Yogurt parfait and detox juice!
Christy H.

FANTASTIC. As someone who loves a healthy breakfast but is married to someone who wants something a bit more decadent... This was the PERFECT compromise! A cute little shop on AMI, we walked in and were immediately and Warmly greeted by the two servers behind the counter. They promptly took and prepared our order. We went soon after opening so we were able to snag one of the few tables indoors. (If you're coming with a group or later in the day, you're better off getting it to go.) My husband had the Arepa King, which was absolutely delicious. A slightly healthier arepa dough but still savory and blended perfectly with the egg, avocado, and feta flavors. The texture and amounts of each were perfectly proportioned. I snuck a few bites! He also got a beef empanada (baked, not fried, which we prefer) and a smoothie. It made me wish I got a smoothie! It was nice and thick (but not too thick), and sweet (but not too sweet). Exactly the way you want a smoothie. I got the detox juice (which I didn't realized was made per order, so refreshingly and had a nice frothy head) and the yogurt parfait. Once again, the proportions were perfect! A nice amount of yogurt, crunchy granola (again, sweet but not too sweet), and fresh blueberries, strawberries, and banana. It was exactly what I wanted before a hot day at the beach. We also got hot coffees, one black and one with their maple donut sugar free syrup. They had so many fun syrup flavors!! Definitely, definitely check this spot out for breakfast when on AMI.

Service is 5stars but the food was not quite as good. The lady at the counter asked for my preference of coffee to milk ratio. Customized my juice order based on allergies and was super concerned with my satisfaction. We had the Arepa Queen which was like an Avacado chicken salad on a healthy bun like thing. Points for it being healthy but the flavor was a bit lacking with some hot sauce it was good. Then had an açaí bowl with added Nutella and peanut butter. This was good. The green juices were good and strained. Overall it's a cute spot but I'm not sure I'd be back.

We had breakfast sandwiches, an açaí bowl and smoothie from here. The açaí bowl was fantastic! Best I ever had. I tried the King and was a bit disappointed, as there wasn't much flavor. But once I added salt and some hot sauce it was really good. My daughter didn't like her breakfast sandwich but my son did. The smoothie was fresh and delicious. It's a really small place with just a few tables. We went during the week. There was only one other table with patrons. Yet I had to wipe down a table so we could sit.

Went to Blueberries to get a smoothie before heading to Manatee Public Beach. It was not busy in there and the workers are nice. The smoothie was delicious and thick. I knocked one star because the bathroom was a little dirty when we had to use it. There is parking right outside and it is free.

Excellent service. Super nice and engaging operators. The cafe was clean and neat. Quality of food & drinks were great and worth the price! We had a chicken and a spinach empanada. Both fresh and delicious! Avo toast - one of the best. Fresh juice and a protein shake. Everything was fresh and great quality. Highly recommend!

Cute place with friendly staff and the most delicious açaí bowl I have ever eaten. 100,000/10 real fruit, local honey, crunchy granola açaí bowl. Holy smokes I'm in shock. Also peep the empanadas, they are to die for.

Not my kind of place. The food was mediocre and the ambience was weird. The service was good! Very nice people.

My sandwich was delicious BUT it was missing the avocado (which I went back and asked for separately). I also realized a little too late that I got someone else's order because I got American cheese not Swiss cheese. I think it would be helpful if they labeled the different sandwiches since there were three bagel sandwiches in our order. For my drink, I wanted to try the jewel flavoring (toffee nut and carameand I asked the staffer if it was better in a frappe or an iced latte and she advised the latter. The drink was so delicious that I think she was right. I also ordered a banana nut muffin, which I will have to come back and review as I have not tried it yet. However, I did try the crumble cake and it was too sweet for my liking. The place is really cute with art and merchandise but the music was too loud. However, we were lucky to find seating in the back. I have to say, the staff was nice and responsive. I know it is not easy managing a big party.

If you come during season, and on weekends, expect to wait. But it is worth it! The burrito was simply delicious. There was so much of it that you do feel like you're getting every penny you pay. Both were gluten free. Now I have to admit that the lox avocado toast was about 6.5/10 (as the avocado had that weird taste it develops when it sets out for too long), but the waffle was SUPER good, ESPECIALLY for a GF option. The coffee was decent. Customer service was good. Everybody was very friendly and attentive, from the cashier to the wait staff. I have to say that I also got an iced latte with coconut milk and I was ecstatic that they had the coconut milk option because I'm noticing that it's becoming less and less available. Now to the other things that I have tasted; I tried their chai chiller. Even though it was too sweet for my liking (I reckon it was made with chai syrup). However, I think it tasted great -and the spiciness really was coming through. Finally, the tried the morning glory baked item. It was good. The combination of coconut, carrots, cinnamon, and raisins worked well together. I also got an orange-something scone, but have not tried it yet. I will have to come back and update my review once I do. The place looks eclectic but it works! It also has a small gift shop at the entrance which is a good option if needed.

