My husband, who is so awesome, sent me a list of fancy restaurants in Longboat Key to try and accidentally added Sips to that list. As soon as I saw the picture and little blurb about it I knew I had to add it to my coffee stops this trip. I am so glad he added it to that list because it was so tasty!! The shop is unassuming from the front it's in a little shopping area but don't let that fool you this place is top notch. Not only was my chai tea delicious we got to see kayakers sail by on the water as we were waiting on it!! But alas, more about my drink the consistency is a little thicker but the flavor is so on point even the ice couldn't touch it. Out of all the places I tried I loved the rich flavor of the chai here best. If you're visiting AMI definitely make the trip out to try this gem you will be glad you did!! read more

Great little coffee shop right off the main drive. They do a great job with all of their drinks which come out with the right balance of flavors, depending on what you get. Love this spot! Delicious coffee and great beach chill vibes ! I walked in for a quick coffee on our way to Bradenton. What a treat to stop here ! Longboat key is unique because there's water on both sides of the area so you'll always have a nice view! When I walked in, the cool colors of the coffee shop made me feel cozy, like I wish I could stay longer and just relax with a book! I ordered a few lattes and a delicious natural juice for my toddler. I also grabbed a few locally baked chocolate chip cookies. All the ingredients were delicious and some locally grown! Lattes were exactly what I wanted ! After I placed my order with the gal(who was sooooo patient with me by the way!) I walked to the pick up area. Wow!! The patio area was so nice! There were plants, chairs, and a waterfront view. I stepped out for a bit to check it out. Man I wish I had time to stay! This will definitely be my spot when I come to Longboat key! read more

It's been 2 years since my last time visiting the island and the first stop I knew I had to make was stopping by to not only get my coffee fix but to see the amazing owners. It brought so much joy to me to see that they have expanded and offer many more amazing menu items. If you are ever anywhere near sips or even passing by do yourself the pleasure of stopping in. You will be greeted with a smile from either Chris & Justina the owners or one of their amazing staff members. 5 Stars for a coffee shop on Longboat Key that hits all my espresso needs! I've been vacationing in Anna Maria Island on and off for years and somehow only now discovered this gem of a coffee shop. I've long felt like my coffee shop needs had to be put to the side while in AMI, but this shop is so close to where I stay (technically Bradenton Beach) and the staff is INCREDIBLY friendly. My friends and I ordered some drinks (I got an iced oatmilk latte) and we walked over to the covered back patio to enjoy the view of the canal (there were manatees!) in the shade. I saw that they have a food menu with baked goods and breakfast- I'll be sure to check that our next time! Once again, a great little shop with employees that were outgoing and friendly (not always the case at coffee shops!). I'll be back time and time again! read more

We came here before a kayak excursion nearby and it is such a lovely spot. The egg sammy was delicious and the oreo iced coffee creation was equally lovely. Staff were super friendly and everything came out quickly and everyone loved their food and drinks. Highly recommend this spot!! read more

Awesome coffee shop with a really chill vibe! Their Bumblebee Latte slaps hard! Would definitely be back. I took off a star due to waiting over 25 minutes for 2 coffees. To be fair they were busy making several acai bowls and food for several people who ordered before us so they were multitasking big time which I applaud. However, I feel like there could've been a better system with someone on coffees and someone else on food prep. Just a recommendation to try and cut down on some of the very long wait times for those who just want coffee and no food. I was not the only one who was just waiting on coffee and no food. read more

This place is adorable! They have tons of options - juices, lattes, smoothies, pieces of coffee cake as big as your head... you name it. I'm normally pretty basic when it comes to coffee, but I was feeling crazy and ordered the maple cinnamon latte, one of the seasonal options and it was SO good!! Brand new coffeehouse on LBK! just had their grand opening. Small, quaint coffee house. Serves light breakfast, baked goods, smoothies- and of course coffee! Vegan: gluten free options.they have about 4 tables inside to sit and multiple outside under roof- or in sun. They offer drip or pour over coffee... and great smoothies. We came into sips at 8:50 and ordered as we needed to be at manatee paddling by 9:15, not only did some of us not even get our food, we waited till 9:40 without any food. Terrible terrible speed, there is no reason for a restaurant to take 40+ minutes in simple breakfast food read more

Stopped by on our last day in town & honestly it's a good thing or else we would've stopped by everyday of our trip! Coffee & food were delicious. I'm gluten free and hate gluten free bread with a passion but- something about their gluten free bread. So. Good!!! I got the egg/cheese & bacon sandwich on GF bread and I know I'll be craving it tomorrow. Just took off one star because the prices are a little steep. But I guess that's also the new normal. HIDDEN LBK JEWEL As a fellow coffee enthusiast, I was excited to try this new shop in my area. The coffee was fresh, aromatic and contained subtle tones of chocolate, caramel, and was very smooth. Chris and Justina are the owners and they were personable, passionate, and clearly in love with what they do. They were some of the most down to earth and humble owners I have ever encountered. The shops interior design was efficient with a minimalist approach and an open floor layout brewing up conversations and laughter. The shop also offers an incredible outdoor patio overlooking a serene canal. Would recommend this shop to anyone and will be a supporter and customer at Sips in the future. We had an iced honey latte and their bumblebee latte. Friends we were with had a vanilla coconut latte. The place was poppin when we walked in. We waited probably 10 mins to order and another 10 for our coffee which, for the number of people in there, was super reasonable. The coffee was just not super good. It's fine. Espresso was nothing special in flavor and a little bland for my liking. Flavorings were out of the bottle, so, again, did the job but nothing special. Altogether an okay coffee shop. Being the only real shop on the island, I'd come back, but I wouldn't seek it out apart from being in LBK already. As a whole an okay place to get coffee read more

How often does that happen with someone you meet at a restaurant? I think that says everything about the kind of person she is and the impression she made on our family. The food was great, but Nicki is what will make us remember this place. A good meal is always nice, but having someone make you feel that welcome is something you don't forget. Nothing ruins Eggs Benedict for me more than an under or non-toasted english muffin. Need to have some crunch. Went again with the Home Fries - still wonderful. Lastly, my son ordered pancakes during my first visit. I took a bite because that's what I do. Not good. They were tough, not fluffy, didn't absorb much syrup. Almost tasted like they were overcooked. No flavor. In summary, omelet and home fries were great. Skip the pancakes.

We stumbled upon this platinum gem of an eatery while visiting Anna Maria Island, visiting from Westchester County, New York. Justina & Chris are completely hands-on and prepare the healthiest, most delectable eats you'll ever encounter in Longboat Key. I had the turkey sandwich, the homemade "super antioxidant drinks," a roast beef sandwich, lavender matcha drink, the avocado toast and a few other delights that please the palette in unique fashion. The vibe and ambience: Like visiting an old college roommate's house: Completely warm and inviting. There's seating outside in the back where one can watch the Manatees flail about along the inter coastal. Very cool spot to grab a bite & a smoothie and work on your laptop. We were treated like good friends and not "paying customers." Also, try their cookies & baked goods. Remarkably delicious and gluten free. For food, I ordered an avocado toast with shaved egg. I had a much better experience interacting with the woman at the food window. She was incredibly kind, made an effort to talk to me and my food was ready 20 minutes early. It was good and fresh, but I now know that I'm not a fan of the texture of shaved eggs.
