It was $7, which I thought was steep but not surprising. We had the Lido Sunset and Açaí Energy smoothies. Each smoothie is $11, which is insane. But the smoothies were good and very refreshing after being in the sun. The service was fine. You order at the counter and wait for your food / drinks. Everyone was pleasant. One thing I didn't like was that when you walk in, there is a stand on the left where they place all the dirty dishes. So the first thing you see when you walk in are people's scraps and dirty plates. I think they could make it look more cleanly. We had a very tough time picking what to order because the menu is extensive and has varied food and diet options. I used to enjoy this cafe a few years ago. Went today and the new set up makes no sense. If you want to do take out you have to order at the bar. We ordered 2 smoothies for $26 dollars. After we ordered we overheard them tell other customers that also ordered smoothies that they didn't have bananas. We weren't told this when we ordered our smoothies. We waited 20 minutes for our smoothies. When we tried them we could immediately tell they didn't have banana (which was listed on the menu and is a main ingredient) and they tasted terrible and were way too thin and watery. Cons: their gluten free pancakes are not good, let's be real, anything with almond flour is always going to taste soggy or dry. Always. In this case, their pancakes are soggy. Also, their indoor ambiance is blah. It's tiny and feels like a cheap cafe. Yet their prices are not cheap. We paid $200 for a family 5 to grab some breakfast: that included smoothies for the kids, orange juice for me, a mimosa for my husband, pancakes and bacon or sausage for the kids, and eggs benedict for us. I am so glad to be out exploring the Sarasota area, as we came across this fantastic place while roaming around the downtown are this past weekend. What a find! Small, casual, local, family-owned cafe that is vegan- and gf-friendly, while also serving meat for those who are not, plus they have smoothies, fresh juices, raw meals and even serve up raw desserts too, which I'm 100% going back for! My husband and I sat inside (very small, limited seating) because their 4 tables out on the side walk were in use. You can tell that this place has a lot of regulars, so it must be good, right? Um, right. Ok, so we were there around brunch time, so my husband ordered the Tex Mex Scramble with some amazing bread/toast that came with it that he topped with the scramble. He repeatedly kept telling me how good it was with his mouth full, lol. I was a little jealous (can't have eggs and miss them dearly), but only a little because I had the Mango Thai Wraps.... ....and they were so simple with mango, cabbage, carrots, and herbs, but so incredibly good, and I will give credit where credit is due -- that damn almond cream -- YUM. They served up THREE of them wrapped in lettuce leaves. I have to admit, it was light, but very satisfying. I felt full and happy with myself. It was really hard not to order one of their pancakes, and they have GF ones available too! I think I might cave next time. They sound more like dessert than breakfast, but ohmygosh, the combos sound incredible and different...pear ricotta, toasted coconut pineapple, lavender blueberry lemon....need I say more? HIGHLY RECOMMEND I visited this place for a quick brunch, and although it was quite busy, I was able to place my order promptly. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Lido Sunset smoothie, a BLT, and a fruit bowl, and everything was amazing! The fruit was fresh, the bread was soft, and the smoothie was nicely chilled. Oh well. They only had one cup available and we had to wait 10 minutes for them to brew another pot. The coffee was a premium price of $7.49 for two cups, and wasn't that great tasting. Green Zebra probably has one of the largest brunch menus I have ever seen! There are so many options and everything is clearly labeled on the menu to accommodate all dietary restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, nut-free, AND raw vegan). I have never seen a restaurant that can accommodate this many lifestyles and have multiple options for each one. As a vegan, I greatly appreciated it! There are also a lot of smoothies as well as coffees/lattes/cappuccinos. The decor was very cute and the staff and service were excellent! I ordered the sweet potato toast with a side salad and side order of tofu. My mom had a Benedict duo. My father ordered a real deal which consisted of eggs, chicken sausage, and a pineapple pancake. At the cashier inside, there are multiple signs indicating the degree to which Green Zebra is understaffed, thus asking for the patience on part of the customers. It's your classic demand-supply imbalance during the pandemic. I can certainly understand why the demand remains strong. The employees--while busy--are knowledgeable and helpful when addressing questions or customizing aspects of the menu offering. And the food itself is delectable. We enjoyed a modified version of the GZ scramble (replacing feta cheese for avocado) as well as a mushroom egg wrap.
