriends to lunch here for her birthday. The sandwiches were pretty good. The salad and soup was delicious. Great place to spill the tea. Dessert was bomb. The service was fantastic! Definitely a place you need to experience in SRQ.

What a wonderful little beautiful place! My parents/SO and my 2yr old daughter were hungry after going to the Sarasota botanical gardens and we happened upon this gem. The ambiance and setting (typically they do wedding /baby showers) were absolutely magical. They also serve an AMAZING lunch. We didn't have reservations, and just happened to go on a day they didn't have the place (or one of their rooms) reserved for an event. The owner was our server and she was lovely, she took the time to tend to our every need and want and was so nice with my 2yr old, making sure she was well attended to. The music was perfect and the food, like I said....fresh, and tasted amazing. I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story. We will be back. PS. Katheryn and the staff at Shoogie Boogies were wonderful. My out of town friends were amazed how lovely every thing was. From the beautiful flowers and their fragrances, to the delicious food and the presentation. It felt like we were at a cafe in France having a delicious brunch and enjoying each other's company. I've been to Shoogie Boogies several times and I always manage to discover something new and beautiful l. Thank you for another wonderful experience. Brenda

This is wonderful, magical and beautiful place and very much recommend it. I took my wife for her birthday and it was a wonderful experience. We were alone in one of their beautiful rooms and it was very romantic. Thank you Catherine for an amazing time and wish you the best of luck in your business. You always have my support.

My mom booked the Garden Room at Shoogie Boogies' for my bridal shower. Katherine was very responsive and worked with our tight schedule to accommodate us! She also served the entire party our meal and was just fantastic about every detail of our gathering. The food was fantastic, with multiple courses - the elderflower prosecco, Mediterranean salad, bite-sized sandwiches, and exquisite desserts (chocolate cake and cheesecake with a strawberry drizzle) were just some of the yummy dishes served. Katherine, who also has a background in professional photography, took some amazing pictures for us as well (see below for some of them). We will definitely be booking more events here in the future!! Thank you Katherine and Shoogie Boogies, I will remember this day forever!

This is our absolute FAVORITE restaurant in Sarasota! The attention to detail, lush botanical beauty, and European sensibilities that Katherine has poured into this gem is truly magical. We went last year for Easter and kicked this year off after New Year's with another lunch. The menu has enough flexibility and flavor for everyone and Katherine is the ultimate, gracious hostess and owner. The full, colorful plates of food, are photo worthy for sure. It isn't a complete trip to Florida for our family without a meal at Shoogie Boogies! I recommend the restaurant to EVERYONE I know who lives in or visits Sarasota. Thank you Katherine for making a wonderful life changing decision to create this beautiful restaurant. You're an inspiration on so many levels!

Food was classy. Environment was very nice and people were nice. Wish there were more menu options. It seems a little over priced but you spend for the experience.

We were blown away with our experience here! It is a truly magical atmosphere they have managed to create. The food is delicious, but more than that: the whole place smells like flowers and truly feels like a French cafe! It is chic but refined, true excellence.

The place to escape. I felt like I was in a fairytale. The ambience, aesthetic, vibe; it's everything. The food is so well prepared and plated. The key lime pie is EVERYTHING. And I mean EVERYTHING. Katheryn the owner is an absolute angel, she made the entire experience come together. Will be back again and again and again...

This is one of the most magical, romantic, charming and elegant venues. The energy is so calming and inviting. This was my first visit here and I absolutely looooved it. I can't stop raving about this place. I went with one of my friends, so we had one of the (currently) two "6 guests and under" packages. But, if you go with a group with more than 6 guests, there will be more menu items for you. We opted for the 5 course meal package and we enjoyed every course. The fruit/cheese/cracker display, the salads, quiche and soup, the desserts, the wine/champagne, etc. We loved it! And our names were even written on a card in the flower vase at the table (such a thoughtful and adorable touch). I so look forward to hosting events here in the future with way more guests. Kathryn's (the owner) heart and soul are interwoven with every detail and occurrence here. You can tell how much time, heart and thought she puts into every second that this venue is in operation. She made my best friend and I feel like family and like royalty. The presentation of all of the food items was amazing. The classical music in the background was such a nice touch. The aroma in the restaurant was perfect. Every where that I looked, there was something to feast my eyes on decor-wise. The service was amazing; somehow Kathryn was able to make each guest feel like they were the only person there. My friend and I ended up socializing with other guests while there and they expressed the same feelings as I have written above. I can't imagine anyone having a bad experience here but if you do, the owner seems like the kind of person who would be accommodating and understanding.

Hidden gem takes on a new meaning when the restaurant is in fact, hidden. We received a friendly welcome when we walked in and shown to a table. I knew they offered Beef Stroganoff and did end up ordering it as my entrée, but started with their Lagman soup. Listed as a noodle soup, it was much more than that. Very flavorful red broth, with beef, veggies and of course those homemade pulled noodles. My wife and I split a bowl and both of us had plenty of soup. Next came the Beef Stroganoff, and this is where I should defer to the other reviews that speak very highly of the authenticity of the dishes at Garden of Joy. I believe everyone in the restaurant except us, staff and customers, spoke Russian, so you know this is the real deal. As for me, I admit I like my wife's stroganoff better, but I suppose my expectations were not fair and biased. We completed our meal by sharing a Napolean Cake, a layered treat that was an excellent finish. I forgot to ask if it was made in house or brought in, but either way it was I'm glad we tried it.