Believe the yelp reviews..not TikTok…read more Before heading to the beach craving something cold and somewhat healthy was on my mind. The aesthetic of the store is really pretty, there is no inside so you order from a window and wait for your order outside. The person inside yells out your name for you to pick up your order. The backyard has pretty white gravel rocks and a seating area. The line although long, moved fairly quickly, the girl at the cashier was friendly and welcoming she also recommend a few things etc. Now on to the food - the Açaí bowls are really big definitely shareable. I ordered the açaí bowl, which on the menu says açaí , strawberry, blueberry and mango... unfortunately that is not the bowl I received, my bowl had strawberries and bananas and almond butter.. no mango, no blueberry. If there was a shortage or not available I'd expect for the staff to communicate that when placing my order .. which was disappointing. I also ordered a croissant but that tasted like a bjs Costco croissant lol idk why I expected homemade lol. The bowl was also very watery nothing like coconut water, it didn't have much flavor in the açaí base itself which was disappointing as well. Overall I wouldn't return. there other places nearby with better ratings.

Our cashier was really cool and gave us an idea of drink sizes and such so we were looking forward to our food. The wait wasn't bad at all, but I was a bit confused once I collected our order. My chai tea was totally fine, but neither bowl was as described in the menu. My dragon fruit bowl mentioned mango, pineapple, coconut water, etc. I did get dragon fruit as my frozen section but got it with strawberries, bananas, peanut butter and honey. Pretty much like a regular açaí. I'd already eaten from it when I realized, so I'd say be mindful of your order.

I dream of a Minnie's Breakfast at home in Maryland during the cold winter months. The staff is amazing. You can't find nicer people to start off your day. All I have to say is come hungry because their portions are HUGE (I started getting the kids meal/ half portions because the adult servings are way too much for me) and the prices are great. It's a beach style restaurant not a 5 star Michelin restaurant. At times there is a little wait when they are busy and it's understandable because there is 1 cook and a helper and being only 2 people in the back the food always comes out fast and perfect. It's AMI and they have chairs and benches so enjoy the slow paced lifestyle of the island. They are a small family owned business who have had to close for a few days over the years at no fault of theirs due to construction, re-pavement of the shopping center, hurricane damage and a few days for health reasons for the owner/cook which they update in a timely manner on their social media pages or in person if you are a regular. I started reading some of the reviews and it broke my heart how entitled people can be and I had to write my own because I'm thinking these people are either really miserable in life or NO ONE can please them so if you read the 1 star reviews just imagine the type of people by their complaints. I recommend Minnie's Beach cafe to everyone and anyone who asks. I have friends who drive from Lakewood Ranch and Osprey every other weekend just to eat breakfast here. If you are looking for a beach atmosphere with great customer service and delicious food look no further. THIS is the place you want to get a hearty breakfast that will last you throughout the day.

While waiting, I noticed the woman greeting other guests very warmly, with things like "come on in, baby." When our table was called, she mispronounced my husband Tony's name. He simply corrected her and said, "Tony," and her response was, "whatever." As we approached the entrance, she was standing in the doorway and I finally asked, "Can we come in? It's hot out here." Her demeanor immediately changed and she silently moved aside and led us to our table. I'll be honest: once I sat down, I cried for about five minutes out of anger. I'm pregnant, I was hungry, my two young children were with us, and after waiting so long I didn't feel like I could simply pick everyone up and start over somewhere else. I also didn't want to have an argument in front of my children, so I swallowed a lot of what I wanted to say. I can't say what motivated the difference in treatment, but as a Latina woman, I noticed it and it made me uncomfortable--especially when I later watched difficult interactions happen with two other Latino tables as well. I was glad to see apologies and much warmer treatment afterward, but our initial interaction had already affected what should have been a nice family breakfast. Thankfully, a second server eventually took care of us and our experience with her was much better. We ultimately waited around another 40 minutes for our food. I'm not writing this because I expect special treatment. I expect the same basic courtesy given to every other guest. Whatever the reason for the initial behavior, responding "whatever" when a customer politely tells you his name is disrespectful and unnecessary. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because no guest should leave a breakfast table wondering why their family seemed to be treated differently.
