In town for my birthday, decided I wanted something sweet besides cake. Stumbled upon this little spot, the man at the stand was friendly and welcoming. We got the strawberry cheesecake, and the Bavarian donuts. First thought, I wasn't a fan of fresh HOT mini donuts in styrofoam. Not a great idea... I guess for the price... 2nd thought the toppings aren't "fresh" per say, they are squeezed from a frosting tube. I kind of was expecting like fresh strawberries, strawberry jam etc. anyways... I would give it a 3/10 it was extremely sweet, and very thick. :( was not a fan of it... however the Bavarian donuts were better, although again a little too sweet and tasted processed. The service usually co sista of high school surfer dudes and it's just a small store front with no outside seating really. They do have coffee, and latter drinks. Meaney's Mini Donuts is a perfect dessert after dinner in St. Armands Circle. My wife and I ventured over here Monday night. This low-key shop serves up delectable donuts in a gift shop. As you near the entrance to Meaney's, the smell of sweet fried dough draws you in. You can attempt to walk around and look at the different items for sale. You can get hats, shirts, knick-knacks, jewelry, beach toys, odds and ends and other random things. The whole time though, you'll be smelling donuts and at least for me, I couldn't focus on anything else. My wife and I looked over the options. Plenty to choose from. We went with the French toast and the Bavarian cream. 3 of each was $5. The friendly kid behind the counter took our order and then proceeded to make our donuts fresh right there. A mini donut machine, pumping out dough, dropping them in oil, flipping them and then eventually dropping them into a cooling rack. It was a neat, quick process and I enjoyed watching the donuts being made. The kid then took them fresh out of the tray and proceeded to sauce and top them with their flavorings. They were served on sticks in a tiny box. My wife and I walked out and took a seat on a bench. These were super fresh. Still hot. The French toast were dusted in cinnamon and powdered sugar and drizzled with syrup. The Bavarian Cream were topped with the sweet yellow custard and drizzled in a rich dark chocolate sauce. I could have had another order of 6 or more! Meaney's is a solid stop for dessert in St. Armands Circle. Unique and tasty. You can also get coffee, espresso and soft serve here. Stopped by here every morning of our trip to get iced coffees and they never disappointed! They also came with a cute bendy straw. So apparently this is a new shop that opened up while I was on a trip to Sarasota. It's a cute little shop near the beach that cranks out hot fresh mini donuts from a cool looking machine. They have lots of different flavors like cheesecake, chocolate drizzle, and cinnamon. I can't really remember all the flavors but they all look delicious and the donuts are literally melt in ya mouth. I personally decided to get the cinnamon sugar one. They come for about 8 a piece for a decent price. Honestly, the only thing I would fix is that, the worker has to be aware not put too much sugar on the donut. Like don't get me wrong, I appreciate more than too little, but I literally ate like a ball of sugar. Besides that little tidbit, I'd definitely recommend this place.
