Really cute little spot that my mother in law took me to and it was so fun! We parked and had someone directing traffic and walked on over to get seated. We had the choice of sitting outside, inside or at the bar! It was quite busy when we arrived so it was a little bit of a wait to get served. However, Our server was very sweet and attentive towards our party. Gave us some great recommendations. We started off with clam chowder, gumbo, and ceviche and it came out pretty quickly. Everything was made in house and absolutely delicious! The gumbo was my favorite. After the appetizers came through we ordered our main dishes and got fried shrimp, and fish tacos! It took some time for it to come out but once it did it was super exciting to get it. Everything was delicious, and for the shrimp you had a choice of small and large. I ordered small while my boyfriend ordered a large. We had tons and tons of food and it was so so good! We finished off with some delicious key lime pie and it was well worth the waiter bringing it out to us! My favorite definitely was the key lime pie and finishing up with that as well! read more

This little unassuming spot was absolutely buzzing over an hour wait on a Tuesday and it's easy to see why. The marina setting is such a vibe, with dockside picnic tables, a tiki bar, and a small indoor space with a bar and a few tables. We were genuinely blown away by the quality of the food. Everything tasted incredibly fresh the menu says "caught and served same day," and it absolutely lives up to that promise. The blackened fish tacos were a standout and some of the best we've had. The Caesar salad dressing is made In house and is absolutely delicious! We added the blackened mahi and it was filling and delicious. I have mastered a homemade recipe and I'm hard to impress when it comes to Caesar . (We ordered it extra saucy) The only thing we didn't love was the grouper spread, but that was more of a personal preference--it leaned more toward a tuna fish style spread rather than the creamier version we were expecting. The service was great too, the waiters are obviously kept super busy in a spot like that but still managed to get the job done with a smile! Overall, this was easily some of the best food we've had in Florida in the 10 years we've been coming here for spring break. We'll definitely be adding this spot to our yearly rotation. read more