The wine I selected was very good!!! Then I ordered the Falafel. It came shortly after and looked/smelled wonderful!!! What happened next truly surprised & disappointed me!! The dish came with a wonderful sauce, but no Pita to sop up the sauce!!!! When I called the server over and said that was very unusual, she asked if I wanted Pita. I said of course, otherwise this great sauce will go to waste. She then told me the pita was an ADDITIONAL $5!!!!! I still wanted the pita, but SERIOUSLY!!!! $5 for bread that should AUTOMATICALLY come with a dish that has a sauce!!!!! Talk about "nickel & diming" your customers!!!!! That error in judgement cost the hotel a few meals, once I spread the word to my family/friends that were also there to celebrate our nephews!! Other that that, my weekend at the hotel was STELLAR!!!! The event was catered flawlessly, the room was excellent, too!! I would have liked the Valet Parking to be more reasonable, as $45 per day seems steep, given not many alternatives. All in all, a very nice weekend....next time I stay, I'll be dining out, though!!! The restaurant is perfectly decorated and tastefully outfitted with table settings, silverware, plates and interior décor that just 'spanks' of elegance and fine dining. Service and attention to ALL details by "Grayson" was exceptional. He is witty, enthusiastic and knew the menu and all aspects of the place!! The bus service was also military, sleuthy and efficient. We started with some very nice breads/rolls and an oil dipping sauce. First Course was the Roasted Garlic Caesar which was VERY nice with luscious greens and nice dressing. 9/10 As well I had the Kale Salad with Toasted Almonds, Dried Cranberries, Sweet Potato and (I held the Goat Cheese), this was a very nice medley of ingredients and textures. I left off the goat cheese for a nice vegan/heart friendly course. 10/10 The mains / second course were the Fresh Catch (Mahi Mahi) w/ Honey Mango Salsa, Grilled Vegetables and Sriracha-Lime Sweet Potatoes that had a very properly cooked piece of fish. the zucchini and squash vegetables were nicely cooked and the sweet potatoes were also el dente firm and very enjoyable. 9/10 I got the Vegan Medley of Roasted Beets, Baby Carrots, Onion, Sweet Potato and Broccoli w/ Balsamic Reduction. This entrée arrived nice and hot! This was a very nice offering and I was happy to see it. I thought possibly a bit over roasted as the sweet potatoes on this entre were dry and hence a little 'tough'. If you look at the picture the carrots are a bit dark and a little dry. The beets were wonderful and they were cooked perfectly. I would definitely order this again, but I might ask if they could keep the veggies more crispy and less cooked. 6/10 We got the Three Course gig as it was just a few dollars more for the dessert. and so the crème brûlée was as expected and VERY smooth and silky 10/10 The Chocolate Mousse Cake was also very nice with a smooth and silky mousse but the cake might have been a little firmer or over baked just a bit? 8/10 Finally the live music was a real treat with a "Matt" on violin playing appropriate and recognizable compositions in a nice dining/background volume. I had a three course meal, starting with their Roasted Garlic Caesar Salad, followed by Pasta Carbonara with Guanciale and Pecorino Romano and Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee for dessert. The salad was fine, light and fresh with a slightly creamy dressing. A very good start. I also liked my pasta main course. The homemade pasta was a little dense, each noodle about an inch and a half long, not hollow. While I'm just more used to spaghetti or penne noodles, this was still a very good dish, quite authentic. Finishing off with something sweet, the Crème Brulee was fantastic. After the savory carbonara it was a perfect ending. We liked the restaurant, it was renovated a couple of years ago by new owners. There are a few different seating areas, a patio, outdoors, and I think a couple of rooms inside. Anyway, we sat inside in the room with the bar and enjoyed listening to a lovely singer with a guitar as well as our food. Savor Sarasota is an annual event where lots of area restaurants offer fixed price (prix fixe) dining for a couple of weeks (6/1/23-6/14/23). I had the most delicious breakfast. Everything on my plate was perfectly prepared. I had the traditional breakfast which was 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes (or side salad) and toast. I swapped the toast for a croissant and had the eggs scrambled with Swiss. The eggs were out of this world....super light and fluffy. The potatoes were crispy outside, soft inside and the bacon on the crisp side, but not too much. The way i prefer. The while meal was absolute perfection. I live Sarasota and go every year so I would certainly go back. The assortment of pastries and quiches looked amazing. If we didn't have a 3.5 hour drive ahead I would have brought an assortment back. Our waiter, Bryan, was lovely. He was very personable and our order was brought out exactly as ordered. My son had a veggie burger on a roll with lettuce and a yellow tomato slice with a side of fries. He enjoyed it very much and actually said he was full (he is never full). The cafe is open 7-2 for breakfast and brunch and it is adorable. Nice assortment of coffee and tea as well. Make a point of stopping in if you're in the area. You will not regret it