Tide Tables Restaurant serves up deliciousness right at the intersection of the Cortez Bridge and the Intracoastal Waterway. We ordered the fried grouper platter and the fried mahi mahi platter--both outstanding. The breading was perfectly crispy with just the right touch of salt. Our server was super friendly, as were the ladies who helped us find parking and get seated. The picnic tables outside offered great views of the marina and plenty of bird activity to watch while we ate. I had the mahi sandwich with slaw and chips, and it was just as delicious. The house-made tartar sauce deserves a special mention--it was phenomenal and really took the meal to the next level. Another thing you absolutely have to try is their house-made hot sauces--they're unique and full of flavor! Great lunch spot on the water. We arrived a little after they opened at 11:30 am and most of the outdoor tables were already occupied. There are outdoor bar seats too and indoor seating. There is a parking attendant that will tell you where to park and a hostess that will direct you depending if you want indoor/outdoor or bar/tables. They will not seat you unless everyone in your party is present. Menus, condiments and paper towels are on the tables. Our server was great, food came out quickly and drinks were always replenished. I got the red sangria and partner tried the canned cider (Kopparberg) which comes in 2 flavors - pear and strawberry lime. We both ordered the seafood combo - u choose btwn fried, grilled and blackened. Comes with cole slaw and you choose a side (fries, baked beans, yellow rice) (grilled veggies is an extra $2 charge). Food came out quickly, we ate every bite, everything was delicious. I think the Cole slaw had pineapple in it? Which was a nice touch. Very dog friendly too, the couple next to us said the staff brought out a water bowl for their Shih Tzu. We tried the key lime pie too, which was wonderful. We would 100% come back. Lovely florida style lunch place on the water, laid back, great service. We had great weather and enjoyed watching the boats and pelicans. Come early to get a good seat outside by the water. This is a great place right at the outskirts of longboat key to grab some food. The fish tacos were delicious. I enjoyed the rice that came with as well and their coleslaw. Tide Tables is a casual seafood restaurant on the water. We sat outside, sharing a large picnic table with other diners. The view of the water and of the bridge crossing over the Intercoastal Waterway was so pleasant. We watched Brown Pelicans diving for fish. For us, getting food was much easier than for those pelicans. Tide Tables has friendly table service and the food was ready in under 10 minutes. We both got baskets, mine was their large Scallops basket with fries and coleslaw. It had 13 large scallops and for a scallop lover like me, greatly enjoyed. I got mine fried and they were lightly breaded and not oily. Afterwards we shared a slice of their homemade Key Lime Pie, a Florida staple in seafood restaurants. We thought the pie was about average. This is a popular place and while they have lots of parking spaces, it isn't quite enough. Tide Tables actually has people helping you line up until a spot opens up for you. Nice people, making the wait not so frustrating. We came to Tide Tables for lunch one day while we were in town. I remember really enjoying this place, so we decided to come back. First, if you're coming from Longboat to Cortez, be prepared it's going to take roughly 30 minutes. When we arrived, we were directed by a parking attendant of where to park, then walked up to the host stand. We walked up to the host stand, were greeted and shown a table. Be aware, tables are picnic tables, that have umbrellas. The umbrellas don't bend, so it can get pretty sunny here, so be sure to wear sunblock. After looking over the menu, I opted for the mahi tacos, which have an Asian sauce on top, and fries, my husband got a mahi sandwich, and my kiddo got a kid's burger. Servers were friendly. The tacos came out perfectly cooked and I loved the Asian style tacos. The fries were delicious. The beer was cold. My husband loved his sandwich and fries. The view is great! Nice and thick with no flour, all grouper bits and a flavorful fresh grouper broth. I wish I had taken a photo. The fish tacos are made with Mahi Mahi and my cousin said that they were very good. My wife had the tacos with grouper (up charge) and she loved them. She had the baked beans as a side and they were also very good. The beans had onions in them that added to the flavor. I had the 5 ounce grouper platter , grilled with fries and Cole slaw . The fish was perfectly grilled without added seasoning. The atmosphere is a fishing village on the water. Great, right? I really enjoyed our dinning experience. We arrived at approximately 4:30 on Sunday December 22nd. It was a beautiful evening so we decided to sit outside. There was a good crowd but we managed to get a table by the water. This is a seafood joint, but they have a handful of non-seafood offerings including: burgers, chicken, and bbq ribs. ...But let's be clear: I came for the seafood! I ordered the Thai Chili Grouper Bites. It was one of the daily specials and it was outstanding! I tried my sister-in-law's Shrimp Po' Boy and it was tasty. As a local, this is where I always bring people who are from out of town for a nice view, but I no longer can do that. After repeated rude interactions with the older hostess (I believe Barbara) with not only me, but friends, and family, I will no longer be coming back here. If you come on vacation, I will pray for you, she is the worst thing about this place and makes it to wear the experience for tourists and locals is very poor. Disclaimer, I am not a fish person. We went to this establishment at the insistence of my wife. Our sister-in-law highly recommended it. They both stated that the restaurant has other options for non-fish people. We arrived at the restaurant at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. The restaurant was extremely busy, with very limited parking. An employee directed me to park in the "Bridge Tenders" parking space saying everything would be good. We had a 30 minute wait for a table. The bar menu is strictly beer and wine. The waitress was rushed and did not offer any specials or recommendations to the table. I ordered the grilled chicken. When it arrived, it looked like a photo from a fine dining restaurant for being plated on a paper plate served with plastic utensils. The chicken was devoid of any taste. No seasoning. (Not even salt and pepper.) The coleslaw was not good - marginal at best. The tap beer was cold but it was served in a small beer mug for $6. I'm guessing it was an 8 oz serving. The bill was $100 for the four of us. (Two people shared a salad). In summary, I think you can do better. I'd drive by. read more

Enjoyed lunch at an outdoor table on a very hot Florida Friday, but a breeze was blowing from the water and it was quite lovely. Service from Griffin was outstanding... He stopped by many times to make sure we were satisfied with the pace of our lunch. I really enjoyed the fried grouper - even the 5 ounces was a large serving! Decided to check this place out as a waterfront restaurant to visit on our boat, but we did drive. Rolling into the parking lot, we were pleasantly surprised to be guided to a spot by a parking attendant at no cost. She greeted us, directed us to the entrance, and even recommended food items. How awesome is that?! Outdoor seating looked nice, but we were starving so decided to take an available indoor table. It was pretty tight inside, but very charming in an old Florida way. Food came pretty quick. Hubby got the ribs, I ordered the seafood combo blackened. Both were very very good. We took a walk after dinner to check out the space in the docks where we were greeted by a dock attendant that we saw helping people tie up their boats. This place thought of everything.
